Requested a post construction clean and was quoted 3 hours for $145. I felt the price was fair and hired them. I was told they would need to borrow my vacuum bc they take CTA. Fine by me. They arrived early and I wasn't home yet. My contractor let them in but they couldn't really start because they didn't have the vacuum. I offered them a bucket and fresh water for their mop and they declined 3 times. I should have stopped them there. No bucket of water to clean dusty floors? They used fabuloso cleaner and one mop to clean 1000 sq ft of dusty floors. They basically moved dirt around the floors and caused excessive chemical residue on our brand new floors. They moved our upright couches along the walls and scuffed our newly painted walls. They were only responsible for cleaning floors, baseboards, one wood staircase a light fixture and fan. After they left, everything needed to be recleaned. It was already the afternoon and I needed it done by that evening so I didn't have time to request for the company to send back another cleaner (which is their policy). I contacted the office and they were everything but helpful. Not a single apology or recognition of their errors or short comings. The clean was not difficult and I could have done it myself but didn't want to because I'm 8 months pregnant. However, I ended up doing it myself in an 1.5 hours. I cleaned my water bucket 5 times and it was gray dirty water each time. What really irked me was the office manager said in her email response to my complaint was that sometimes post construction cleans need to be done multiple times to get off all the dust. First off- no, it takes water and effort and second- it should have been made clear that your cleaners were not capable to completing the job in one hiring and I wouldn't have proceeded with hiring. See photos below- they speak for themselves. Bottom line- don't bother. Very disappointed in the customer service. They still charged us $125 even though I wanted to continue to negotiate or ask for a re-do. Would have given them another chance but the office manager ruined it with her poor attitude and lack of empathy. read more

I guess I should have read more reviews here before I hired these people. First off, I thought their communication was awful. They kept calling me the wrong name even though they were emailing me and my name is in my email! They showed up at the wrong address (we had our new house cleaned, which we hadn't moved to yet) I literally told them this and checked it 4 times since she kept calling me the wrong name. They arrived 30 minutes late due to being at the wrong location, we paid them in advance, which was a HUGE mistake. Lesson Learned. They literally did not clean ANYTHING! There is cat hair all over the place, hanging from the chandelier! The kitchen wasn't touched, the floors weren't cleaned, windows were filthy. They did clean the bathrooms, that's about it. There is a 1/4 thick layer of dust above the door to the bedroom and I specifically asked them to wipe down all the trim. There was no furniture even in the house, it couldn't have been easier! What a scam, this place is awful, don't even try them!!! I have called and asked for my money back, we will see what happens. Update: I did get my money back, but not the tip I left. They didnt even act surprised that the women ran off with my money. They hadn't heard from her either so seems like this may happen a lot. read more

Played phone tag with this company for two weeks. I would leave a voicemail asking for availability, and they would return my call only to leave a voicemail saying that they had availability... They eventually gave me available appointment times, but I went with another cleaning service. My first and last impression of this company is that they are too vague with no urgency. Anyone who has read my reviews knows that I began Yelping while writing my first review about a negative maid experience. With my family arriving for Christmas, I thought I'd give MaidPro a shot, despite the mysterious single review listed with the service. MaidPro has a customer contact with an enthusiastic phone voice, so I gambled. Dorothy arrived at my home grumpy. That's cool, I thought. Just clean. She told me she had worked for the company for a few months and had previously worked at every major maid company in Chicago. Ummm, ok... that's really not a resume booster. MaidPro brings their own cleaning supplies, so I was curious when Dorothy began cleaning windows (which she said wasn't part of her job) with a wet rag. I hustled some paper towels to her. She didn't bring any floor cleaner, so I offered mine. She obviously decided to not use anything as my floors weren't cleaned. Nice phone voice guy said she'd stay until the job was done. She insisted she needed to leave in two hours. At the conclusion of this maid experience I realized that I truly don't need to deal with miscommunication and attitude while I embark on the impossible road of finding a great maid. I've used MaidPro for almost three years. I've had a few different teams over that time, and they've all been great. My house is cleaned with whatever products I choose, and they know the things I'm most particular about and do an solid job focusing on them. But where they really shine is with customer service. Whenever I've had any issues crop up, Vicki has been great about responding and solving my problem, whether I have to reschedule a cleaning or something just isn't right. She doesn't make excuses, she just looks for ways to solve the problem. I haven't had that experience with any other cleaning service in town (and I have tried all of them). I'm really picky about my house. MaidPro gets it. I wouldn't hire anyone else. read more

