Delicious Hot Chicken. I ordered the Mild Combo #1, which came with 1 MC Sandwich, 1 Tender, Seasoned Fries, Pickles, and MC sauce. The sauce was absolutely perfect. It really qualifies in competing as the best comeback sauce in these hot chicken places. The sauce and tender are really up there with other big hot chicken places. The chicken tender was absolutely delicious. The seasoning, and the hot oil combined made a delicious flavor. I ordered mild and it did seem quite spicy, but the spice is what makes you addicted. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and breaded. The chicken itself was juicy, crispy, and overall flavorful. The MC sandwich is just the tender with some coleslaw and the bun. I would prefer if they included some MC sauce already in the sandwich, but they don't. The tender's are delicious enough, but the addition of the coleslaw takes it to another level. The tanginess, and sour taste of the coleslaw cuts the flavor of the chicken perfectly. the sandwich is truly a good balance of flavors. The fries I would say are mediocre. I believe they use the same seasoning as their chicken, which makes the fries flavor good. I would prefer if they were more crispy. Not to mention, I recommend pairing the sandwich or the tender with some pickles for that extra vinegary kick. The quality of the food was fantastic. The chicken tasted freshly fried, as well as the fries. The coleslaw tasted fresh. in terms of the presentation of food, I think they can improve. Dine-in was served on a prison like tray, in a to go box. It would be cool if they used baskets. To go boxes are fine too, it would just be cool to see the branding on the to go box. In terms of the price of the food I would say it is semi fair. They give a fairly large portion of fries. The total came to around $17, and it was just 1 tender and 1 sandwich. The tender itself was a reasonably big tender. Though, the sandwich felt small. It feels like they take the smallest tender of the bunch and choose that for the sandwich. If they knock it a couple bucks down, I would say it is extremely fair. Though, like stated, they did load it up with fries. The customer service was good. The staff was friendly and welcoming. We got our food noticeably fast. Though, I'm not complaining, it still tasted fresh and delicious. The ambiance of the place is ok. They have a nice modern vibe. The store has a nice neon sign. It is cramped in there with limited seating. The place was overall not that clean. Like stated, there was just a few seating places. I get that they can be busy but no matter what, you have to wash your hands between tasks like that.... I don't like doing it either but I do it when I'm working. I'm a huge spicy chicken fan and a lot of places do not hit my spicy level love. Main chick is hot hot hot and man is it spicy. I got the hot level next to the hottest level and wow wow wow was I sweating. Was it worth it, 1,000 percent yes. Rarely do places get it right with spicy but this place does. And I was actually lucky to try them at the 626 market and they were still in construction for this place in Pasadena at the time. I remember being so disappointed that at the market the chicken wasn't hot enough or fresh but here at their location it's always fresh and made to order. I know the store isn't physically opened yet but I got a chance to try Main Chick out at the 626 Night Market. I always struggle finding something to eat at the market because frankly I don't want to spend a lot on junky trend Instagram looking food that doesn't taste good. When I saw that you could get a slider, a chicken tender, and fries for a combo I was sealed. The slider was pretty much the size of a Shake Shack Burger so this was a lot of food. They only had 3 spice levels: mild, medium, hot. I got hot. I was pretty impressed. It was hot where I teared up a tiny bit and my nose was runny but it still tasty. Give me the pain and the taste. Now if anyone is wondering, this did satisfy my Howlin Rays craving BUT nothing compares still. Howlin has the FLAVORRRRR. However, I'm pretty happy to hear Main Chick is opening soon so I can have that fix without waiting in a line. I love this place and have been coming here for years. I really want to give 5 stars because the food and service have been great, but there is a young asian cashier who has no interest in doing her job. Each time I've come here lately she has messed up my order and really does not seem to care about it. She must be related to management because the Main Chick I knew and loved would never allow this. The most annoying part was that when I called the manager to inquire he gave attitude and worked from the assumption that I, as was the customer, was WRONG and he was right.
