I hosted a family reunion in the event space upstairs. The room had access to the outdoor patio and was perfect weather in April. The food was brought out on time and there were no complaints. We had a group of 9 and chose D&B because they were showing the UFC fights. Unfortunately, when we arrived, they didn't have our table ready. Service was very slow, waitress was new so I understand we were quite patience however she forgot basic things like our drinks and silverware for almost 30 minutes. Our food took almost 45 minutes to an hour even though it was not busy. The kitchen ran out of numerous items we ordered: Pretzel dogs and mashed potatoes and weren't told until after we've been waiting 30+ minutes. Silverware wasn't provided until 20 minutes after our food came out and my husband ended up eating his steak with his hands. Food was not fresh either which made it worse. Our group was very disappointed. Overall, I do NOT recommend coming here for food, just go to the bar for drinks and watch the fight instead. Definitely download the app and sign up as a rewards member when you come. We scored a sweet deal with a food promo they were running. A weeknight is a pretty quiet time to come for dinner and some " get out and do something fun" time. The bar and restaurant area were not crowded and the service was attentive. It's a little loud with the gaming noises and music but it's a whole atmosphere. I loved my fish and chips. Loved!! Three crispy strips of lightly battered flaky fish with what has to be the world's best coleslaw. Fries were good. DH ordered the cheeseteak sandwich but a few bites in was frowning. The meat (what little there was) was tough and there was just a drizzle of cheesy sauce... nothing like what he was hoping for. Our server was happy to get him something else from the kitchen and he chose the bacon burger. That was much better and was loaded with bacon! His dinner went from disappointing to awesome. Once again I came to this business today to dine in the restaurant area. Myself and my two sons. A patron in front of me was asked where she wanted to sit and if it was acceptable. When the hostess came to wait on me she didn't even ask if the area she was trying to seat me and was acceptable I'm beginning to feel some way regarding how I am treated when I tried to dine at this establishment. For a better lack of work I feel insignificant. I decide to sit on the game area side because the boots are lower and allows me to be able to watch my children and get in and out easier. Her explanation how she is trying to space out the restaurant and tell me where there is another entrance it's pretty poor customer service. Dave and Busters offers a fun atmosphere with brightly lit colors and a nice array of arcade games. Half price games on Wednesday is an amazing way to stretch your dollar while providing hours of entertainment! The drinks during happy hour were tasty and the bartenders were quick and friendly. The building is a bit on the smaller side but we were able to hit most of the games with no wait time. Would recommend for a fun family outing. read more

But I went today can I just say that EVERY SINGLE EMPLOYEE with whom I dealt was AWESOME! At every turn - from the gaming machines, to the prize vault, to the human crane machine, to the restaurant - someone kind and generous was there to help. I made reservations online because I knew the place would be full. We arrived at the time of the reservation. Hostess informed us that there is no open table and we'd have to wait 45-60 minutes. I asked her what is the point of reservations and requested to speak to the manager. He persisted to avoid me. After waiting for a while I said screw it, I'm not going to let it ruin my night. Finally, we got a table. Food came out cold! I didn't even waste my time complaining. Then went to play games. At least 25% of the games were shut down or glitching. We stopped in on memorial day looking to kill sometime with 4 kids and what a great spot! Their hours said they weren't open until 11am but we entered at 1045 and got started. WOW this is such a new, massive, two story D&B. Definitely a sight for sore eyes compared to ours' here in Omaha. The website offered a $15 deal which was perfect for the amount of time we had, so we got 150 tokens for less than $20. It is kind of a scam that there is. $3 activation fee per card, so I suggest just ALWAYS keeping one in your wallet. We played dozens of games, and there were hardly any other kids in the facility. The sprawling space was very clean and plenty of workers on hand. After we exhausted our tokens, we headed to the prize area. As adults, we know most of this is over priced junk, but my kids think this is the holy grail. We were able to get just above everything my kids wanted, however, being a few hundred shy of a prize, you can actually buy tickets? So I ended up paying $7 for a stuffed animal, but did my daughter take it to show and tell today? Yes, so it was worth it. All in all, very impressed with this experience compared to mine in Omaha. We had reservations at 7:15 for my 2 sons and I. When we went to check in, the hostess said that they were short staffed and it would be awhile before we could get a table. Why do you take reservations if you can't honor them?  We went and played some games and finally got a table about 40 minutes later. We were served drinks pretty quick, but it took a long time to get our food. I would have thought that since we had to wait so long for the table, the wait for for food wouldn't be bad. 2 of our 3 meals weren't bad. I had the Fuego Chicken sandwich, and it was about the size of a kids meal burger. When we were finished it too a long time to get boxes and a check. Overall, it took over an hour from when we sat down until when we got our check for mediocre food. The whole experience was disappointing and expensive and we probably won't be back. One positive note is that our server was very friendly. read more

