I have been to this place well over 50 times since I was on the bowling team back in highschool and enjoy going with my family. This is one of those bowling alleys that you can count on. I love how easy it is to make reservations for a lane which at other places can be hard. The table was clean, service was good, and atmosphere was great. It can get a bit pricey, but it is definitely cheaper than other bowling alleys near by. The food is okay, nothing special. But the loaded tator tots are amazing!! read more

My son is on his High School bowling team and they have meets here multiple times a year. The owner has repeatedly been rude to parents when inquiring about where their student would bowling. Most recently when I asked about this she responded with "I have no idea, it'll be somewhere over there," and pointed behind her. I was very disappointed in Mission Bowl. While the atmosphere seems decent the food is stale and bland, drinks are over priced, and the staff were rude to its patrons and were very disinterested in trying to provide any type of quality service. Being a paying customer I expected more out of this place. Also, be aware that you should not park in their lot if you plan to leave your car a minute past 10PM, it will be immediately towed. They are basically saying "please come in! Have some drinks! Now get in your car and drive home because we care more about making money than keeping you safe!" Went once, one of the owners, after reading these other reviews it has to be Rick. Was extremely annoyed or seemed it to even have me be there and bowl at his lanes. I bowled there for 5 hours and spent over 100 dollars easily including bar tab. There was a guy (inexperienced bowler) who brought his oil for his ball, a little weird but I didn't see much wrong with it. He was packing up, Rick came over and took his oil and put it behind the counter, and under his breath goes "this motherfucker is using ____ oil on my lanes" and as a customer that's extremely off putting to hear. Definitely could've been handled differently. I will not be going back and do not recommended going there due to Ricks poor attitude. As they say, "One bad apple spoils the bunch". I have been going to Mission bowl for a couple of years now. I go about 6 times per year. It became my favorite bowling alley quickly and I purchased 2 bowling balls from the pro shop. I have spent a decent amount of money here. Unfortunately today marked my final visit due to extremely rude treatment by counter staff. I believe this woman to be a dayshift manager. A friend and I had bowled a 90 minute session and I went to the counter with the intent of purchasing more time/games. I inquired about the Current rewards program and if I had any free games on my account. The woman checked and told me I didn't have any. She stated I had a rewards balance. I didn't understand what this was and asked about it. She immediately became angered and told me she had explained this to me before and that she was tired of me "yelling" at her. I had no idea what she was talking about. I told her I wasn't yelling.. just asking a question. She eventually unapologetically apologized. I further explained- if I was loud, it was not intentional as I have partial hearing loss. It didn't matter. She wouldn't let me talk and kept speaking loudly at me. I told her to stop "yelling" at me. At this point, she balled her hand into a fist and slammed it on the counter and YELLED, "Now I am Yelling at You!" Then she turned and walked away and left me standing at the counter. All of this was because I asked questions about the CURRENT reward program. She did tell me that the program is terrible and that's why it's changing. I did respond (in a normal voice), "That is not my problem". After she left me standing there, I went and sat down and took a breath. I was thinking, I can't leave things like this. I need to fix it. After 15 minutes or so I went to the counter and waved at her (as she sat in the back watching me). She refused to come to the counter and sent someone else to talk to me. I called back to her and said, I don't want to argue... I just want work this out. She vehemently refused to speak to me. To be clear, I did Nothing wrong. It makes me sad this employee just lost Mission bowl my business. I am currently retired. In my employment, had I treated someone the way she treated (talked to/ Screamed At) me, I would be lucky to have a job. I gave this two stars because the other staff has been super nice. Thanks to the guy in the pro shop for helping me pick out and purchase bowling balls. read more

After 90 minutes of bowling and nearly $100 spent, my family needed 2 more minutes to finish our game (see photo). I asked for the time to finish and got an emphatic "no," even with no lines and 20 open lanes. If you want to bowl in the Olathe area, you go to Mission Bowl. The place is a true bowling alley! In the day and age of frilled out, expensive bowling alleys I love coming back to an establishment that actually has the characteristics of a bowling alley. Serving quintessential food (fries, nachos, etc.), and having great prices on beer and bowling; I make a point to bowl here whenever I'm back in town in the KC metro area. We came to visit a local bowling location while visiting our family. A gentlemen by the name of Rick- manager of facility was on staff. Not only was he rude but seemed to be bother at the fact he had customers walk in. Must I add the place was empty. We fail to notice the sign at entrance "no food and water" and boy did we pay for it. He mentioned, that the "state" (not the health department) had recently "fine the location". Hence, it prohibit water from outside. I offered to have him smell the H20 in the bottle, if that was a concern and again with great disrespect I was treated. Do not step foot in this place you will be HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED. He asked for my phone number to have someone call me (which I provided) truly doubt anyone is calling me and was attempting to intimidate me. Finally, there is NO HEALTH DEPARTMENT GRADE so not sure what he was taking about. read more