Ok, so I did see some bad reviews on here, and I have to say that I've had a great experience with MaidPro thus far - but I suppose it depends on which maid you get. In my experience...I started with one cleaning session to see how it went, and ended up getting bi-weekly cleaning sessions afterwards as I was happy with the service. To set things up I worked with a woman named Lourdes was quick to get me set up, and each week I receive a courtesy reminder call of our cleaning service the day before. They are also pro-active in contacting you should your cleaning service fall on a holiday to see if you want to reschedule. After my first cleaning session everything looked fantastic....and subsequently have had one of two cleaners come every other week and my place looks spotless. On one occasion I did see a minor issue with some weird streaking on the shower door, so I wrote a note about it - and 'poof' never had anything look even remotely out of place. Our current cleaning lady (Lisa I believe) is extremely friendly to us and even to our dog, which was important. Everything is locked up and looking as clean as when I spend hours doing it myself - well worth the money paid (which I believe they are also competitively priced after doing some comparison shopping). I'd say it's worth giving them a shot - if you see anything you'd like done differently, just write a note about it and it's quickly taken care of! read more

Very frustrating experience. Signed up for bi-weekly cleaning, despite the ok job they did on the first cleaning, but then they didn't show up. My husband waited over an hour and a half, delaying the start of his workday, then he called them and they told him that the person was late because of the rain...uhm its rain, not severe, and we were the morning slot, so they could have left earlier to make sure they were on time. Plus, they should have called us versus us having to call them. That is just not acceptable and very disappointing, as we were hoping to use their service in the future. read more

MaidPro asks for a credit card when one begins services with them in case they need to charge for an unexpected service but explained over the phone that they will notify me prior to charging.  I was not notified before I was charged.  On Friday, January 8, 2021, I paid by putting 68.00 in an envelope and the tip for the 2 cleaners in a separate envelope.  The following Friday, January 15th, I noticed a charge by MaidPro for the 68 dollars posted on January 12th. I immediately emailed Jose who responded through email that he would look into the situation. This was the second time we received services from MaidPro.  We received our initial services Saturday, December 19th where we paid the same way, cash in envelopes. Prior to paying unexpectedly twice, the company replied to emails but when I informed them of the problem they did not answer my message.  I sent a letter of inquiry to corporate and the local MaidPro office a few weeks later.  I have yet to hear a response.  My credit card had no other recourse but to allow the charge to stand.  The credit card company asked if there was a paper receipt; or email and/or text confirmation which is more typical. MaidPro did not provide any proof of payment to me.  If you chose MaidPro please inquire about proof of service especially since they have your credit card on hand to charge.  I do not like providing my credit card to companies who keep that information on file but did not think they would not have a basic system of checks and balances in place. read more

I have had ups and downs with Maidpro. Your experience really varies between maids. Some are wonderful, some are really not good. One nicked my furniture, although the service compensated me for the nick. Right now I am really happy with Lisa. She's so nice and does an amazing job. If you are particular like I am, I would recommend calling and asking for a really experienced maid and they will give you someone good. read more

For some reason I stayed with them for 3 years. Overpriced and basically nothing is cleaned. They may one or two good cleaning people but rarely do you get same ones. Overall terrible cleaning - even surface cleaning is bad as I can run my finger along rear edges and corners of counters and come up with dust. Dust bunnies on floor - even under kitchen table. At least one occasion my home phone was used for personal calls. And they "denied" that this was done. Well when date and time on phone bill corresponds to when they were in my home and I was not, I guess the spirits living in my house must have made calls. Plus I have been robbed (literally) of money buried in drawer. Don't know why I didn't drop them then. Do not use. I may be picky but not really. If I want to watch dust accumulate I can not pay anyone and get the same result. read more

