Came to this location to have a good time. Saw Jordan, a manager, harass kids about stuffed animals that were taken from a broken machine. These stuffed animals were placed back into the machine for other patrons to win and take home. With covid and other communicable diseases is main event not worried another the spreading of germs? I came here a few weeks ago on a Friday night. The service was terrible!!! First we paid for our lanes. We were told that it would be a 45 minute wait so we decided to go to the bar to eat and have a few drinks. The problem is, no one acknowledged us at the bar whatsoever. I had to track two or three people down to place an order. We were told to move to the booths closer to the bowling lanes because they had a waiter working over there. We still didn't get acknowledged over there. Then two different people came up to us and said that they would be helping us. At this point, 45 minutes had already passed and it was time to go bowling. As we get to our bowling lane, we were asked for the fifth time by the 5th person what our food order was. Shortly after, our food finally came out. I was highly irritated by this. Who wants to eat with their fingers and bowl at the same time. Disgusting!!!!! I wanted to eat first, then Bowl. So we are literally eating our food in between our turns. I'm having to sanitize my hands after each time I bowl so that I can take another bite of my food. Went here for the first time today with a friend and my son, we went at 12pm and it wasn't very busy. But, the staff was terrible. We couldn't get anyone to take our drink order so I went up to the bar to get a dr.pepper and the lady working over there didn't even acknowledge me, she just kept playing on her phone. Then when we ordered food it took a long time to come out. The food was not good at all, I got a burger that was still pink in the middle and my friend got pasta that didn't have ANY sauce. We asked for no bacon on our cheese fries and they put bacon on anyway. Although the service was terrible the bowling was fun. They don't have mini golf so I was kind of disappointed. The new remodeled Main Event is like when your apartment complex wants more money but doesn't want to spend too much, so they put on a fresh coat of paint and double your rent by calling it a "remodeled apartment". The prices are crazy, one lane of bowling for an hour for three is over $50. And we're not talking state-of-the-art bowling here, it's fairly comparable to other bowling places. We had to wait 20 minutes "for a lane to open up" even though there were 4-5 perfectly working lanes with no one at them. There were like 20 staff when we went (Saturday afternoon) and a majority were just talking to each other instead of paying attention to the lanes (for food/drink orders). They have little tablets that you can order stuff from, but we tried and eventually had to flag down an employee that was chatting with another employee to order drinks. Overall, it's just as bad as it was before the remodel, but much more expensive. read more

Every time I walk in to this main event I feel the dirty ness come over me. I walk up to the desk there's three managers and two people at the registers. I stand there waiting and no one helps me until I say something then they help me happens every time. I don't get it don't you want me to spend my money. I play billiards and as I get the pool table balls I see table that are dirty all over the place and a terrible smell of old pizza comes over me. Like garbage! I bring my child here because It is close by but please clean up the place. So dirty and the people that work here seem like they don't care. Disaster after disaster almost ruined my daughter's 8th birthday party. Bowling started 10 minutes late on only two lanes instead of three because they couldn't turn on new lanes; by 5:20 (the party started at 5), I had three bored boys, one boy crying because he hit himself in the face with a ball (don't ask), & 7 girls yelling and screaming because the computer kept skipping bowlers. Then THOSE two lanes died a miserable death at 5:30. There are a few things that keep this from being the dreaded 1 star review: 1) we've been to this place several times and enjoyed ourselves; 2) I drank two double Jack & Cokes; 3) the two teenaged party "helpers" really tried their best in a bad situation; 4) the manager gave the kids extra game cards when bowling died 5) at the end of the night, he only charged me $27 for the rest of the party (I had already prepaid $119) instead of $150. They have a ton of weekly specials, so hit up the website before you go. Big tip, never go on a weekend! read more

It's Monday night madness! How much is it for unlimited billiards, bowling, laser tag, and shuffleboard? $10! How much is it for unlimited arcade games? $10! Do they have beer specials on this night of madness? Yes! Are you going to have fun? Yes! They've got plenty of tables for pool and they're all nicely taken care of. The bowling lanes are kinda crappy. They don't put enough wax on them. When I throw my curve balls they catch to fast and end up curving way before they even get to the pins, so you'll have to do some major adjusting. Laser tag is way fun. They have 2 rooms for this. One is a large single level room and the other is a large multilevel room. The multilevel room is the bestest! The arcades are cool too, they have all types of games and I'd think their selection is very comparable to Dave and Buster's. The wells drinks at the bar seem to be strong according to some of my friends, so tip well! As for the beer specials various domestics were $2 or $3 dollars and I think imports are a little more like always. If you ain't got shit to do on a Monday night, this is the place to be! read more

This place is very nice but not like the one in Austin. In Austin they have golf and some other fun things. For my son who is 2 it is not the best place. They have arcade games but we have to many points and coins other places. We came we saw and left. I am sad it is not better for younger ones. I miss indoor putt putt golf. Main Event is a hodge podge of arcade games, a bowling alley, laser tag, and a bar. I love there is a bar here. This is not the usual place I would go, it's family orientented, there's a lot of kids running around, and it's in North Plano. However, I did enjoy myself. I sat with friends at the bar and had a few drinks, then I destroyed them in a game of bowling. My friend's little brother had a field day in the laser tag room. Everyone around us seemed to be having a good time, and the family bowling next to us was really nice. The bartenders were good, and the drinks were pretty cheap. I would suggest going to Main Event with a group of good friends on a night they have a discount, and checking it out. read more

