We had a delicious meal at Monty's that serves hot and cold sandwiches, chicken and waffles and breakfast all day! We tried their G-moe's cheesesteak - the bread was soft and the steak was perfectly seasoned and paired well with the cheese and mushrooms. We also had the steak breakfast burrito which is one of my tops on the area. The tortilla is thin, egg is fluffy, waffle fries are crisp and cheese and meat was spot on! Sweet potato fries and house-made potato salad were tasty too. The staff are friendly, prices and portions are great and easy parking in the plaza. Definitely recommend a visit!

Been hearing about this place and decided to finally come and check it out. The first time of having chopped cheese was in new york so when I heard there was a place near by that does that. It was a must try. Got two sandwiches Legendary chopped cheese, pack with meats and really flavorful and good! It's a big sandwich and they make their rolls in house. Italian godfather was the second sandwich and I felt that it was missing something, it wasn't pack with flavor much. I just added some banana peppers and it helped. Also a big sandwich. Staff really friendly and they cook and assemble in front of you. Parking can be a little tricky here because it shares a lot with other businesses. The chop cheese is a must try and I will be coming back for their chicken and waffles

Had a meeting today that ran late and I was craving fried chicken and Monty's, was on the way home. Chicken and waffles sounded good for dinner lol. So ordered ahead for pick up on Door Dash and got chicken and waffles, potato salad and an all American cheesesteak. Everything was delicious. Fried chicken was nice and crispy and the waffle was perfect! Cheesesteak was flavorful and tender and bread so soft! Everything just hit the spot. Will definitely be back to try more items! Food was handed over with a smile and service was good. There are some tables for eating in. Small quaint space.

Friendly staff, and the owner is super friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home. It's a great spot for lunch. We ordered Monty's No. 1 Chicken & Waffles, the Triple-Decker Club Sandwich, and the Breakfast Burrito with bacon. Everything arrived fresh and made to order. The 2pcs chicken was crispy, the waffles were light and fluffy. Triple decker club sandwich co loaded with fresh ingredients. The breakfast burrito was filling with flavorful bacon. Overall, it's a great neighborhood spot for a satisfying breakfast/ lunch with excellent hospitality.

Update to my review.... So I took the other half of the cheesesteak to work today for lunch. Heated it up and took a bite and the same overpowering Parmesan like taste was there. I opened it up and noticed that it was absolutely overloaded with garlic. I have a feeling the flavor was the garlic. And also there was no cheese in it because DoorDash doesn't ask you which cheese you want on your sandwich. So again, I probably would not order this again unless I told them no garlic and to add the cheese. I mean it is a cheesesteak so there should be cheese on it. The chopped cheese number one in my book right now.

Went on a Monday night and they were so busy!! We ordered the chopped cheese and g-moes but unfortunately they gave us two chopped cheese. We called and they were super nice about it and gave us the g-moes plus the godfather which we really appreciated it! As for the sandwiches, we thought the chopped cheese was pretty average (3/5), the bread got filling ratio was off and there could have been a bit more flavor but it does the job! The g-moes was really what stood out to us (4/5. The flavors blended really nicely together and the filling to bread ratio was better. The onions and mushrooms worked well with it and every bite was savory, garlic aioli paired well too! The godfather was mid (3/5), pretty standard, needs red onions or something but wouldn't go back for it. Overall I'd get the g-moes again and try their other hot sandwiches! I appreciate that they took care of us for the wrong order!

I've been to Monty's twice now. First time was a great experience. I believe the owner was there and he seemed very passionate about the menu and ingredients they used. However, I went for a second time yesterday and was deeply disappointed. The owner wasn't there and instead a younger girl took my order and prepared the food. Everything seemed well and fine until I got home, opened my patty melt and found not 1 but 2 long hairs in my sandwich! They were clearly her hairs since she was the only one who handled my food. I went back and returned everything. I didn't see a hair in my other sandwich but couldn't even eat it without thinking what could be in each bite. The same girl was there when I returned and a young guy. I spoke with the guy and he gave me a refund right away and apologized. The girl who had made my food was maybe 5 feet away and couldn't even turn around to look at me or apologize. Very disappointing since the owner seemed like a nice guy who probably works extremely hard to build and maintain his business, only to have it ruined by some employee who couldn't even care enough to take 5 sec to put on a hair net. Shame on her.

Alhambra is a unique melting pot of different cuisine from different places but I found a hidden gem in a shopping center in Alhambra just block a away from the 10 Freeway called Monty's Alhambra it's a sandwich shop serving cold and hot sandwich and other delicious delights. When I walk in I was greeted by owner of the restaurant then I look at their menu board. They have unique sandwiches their version of Philly cheesesteak including chicken version they also their version of a Chicago Italian beef. A classic patty melt also and other classic a French dip is Monty's French dip is better than Philippe the Original or Cole's French dip next I need to try it. Monty's serve chicken & Waffles their own version on Belgian waffles served with maple syrup & hot sauce. Also served breakfast but only three items on the menu. Also they cold sandwiches like the Italian Godfather and the Midwick When I was looking at the menu it was hard to pick I decided to the Turkey Hoagie changing my mind then I told the owner what he recommended he told the Granada their version of Philly cheesesteak with chicken I decided to order it. It took a while because everything is made fresh and also made to order and the owner brought my sandwich to my table he was so nice. I unwrapped my sandwich it sell really nice release the warm hot stream smell wonderful. The sandwich was cut in half I decided spead the sandwich it looks great. The Granada has chicken, grilled onions, banana peppers, bacon, creamy ranch, pepper jack on a Hoagie roll. A very popular sandwich at Monty's. I took a bite the sandwich I say wow incredible, juicy, pack with multiple flavors in a sandwich. The ingredients combine together in one incredible sandwich. The chicken is well season with flavor and cook with grilled onions and rhe banana peppers with pepper jack cheese bring flavor like sweet and sour in a good term in flavor but creamy ranch add other layer of flavors can you mind can handle multiple layers of flavor I yes. Overall I enjoy the sandwich very much would thanks the owner for the suggestion to try the Granada thank you.

