Came here over the Memorial Day weekend. We played games and had lunch here for the first time. The games left much to be desired. Small area. Not a ton to do. I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich and it had a funny taste and looked like it was cooked in old grease. The fries were too salty and also seemed old (brown, soft). I would not choose to eat here again but would consider returning with my daughter to try out their obstacle course and bowling. Came here with my family to bowl and games. It was a bit hard to find from the parking lot. We were a group of 5 and the bowling lane area had two tables and was super small. We could barely sit down between bowls and we were so close to the family next to us. We played arcade games for an hour but there weren't that many. Dave and Busters has more and more space. No seating other than the ice cream shop or restaurant. We wanted to do laser tag but there weren't a lot of people there. We love bowling! But let me tell you a few things about our experience. All in all, find somewhere else to go. The person who checked us in was friendly and answered all of our questions. While we were told there would be about a 45-60 minute wait, we decided to head next door since there wasn't a place to sit. Parents are allowed to have their tiny children sit at the bar within the Main Event. We ordered a drink near by and our lane was ready. I love a shorter wait but wouldn't have ordered something if my lane would've been ready in 7 minutes. Once we got back, we checked in with no issue. Later realized there isn't a drop of AC near lane 14. I was starving and saw a line near who I thought was a server. It was our first and surely our last time here so I hadn't a clue if was going to get served at our lane and surely didn't expect to be. Once the people in front of me ordered, I asked if I could get fries at lane 14. OH boy was I wrong for asking. Again, didn't know. When he told me they would come to our land I said ok! 14 is ready when you are! Where I'm from, you press a button on your screen at your lane. Moving on, the people to our left used our balls, delaying our playing time. Why? Not sure. The people to our right kept stepping in front of us while it was time to go. The staff didn't give two cares. I stepped to the side to not allow them to step in front of my partner while he was playing. To top it off, the staff at check out and the waiter who gave us the machine to pay both very rude and condescending. We went to this place for laser tag, and there's a big group of us. I reserved it and paid for it ahead of time. I'm not giving this place five stars because instead of being able to refund us for one person that couldn't come, they ended up charging us. And, it is really expensive with tax. It comes out to $12 a person for a 20 minute game of laser tag. So, after two games of a big group of people, we spent over $300. And, they weren't willing to refund us just one person. But that being said the laser tag set up is pretty cool and fun. Pretty informal, which I like. This main event is very hard to find and very hard to park by. So, note that. I probably would go again, but I would not reserve it ahead of time, because laser tag was not that busy, and I could've avoided the whole refund situation had I just purchased it when I got there. But you never know because we wanted to go, and we didn't know if it was busy. So, go here and make sure you have plenty of time to park and find it, and I wouldn't reserve anything ahead of time. read more

This was our first Main Event experience and I had a great time with my kids tonight. Our server (Ruhmel (I hope I didn't butcher his name, as I lost my receipt)) was very attentive and super helpful with decision making. He was a key part into making the experience very enjoyable and memorable. The prices were fair and the food was much better than the breakfast and lunch that we had at the Universal theme parks. Main Event seems like a great place to frequent, as they have laser tag, bowling, arcades, good food, and alcohol! Definitely recommend if you're in the area...but be advised that parking can be tough to find. I opted to valet, which made for a short walk to Main Event. Very horrible we first walked in and it was crazy busy. We waited in a 40 minute line to play pool just to be told we have to go the bar and pay there to play. After that we sat down and where wanting some food there was waiters running around and serving other people but when we asked to order they told us we had to order at the bar and that we can't order food. The man made a sprite with a cup he dumped into the sink and filled the sprite up with. After telling the bartender to make a new one he threw a temper tantrum and said "what do you want a clean one this is all I've got!" I would say a solid three stars, with room to grow. They do offer a lot of different options for games and fun for all ages. The venue itself is HUGE. They have bowling, arcade games, air hockey, a cafe and bar. A few downers include that the gaming cards only allow for 3 plays on one specific machine before you are told you've had too many consecutive plays and have to use another machine. This is great in that it opens machines up for others to use. It sucks in that if you are playing a shooting game you have to walk away from any potential to level up or make it to the next rounds. It looked like they could have a couple of open food stations, but they weren't operating them. I came in here to watch a football game that was not being aired anywhere around (it was the