Never again. We walked in at 6 pm tonight and spent what felt like half an hour to find a seat clean enough to sit down because nobody bothered to clean the tables. Meanwhile all the servers tried their best to avoid us, so I had to hunt somebody down to attend to us, and the waitress looked at me like I was crazy. Thankfully another waitress eventually came over and took our orders. The appetizers came out relatively quickly and we ordered the entrees. But this was when the nightmare began. We spent the first 40 minutes just waiting and when we realized everyone else was getting their food but us, we got our waitress' attention and asked for the order status, she told us the kitchen was pretty backed up but it shouldn't be that much longer. We believed her and one of our friends went to the bathroom to get his insulin shot. But another 20 minutes went by, literally every table that came after us got their food served and nobody came to give us any update on our orders. There went 30 more minutes, we were all pretty on edge by this point but it was impossible to find anyone to help us because clearly they were actively circumventing our table. So at 8 pm we had to just pay for our appetizers and get dinner somewhere else because it was getting dicey for our friend with diabetes. Needless to say, we will not return to this establishment because of this unfortunate experience. read more

We attended a party event here for work. The wait staff catering in the event room were the best. We had a large party and the majority of the wait staff was attentive and cheerful. A few of the staff did not remain professional and you could tell they were sick of people and were getting burned out. I was patient and understanding with the long wait time on our drink orders. The upstairs event rooms were like an oven. Everyone was roasting and it made it extremely uncomfortable. They tried fixing the temperature, but had some kind of technical difficulties and we had to resort to propping the doors open. We moved the party downstairs to play games. We figured we would get drinks downstairs at the bar, save the staff from having to run our drinks. The bar staff was awful. I have never had staff at any place avoid me like they did at this place. The entire bar staff pretty much acted like we didn't exist and the wait time for each drink was easily twenty minutes to half an hour. They wouldn't even acknowledge you existed, or that they saw you, or let you know they would be with you as soon as they could, they just flat out acted like you weren't sitting there and wouldn't even make eye contact. We had drink tickets for the event, and they said they would only take them until a certain time, and then acted like you don't exist while your time runs out. Pretty crappy marketing strategy if you ask me. The buffet food was interesting. We had some kind of Brussels sprouts that were over cooked and burnt so it made the event room smell awful, they had a very strange cornbread casserole thing that had some kind of weird nut topping, the only saving graces were the chicken and ham that were both deliciously cooked. They did provide a frozen pumpkin cheesecake that was very rich, and amazing. The games obviously were fun. All of them were up and running. Our company always takes us to different places every year, I know our employer tips extremely well, as well as all of us tip individually. A lot of our company has worked customer service/food service jobs and all are understanding to being short staffed and overwhelmed, but I have never treated a customer like they did not exist. Some of the worst customer service I have ever gotten in my life. If you do not have the staff to do large events, do not book them, and do not treat the patrons as if it is their fault you can not provide quality customer service... which they are paying you for. read more

Ton of fun. We celebrated my nephew's birthday here last Sunday and he thoroughly enjoyed himself. The food was affordable, the location was great compared to years past when we had to go to the Legends (25-30 min drive). The only area of improvement I would say is the timeliness of the serving staff. I waited 20 minutes for a cup of water and my sister had to ask repeatedly for her order. Once we tracked a server down, he mentioned that someone dropped her food and had to remake it. That's fine but had we been informed we wouldn't have been frustrated and hangry. All in all, a good experience. The arcade card was a little pricey but I earned enough tickets to get a passport book with my winnings plus some candy for my nephew. I stood at the host's booth waiting to be seated, and the bartender looked at me and saw me standing there several times and never acknowledged me. Finally, I went up to the bar, and she told me to sit anywhere and that where was only one server. I sat at a table (I had 2 teens and another adult with me), and we sat there for 20 minutes without ever being offered so much as water. The bartender and server both walked by us middle multiple times and never even offered us water. Yes, he was the only server, but there were also at most 4 other parties there. A great addition in the Overland Park. It's nice to have a place for adults and kids to have fun, play and enjoy the arcades games, TV entertainment with the sports, and drinks. When you get a drink, it is definitely a good size for a happy time. Definitely fun when you have a good company to laugh, and play games together with. There are some games that doesn't really work like the ping ball cups. One of the Mario Kart game as well. Other than that, It's a place to where an adult can feel like a kid. read more

