Yummy fried chicken! I personally love the fried shrimp here-it's good! This place is a hole-in-wall that also serves American-Chinese food made to order. First time going here after driving past it on a weekly basis. Walking in you see the plastic partition full of printed specials and misc items (too busy). Not a great appearance and it also appears that they sell Chinese food there too. Appearance looks run down and not kept up.That being said I didn't have much confidence in good Louisiana chicken. Ordered fish nuggets and 3 piece chicken meal. The fries were good and chicken was ok. Drinks tasted more like going flat carbonated water instead of coke and sprite. I'd forgotten to order fried chicken for a party I was hosting. In a panic, I went to the restaurant two hours before the event. The woman who took my order was so nice. I asked if I could pick up 40 pieces of chicken in an hour and a half and she said it would be no problem. The chicken was ready as promised. Everyone loved the chicken. It was crispy and delicious. I have never been to Louisiana but I believe the flavor of this chicken has not really changed since I was about 10-12 years old. I do recall they had several locations that did not sell donuts and such, but I believe it is one of the better chicken places around. Beats the larger chains. Wow! I had another location like 15 years ago and wasn't impressed. This location though has really solid fried chicken, jumbo shrimp, and catfish! Fries are alright but it's nicely seasoned. I got#22 but I asked for 1 fish be swapped with a chicken thigh because I wanted to try everything and they kindly obliged. I'm never in the area but if I am this is now an option. This was an interesting experience. It's an Asian owned chicken place. I ordered the 16 piece meal. I looked at the photo and it was 32$ but actually was 49.50$ on arrival. I should have asked. The food was clean and great. The breast was a bit dry but the skin was crunchy. The spices on the skin was not bold but good. I saw a lot of people order the cat fish and they are busy so it's definitely a place that has fresh oil and is well visited. I was Approached twice for money outside the place so beware. Fantastic chicken. Good fries too. The portions are large and the service was super fast at lunch time. I devoured my food before taking a picture but I did managed to get a picture of the menu. Got the 3 piece special. Chicken was nicely seasoned and only mildly spicy (like black pepper; not chili) and juicy. The fries were actually seasoned and fried perfectly. I was craving some fried chicken and coleslaw and had been meaning to stop by this place on Lake. There was no wait but there was clearly steady busy because the parking lot was full and people were just leaving from getting takeout. Even my order of 3 pieces, coleslaw and rice came in mere seconds. I kid you not. Fried chicken had a good flavor and was not greasy. The coleslaw tasted fresh and crispy and cold.
