I'm not one to typically complain but I will have to say going here literally pushed me to the point I thought I was gonna turn into a Karen. The women's bathroom is completely nasty three out of the four soap dispensers didn't have any soap in them almost all the towel dispensers were empty there were many stalls that were out of toilet paper, and then when I told and employee she goes yeah that sounds about right as if that's a normal thing. And then going to the bar A few of the bartenders had this attitude as if they just were too good to be there and didn't even check the IDs properly and for me I don't really care because I'm 22 but I just imagine an 18-year-old showing the ID knowing that the bartenders don't care and didn't actually bother to check. And then on top of that your employees are all are at the laser tag couldn't be bothered to get off their phone long enough to actually talk to people when they had questions, and the same thing kind of went for the dude who are in charge of mini golf they kind of were just quiet and catch themselves but thankfully were off their phone but also had the attitude of they just didn't want to be there. And I get it you're tired you don't want to be at work you probably just want to be home you've worked so many hours in a week you just want the weekend off but either show up to your job and do it how you're expected to do it because it's not my fault that you don't like your job, and I absolutely hate my own job but I would never treat anybody who comes in to my job like it's their fault as to why I hate it because they're the reason I still get a paycheck at the end of the day because if I don't have people come through that door I don't get paid. And there was this time you could see that management also could tell that their employees were not paying attention to guests and could also care less and I've been to other main events and I will say that this is by far the worst one I've been to and I'm only giving it a two star because the people who were in the little pizzeria area or so nice and the food came out really good and fast read more

Went to recharge my card and the transaction was slow so I cancelled it. Stole $35 from me and I never got the points that came with the $35 package. Called management to sort this out and they never called me back after they said they would investigate and call me back in the same day. It's been 2 days already. This place gets worse every time we come. You would assume once you are assigned a lane you would have a sever in that section...nope. Several of them walked right past us never offering to help. We asked 3 times for a sever and nothing. Finally we just flagged one down. After 1 1/2 hours we had food and drinks. The servers were busy talking with friends and drinks were slow. The bar was extremely under staffed and the even if you were sitting at the bar service was slim to none. When I tried to cash out it took over 20 minutes for the bartender to get me my final check. My kids waited in line for laser tag and they waived several in around them. This is our favorite place to gather with family and friends to unwind and have fun! The food is fantastic and the beer is cold. The kids as well as adults have a blast bowling, playing arcades and laser tag. They have a great arcaded area with a variety of games for all ages. The staff is always friendly and eager to help. We brought 12 extended family members ages 8-88 on New Years Eve, during the day. Got a great group package that included unlimited play, bowling shoes, pizza, soda & $10 Fun Card per person for 4 hours. It wasn't too busy so we didn't have to wait to play anything. Those who didn't bowl still had fun watching the personalized videos created for our players. Some employees were very friendly and helpful, some less so. Pizza was good enough. Not very pleased with the facility. $20 all access pass for billiards, Putt putt and laser tag. Went and stood at the putt putt counter for 30 minutes with no help from staff ended up getting our own balls from the bucket on the counter and our own clubs.. began playing and didn't see a staff member for another 20 minutes. After that we went to play laser tag I had 2 kids 4 & 8 and they put my kids on the opposite team. I had to ask to be put on the same team. 5 minutes in my nieces vest stopped working and continued to malfunction the entire game. My vest switched teams 4 times through the game and my sons vest stopped working the last 5 minutes of the game. They definitely need more staff and more help. The VR arcade games are about $7 a game/ person and took my kids $14 dollars of game credits and never let them play. Super disappointed in the facility. Just went tonight and 1hr of bowling, and renting 3pairs of shoes, was $42!!!! Playing pool is $16 an hr, and a pizza is $22.50. I mean, come on. These prices are ridiculous!!!! This is supposed to be a family place? Who's family? Bill Gate's? I will never go back. Ever. We went here last Friday night and had a very good time. The place was packed yet we had no issue getting a lane. Bowling is a little off as its not a true bowling alley, the pins are on strings ie little action. The pool area was packed and that is a good sign. There is a decent bar there and plenty of tv for sports. This is one of the better family places in Lubbock when coming from out of town. Having fun with the family, until my husband and I see a manger yelling and cussing at a much young employee. We watched the young man shake his head as to tell the manger he understood, and then began to walk off, just to be yelled and cursed at again. This is very unacceptable this is a place for family a kids. This manager Rodney had no business being a manger much less working with or around children of any age. We go to a lot of places like this. This one was clean. The employees don't seem to know anything about customer service. The games were priced too high compared to all the competition. Pizza was ok. We had to go behind the counter to find someone to take our order. The wings aren't wings, they were dry and the service is slow. The security is ridiculous. They'll kick you out just to kick you out. They won't tell you why or let you explain yourself then even if you didn't do what they accuse you of then pure still screwed. Main event is worthless overall. I booked our company Christmas party there for 21 people. They're all between 22 and 25 years old and I thought they'd enjoy something fun for the holidays. The service was excellent throughout the entire process. We got the Ultimate Package, 60 bucks which included 2 drink coupons, buffet, private VIP room, tokens, and unlimited play for 4 hours. They had a great buffet set up with salmon, mushroom ravoli and beef tenderloin, etc., they reserved 3 bowling lanes with desserts for us and had servers just for the party. I was really happy with the whole deal and will highly recommend Main Event for a function like this. The Millennials got to run amok and I got to sit back and enjoy. Thanks! read more