Staff was nice, tunes were on point, food was delicious. The chicken was crispy and juicy. The only thing I'd change is that our Chicken and waffles were served on a serving tray and no plate. Don't understand that part. Also hot as hell in there. No fans or AC. I'd definitely go back but not in the summer.

This spot eats and so will you! We ordered online to avoid waiting, not too sure how fast they are with orders. There was a bit of a line of 5-7 people on a Friday afternoon around 12pm. Legendary Chopped Cheese -sooo good! Everything meshed well together. If you're feeling a juicy beef sandwich that tastes so much like a classic burger with a twist this one is it. All America Cheesesteak -perfect for those picky kiddos since it's pretty plain other than caramelized onions that blends well with the beef. Chicken & Waffle -a must try, the waffle has the prefect chew. If they had waffle on its own on the menu I would order a few. Chicken was a bit dry but I loved that there isn't much of a batter and mostly deep fried crispy chicken skin which I personally like.

3.8 stars I wasn't sure what to have for lunch, but this restaurant has been on my list for some time, so I decided to stop by. I ordered the Legendary Chopped Cheese ($12) and wasn't disappointed! The sandwich is a hefty boy and very cheesy and greasy. I think it's perfect for winter when everyone needs a bit more fat to feel warm! Anyways, it had grilled onions, cheddar, lettuce, and tomatoes. I'm happy to report that they are generous with the portion. The only thing I wasn't a big fan of was the bread. It's heavy, soaks all the juices a little too well, and had kind of a cake-like texture. The bread wasn't for me, but I liked everything else. Service was the friendly, order-at-the-counter type. There is free parking on site, but it does get packed at night. I'll be back to try their philly cheesesteaks and chicken & waffles in the future.

Since this location of Monty's is located right off the 10 freeway, I pass by it often. For a long time I planned to stop by to try their food. I like the orange color scheme and clean, simple decor. It was very clean and felt spacious inside. There were two people working inside when I went and both greeted me right upon entry. They were friendly and we had a nice chat while I waited or the food. They have signs inside saying one can order ahead on their website and pick up the food. I only noticed the fried chicken and waffle menu. While it is not part of my usual diet, it was a great treat during a very busy week at work. The sizzling sound of the fryer whet my appetite as I waited for the food. To me the food appeared to be higher quality than other chicken and waffle places in town. The chicken was crispy and not overly heavily battered or breaded. The waffle was soft and sweet with both confectioner's sugar on it and maple syrup, as well as hot sauce, on the side. They threw in an extra small piece on top of my order. Nice touch. I only noticed the chicken and waffle menu when I walked in because it was up front, but their sandwich menu looked delicious and I will definitely be back to try it.

This place popped up on Yelp for me once and the reviews for the chicken and waffles were pretty good. I'm not going to lie, I had very low expectations based on the look of the place, the location and the fact I'm usually disappointed when it comes to fried chicken. Well, I finally tried this place and I was pleasantly surprised. The reviews were actually accurate! The fried chicken had a flavorful and crunchy skin and the chicken itself was juicy. Also, it wasn't oily! The waffle was also good; however, I took it to go so it was a little soft by the time I got home - it tasted good though and that's what matters. If you're looking for some good comfort food and this place is close to you, definitely give it a try. I will definitely be back. This restaurant is located in a little strip mall by the entrance to the 10 Fwy. There' is ample parking but it was pretty full around 6 p.m. Cars were coming in and out so just wait a few minutes and you should be able to score a spot. There were a few tables to dine in if that's your preference.

I arrived in Alhambra one Sunday afternoon with the intention to hit 4 food spots to redeem free offers. They are part of the 24 participating restaurants in the food passport. Very short walk from parking to restaurant. First time at PYC. I was lucky to get here thirty minutes prior to closing time. They specialize in breakfast and brunch only. Their free passport offer is 1 Benedict Entree or 1 French Toast Entree. Dine in only and no substitutions. Thanks PYC! Interior space was quite nice and vibey. Tables were clean. Ambiance was relaxing and cozy. Love the beautiful yellow decor! Plenty of inside seating with no exterior seating. Mia was the young lady staff who welcomed me with a friendly greeting and took my order. She was super nice, patient, and helpful. Other staff members were cordial and attentive. Thanks Mia and All! WOW, what a super amazing free food offer! I didn't hesitate and got the Avocado Benedict. Both eggs were perfectly poached. Avocado was just ripe. Ham slices were thick and tasty. Hollandaise sauce was rich and buttery with a bit of tangy taste. Just one small gripe, the english muffin did not appear to have been toasted. It was tough to cut through. Other than that, it was a fantastic benedict entree for a first timer like myself. I was feeling hungry so I also got an order of Ube French Toast and one Mango Green Tea (refillable). Another WOW, delicious house ube filling in a deep-fried toast topped with semi-sweet coconut flakes and fresh blueberries along with a drizzle of maple syrup and condensed milk. VERY YUMMY! This one is a winner! Mango green tea had deep tropical and tea flavors... nice drink! Menu has a great variety of egg benedicts and crunchy french toasts along with sandwiches, omelettes, burgers, crepes, waffles, pancakes, salad, and snacks. Prices were reasonable for the huge portions. Highly recommend! Love to return to try their other specialty breakfast and brunch items. I just need to get here early.
