A friend and I ate at this restaurant (the Milwaukee Ave location) for breakfast on April 26th as we were in town for a concert. Joslin was our waitress and let me say she provided excellent service. She was attentive, polite, and checked on us often enough not to disrupt. As we got our check, we asked if it was crowded more than usual because of the George Strait concert and if they had called extra help in. She said a little maybe, but it was normally busy like that, and they were actually shorthanded today. I had just told me friend about how efficient I thought the entire crew was. The wait was fine, shorter than they said, and the food was delicious and plentiful. What an absolute pleasant experience. Went in on a Wednesday morning (8ish), was seated within minutes, was greeted by our host and then waitress very quickly, even with a group of people that seemed to be an office staff. I enjoyed the atmosphere, it was inviting and welcoming. The food was fantastic, we thought it tasted as homemade as you can get for a restaurant. This was our first time to visit The Farmhouse Restaurant. We were a little disappointed that they didn't offer turkey bacon or turkey sausage as an alternative to regular bacon. The food was good but not exceptional. Fruit came with mine and the melons were already turning brown which and definitely should not have been served to a customer. read more

The omelette was tasteless and rubbery with dried out cheddar cheese (the only way those all happen at the same time is not paying attention to it being over warmed and then not caring when you take it out of the kitchen). Table of 8 all the food looked wonderful and was quite plentiful, except for mine. While plenty my chicken fried steak was 75% breading.

Definitely were treated differently after our waitress heard us speaking spanish. Customer service isn't a priority and it shows.

You may have to wait for a little but not long at all. The delicious food comes out quick and Hot! The potions are big; My husband got the farm house hash and he was full. The breakfast was really bad my omelette looked more like half cooked scrambled eggs. it took over an hour to get our horrible breakfast

In theory this should be a great restaurant concept. Execution of said concept was a miss. Staff all seemed confused about what to do on a Saturday breakfast/brunch rush. Chaotic is maybe an understatement as our server seemed way in over her head, the others that did try help didn't really help. Our drinks alone took 30 min to come out - coffee, OJ and waters. Plates came out one at a time, not very close together either, I never got my potatoes at all with mg plate even after the manager assured me they were coming. Most of the food was priced well for the quality and portions, but the service and ambiance just created a not so wonderful experience. I was heading out of Lubbock, but was looking for a quick place to stop before hitting the road. This was down the street so we checked it out. I got a burrito (as I can't eat anything too heavy too early) and stuffed it with hash browns, eggs, cheese, and bacon. It was honestly delicious as hell. My friend ordered a delicious looking eggs benedict. Both our portions were large and tasty! Our waitress, Emily, was awesome. She was very friendly and attentive. Although there is always a wait for a table, the food is great every time we come here (for Breakfast). Coffee is fresh and hot, the pancakes are packed with buttermilk flavor and are fluffy. Oh, and they are like 12" in diameter...so you might want to share. I especially like the California Benedict. Bonus points for making my hash browns "crispy". During my visit, this is usually my go to spot for breakfast. I originally went into the restaurant for a table of one. The host stated that it would be a 25 min wait. I ended up ordering online. I ordered the garden omelette, with fruit, sour dough and a coffee. I waited 15 mins outside before going inside. When I went to the host, it was about the same time someone from the back brought up an order. I gave the host my information and for some reason she couldn't locate my information and another person started it would be about 5 more mins. I asked if I can get my coffee while I waited. When the host brought my coffee, they turned to host post and ended up grabbing the same bag that had been sitting up there. I walked out with food and coffee. I ended up going to a near by park to eat because I was checked out of my room and heading to the airport. When i opened the food, oil and liquid went everywhere, the omelette was the portion size of my palm and under cooked. The egg whites were raw. I didn't end up eating the raw eggs, the bread ended up getting saggy from the raw eggs and oil. I had the fruit and old coffee. I attempted to call and the phone continued to ring and when someone did answer they hung up. If you decide to order out, I highly recommend checking your food before leaving. $20 for breakfast and coffee. Which ended up being a mediocre meal. I also don't recommend going when they're extremely busy, doesn't seem like they have the staff and the cooks leave everything with oil. Highly disappointed. read more

Do NOT come here if you have a large party! Either the restaurant doesn't have enough tables or they aren't set up properly to accommodate a larger group. You will end up waiting A LONG TIME! We had a total of 13 people one late morning during a holiday weekend. They told us it would be a 30 min wait as they would have to pull a few tables together. We had zero problem with a wait. The issue was they kept seating the open tables instead of working to put them together. After at least 45-50 minutes, we asked about it but the manager said they had no choice but to seat the tables even for people who came well after us. Basically she was saying multiple tables had to open up at the same time in order for us to be seated together. This probably would have taken another 45 minutes at least! We ended breaking up our party and sat in three different booths around the restaurant. We probably would have done this initially if they would have at least communicated with us. They never said anything and just kept passing us over on the list. We won't be back. It's a shame because the food itself is pretty decent. I love their breakfast. Service is a hit or miss. Decent atmosphere no loud music. I was so excited about the pancake, however it's too cooked for me, when it has black burn marks I taste the burned part. This is our #1 go to for breakfast. My husband always has the traditional breakfast and I like to mix things up. Lunch for breakfast, etc. I haven't been disappointed with anything.