Seattle Seahawks vs the Philadelphia Eagles). Rueben was behind the bar and asked the manager to put my game on the tv directly in front of me so I could enjoy it. I was told by several people to try this place out. My family and I visited yesterday. We didn't actually do any of the activities available because of the time frame we had set(how long the restaurant took). The restaurant part of this place wasn't the best. We waited about 35-40 min for our food to come out. Mind you, we only had 2 salads and a side of chicken wings. These dishes are quite basic, so it should not take that long to prepare. There was only 1 other party visible in the entire restaurant. The party next to us who arrived after we did, ordered several dishes and seemed to have received their food around the same time we did, although we got their 30-40 min prior. The chicken tasted as if it were frozen and cooked in a microwave, but the salads were great according to my family. The price for bowling was extremely high. For 3 people to play for just one hour with a pair of shoes each, came out to $45.00. That's outrageous! You can bowl for $10 each including your shoes for unlimited time with 3 games at other bowling alleys. The other activities seemed pricey as well. I do want to go back and check out their virtual reality and laser tag at some point. Overall, Main Event has a lot going on, and seems to be overpriced. Booked the Ultimate Gamer package for our 9 year old. It's $25 per child but be aware that there will be additional fees plus tax and tip. Food portion was good. We went with the two sliders and fries. They do have Laser Tag now so make sure to take advantage of this. I recommend doing it first because it gets busy. For the few times that I've visited main Event, I usually have fun playing the games and using the bowling ally. My only disappointment as of late is they have few food choices to choose from, the cocktail drinks are not that great and the service is a bit slow. Well, let's start with Google saying that Main Event opens at 9am on Sundays, yet when we arrived at 10am they were still closed. Apparently they don't open until 11am. Now, I don't know if it's Main Event's fault for not updating google with its current hours, but definitely it does not show well for them. I would think that most people use a search bar such as Google to get times like I did. Now because I already promised my children we would go bowling and play arcade games we are forced to sit outside in the rain for almost an hour. We have been here for dinner before. The food is typical of what you would expect from an entertainment facility like this. It's definitely a step below Applebee's, Chili's, or other food establishments but definitely a step above McDonald's, Burger King, and other fast food places. The food is a little bit overpriced for what you get in my opinion but it is a huge tourist area so that is to be expected as well. It's always very clean here. Definitely cannot complain about that aspect. The staff is relatively friendly on occasion you will encounter some rudeness but that really shouldn't be held against the company. You typically have to pay to park in the garage but if you spend money at main event they will give you a parking garage voucher so you don't have to pay. Unlike the pointe Orlando location, some main events have laser tag, putt putt, or rock climbing. I was disappointed that this location had bowling and the ropes course above. For another $20 you can play the virtual reality zombie game. Some of my friends thought the extra $$ was worth it! I honestly had a good time on the limited games they had. It was definitely easy to spend $50 a night here. There's a big mix of people -- young to old, female and male. If you're looking for the biggest bang for your buck, come on a Monday when it's unlimited arcade games for $20. Trust me -- it's a great deal. FOOD: i will say, the bar is pretty reasonably priced. Beer is like $7 for a pretty large glass. Food looks like typical bar food. I was told it's okay. The spot is beautiful, big and very colorful. I was extremely let down because initially we went in to bowl and oh my what a headache that was we had two lanes 17 & 18. 18 was such a headache the screen wasn't working, we wasted more than 25 minutes trying to get situated for a toddler to play on that lane. Just one little toddler. Then lane 17 froze for like 10 minutes. Very tedious things to have to deal with. When every minute counts they didn't grant us extra minutes so that was a bummer. Pedro tried his best to help us and was very kind as he helped get the management aware of what was happening. If this would have not happened I would have given them 5 stars. Side note the chicken quesadilla was delicious. The chicken wings and drumsticks were delicious Mondays they have a special unlimited play for $11. I hope they try a bit better with customer service and providing lanes and machines that work. See if you find another location if not try them but beware. read more

