Perhaps an odd experience? The place can be a little hard to find, but there's plenty of parking. Park behind the Wendy's and walk out to the intersection to a black metal wall, it's basically where the block of shipping containers are, but literally right by the intersection. The outdoor dining area is small with only 3 restaraunts. Ordering wise was very fast, easy and covid friendly- you can order online with a qr code / website or go up and order with a screen in between. Masks are still required to order. The menus pretty simple with a series of combos, add ons and sides. Cups have the sippy lid. Idk if my taste buds are broken ( ** confirmed I do have an oddly high spice tolerance, but taste wise is still more "heat" than flavor ) , but my medium ( sandwich) and spicy (tender) were not spicy. The only difference I could taste was that spicy was smokier. I did take a bite of the mild which had more seasoning? They do it pretty fresh so when you first get it it's super hot. The seasoning had some heat feeling but the distinct flavor I tasted was some sugar mixed with like cayenne. The seasoning paired really well with the crinkle cut fries as you'd get like sprinkles of sugar and smokiness to make almost a bbq flavor, and the sauce is sort of like raising canes sauce. The pickles were nice and crunchy. I would prefer the sandwich, the slaw matches well to balance out the heat of meat. Tho my sandwich got squished and so the bread fell flat :(. The meat itself wasn't dry at all :). Packaging wise the paper bags are huuge! The box is unique in that you can tear off the top for easier access, but the top is also to close it properly which was nice. Besides that you just get napkins. I'm not sure if it would be worth the hour drive to go again personally, but if you're in the area! Value wise I'd say it's pretty to par with the $13 as they give a lot of fries and the meat is pretty big. It seems to have high reviews so go support a small business :). read more

I've had Main Chick at several of their locations already, and this one is just as tasty! I love Main Chick's chicken tenders and chicken sandwiches. Their seasoning is delicious, and the spice is perfect! I usually get a mild or medium depending on my mood. The mild has quite a bit of kick, and the medium has me sniffling. I have yet to try the spicy, and I don't think I'll get there anytime soon. I also appreciate the fact that they have DARK MEAT chicken sandwiches! It makes it even more juicy and flavorful, although their regular chicken sandwiches have always been juicy. They also have leg quarters, which usually take about 15 minutes to prepare, but it's so tender and tasty! I also am a fan of their fries! I generally don't prefer crinkle fries, but their is seasoned well and always so crispy. I dip it in their house sauce, and it's so good. Parking here is easy. This is another Hot Chix spot that I've had on my radar. A couple of weeks ago, my daughter and I got the chance to give it a try. It was during the heatwave but we decided what the heck and drove to the Long Beach location. Its located on the corner of Atlantic and Artesia blvd and shares a common seating area with a couple of other Eateries. Since we were coming from quite a distance, we called in our order as we drove there. When we finally got there, we walked in and was shocked there was no one in front of us. We were able to pick up our bag right away. From there we went out to the common seating area outside to inspect the goods! We ordered the Combo #3 (includes 2 sandos, fries, and come back sauce) and an additional spicy sando. As you're probably wondering, and so am I, WHY didn't I get the 'Supreme' spice level??? The simple/quick answer is IDFK!!!!! Let's just chalk that off to a brain fart! I'll have to return just to try that level. After unpacking the bag and inspecting the goods, we both tasted our respective sandos and found that it tasted fresh, was crunchy, had some decent heat, and was tender and juicy. I would say this sandwich was larger than a slider, but not a full-grown Sando. Hence, the price point of $5.50 is fitting. I tasted the fries and thankfully they were seasoned well and was served hot and with a little bit of a crunch. After the initial taste testing, we boxed everything back up and headed back home to finish it off. The food was still quite tasty when we arrived home. I really wish I would have had the spicier 'Supreme' sando as the Spicy barely tickled! My daughter thought her medium spice sando was perfect for her. I wasn't able to take pictures except one since I devoured my food! I have been looking for a new hot chicken place to try that's nearby and so happy main chick opened close to me! The food would probably be better if eaten there but I chose to eat it at home. Regardless of the 15 min drive It was still really good to me. The fries is crinkle which I love but extra crispy would make it 10/10 but that's just a preference thing. I loved the tenders! The sandwich was good the bun was a sweet bun which was different but good different. I will definitely be back!!! I got medium and mild to taste the difference. I got the combo #3 and combo #5 We got one of the sandwiches with white meat and one with dark meat (as per the manager recommendation) and WOW they were so tender and juicy. The outside was crispy and had lots of spices and flavor. I thought the mild and medium were perfect levels for me to enjoy everything without burning off my tongue. But if you like to taste the fire, they have levels that go up to SUPREME When driving home, we got hungry and ate some of the leftovers. Still so goooood. The sides were fries, creamy coleslaw, and Mac n cheese. These items were just ok in my opinion, but of course the main meal is the chicken. I am a huge fan of this new place! First off, the design aesthetic definitely serves to enhance the vitality and vibrancy of the surrounding area. The outdoor seating area is awesome and especially appreciated during COVID. There was also a few no-touch hand sanitizer stations. Moving onto the food - I got the dark meat chicken sandwich. In all honesty, the dark meat choice was a little too greasy for me... however, I did like that they actually offered a dark meat sandwich option because I have not seen many places do that. Been a huge fan since 2020; had no issue recommending this place to family, friends, and colleagues. Feedback was always positive. Before today, the last time I grabbed food here was in August. Unfortunately it seems there have been some major changes. The way the chicken is prepped and cooked is now different; even the chicken has a different taste and texture due to the skin being different. The tenders are hot and juicy, and the fries are well seasoned. I really like their seasoning, wish they could sprinkle some more. I always ordered the supreme for the spice level. It is definitely spicier than some other hot chicken place. However, i don't think the spice level is consistent. I have came here 7 times, there were 2 times it actually live up to the supreme level that my mouth was on fire. The other times, not so much, it was just mild. Absolutely terrible customer service. I ordered online on 11/1/23 and when I went to pick up, their soda machine was out of order, only iced tea available. They couldn't refund me as I ordered online and told me to contact chownow, or I can save and get my drink next time I ordered. I opt for the second option, get my drink next order. 12/4/23, when I came to pick up my order and brought up the iou drink, they told me "no, it's been too long" and to contact chownow. There was no time limit for the iou initially. Now I contacted chonow, slightly upset, chownow then informed me they can't refund as when they contacted the store, the store is going to look into it.
