I'm very split about this place. Okay first off their chicken is very juicy and crispy but I messed up when I ordered spicy cus it left my stomach BURNING. I don't mind that the problem is the chicken wasn't flavorful at all. All I tasted what that dry chili rub. Their fries are good as well as the MC sauce. The chicken sandwich itself is pretty small. Their Mac and cheese was okay. I had to pour their sauce and some Mac and cheese all over the sandwich to make the sandwich edible otherwise it was too spicy for me. I'm willing to give it another go but I'm afraid the chicken still won't be flavorful. read more

I use to order from here all the time and was satisfied on how much fries I get from the price. Best fries ever!!! I ordered on Tuesday and today which is these current pictures and I don't even get as much fries. It's the same as the combo. I remember getting more fries in the box. I don't think I will be ordering much from here anymore. It's really upsetting. read more

The french fries are so good possibly the best french fries I've ever had. Chicken tenders also amazing. The seasoning is just right and the quality of the chicken is excellent. Very moist and reheats well. Does take some time to get your food so definitely want to order ahead. It expensive, but totally worth it. read more

I fell in love with Nashville hot chicken when my wife took me to Howlin Rays. And I searched for places that are closer to Compton. Main chick Hot chicken was the first Name on the list. I ordered their #1. I went with hot for the sandwich and mild on the strip. They both completely blew my mind. The strip was so crunchy, so tender, so juicy, and so flavorful. I wanted another. I moved on to the sandwich. And oh boy the spice was the perfect level, to get my forehead sweating, but the flavor!!!!. GOT ME ADDICTED! We went from having no hot chicken places in the area to a bunch to try and compare. I love it. It's one of my fav foods and I can't believe it took me so long to try this place. Not to mention it's super close by. They are officially my new fav local place for hot chicken. I love the hint of sweetness in their heat which I think stands out from the rest. Also, the price is something that will keep me coming back as well. I love spicy food and mild was perfect for me. It was spicy but not too spicy to where your struggling and can't enjoy it. My bf got spicy and I liked it but def gives you more of a kick. Hahah sauces are great too! read more

Really good chicken! The mild has a good spicy kick, medium is pretty darn hot and I love spicy food. A bit on the pricey side (4 stars) but it's always juicy and flavorful. The crinkle fries have a slight kick but it's probably paprika seasoning in the mix. Also adding it's 2-person shareable for lunch meals or large quantity if you're eating solo. read more

Ok so let me start off with this: IF you like spicy, here's the place for you! Both my husband and I got the spicy chicken sandwiches (can't remember the names) but ohhhhh man! We literally were crying while eating it because it was wayyyyy to spicy that you couldn't enjoy the sandwich, YET it was SO delicious that we couldn't stop eating it either! I placed an order for 2 Combo 4s. This isn't my first time ordering with them I spent $70 worth of food and asked for a water cup and the guy at the front said we're out when there was a clear stack behind him. Rude. Anyways they packed my food this time with 2 boxes of chicken on top of the boxes of fries which makes no sense. The juices spilled from the chicken boxes and spoiled all over my seat. When I got home the fires were drenched with the juices of the chicken and some weren't even seasoned. To top it off one of the Chickens is shaped like a rat. Photo attached. I called 3 times to no answer and left a message. Fast forward to today I called a worker by the name of Kassandra is very rude. I state how I called and she says oh we can only give credit they won't give you a refund and that I should've called sooner when I called 3 times yesterday to no avail. She's very rude and I ask for a manager and she says my manager only speaks Spanish and doubts me on the packing being horrible the chicken being rude. I am still waiting for a call back from a supervisor she felt very entitled as if she owns the place. Attached is the picture. Keep in mind I would come here every other week with about 3 orders in the past month and this is the worse it's ever been. Lost a regular customer today. read more

