omg this is like dave n busters on steroids! came in just to check it out because it was new and ended up staying for a few hours. they got private rooms for parties, tables to eat, a full bar, lots of games, a zip line and gravity thing up top, and a full bowling alley. seems like a great place to throw parties or hang out. if they have a happy hour, then you know where i'll be everyday after work. plenty of tvs to watch the games. i hope they have after hours where its only 21 and over are allowed. that would give this a fifth star. read more

My son has been waiting a year to be tall enough to do laser tag. He is finally 48 inches and he was invited to a birthday party at main event for laser tag. He got there measured 48 inches but they would not let him in because they said you have to be above48 inches. So all his friends got to play and he didn't. Main event sucks and we will never be back. I will be telling all my friends and leaving reviews everywhere I can. There were kids in the laser tag that were shorter than my son but whoever was measuring at that time was a real jerk. They would not even give him a refund even though he was not able to do laser tag. What a joke of a business read more

I went with 12 girls for my birthday. We went from 10-12am on Sunday night and paid for a $20 unlimited fun pass. The ropes course stopped at 11pm and laser tag stopped at 11:30. The fun pass did NOT include any arcade play whatsoever despite what the pass said on the main event site. The ropes course staff was extremely rude and unaccomadating and caused me to end my night sourly. Do not go late at night otherwise the tired staff will refuse to serve you even though you paid a lot of money for all of the amenities they had to offer. I was extremely unpleased with the experience and sad to say I did not enjoy the last moments of my birthday. Our waiter, Perry, was the best part of our experience. He actually cared about us having a good time and tried to make it better when the other staff screwed our time. I will not be going back until they decide to present the times EACH activity closes so myself and other customers will be aware of how long (or how short) of time they have to enjoy. read more

We came here on Christmas Day with the in laws. We had to get out of the house and this was the only thing that was open. I hate going anywhere on Christmas to avoid the hatred you see in the employees eyes. No hate eyes here! We played pool, had wings and drinks. Our waitress/bartender was awesome! Leah I think her name was. Girl you deserve a raise! Food is pricy, but for once in a while game nights it's fine. I only gave it 4 stars because it wasn't busy at all and have no idea how the team handles with a full house. It's obviously a new place and probably has a bunch of first time wait staff. I think if they manage their team properly it will wind up being an amazing place to go regularly. read more

I had there chicken and strawberry salad with pecans feta cheese it was amazing . The presentation of the salad was beautiful.. I didn't leave a single piece of lettuce. It was the delist.. I would recommend this salad . My granddaughter had chicken fingers with fries and fruit. It was very good real chicken.. The service was good. Didn't really pay to much attention to us.We played in the game room area. I thought the games were priced to high. But there is a lot to do at the main event.. I will be back with some friends and family to drink, eat and bowl play. The bowling looked like it would be fun. Next time we will try the bowling. read more

Took family- kids age 10, 17, 20, and 23. We all had fun. Restaurant- I had cheddar burger which was really good. Kids had chicken tenders and one had a mini pizza- they all liked. Other couple had artichoke dip- also good. Service wasn't the best but not bad. They should check drinks to see if people need refills. Bowling was very fun. Love the animations over the lanes! Games- I got 6 fun cards good for 3 hours of play for $78. Good deal BUT you can't get tickets with those! So the kids wanted the other fun cards. Prize room is better than chuck e cheese but maybe not as good as Dave and busters. It's really loud but was still fun for all of us. read more

My co-workers and I decided to check this place out for our Friday lunch plans as surrounding restaurants had to too long of a wait time. It was definitely not a busy place for a Friday afternoon which worked in our favor except I don't think the staff new how to handle our unexpected group of 10. However, this isn't something I will hold against them and the food came out pretty quickly. As far as taste and quality, the entrees were quite delicious and I would like to come back to play a few games after filling my stomach with goodness. When we got our food there was bones in our BONELESS QUESADILLAS- and sandwiches, it took them over an hour to get our orders at the bar and that's not to mention they didn't state the fact that we'd only get an hour to play bowling after a three hour wait. They'd told us they would replace our food but we never got a call from anyone. The wait is okay for the amount of people in but the lack of attention and care for customers is pretty sad. The whole place is lit up like a Christmas tree and as noisy as a Vegas casino. Bowling alleys are fine, but highly distracting with TV screens and crazy videos. Marginal quality, mostly deep fried bar food. Not on my list for future KC trips... read more

