We came here for a work sponsored event. The food was set up buffet style and the meat was dry. It was overall edible food, but nothing to write home about. We then moved on to the arcade/game area as we had 3 hours of unlimited play. It was a little disappointing as a lot of the game machines were broken or not properly working. There are also no tables nearby any of the games to place drinks on so that makes it difficult to have a drink while playing. The bowling area is good and the automated screen with animated options is fun. The best part is this place by far is the laser tag. It is a two level play area and very well done. My husband and I had such a great time at the Main Event in Tempe together for a company party we thought we would come back for a date night which we rarely get maybe every 5 or so years! Yes it is that bad. We really work too much. They have a special going on $14.99 before noon and $19.99 after noon all you can play activity pass. When we arrived we learned that the pass is for bowling, laser tag and the obstical course only. Bowling was a 3 hour wait, and laser tag was full for the night. I thought we were early birds at 4:00pm. We decided to play some video games instead, but it was $40 per hour for the 2 of us. Okay so our night started with a fight of about 15 people involved. Now this isn't the venues fault but it does set up how our night went. 1/2 (literally) of the machines are broken in some way. 3/5 skiball machines just take your credits and don't let you play. 1/2 of the Guitar hero guitars don't work. 2/4 of the guns on halo game don't work. Need I continue on that? The food was WAY overpriced. We went bowling and got a sliders platter that had 9 sliders, 2 cheesy breadsticks, and a bowl of deep fried pickles. I think there was one more veggie item but I can't remember. $70, you read that right, something that is a sampler platter at Chili's for $35 is 2x that here. Bowling was fun but I had to spend over $100 on 2 lanes for an hour. I also put all of our shoes sizes in online which let me tell you asking my friends their shoe size is awkward, and for it to not transfer over. So I had to ask again at Main Event. Laser tag was honestly the only thing I have no complaints about. Price wasn't horrid and it was genuinely fun, just wish it was more than 15 minutes. When we were all done we wanted to cash in our tickets but almost NOTHING in the gift shop had a price tag on it and when they took our cards they never gave them back with a balance. They just took them. I will say that server was nice and she got us our orders quickly. Overall just go to Dave n Busters or an actual bowling alley. This location has gone downhill! I remember being there 5 years ago with my family and the service was amazing and the place was clean. Last night, the tables were trashed for hours, absolutely nowhere to sit, not to mention you need to make reservations to sit at any table. I finally sat at the bar and watched 6 tables not be cleaned for an hour, but you have to make reservations? After 3 hours of waiting to bowl, we never had a host take our drink and food order at our bowling lane! I finally gave up and walked to the bar and back to my lane. The management should be embarrassed that the dining areas where piled with plates and cups everywhere! If your short staffed, managers should get out and clean, not sit in the back smoking and joking! Place is just totally scuzzy period! Will never be going back! Absolutely miserable. We went there for a kid's birthday party. They reserved bowling lanes for the party, but they weren't ready for an hour and a half past the reservation time. So the group of 30 hung out in the lobby like idiots waiting. And it's not like we could mingle because the music was so painfully loud. Can't express enough gratitude for Joel, Ryan and Christina who organised a truly wonderful Make-A-Wish send off party for one of our Wish-Kids recently. We have sent off 60 Wish-Kids together and this team and venue went all out for us. Custom graphics on the big screens and bowling allies, huge ice cream bigger than our Wish-Kid's head. I booked a party for my sons birthday when we arrive 15 mins early and was told we didn't have a table. When asked for a manager one never showed up. Did not get to do any of the unlimited activities in the 2 hours of the party due to wait times. Why doesn't party attendees on a timed block get priority because they are TIMED? My package also included winners choice pts but the attendant told me my child didn't have them and never followed up with management. Every game I played was either not working or missing props (like the plastic balls) to make the game playable. All the money I spent on points were wasted as I couldn't play the games I swiped. I think this is the first time I have visited since the pandemic, wow this place has gone down hill. Literally 1/4 of the games didn't work. Had a problem with several not give tickts/points to my families cards and when I asked the manager he said he didn't "think" those games gave tickets, although they used to. This was for my daughters bday and she was apologizing to us because it was so lame. While I reassured her it was not a big deal, I can honestly say it was a total waste of my time and money. Went in with my team for a team outing. Called beforehand to get pricing and info. When we goAt there we were told different information. The pricing was different than what we were told on the phone so it kinda ruined the plans we had. So just be careful of that because we couldn't do all we wanted to because of the wrong info. Just go to Dave and Busters what a terrible experience. My boyfriend and I decide to go for dinner and games. I've never been to a main event before but I love DNB so I was excited. Boy was my excitement crushed. We sit down to eat, the service from our server. Erin was great. However, this the where the downfall starts. There's a ton of food runners waiting in the kitchen, a very visible area, definitely done on purpose so guest can see their food being made. But just a ton of teens, using their phones, eating food, and POPPING PIMPLES. Yes that's right, right where everyone can see, a girl popping another boys pimple. And yup, you guessed it, she did not wash her hands. Thankfully she did not bring our food. The food was actually really good, no complaints there. So after we pay and grab our game card (we did the food+game card combo on the menu) and head over to play games only for 5 out of the 8 games we tried NOT WORK. Just ate our credits. After three trips to the prize area so the very nice and apologetic girls could reload our card. Three. Times. After the fourth we just had enough and asked for a refund back. It was a fight to receive money back on our card (some bullshit about us doing the meal and game card combo) and only after they offered a gift certificate (why would I ever come back) and some major attitude from the manager, we got our $50 back and left. I took my nine year old granddaughter to the Main Event because she loves video games. I bought her $25 game card and followed her as she looked for fun games. All of the games were all about winning tickets for prizes. Most games were joyless. You push a button or pull a crank, something spins and you win points. Obviously with that the premise, most games lasted 15 seconds or less. I would have left and asked for a refund of what was left on card, but hey I'm with my granddaughter. In the end she had enough points to get 4 items that were probably worth less than $2.00. I asked my granddaughter did you have fun? She said "not really". We had a great time! Our burgers were really good and you can get a game card with it too for a deal. The Lazer tag maze was a blast even for adults. Only 4 stars because the service and the middle main counter sucked. They were just talling ignoring us, didn't give full instructions for times and activities. In general, they were almost rude.