I don't understand the rave reviews. This is a glorified arcade and sports bar. ATMOSPHERE: The novelty of Dave & Buster's is you basically get Chuck E. Cheese for adults. There are a bunch of arcade games, and you can also have a full meal with alcoholic beverages. Complimentary wifi is provided. FOOD: Meh. The three-cheese burger I had wasn't bad. Was it $14 good? No, but it was palatable. The pretzel dog appetizer was the most disappointing. Five tiny pretzel dogs with no seasoning for $11.29 + tax. SERVICE: Given the fact we sat at the bar, getting service wasn't a big issue. VALUE: This is the dumpster fire of the rating. The food here is overpriced for what you get. Regarding gameplay, one would think your dollar might stretch more. Alas, it does not. We loaded our game card with $50 thinking that would be way more than enough. Nope. An hour later the card was empty, and we didn't spring for any special attractions which cost extra. TL;DR: If you have a teenager who wants to go here for their birthday, then fine. Otherwise, choose one of the many places where you get a way better bang for the buck. read more

I went to talk to three staff members huddled at the bar, told them I hadn't seen a server. They looked at me like I was inconveniencing them. Stayed for another 10 minutes, no server. Asked to speak with manager. Went to talk to a manager, who looked to be 18yo. Zero help, stated "this is the first I've heard of this". My expectations for this place were already low going in, and I felt like it perfectly matched the experience we had coming here. I normally don't visit these types of places, since I already know that they won't live up to the standards I set for food/drinks, but they have the added benefit of games for our kids, which is why we decided to come. We loaded up on game cards so our kids could play some game, I believe we got the $40 package, which the kids seemed to go through much faster than I expected. After about 20 minutes of playing games we grabbed a table to get some dinner, and to slow down their use of tokens on games. We had 3 adults in our group and 2 kids, and the total for food and 3 drinks was close to $100 for very mediocre food. I actually thought for a second that their food might be decent because pictures in the menu actually looked like quality food, but it all tasted like frozen food that was prepared by a 10 year old. The service was pretty poor as well, our waiter only came by every 10-15 minutes so our meal took much longer than anticipated. We used the rest of our tokens and decided to head out, which was good timing as it was starting to get very busy. Will we be back? Probably, will it be by choice, probably not. The kids had a blast, but the food was garbage and we felt like we got very little for how much we spent. read more

They charge different people different prices for the same exact game cards, which is super shady. It's also overpriced and I'd recommend UpDown to anyone any day, but in Overland Park there's not much else to do, so the D&B will surely become a staple. Ok, so admittedly, I'm not the audience for this place. I came here last weekend because my nephew who is 7 was in town, and I liked the fact that he could play games and have some fun here after being cooped up in a car all day. The dining room was much nicer than I had expected, and the menu had a lot of options. The options included shrimp and steak, so it definitely wasn't just bar food as I imagined it might be. The drink menu also had lots of options on it, which was nice. I ordered the shrimp with rice and veggies. It was ok. The shrimp was a little overcooked and the broccoli didn't have much going on, but I picked the meal because it was one of the lowest calories. I can appreciate when a place lists the calorie counts out on their menu, but the calories counts on the dishes at this place were horrendous. There was a meal over 3,000 calories on the menu and the shrimp dish I ate was one of the lightest things on there and still clocked in at over 600 calories. If I'm going to splurge calorie-wise, I really want it to be worth it, and I just didn't feel that the food here really lived up to that. Overall this wasn't a bad place to eat, just not a place I would want to splurge at, and given the calorie counts on the menu, it's almost hard not to make this your cheat meal, whether you want to or not. read more

This place is awesome. I know you'll have to compete with the parking lot of other shoppers. I've posted several pictures so you can get a feel of what this entertainment center has to offer. This location allows you to walk in and scope the place out without walking upon the patrons while at the bar eating and drinking their food and drinks. There's space when you first walk in here. Ahhhhh! Breath! The GameBar is located downstairs, in the back of the venue. It's nice but it also looks as if it could get stuffy (right) when too many people are in the area. The upstairs has a lot of walking area and three rooms for parties or meetings (Fun-ction1, Fun-ction2 and Fun-ction3). How cool is that? The private opening was held for VIP. The service in this place is terrible. My mother who is handicapped was denied service because the only available seating were the high chairs and she obviously cannot sit there. We were ignored, the girl at the front desk was on a call and you would think that after she hung up we would be helped but she just pretended like we were not there (no one else waiting to be seated) we asked her if we could be seated in the main restaurant area and she said they had 2 birthday parties going on, which btw the area had PLENTY of open seating, and most of the tables had dirty plates so I assumed at least one party was over. It was obvious they didn't want to provide not just a good customer service, they didn't want to provide the service. Period. So beware if you are taking someone who is handicapped or disabled because you are not welcomed there. read more