Wow I'll be honest, I had no idea what to expect but this place is cool! Literally, something for everyone. Loved the bowling of course and the virtual (floor) hockey was cool. Best part - laser tag! Not only was it cool but it's harder than I thought! I thought I was doing awesome only to find out I had the lowest score of the group....oh well. Tons of fun and a great break from reality for a while. And they have a bar! Can't get much better than that! read more

It was very fun, clean inside, and had a great atmosphere. Perfect for all ages and it's family friendly. It also look very nice inside and the best thing is instead of tickets it's all out in a card to keep tally of points. I didn't go bowling but when I come back I will, it looked so fun. read more

We went for my wife's birthday with my two little girls and we had a lot of fun. Think Dave and busters with better food and bowling. The space is really nice and the staff was very accommodating. Food was reasonably priced and tasty and have options that come with a game card for the arcade games. The arcade has a lot of options but might be the most expensive arcade I've been to. Not bad if you get some free games with dinner, but really not affordable as a straight up arcade. Overall we had a great time and will definitely be back. read more

Went to this location on a Saturday night with my fiance and some friends. Service was horrible and my fiance ended up going to the bar in order to get drinks because she was so frustrated after waiting 30 minutes to receive our drinks. Wait staff looked overwhelmed and were not attentive at all. Drinks were overpriced as well. There were plenty of kids even at 11:00 pm. Would not be a good place for a date night. Called a few days before to see if we could reserve pool tables and were told that it was not possible. When we arrived on Saturday there were pool tables that had reserved signs on them and the wait was over 2 hours long. The appetizers we ordered were standard bar food and overpriced. Although there are lot of other activities at this place that looked fun, we went here specifically for bowling. The lanes are brand new (as opposed to every other ancient bowling alley I've been to) and on a weeknight we walked right in and got a lane. I also liked that they have a selection of standard balls (clearly labeled by weight and hand size) instead of the normal hodgepodge of old used balls. Although we went here to bowl, the bonus was that the food we ordered was really good (typical pub fare) and the server came right to our lane and was very attentive and prompt with our food and beverage orders. read more

I mostly went there to scope it out before taking friends to it for laser tag. The laser tag was horribly setup, they just let little kids play over and over again despite the 20 people in line, definitely should've separated the 2 large parties instead of 100% filling it for the tiny arena they have...just a very poorly designed laser tag setup in general. Our waitress did a good job when we went bowling, probably the only plus side of it, but most of the staff wasn't the best. Prices are cheap but so are the games, personally rather pay more and actually enjoy myself. I tried everything except the arcade, but wasn't really a fan of anything really, it's a fine place if you have young kids, but outside of that there are far better options. read more

We split our food bill at bowling 4 ways. However, my friend was charged for the full amount and we were charged for our portions until the rest of the cards went through. This is either a terrible business practice or just plain rude. I've never heard of any restaurant doing this and my friend had to wait 3 days for his refund. I will likely not be attending there ever again and I recommend that none of my friends attend it either. Main Event dismissed his calls for several days due to "unavailability". There's no reason you should hold him liable for other people's purchases. read more

Was very disappointed. Took 7 folks there for a birthday on spring break. Was excited about the 18.95 special. Then was told oh that does not including bowling shoes those are another $5.00. So I paid almost $25.00 per person. In addition food was burned and took over 30 mins to get drinks and 45 to get food. Was given wrong information about events several time and our bowling time was an hour late. Was so looking forward to it. Won't return for a very long time read more

I took my wife and her sister out to Mainevent for the first time last night to shoot some pool and have a couple of drinks. Worst experience ever!!! Trying to shoot pool in that place is horrible. The wait staff has no consideration for their customer's and were very very rude. Not one of the 20 plus employees that passed us not once asked us if we needed anything. We had to go get our own drinks at the bar. Their prices are outrageous. For someone who visited their establishment for the first time I was very unimpressed and highly upset and didn't even stay a full hour. We will not be going back and I would not recommend them to anyone ever. read more