If you like spicy chicken, come here! Placed an online order November 8th and it was yummy! Got the combo deal which comes with a drink, fries and 2 sandwiches. Great deal and very tasty, so it's amazing for my liking. Now I know what we're eating tomorrow for lunch. Customer service: helpful and quick. Wow! Saw they were having a soft opening yesterday on IG. Went down and tried both the white and dark chicken sandwiches. The white I got plain since i like to see how the chicken is by itself. It was amazing, juicy, crisp fried chicken filet that was a joy to eat. The dark meat I ordered with medium spice with their Nashville hot rub, the flavor was very nice and the chicken was even more juicy. This new northside addition is a must try if you're around this weekend. Right at the corner of Altantic & Artesia. Great first experience here. read more

Omg, best chicken I've ever had. I'm not a hot chicken connoisseur, but my statement still stands. Take from this review what you want. My first reaction was that the chicken was pleasantly creamy. Odd description, I know. But I love that rich creaminess of it. I got spicy tenders and a medium sandwich. Spicy was spicyy. I love my xx hot cheetos (black bag), those are spicy after a little while. But this chicken was SPICY. Good stuff. Fries are good; nice spice and crispiness level. Ok. Hot chicken and chicken sandwiches are all the craze right? Well, MAINCHICK , does it by far the best!!!! Tenders are huge, Sandwiches are incredibly delicious and the hindquarters are decadent. This place will surprise you, it is a hidden gem in north Long Beach and bringing something special to a neighborhood that needs it. The chicken is legit, you can't go wrong. Suggest going for the medium spice level, I'm a spice freak and can handle spicy but it's more enjoyable if you go medium as that still burns. Also recommend the sandwiches, bun and slaw really add to that special chicken. All in all, this place is a blessing to my taste buds but a curse to my weight. read more

I get it delivered so unfortunately sometimes it's kind of cold and presentation can be really messy :/ Other than that everything tastes good!! The chicken here is delicious. I love how juicy it is. I also really liked the tenders. They are really good with the sauce. I really like spicy chicken and when I have a craving I know this is the best place to go. The fries are so delicious and pair well with the sandwich. I love getting extra pickles. Kevin and Calvin are very friendly and really made me feel welcome. You can see the passion in their eyes when they talk about their sandwiches and all that they are doing. If you are looking for a very clean restaurant that runs efficiently, has excellent customer service, and rediculously delicious chicken that you fight over which finger to get the extra spices off look no further. During my recent visit to Long Beach, I decided to try Main Chick hot chicken and was pleasantly surprised. The menu was straightforward and easy to navigate, with pre-set combos that made ordering a breeze. I opted for combo #5, which included 2 Leg Quarters, a Bun, Seasoned Crinkle Cut Fries, Pickles, and 2 MC Sauce in the naked hotness level - all for about $15. Compared to other hot chicken places where everything is a la carte and can add up to $20-25 per person, Main Chick is quite affordable for the generous portions they serve. While the location may not be close to me, I would definitely make the trip back to Main Chick when I'm in the area again. They said it was spicy, but I'm a spicy fiend, so take that with a grain of hot sauce. It had a kick, but nothing too crazy. When I opened the bag, the packaging was visibly dirty, with grease stains, crumbs, and debris all over the container. It looked poorly handled and completely unappetizing. Presentation and cleanliness are basic expectations, especially for takeout and delivery. This felt unsanitary and raised concerns about how the food was prepared and handled before it even reached me. Unfortunately, I did not feel comfortable eating it. Main Chick is the best Hot Fried Chicken Spot I have ever had. I am a big Fried Chicken person and nothing compares to Main Chick! I ordered a Combo 3 which includes 2 Chicken Sandwiches, Side of Fries, and an MC Sauce that they make in house. I was given the option to add cheese to my sandwich and boy it made the sandwich so tasty. Yooo. This place is incredible. Cool little spot that just opened in Long Beach. Fried hot chicken is my thing and they killed it with their food. Flavor is next level. I stick with mild cause I'm not into spicy foods that much and it's perfect for me. The chicken is juicy, crunchy, and tender. What else could you ask for!!
