Update to my review.... So I took the other half of the cheesesteak to work today for lunch. Heated it up and took a bite and the same overpowering Parmesan like taste was there. I opened it up and noticed that it was absolutely overloaded with garlic. I have a feeling the flavor was the garlic. And also there was no cheese in it because DoorDash doesn't ask you which cheese you want on your sandwich. So again, I probably would not order this again unless I told them no garlic and to add the cheese. I mean it is a cheesesteak so there should be cheese on it. I've been to Monty's twice now. First time was a great experience. I believe the owner was there and he seemed very passionate about the menu and ingredients they used. However, I went for a second time yesterday and was deeply disappointed. The owner wasn't there and instead a younger girl took my order and prepared the food. Everything seemed well and fine until I got home, opened my patty melt and found not 1 but 2 long hairs in my sandwich! They were clearly her hairs since she was the only one who handled my food. I went back and returned everything. I didn't see a hair in my other sandwich but couldn't even eat it without thinking what could be in each bite. The same girl was there when I returned and a young guy. I spoke with the guy and he gave me a refund right away and apologized. The girl who had made my food was maybe 5 feet away and couldn't even turn around to look at me or apologize. Since this location of Monty's is located right off the 10 freeway, I pass by it often. For a long time I planned to stop by to try their food. I like the orange color scheme and clean, simple decor. It was very clean and felt spacious inside. There were two people working inside when I went and both greeted me right upon entry. They were friendly and we had a nice chat while I waited or the food. They have signs inside saying one can order ahead on their website and pick up the food. I only noticed the fried chicken and waffle menu. While it is not part of my usual diet, it was a great treat during a very busy week at work. The sizzling sound of the fryer whet my appetite as I waited for the food. To me the food appeared to be higher quality than other chicken and waffle places in town. The chicken was crispy and not overly heavily battered or breaded. The waffle was soft and sweet with both confectioner's sugar on it and maple syrup, as well as hot sauce, on the side. They threw in an extra small piece on top of my order. Nice touch. My boyfriend is a cheap date. He is a simple guy who loves sandwiches. We came to Monty's on a weekend to see what the hype is all about. They are located in a small strip retail area with a private lot. I don't see people stumbling here unless they were intentionally looking for it. The shop was quaint but full of passion and love from their staff. They were so friendly and welcoming. Henry was especially nice, providing his recommendations based on you preference. My boyfriend had the Legendary Chopped Cheese ($12) and I had the French Dip ($14). We shared the Waffle Fries ($6.50) and they provided complimentary pickles and peppers. Food is made to order so be patient. You order and pay at the cashier, then seat yourself. They had 4 tables for 2 and 1 table for 4. The shop is really small. We were really lucky to get seating. I would feel stressed if I came with a larger group but we actually saw many families come here. When our food was ready, Henry called us over to have us pick which pickles and sauces we wanted with our order, and then he kindly offered to take it to our table. He's so nice! I thought the sandwiches were really big and affordable for their portion size. My boyfriend liked his chopped cheese, but did not enjoy it as much as the one we had in New York. Gave Monty's a second try and I will be a returning customer. Shout out to the manager Henry for reaching out and Moises for the amazing food recommendations and service. I got the Poblano Cheesesteak, garlic fries, and Italian Beef with sides of jalapeno aioli. The Italian beef comes with steak, grilled onions, pepperoncini, banana peppers, calabrian chiles on a hoagie roll with a side of au jus broth. Personally I thought the peppers inside the sandwich really made the beef shine. Not sure if it really went well with the au jus broth due to the acidity of the pickles but the broth itself was thick and beefy. The Poblano came steak, grilled onions, poblano peppers, white american cheese on a hoagie roll. A great tip given to us was to mix the cheese so add a stringy cheese like Swiss to get the two cheese textures. The poblano was nicely charred with a nice pepper flavor. Personally however I think the plain All-American Cheesesteak is still the best with the gooey melty cheese and meat when you're really just craving comfort and hearty food. OK, just ordered a sandwich to go. Came to the counter promptly the employee put the sandwich in a paper bag folded the top twice and off I went I've been announced to me. Friends were raving about this place and invited my husband and I to join. They are located next to the Michoacana ice cream place and the same plaza as 7-11 off the freeway on Fremont Ave. The cashier/owner (?) Was very helpful and nice! He explained their sandwiches and how the pastries were from a partnership with another bakery. Everything we ate was soooooo good. Flavor was on point and sandwiches were not stale. The fries were crispy on the outside and soft inside. Just how we like it. We tried the chicken and waffles and it was delicious. Crispy and juicy chicken, nice flavor, and waffles were made fresh. We've already stopped by a second time since and the flavors were still on point. Definitely give them a try. read more