Finally, knew I was taking a risk buying the calamari but it sounded interesting when it said it came with melted cheese. I am American after all. Give me cheese. Fun family outing!! Seemed like there were games for every level and age... this was the first time My husband & I had been there ...it was the second time for our son. His first experience was not the greatest-- he and a friend were asked to move out of the restaurant when they were finished eating... which seems strange because they had eaten there and they had been playing the games. We mentioned that to the general manager and he was more than receptive and very nice to our son & his experience to... and even went ahead and gave our son a couple cards to come back and try some other games or the restaurant. We had a great experience and our interaction with the GM made it clear that they're willing to make everything right and be successful in Olathe! If you can get past all the glitz and glamour, you will see that Main Event is very expensive! Let's start off with the game area. I refuse to call their gaming area something its not and its not an arcade. Many any of the games they have are a complete ripoff! Most games are $1.50 per play while the rest are $1.75 per play. Ski ball is 75 cents!!! The shooting games all have the same concept except different story. Racing games all have the same concept except in one you are driving a car and the other you riding on a bike. Games don't last very long either and the cost per play adds up quicly. If you are looking for a great arcade experience then my advice is to go either go to Up/Down bar or T3 bar. Games are a quater and they have all the classics. SKI BALL IS A QUARTER! Bowling $36 per hour(shoe rental is $4) at Main Event. Main event does have specials but its still a rip off. Bowling at Olathe Lanes East is $3 per game(Shoe rental is $3) or ($15 per hour). During peak hours at Olathe Lanes East, $4.25 per game or $21 per hour. You are paying for the glitz and the glamour to bowl at Main Event. Billards is not cheap either at Main Event. Go to a pool hall and pay $1.00 per play. I went last Saturday night and left never wanting to come back. I tossed my $1.00 fun card in the trash on the way out as well. Customers are being charged an arm and a leg because of the glitz and the glamour. You can do the all of the same things at Main Event somewhere else for pennies. read more

I have been to this establishment twice and the last time was indeed likely the last time. Celebrating a birthday, our meal service was dismal at best. My husband and I were on one ticket and the other 7 people in our party on another. We received our food and nary a sighting of the rest of the groups meals. Finally flagged down our server, ( only 3 tables in the café at this time) and asked where the rest of the food was. She said as we were on a separate ticket that is how the cooked it and the others would be out soon. I informed her this was ridiculous as we were 1 party and the food did not arrive shortly, our food was cold well before everyone was served. I asked for a manager and waited 10 minutes before one came to speak to me. The manager apologized and offered to get us new food as ours was cold. I advised her that then everyone else would either be finished or have cold food, did she not see the problem with this? She did give us 2 cards with an hour of game play but only after my prompting for something due to the many boondoggles that occurred during the meal. We had to flag down someone anytime we needed anything such as the food or drink refills. The gameplay cards were nice, however, the meals should probably have been comped or discountedand gamecards extended to entire party as all were adversely served. The food is mediocre as well as overpriced and the service shameful. The handicapped restroom was dirty. I informed the manager and was thanked and told it would be taken care of. Over an hour later when needing to use the handicapped restroom again, I was waiting for my turn for some time only to have an employee who appeared to have no need of a handicapped restroom saunter out the door. The restroom was still dirty. An employee had just walked out of it. Shameful. The games are a rip off. Most of them only allow 1 turn vs 3 lives that games often offer. Bowling is pricey. This would be a pretty expensive outing for families and money not particularly well spent. Very disappointing. read more

I get that they just opened, but man it was horrible. We put our names in for bowling and said it was a 2 hour wait. The lady then said we have to pay in advance, which is stupid because what if you want to leave because your wait becomes longer than they said or something else happens. We decided in that wait time to eat. While eating, we saw our waitress twice. Once for drinks and once for food. We asked her to put our name in for Shuffle Board while waiting for bowling and she never did. When we finally did get our food, the chicken sandwich only had chicken on half of the sandwich and the Mac and Cheese portion was SMALL for being 10 bucks. Once we got in to bowl, we never got service from anyone. Ever. They came to other sections but never ours. We bought the unlimited wrist bands and they told us we could bowl unlimited amount of time and play others games too. Barely half way through the third game, we get kicked off our lane and were told we had go put our name on the list again, even though we were told we had unlimited bowling. Honestly, I will never return. It was a bad experience for how much it costs(1 hour of bowling and 2 meals was around $100) Such a waste of time of money. read more

I will admit that the pizza, guac and salsa are pretty good. I get that it's a kids place but a little service goes a long way. We waited 15 minutes from when we got the final check to when he came back to pick it up and swipe.
