Local IPA and a Local Bubbly
    Dan M.

This place was fantastic. We sat at the bar and got a couple drinks. Views were 10/10 and a beer and a bubbly was only $15. Don't listen to weirdos like Mark T who rate places without trying it because he came on a day they're advertised as closed. The food looked good but we didn't get to try it bc we just ate. 5/5 would totally come back and recommend to friends.. Service was attentive and friendly..

Delicious New England Clam Chowder, amazing Haddock special. I ordered mine broiled and my husband had it fried. Both were great! Seasonal veggies were cooked to perfection and the coleslaw was excellent! To top it off, the staff is super friendly and the view is ridiculously beautiful!! We ended up booking a room at their lodge and we plan on visiting again!!!

I ponder the menu, it's a decent sized menu, with a good amount of items I decided to go for my old standby, the poutine. I put in my order, and he brings it back quick. It was a decent portion. The fries were well seasoned, crispy on the outside, yet tender on the inside. They were very good. The gravy. Was just the right texture. Not too thin, and not too thick. It was a good quality gravy. It had a deep rich flavor. The one problem, is that there was a very small amount of the cheese curds. They were basically not even the full cheese curds, just little chunks here and there. What cheese curd I got was good, there just was hardly any of it. Let's face it. Poutine without cheese curds is just "gravy fries." Even though there was hardly any of the cheese, curds, overall, it was still a good meal. I left stuffed. Poutine and a soda, the price was reasonable. I would like to try some of the other items on the menu. Thanks.

Service was very friendly and accommodating. We'd visited the original location multiple times in the past, but the Watkins Glen location right on the lake is great. A nice variety of craft beer and cocktails are on the menu and flights are available even outside. The food menu has a good variety of items and everything being served around us looks tasty. We snacked on the poutine, which was loaded with gravy and very good. Lucky Hare produces a solid line-up of beers that include a variety of styles from IPA & Bitters to Stoudts & red ales. Nice place to relax.

I'd have to say that my favorite thing about this place is the outdoor patio views. You get great sunsets here and are on the Seneca lake waterfront amongst the marina boats. These make it worth a visit. Also, these are the two reasons I'm giving this a three star rating and not a two. I do have to say that I didn't find the food or the service that exceptional. There is a lot of fried foods and what I would consider one step up from bar foods. The clam chowder and the ahi tuna salad were good choices. Their cheese burger was ok but not great. The staff seemed rushed, weren't really smiling or engaging or seemingly having fun. None were that memorable or made an impression including the bar tender. I requested to be seated in a specific area outdoors but even though there were tables still available they said it was "too busy". Before I even got my first drink they were seating other guests at those same tables for newer arriving guests. Yes, I noticed. It wasn't even close to closing or full capacity but most of the evening I felt like everyone working there were trying to rush us out the door so that they could go home. We had ordered an exceptional amount of food and drinks just so we could try a wide selection of their offerings. There were only two of us but we literally had three full drinks on the table and another full meal of uneaten food yet and the waitress was asking us if we were ready to leave and check out. In general, sure I might stop in for a quick drink and a view on a sunny day but I wouldn't entertain eating there again or spending my valuable time there. There are far better choices in the town of Watkins Glen.

Didn't mind too much because we didn't have to be anywhere though so enjoyed savoring our drinks and people watching since we were on the sidewalk. Perfect fall night for just that. For cocktails, we got the Lakewood sparkling And a glass of red wine. The sparkling went great with the Mussels we got for our appetizer. Also enjoyed our entrées of Halibut and Chicken. The halibut was definitely better and more interesting. The chicken was fine just not as much flavor. Probably wouldn't order it again.

We discussed what I wanted and then she recommended local wines to pair with my meal. Everything here is farm-to-table and the quality of the ingredients are what stood out in this experience. I started off with an order of the house sourdough bread. Nothing fancy, but everything I wanted. For an appetizer, I ordered the PEI Muscles as recommended by my waitress. These were Prince Edward Island mussels, cilantro and garlic in a red curry cream sauce served with warm baguettes. This was incredible. The flavors, the sauce, the crispy bread, it all went so well together. For my main I ordered the Duck Margaret. Dry rubbed duck breast, rosemary polenta, asparagus, pickled celeriac, and a side of ancho chili sauce. This dish was on their specials menu for the day however I have seen it listed on their website previously. The duck was tender and juicy, the asparagus cooked to perfection, and the polenta took this dish over the top. For me, I was not loving the ancho chili sauce, so I was very thankful to have this on the side. Graft is currently rated a 9.9 on my Beli and this is all thanks to their excellent service and the fresh high quality ingredients they use to prepare their food.

Love the staff, Suzanne and her team are incredible. I had never met her before my first encounter at my Mom's 80th bday, but she treated me like a friend and recognized us on our return visit for Mother's Day. The tea is amazing! Our first visit was for a tea party and we rented one of her rooms. They really did up the place, the tea sandwiches were amazing! The tea options were out of this world. We all had fun trying all the different teas. The men at the party had a great time as well. It's not just for the ladies. Desert was blueberry buckle and chocolate mousse. Both insanely delicious. My mother had such a wonderful time there. I took her back for Mother's Day and they did not disappoint. Same friendly service, Suzanne came out to say hello. Friendly as ever. We had the Mother's Day brunch which was a bowl of very fresh fruit. A strawberry and blueberry crepe, which was the most delicious crepe I have ever had, the crepe itself melted in your mouth. 2nd course was eggs Benedict, perfectly poached eggs, perfect amount of hollandaise sauce. Usually restaurants put too much sauce, the ham stood out, the flavor of everything together was out of this world. The tea was delicious and d the final course was blueberry buckle. Which we took to go because we were so stuffed, but I've had it here before and it's soooo delicious! I can't wait to break into it for my evening sweet treat! Definitely recommend, Watkins Glen needed a place like this. My mother and I are adding it to our regular rotation. The decor is eclectic, it was a bank and a law office before a restaurant, and I love how they have decorated it. Keeping some of the old world charm of its history.
