I was very happy for many reasons to be referred to Dr. Cohen for a root canal procedure and even more pleased with the care she provided. Unfortunately, I've had my share of root canals and by far Dr. Cohen's procedure was the most easy going and pain-free. However, Dr. Cohen and her team immediately put me at ease. From the moment I walked in, they were warm, welcoming, and reassuring, making me feel comfortable and calm. To my surprise, the entire experience was essentially painless. Aside from a quick pinch or two from the Novocain, I felt nothing during the procedure. Dr Cohen was a very nice person... Although she did ask for a review before completing my procedure (which is not unusual for business owners to ask before work is complete) and unfortunately my crown was cracked after surgery and tho she said that that was a possibility...it sucks to have to pay out of pocket for a new crown. And then they said they had to send a bone graft to UCLA but I had no idea that I had to pay separately now I have a bill from collections so I called the office and front desk girl said they had me sign a document stating that I might have to pay for it if my insurance doesn't... So I asked for a copy of that signed document because I don't recall being told or having to pay UCLA separately after paying them over $4000 for a procedure you would think I would be clear that I would owe $300 on top of that for a bone graft they needed to do the work for me, and now they tell me they have no copy of the form that I signed. She couldn't even tell me if this collection bill originated from them because she said she has nothing to do with UCLA but they are the one who sent out the bone graft. She says I have to call UCLA. I shouldn't have to do extra work and pay UCLA separately for work they needed for the job? I have a high credit score and I haven't had a collections in over 15 years at least I can say...so i am very disappointed by the lack of clarity.. and the additional fees after paying so much already, and not being able to get a copy of the form I had to sign, so I can feel comfortable of paying an amount that I don't even recall having to pay in the first place. I trusted Dr Cohen so much until my crown cracked and now I have a bill in collection that could've been avoided. read more

I went in for a retreatment root canal. I had discomfort for months, and was in severe pain leading up to the treatment. The full procedure was done in two sessions, but after the first I was feeling incredible. Apparently I had a bad infection that caused bone loss in my jaw. I woke up with a tooth ache and my primary doctor saw me and said it appears as though you need a root canal. she sent me to Dr Cohen who saw me right away as I was in horrible pain!