This place is a Score! Ever since I saw the big screen of PAC MAN I felt in love I left my inner child out in main event. We spent the majority of the time on the regular video games! The place also have a restaurant which we didn't got to try this turnaround! Next time! Good value and you can load a card up with credits instead of putting cash in the machines. There are also some special offers on bowling on certain evenings so check them out. Great concept but service sucks and the virtual reality game has too many glitches. First I gotta say their staff has terrible attitude. Luckily the manager tries hard enough to make things right ( still with an attitude) but at least she got us taken cared of. Apparently the pricing for the VR game is more expensive after 5pm while their website lists only one same price throughout. You're better off buying it online or come before 5pm. We arrived around 4 pm so we figured we will order in person since it's easier. The cashier charged us for 5pm pricing even though we were there way before 5. We didn't realize about the price change after we got the receipt and saw it was $4 difference per person ! Eventually we were able to get the manager to refund us the difference back. A During the game there were too many glitches. Some of us weren't syncing at the beginning during the practice time. During the game the view was blurry regardless of how we adjusted the sight. Bowling, laser tag, 1 hr of arcade time pizza, salad and drinks. They were very accommodating of allergies, making a gluten free pizza for a child. The bar was well stocked. Clean and fun. If I could give 0 stars I would. We booked a VIP experience online for 4 of us for 2 hours of bowling. We arrived and were given a lane in an area where we were the only customers playing. We thought it must be the "VIP" area and we were the only "VIPs" at that time but we weren't really sure as we were not told anything about our VIP experience when we checked in. I had to see someone twice - once to ask for a server and was told that they are short staffed and will send someone when they are available. After about 30 minutes, 2 servers were at a server station near us. I approached them and asked if they were there to assist us and one said she was but she was stocking the station first. I said no problem. They both disappeared and didn't return. The doors to the station were left wide open with some supplies on top but she must have gotten sidetracked with something else as she never came back. I then went to see someone because it became very hot and asked if the air could be turned down in our area. I was told it would take hours for the air to actually make a difference. Still no server came back. We were about to leave when we were told by a nice person at the front desk that they were moving us to another area of the facility which should be cooler. We decided to give it a try and it was in fact, cooler so that was a positive. No wonder we were the only people over in the other area, little to no A/C and no service! I'm not sure if that was the designated "VIP" area but if so, there is nothing VIP about it. Again, no server so we went to the bar ourselved to get a few drinks and that was also a hassle which I won't even bother to explain here but safe to say we finished our game and left. I thought about stopping at the front desk to try and understand what was supposed to be different about our VIP experience vs the regular bowling but decided to just get out of there. Would it really make a difference? From the sign at the front desk with the bowling rates, we would have save a lot of $$ by just walking in. Bottom line, we bowled 2 games, didn't get any service and paid just under $100 for this so called "VIP" experience. There are a lot of bowling/indoor arcade type placed in Orlando. 3.5 stars for a fun but expensive venue. After enjoying a fun Yelp event at this venue a couple months ago, I decided to take my wife and her friend to check it out. Located in the Point Orlando plaza underneath the Regal Theater, Main Event is essentially what would happen if you combine juiced-up Dave and Buster's with a bowling alley. When you walk inside, you walk up through a wide open area to a front desk...if you want to bowl. If you don't want to bowl (as we found out), you proceed to other areas to sign up for various entertainment options or to get some food or drinks. Since we weren't in the mood to bowl (although it is fun and involves cute pictures taken of you as you bowl and large tv screens), we walked through the arcade and signed up for their virtual reality experience. While the virtual reality experience is amazing and really fun and interesting, the $35 price tag made doing it more than once a bit cost prohibitive (glad we didn't have kids to pay for). If you can pay to try the VR, I recommend signing up for the Zombie shooting game (games run about 15 minutes). After we finished our VR experience, we looked to sign up for the ropes course. It was a very fun experience where you are tied in to a course above the arcade and get to walk on ropes and beams, but $9 a person made this activity also feel overpriced. While waiting for the VR and ropes course experiences to start, we checked out the arcade. They have lots of fun games throughout the area (the virtual racing games were very especially fun and competitive). However, each game play cost $1.50! Once again, the pricing just seemed too high for the particular activity (and the prizes for tickets were average at best). I don't mind spending money to have fun, but spending a couple hundred dollars for a venue that is only a couple steps above Dave and Buster's just isn't something I'm interested in repeating. I guess it works for rich tourists, but the pricing just isn't competitive enough to bring in Orlando residents or repeat customers. Overall, Main Event is a fun venue with some great features (including an amazing VR experience). While the VR alone is worth giving this place a look, the uncompetitive pricing in a market full of entertainment options will prevent Main Event from coming up on my radar very often. read more
