Our party of seven recommends the Main Deck for drinks, burgers, and appetizers. The ambiance and decor were very inviting. There is a beautiful view of the water and lots of outdoor seating. Several entrees tasted good, but portions were too small for the prices. The airline cut of the chicken was ironic, since the portion size was airline size. One appetizer and one dessert had both cold and hot elements, but that wasn't intentional. Our service was responsive and friendly, but not what I would expect for the prices we paid. Examples are that our server brought out the hot appetizers, and then proceeded to take our dinner orders. Another example is removing the dinner plate in front of one person in the party while others were still eating. All in all, this is a nice environment, worth visiting for a drink and a burger. read more

Everything was horrible! The food was sub-par. My adirondack hash bowl was burnt. The breakfast sandwiches came with french fries. There was no breakfast for children on the kid's menu. They had run out of prosecco 2 days prior and hadn't bought more. This was Sunday Brunch! We came in with 9 people and everyone complained about their food. Only decent item was breakfast tacos. Not only do they need a new chef, they also should hire a new manager. We will not return. Overall good food. I had the scallops and they were well cooked. We were disappointed by the service. We got there early (5:20) and didn't receive food until almost 7pm. We had a toddler with us, and they were kind about that and got her food out first. For the price, the service should've been more efficient. read more

Visited on a Monday night from out of town and after one visit, I think you're sleeping on Tunnel Bar. TB on Monday night is your home bar with great service. It's a friendly environment with a great view, access to yard games and had a great deal on wings. The rest of the menu was priced reflective of a tourist area. We are locals who have eaten here a few times. Nothing to rave about but decent. Today's experience was terrible and so bad, we will never return. The buffet for Mother's Day was disgusting. The food was cold. The beef couldn't be cut even with a knife. The chef at the carving station was miserable. The waitress had such bad body odor and she kept reaching over everyone. She literally only poured us water but because we were a big group, they charged us 20% tip. Our bill was near $800 and we literally ate nothing. As someone in our party said, "this is worse than hospital cafeteria food." For a place like this who tries to pretend they are an upscale restaurant, they have a long ways to go. So disappointing. Had a great experience at the Tunnel Bar tonight. Enjoyed the Weds special of $2 chicken/beef and $4 shrimp tacos. $5 peach margarita was good too. Topped off the meal with fried raspberry cheesecake with hot fudge sauce...yummy. Service was friendly and timely. Main Deck is such a cool place with area boating history highlighted. Was a little chilly tonight so are indoors but out door seating looks really comfortable overlooking beautiful Keuka Lake. Will definitely come again. read more

The food was very disappointing. I ordered the seared sea scallops. It was $42 for 3 small scallops that were rubbery and tasteless. They were served not on creamed corn, but on watery steamed corn that tasted like it was out of a frozen steamer bag. Our waitress was lovely, the ambiance was fine. There were black flies buzzing around while we were eating. Everything was underseasoned and tasted as if it had been made at least a day in advance. DO NOT EAT HERE. read more

The food is terrible and overpriced. The scallops were like $42 and you literally got 3 medium to small sized Aldi's scallops that were fishy. The creamed corn sauce that the scallops came in was almost inedible and had weird "crunchy" bits in it. Altogether we got two drinks and the two scallop "diners" and the bill was $109 plus tip. They called the meals dinners but you seriously only got the 3 scallops and some sauce. No bread, no salad, no sides. They might get away with this with the lake people but us locals won't put up with this. The view is great, the waitress was great the food is not worth it. Save your money and go to any of the other restaurants in the area and the food will be cheaper and better. If you need the view, go to the Switz. read more