Was by far the worst service I have ever received, not to mention our ally we were bowling on broke and it took over half of our time to fix it! We ordered food and after 45 minutes we went to check and it was sitting cold by the kitchen. We didn't get our pizza or desserts until we went and asked after 45 minutes of waiting. Why do companies like this continue to hire the most unfriendly people to work in areas where they have to deal with the public? I mean these people are your first impression for your business. And if you are going to charge me $45 for an hour of bowling the least you could do is act like your interested in helping me spend my money in your establishment... So to the lady working the front area the night of 06/08/16, move to a position where you don't have to interact with customers or find a job you actually care about! Ordered the kids sodas and they all tasted like cleaning solution so had to return them. The nachos were not bad but we couldn't take the time to order anything else, because if you don't speed bowl you will never finish a couple of games in an hour. I understand the theory behind the time limits but maybe there should be some bonus time added for every dollar you spend at the bar or for food while you are bowling. That way you are still making money from me to justify me bowling longer and it provides a better quality experience for the customer. Or at the very least, allow us to finish the game in progress. I wanted to order another plate of nachos and bucket of beer but since my time was running out, it was just easier to decide to leave and go somewhere else. Took the family on a Sunday (12/29) night around 9:15 (online hours showed closing at midnight) to bowl. Upon arrival, clerk at the desk says all the lanes have been reserved, so we decide to stay and play video games. As we walk toward the game area we notice that there are at least five to seven bowling lanes empty and not being used, so I assumed those were the reserved lanes. We played games for around an hour, and when we were leaving walked by the same five to seven lanes still not being used. We asked the clerk again if we could bowl and she says they are still reserved, but at around 10:30 they would be unreserved. At this time it's around 10:20 so we ask if we could still bowl but she says at 10:30 it's too late, which was curious for me because it left us with an hour and a half of bowling time (unless the online hours were incorrect and they closed at 11:00). Long story short, this Main Event basically lost money with customers ready to pay turned away and the people who reserved not showing up. Another result is you had a disappointed family who won't be returning. read more

All the arcade machines are broken so they'll take your money and not give you points or just won't work and you can't get a refund. The food is gross and the drinks are poorly mixed with little alcohol. Your kids may have fun, but it'll cost you an arm and a leg and feel ripped off. Last time I'll ever step foot inside this place. Paid $40 to play laser tag with my son to be told at the door of the game that he is too short to play. Nevermind that we've played here before - and all over Lubbock. At least we got to bowl. However, even that service was poor. Balls stuck behind the lane, game ended before 10th frame, and when we called for help no one came. Had to hunt them down ourselves. I'll take my business elsewhere in Lubbock. My family and I really enjoy Main Event. However this time when we visited we started with bowling and although we were the first family bowling when the next group arrived they put them on the lane next to us. They have 28 lanes but put all the groups right together. This made the visit much less enjoyable. Even though the family next to us was polite and courteous we were still having to wait on each other. There is no reason to crowd your guests unnecessarily. read more

In town traveling and wanted to watch a football game on NFL Network. I ask at the front desk if they have the channel and can put it on. Manager says yes, and they'll put it on in the bar area. I order up a beverage and the game doesn't come on. I wait about 10 minutes and go ask. Manager- We don't have that channel. A) How do you run a place with a bar and not have NFL Network? NOT a place for young children. Very disappointed in our experience at Main Event. Have been twice in the last 6 months and was hoping for a better experience the 2nd time. But didn't get it. Not a good way to kick things off! We were a party of 10 - Most of us with the exception of 3 guests were planning on sticking around the entire night. Bowling, games, laser tag and dinner was the main plan. Upon paying for unlimited bowling we were informed that after one hour of play, should there be a waiting list, we would have to wrap up our game and move so they may cycle through their list. Understandable. Drinks took forever, pushing 30 minutes for a mixed drink and up to 20 minutes for a bucket of beer. Dinner was not much better... almost 30 minutes for food to arrive and most of it incorrect. Keep in mind this place is huge and servicing A LOT of people all at once. We were not to upset on wait times due to the fact we were able to hang out, bowl and visit. Problem is, there was a wait list. After our 10 frames (not an hour) we were told we had to move. There was not a table that would accommodate our large party, we would have to pack everything up AND I was still waiting on my dinner. I approached the front desk to discuss the issue where I was met with the RUDEST young lady I have ever came across in customer service. I asked to speak with the manager seeing as I am getting nowhere with this horrible young lady. Here's where the story takes a turn for the better! The management team is EXCELLENT. Great recovery... Being from a hospitality back ground, all I was expecting was a manager to listen to me, allow us to at least enjoy our dinner before we moved and the young lady behind the desk to be addressed. They exceeded my expectations! With out just masking the issue with freebies, this team stepped up - went above and beyond and really made us feel welcomed and appreciated. This is a stellar management team! We will be back! I am sure managing this type of venue is not the easiest but these guys sure do a great job. THANK YOU! read more
