Tony's Italian delicatessen has been a local favorite for many years! They offer some of the best weekly specials here in Phoenix! The food is so fresh!! One of my favorites to get is their spaghetti and meatballs meals. It comes with salad, garlic bread and the spaghetti and meatballs! Let me tell you the spaghetti and meatballs are so delicious! I would say this meal is enough for 2 people to share! The prices are unbeatable! Their deli sandwiches are super fresh, cut right there in front of you, made fresh and always delicious! Some others that are definitely worth mentioning is their pizza buying per slice (great portion size btw), and their pastas! A must when visiting is getting their pistachio Dubai chocolate cannoli! Their cannolis are made fresh and they really are amazing! The espresso tastes amazing! One thing that really stands out to me is that this deli/ grocery has been in business for a long time and the owners/employees are so welcoming and make you feel at home! They welcome you with genuine happiness. They have outdoor seating and they offer to go. They do have 2 spots for accessible parking and a few ramps. The aisles are pretty tight but if you ask the employers they are more than willing to help out! The entrance of the store is accessible and it's easy to move around. read more

Tony's has the best subs You will ever have, and they are made with perfection. Very friendly owner and workers inside. They also have good sausages, meats, cheeses, and olives in the deli. This is an amazing Italian deli. I have been searching for a great Italian deli for a long time. This is one of those old-school places that you would find in New Jersey or Brooklyn. The owner who I meant behind the counter was a polite gentleman, and his service was excellent. He cut me up some thin slices of capicola, and I bought some amazing Italian rolls as well as Italian cookies and some very authentic and beautiful chocolate from southern Italy. I also bought a salami and cheese grinder 12 inch sandwich which was amazing this place is a hidden gem and worth the drive. If you have a chance to come in here you should if you're hankering for old school traditional Italian American deli this is your place. read more

Time for Tony to sell and remodel this dump that's been here for 55 years. Returned for 2nd visit since 2017, but was met with similar garbage sandwich. That sandwich had bad lettuce, old crusty Swiss cheese, not fresh bread. Luckily, the small sandwich only cost me 6 bucks. How has this place survived. read more

This was my first time here at Tony's Italian Delicatessen. When we walked in I heard a voice asking us how we are you doing. I finally found the voice coming from an older man behind the counter and we talked a bit and told him I was looking at the menu but he told me I have one here you can look at. I ordered the large Special Italian Hero and my better half ordered the Roast Beef. I told him we were going to look around and he said go look around. We ended up getting a pasta salad, chocolate cannoli and two small ice cream. Our order was for takeout but I noticed people sitting outside and couldn't tell if they had ordered from Tony's. I guess the younger man was the son but I didn't ask. He was the one pressing the prices on an old cash register which took me back to when I was a kid. They seem friendly and hospitable. I must tell you that even though they have been here for almost ever, it is situated on a very busy intersection and the parking is kind of tight. The deli has just about everything you would want and the aisles are narrow. Still a nice place to stop and shop at your pace. read more

In search of real hard salami I found Tony's. Inside it's not too impressive and toward the back in the cold display case I spotted what might well have been it. Close to $20 out the door I looked it over a bit more closely and my heart sank. "Best If Used by February 2025." Enough said? This occurred May 19 2026. Just say Duh! read more

Greeted with warm smiles & hellos, sandwiches quickly prepared with care. We both had the small italian sub. Chose vinegar & oil...we added additional OO & a pepper spread when we got home. I'm sure we could have had that added if I had asked, but we had the stuff already. Prices..fantastic! We liked the freshness of the bread & veggies. I also purchased 1/2 lb capicola & it is mouth watering! The shop is packed with imported specialty items...the biggest selection that I have ever seen on the west side of the country, and Italian deli's have been our jam when traveling to many states. Stopped by to pick up some lunch today and was very pleased with everything I got. Large special Italian was excellent, good portion size and the meat quality is great. Also ordered a small meatball sub with no cheese for my girlfriend who has a dairy allergy, the tomato sauce and meatballs were top quality. Visiting from the East coast, we were hoping to find a good Italian deli here in Phoenix. Unfortunately, Tony's wasn't it. Our first clue that this place was a bit skeevy was when we were looking at the canned goods. The price tag stickers were strategically placed over the expiration dates on the cans. The few that I was able to scratch off showed that some of those cans had expired in 2025. (This review is from our February, 2026 visit.) My wife was hoping to buy some double-zero flour to make pasta, but most of the paper flour packages had their expiration dates covered by a black Sharpie line. We did find a few items to buy however, but got tired of waiting for no one to appear at the check out register. We put the items back on the shelves and left. read more

I stopped for lunch takeout at Tony's Italian Delicatessen. They have been in the Valley forever, and in fact, they are celebrating their 55th anniversary. It functions as both a sandwich shop and a well-stocked grocery market, offering a slice of East Coast deli culture in Arizona. I met the son, Anthony, and brother, Vince; everyone was so friendly and welcoming. They have a wonderful deli case with imported Italian meats and cheeses, and wonderful-looking homemade cannolis. The chocolate ones looked great. I ordered the Italian special, a meatball sub, and a slice of pizza. I wish I could say the pizza or the meatball sub were good, but I really can't. The bread was great; the sauce was rich and good, but there were only three half-meatballs in a pretty large sandwich, so I was disappointed. The pizza was undercooked and doughy. I took it home and threw it in the Ninja; it made it a little better. However, the Italian special was very good, which my wife enjoyed, so I guess next time any of their cold-cut sandwiches are the way to go. They are reasonably priced and have a lot of daily specials, and the market is well stocked with imported goods. read more

Italian subs are not that great . The onions were long and stringy in sub! The two people that handle the meats and cheese for my sub never washed or cleaned their hands and they did not wear gloves!! Gross! Customer service was horrible, the lady was rude! The Italian man was the only nice person there!!! Save your money go to Country Market they have fresh full Italian subs and they are sanitary people. read more

I arrived from chicago in 2018. Highly recommended good sandwich.It appears to be anl ma and pa operation. Now the bread is consistently stale. I noticed they dont wear gloves. The items on the grocery shelves have old dates. It's time for them to retire and bring in young staff. I stopped going there in the last few years. So sad!! read more

A hidden gem!! This store is a little market with everything from wine, sauces, pasta, breads, desserts, and more. The deli has a variety of sandwiches and sides and they are absolutely delicious! The store itself is so cute and feels very authentic and the owners are so kind. The food from the deli is a great deal, and was made fresh with just a short wait. The large sandwiches are huge and can easily be split between two people or one half saved for leftovers. I am absolutely obsessed with Tony's and hope everyone in the valley gets a chance to stop by at least once! read more

BEWARE and check the expiration dates on ALL items on the shelves; cans, jars, etc. I had been in here ONCE, never again! There were food items on the shelves that had 'altered' expiration dates AND expiration dates that were 2 - 5 years old!! TOXIC! read more

As a fourth generation Italian and third generation Sicilian (Palmisano, Cappelletti, Fabiano), and being from San Diego (born and raised), Tony's brings me back to a little slice of home in Little Italy and in Big Italy, remotely, at the very least!