Good grief! What a fun, happy, clean, efficient, and delicious place! We had drinks at the bar and the bartender was smiling and making fabulous suggestions. When we went to our table the host was smiling and gave us a table overlooking the lake. Our server, Jason, efficient, smiling the whole way making great suggestions. We just had a fabulous time. I can't recommend this place more. It's beautiful. The food, absolutely came so quickly. We were a bit surprised because of how busy the place was. The food was hot, the attention to detail on each plate was amazing. Don't be silly and make a dumb mistake and order the desserts which were fabulous! Very mediocre experience. Food does not live up to the descriptions. Often unseasoned, bizarre combinations that didn't work, frozen fruit in cobbler which was undercooked - hard to believe that a simple fruit cobbler was messed up. Also, the music was awful. The good: this place has potential. Ambiance was great. The decor was very nice & we liked the view a lot. The service was kinda slow but our waitress was doing her best. They only had one bartender and two waitresses trying to take care of the entire lunch rush on a Saturday. Legacy, our sever, was very apologetic & genuinely frustrated with the kitchen and comped our unsatisfactory meals. The menu provided was only lunch and we were under the impression it was brunch. Probably our fault. The not so great: the food. Our cheese board came out with hard cheese that had not been stored properly or was just old and bad. They gave us 50% credit. The chicken in the kids menu was not cooked. It was medium rare chicken. They took it off our bill and brought us a free one too. read more

We came here for a friend's wedding and were pleasantly surprised. From the friendly bartenders serving up wonderful wine and cocktails to the attentive wait staff and tasty food, it was a very nice time. I had the filet for dinner and it was delightfully yummy. The wedding cake was so moist and the best part was that it wasn't ridiculously sweet. The fire table was a perfect after dinner setting for coffee and drinks. Great ambience too! read more

During a stay at an AIRBNB on Keuka Lake, we ventured into Penn Yan for dinner. Yelp to the rescue again. We have nothing but high praise for this place. From the location (gorgeous view of the lake), to the build out and decor (incredibly well done and classy), to the food, we were very impressed. I had to chuckle that in a review, someone questioned why someone would have rabbit on the menu. My husband was so dang happy to see it on the menu and had it for dinner, not to mention I've seen it on several upscale spots in upstate NY. The preparation was incredible...the sweet tomato paired well with the tasso, and the lemon ricotta was the perfect creamy addition. I had the lobster pot pie and it was wonderful as well. The bechamel sauce was incredibly creamy and the proportion of the lobster with the veggies was perfect. The crunchy phyllo crust was delectably crisp, with flaky layers. In addition, we had both the beef tartare and the Spicy Pork Belly Rillette Crostini. Both apps were outstanding,. The pork belly dish was interesting and very unique (and delicious), and the beef tartare was exquisite. We typically sit at the bar when we eat.....we enjoy talking to the bartenders as well as the other patrons. We had wonderful service and the cocktails were inventive and very good. I had one that I cannot remember the name, but it had gin and had a salty sea like taste with a piece of nori...I know that sounds like a weird capture, but it was so good and refreshing. I also had Champagne and my husband had a wonderful NY whiskey sour and the Golden Hour spicy margarita. The views cannot be beat. We are getting ready to head back to upstate NY in a couple of months and this will definitely be on our repeat performance list! read more

They can't seem to get their service right. I have visited four times in the last 3 years and each time 30+ minutes from order to food delivered(once over 90 minutes!). Meals on offer good enough, veggie dishes available, and nice view of Keuka Lake (inside or outside) so not all bad. read more

They've done a great job with the renovation; the nautical decor is perfect. The menu is fairly eclectic for the area and probably works for the visiting summer crowd but a different menu for the winter/local crowd would bring in a lot more business. People want good food, doesn't need to be crazy unique. The wine list is diverse and not just FLX wines, which is nice. Sometimes the by-the-glass selection is minimal. There's an employee in the bar area who wears very strong perfume/essential oils that permeates the whole area. The info on the facebook page and website is often unreliable. Friday night music is a plus. All in all, it's a nice addition to the area albeit somewhat pretentious for Penn Yan. read more

We ordered appetizers and I can honestly say it wasn't t much better. The hush puppies were over cooked and burnt and the burrata tasted like cottage cheese with olive garnish. Came here last summer with a party of about 7. Sat around sunset (8:30pm), didn't leave until 11:45pm. Service was awful, food was undercooked, including my steak which I waited an hour and a half for it to be raw. I wanted it medium well. It was Smashburg Wednesday at The Main Deck. Great burger. The appetizer of Brussels sprouts was amazing. We shared a strawberry shortcake dessert that was delicious. Great way to celebrate a birthday for a friend. The service was great and we had a chance to have a conversation with Tim the owner. There's no bad place to set as the large windows give a panoramic view of beautiful Keuka Lake. Look forward to return visits! read more