Ambiance: small, hole-in-the-wall place that was pretty bustling with customers. We tried calling in our order, but the number was linked to someone outside the restaurant. We tried making our order on their online order form, but it wasn't working either. Service: We asked the cashier if our order went through, she informed us that it didn't. But we made the orders with her and there were a couple of tables waiting for their orders to be fulfilled before us. It took about 20 minutes for our order to be ready. Food: I got the breakfast burrito with sausage (there's bacon, sausage and steak options, but steak is +$2). It was a decent burrito, good amount of filling. I particularly liked the waffle fries added in burrito because it added texture and seasoning. Only gripe was that there was no proper salsa that went with the burrito. The burrito itself was $10, which I feel like it is fair pricing these days. Overall, probably not the place to get the best breakfast burrito.. but the waffles and sandwiches might be the better choice! read more

Ordered the Monty's Favorite (chicken and waffles) and the chopped cheese sandwich. My favorite was the chopped cheese. Surprisingly good! I can't compare it to the ones you get in New York as I've never had it there. It was very flavorful - beef patty was well seasoned, loved the grilled onions and melted American cheese. Recommend! The chicken and waffles were good but I think I wanted more from the Belgian waffles. Tasted like any waffles I've had - wasn't that fluffy and deep pocketed like a Belgian waffle. It was just a normal waffle. Fried chicken was also okay, nothing too special and hot sauce wasn't that spicy. Overall, I'd go with getting the sandwiches over the chicken and waffles. I'd come back to order sandwiches. It's located in a small plaza by the 10 freeway. I got my food to go and someone picked it up so I can't say too much about the seating space. read more

Good lord, this place rocks. It's a small clean little shop in a tiny plaza just before a freeway entrance. Parking can get a little tight but it should be fine. The employees have always been really friendly. This place does sandwiches, fried chicken, and breakfast stuffs. The sandwiches are particularly good! Almost everything here is $14 or less. Legendary Chopped Cheese - It's delicious! I should mention this was my first time having Chopped Cheese and I'm not entirely sure if it's "authentic" as some people would say, but dang I really enjoyed it! Jalapeno Pepper Patty Melt - Very meaty, it's two beef patties and the pickled jalapenos really stand out. It's not my favorite here but was still tasty. G-Moe's Cheesesteak - Well, it's a solid cheesesteak! There isn't too much to elaborate here besides that it hits all the check marks of one. Fried Chicken - Pretty good! Crispy skin, juicy meat. You can request white or dark meat. Waffle was fluffy. Honestly, this was pretty solid, but I think the sandwiches are a better item to order here. Garlic Fries - Actual diced/minced garlic on waffle fries. It's delicious but I'm not sure about $10 delicious. The Midwick - The only cold sandwich I've had here and by god it was awesome. It's so meaty, and the garlic aioli really shines through. I think I'll get this again next time. Honestly, everything here is pretty solid and for the most part a reasonable price point for what you get (except the fries) I want to come back and try more items off the menu, but based off what I have tried so far, I would recommend the Legendary Chopped Cheese and Midwick sandwiches the most! read more