I think the company's communication is great- you can reach them through email or phone - they always respond quickly, I have regularly scheduled cleanings, and I frequently have to change the dates, and they always accommodate me. I've been working with Vicki at MaidPro and for 2 years at two separate homes. We've worked with a few maids over time due to scheduling conflicts on our end and everyone has been fantastic. This was a move-in cleaning request for a completely empty apartment. We definitely overpaid for what we got. Vicki offered to send someone out to correct the mistakes but I missed time from work the day they arrived because they were late and couldn't do that again. I settled for $50 refund. There wasn't much to like - floors were done and inside of fridge and oven were adequate. I paid for the inside of cabinets to be cleaned and that didn't happen. According to their own checklist the exterior of appliances is to be cleaned - the top of the fridge wasn't touched. Windowsills still have a layer of dust in each room. Baseboards in the the bathrooms were not dusted. Maybe they are better if you are a regular customer but I won't be using again read more

My MaidPro Chicago experience turned out VERY BADLY for us. The next time we used our Microwave Oven after MaidPro was in our home cleaning, and they did clean our Microwave, it didn't work anymore!! We've had this appliance since we bought our place about 8 years ago, and never had a problem with it at all. I called up MaidPro and asked them about their service extensively, because I saw on Yelp that someone complained that one of their employees stole something out of someone's house, but I also saw some decent reviews about them as well. So I spoke with the owner, Lordes, a couple of times, and she assured me that this was a one-time thing, and that the person in question no longer works for MaidPro. We have never used a cleaning service before, so I needed to feel comfortable before letting strangers into our home. I bonded with Lordes because she told me she is a mother and is pregnant, as is the situation with my wife and I. I also asked about cleaning supplies for the safety of our child, and I felt reassured after speaking with her. So, the cleaning people came...seemed to do a pretty good job...but then I noticed something. The very next time I tried to use our Microwave after MaidPro employees cleaned it, it didn't work!! I tried it several times to no avail. So, I thought in my head, I'll just get this repaired or replaced, and let MaidPro know about it, and I didn't even give a second thought about whether or not they would reimburse me for fixing our Microwave Oven. Well, what happened next was extremely disappointing and frustrating. I got the Microwave Oven fixed, because this is a professional series appliance, so I was told that to replace it would have cost over $600, and to fix it would cost $354, which it did. So I made a quick decision to get it repaired that day, since we use it all the time, and then the next day let MaidPro know. I got an email back from Lordes letting me know that there wasn't a whole lot of proof that their employees broke our Microwave, and also called this an "incidental occurrence." She also claimed that the repairman that we used said our Microwave Oven broke due to an old part. He didn't tell me this. I then went on to let Lordes know that we have never had a problem with this Microwave Oven since owning it, and all the parts are the same age! I also reminded her that this was not an "incidental occurrence" at all...but rather the NEXT TIME WE USED OUR MICRWAVE OVEN AFTER MAIDPRO EMPLOYEES TOUCHED IT...IT DIDN'T WORK. I asked her in an email as sincerely as I could, "If you were in my shoes, wouldn't you be upset? I just seems like too much of a coincidence between the cleaning and then having our microwave not working, for the two occurrences not to be related." After going back and forth with MaidPro via email, I just got a very bad taste in my mouth. Even after I told Lordes that I would write a review on Yelp, and let as many people know as I could about my experience....she wrote: " "As a lawyer, I assume you are threatening to slander our business? Luckily, I am legal savvy." I was very taken aback by this. I let her know that I have every right to speak candidly about my experience with here company, and asked numerous times for her to simply give me a call, and return my calls, so we can at least have a conversation on the phone about this. I NEVER RECEIVED SO MUCH AS A PHONE CALL ABOUT THIS FROM LORDES, but she was happy to return my calls prior to me hiring MaidPro to clean our home. So all told, the cleaning, which cost $130, plus the cost of repairing our Microwave Oven which cost $354, totaled $484. Not a good experience at all. Put simply, I cannot recommend MaidPro Chicago, and would never ever hire them again. read more