The Good: friendly staff. I've only been here a few times and that was to sub on a friends team. They were helpful when something I bought in one of those machines got stuck. The bad: It is a little out there when it comes to location. Kind of out in the middle of no where. Prices per game are a little pricey (but I've called around and there isn't anywhere who has cheap games all the time) They do have specials through out the week so if you plan it out just right you can get a good deal. read more

This establishment has the most inconsiderate employees, more specifically Rick. He seemed bothered to have customers, was extremely rude to my husband and friends, and tried to kick us out an hour before they closed after we had paid for our games. I've never met a manager who felt customers were an inconvenience until now. read more

I would have given ZERO stars if that were an option. Horrific customer service. Brought large family here and requested bumpers for both the children and the seniors. They insisted that only 8 yr old and younger could have bumpers. They policed the lanes the whole time and removed the bumpers on the lanes for the seniors. One had a physical disability and they still removed the bumpers. If you're looking for a family friendly place, stay away from this bowling alley. It's a pretty shabby low level lane with a big price tag, anyway. Another note, I did not find one ball that fit or worked correctly. I had to choose between either having the right weight OR one all fingers would fit--not both. read more

It's a dump. The people at the service desk were pretty cheery. However, that's the only good part. The bowling shoes I was given has a torn sole at the bottom. The bowling balls all have large dents or imprints from usage. They look like 35-40 year old bowling balls from the 70s and 80s. The lanes are just awful as there is never any oil on the lane and the pins are weighted heavier so they don't fall as easy. It forces people, even children, to use 14-16 pound balls. Bad music played the entire time with the songs playing on the screen. Save your money and go to OLE for cosmic bowling. read more

This was my second time at Mission Bowl. The first time I was with my husband and a group and I didn't have to speak to any of the staff because my husband did all the drink/food ordering but today it was just me and my two girls. First of all, they have no ramps for the smaller children to roll their balls from. That's a big downside for me seeing as my girls are 2&4 years old. I brought a coupon in and was greeted by a very unwelcoming gentleman who seemed annoyed by the coupon. He then asked me a question I didn't understand and so I repeated it and he said THATS WHAT IM ASKING YOU. Now if I hadn't promised my girls a night of bowling I'd have turned around right then and took my business elsewhere. But seeing as we were already there and loading up two kids in the car seemed like a hassle I stayed and was further helped by the rude man at the front desk. Bowling was fine. I then went to order food and asked if I ordered here or down at the end and was told by the same man very rudely " YEAH WHERE IT SAYS ' order here !!!! ' ". The man working at the bar wasn't a bit friendly either. The only friends employee there was a a very young girl who helped us get our ball out of the lane and helped my kids get items from the arcade ticket booth. All in all will not be returning. I guess we should have Yelp it before coming in for some family fun... horrible customer service the old grumpy gentleman behind the desk. Gave us attitude from the start when we the kids were giving him shoes size he rudely would slam the shoes & would ask boys or girls mmm hello are you not only old but Blind as well ? The kids are giving their shoe sizes. Can't you see the gender ? Let's also add that apparently you can't bring outside beverages okay everyone knows that at any place of business but WATER ? Not even water he gave us attitude about a refillable water bottle. I don't think it's against the law to bring your own water especially if you only drink alkaline water from home. To narrow it down my experience here was HORRIBLE. Cynthia is rude and never honors what her employees tell the customer. I and my friends have been bowling in their Women and Wine league since the start last summer we have easily spent $1000.00 each in food, bowling and drinks, we have recommended and helped grow their Women and Wine league. However after the third interaction with Cynthia the lady who runs things there we have decided to take our business elsewhere. She has yelled and treated us like trash for the last time. read more

Very disappointed in customer service. This is a family bowling alley but the big guy behind the counter that wears his glasses on his forehead is anything but friendly. Went with my wife and two daughters, my oldest was 12 at the time and had only bowled a couple times. We started bowling and she was rolling in the gutter each time and was getting very upset. We told her to go ask to have the bumpers turned on, you cant do it at the lane like every other bowling alley. She went up to the counter and then came back almost in tears! The jerk behind the counter advised her she was to big to need bumpers and not allowed to use them! At this point I went back up to the counter to resolve the issue, I could tell he wanted to talk back to me as well but he kind of rolled his eyes and turned the bumpers on for my daughter. My daughter doesn't roll the ball hard enough to damage anything, so not sure what the issue was! I have seen other reviews about this and they were advised this issue was resolved, but i guess not!! Never had this issue at any other bowling alley! I have been back a few times since, not by my choice but was with group that went, and same issues with this same guy. Not sure if he is the owner or just thinks he is the owner, but have nothing good to say about him. The other staff has been great to deal with. i guess he needs to learn if you don't like dealing with people then don't work the counter at a bowling alley!! Not sure how all the high schools bowl there when he treats kids like crap, for that matter adults as well. Its sad when you try to go out for some family fun or with a group but you have to avoid a certain person working there because he treats people like sh&# and almost bully them around. I guess people will learn and just stop going, I will be sure to do my part and spread the word!! I know some high school coaches as well, so will gladly warn them as kids shouldn't have to deal with idiots like this who act like they are god at a freakin bowling alley!