Overall we had a pretty good time until the end of our adventure... I took the kids for a round of bowling, video games and laser tag.. oh yeah.. and lunch :).. We went on a Sat. around noon. There were very few people there. Bowling was great no crowds.. so no pressure.. spent a little over 40 bowling (1hr with shoes for 3) and bought lunch (around 30 something). Then onward to Laser Tag.. Great game they split us up in 3 groups. One of the kids was specifically focusing on the "ticket" redemption games, and won a couple thousand tickets... Time to leave.. lets redeem our tickets and get outta here.. !!! Wait.... the "gate" is locked.. is it closed??? with two kids in tow.. desparately wanting to trade in their new tickets for "high valuables.." like candy... lol we searched for an employee... "is the redemption center closed? " we just spent 2 hours winning tickets... He looked at me and the kids.. "was there a lock on the gate?".. I looked at him and said.. "yes".. "well then..I guess its closed.. come back some other time"... WTF... Really? so you let these kids spend 80 bucks on ticket games only to have the redemption center closed.. and then... even when confronted with the situation.. you still dismiss it??? We had a great time and spent a decent amount of money there last Sat. I certainly had a good experience except for that last "rip off" part. I usually take the kids to Dave and Busters in Frisco.. Main Event reminds me a lot of Dave and Buster, but a little more family oriented. There's is an arcade, though most of the games are pretty lame and overpriced. Laser tag, which is fun if not somewhat dated, I honestly tough Laser Tag came and went sometime in the mid to late 80's. A word of warning for anyone with Asthma or kids who have Asthma, you might want to skip the laser tag. They put some sort of smoke or chemical in the air, it had both me and my friend coughing. They also have bowling with all sorts of bells, whistles, and crazy lights as well as Billiards. They have a full bar, not just a few cocktails and crappy watered down beer. The food is basic, snacks stuffs and bar fare. The sad part is, the food sucks, and the service is inept. I was with a small group of friends we placed our food order and waited, and waited, and waited. Finally after like 20-30 minutes we asked where our food was and they had lost the ticket. Eventually we get our food, a quesadilla, some cheese sticks, and a giant pretzel. The giant pretzel was hard and stale, there was almost no cinnamon sugar on it, ate a few bites and tossed it. Total waste of money food wise. My advice is eat before you get here. read more

The dining area was dirty. I had to grab the attention of an employee to clean off some tables that have been unoccupied and dirty for a while. That employee never addressed the issue. After waiting 15-20min my sister-in-law had to track down a staff member to make her clean off the table. Even then, they only cleaned it half way, walked away and never returned. We then had to track down the manager to finish cleaning the table. We weren't the only customers who had to pry service from the staff. Other customers had to hound staff members to get clean tables. The food quality, ok which is surprising given my past experiences with their food. We were a table of 15. Ugh. You could have a MUCH better time playing Wii Sports bowling at home. For twice the price of seeing a movie (with concessions), bowling at Main Event is a gigantic rip-off. First, our lane stopped setting pins 3 frames into the game. We went and found an employee (do they not hire anyone over the age of 17?), who said she called it in and the mechanic was working on it. 10 minutes later.. still not fixed. At least they added more play time free of charge. Once the pins started working again, we bowled a few more frames and then the ball return became stuck. I was like, are you serious? We found another employee, who again called it in on his walkie-talkie and said the mechanic was working on it. More play time added. I asked if we could simply switch to a different lane (it wasn't busy and there were several empty lanes nearby). Response? "The mechanic is working on it." Uh, ok.. 10 minutes later, they switched us to a different lane. What a genius idea, I wish I had thought of it! Oh, wait. I did. 10 minutes ago. The second lane had no problems, but I was pretty frustrated with the lack of proactive customer service. I also saw the teenaged workers running around asking each other what to do about our situation. No managers, apparently. Yes, it's really cool when they turn on the black lights and the disco lights and everything is shiny and glow-in-the-dark-y but it's not worth the overpriced rates or receiving customer service from 16 year olds. read more

We went on a Saturday early evening. $34 for bowling. Nuh uh. We each got the Summer Fun Pass, $17.95 includes bowling, laser tag, and billiards. This location doesn't have rock climbing wall, mini golf or gravity ropes (also included in the price). Had about a 15-20 minute wait for a lane, so hung out at the bar. Once assigned a lane, we could only bowl for 1 hour, then we'd have to get on the waitlist again. After our hour was up, we played laser tag. That was pretty fun. To see a small kid screaming "we need DEFENSE, get back to the base!!!" was hilarious. Walked around the arcade, games are not impressive and require you to spend more money. Didn't order anything to eat, even though the menu had several options. Also, it seemed way too warm. Not sure if the AC was functioning properly, but was slightly uncomfortable. Overall it was okay, but I'd like to think there are nicer options. Maybe would enjoy a weeknight better when there are less kids. read more

When she showed back up I asked for a drink and apparently I ordered something really complicated because it took her a reeeeeeeeally long time to mix the drink. She also didn't use any shakers to make my drinks. The second drink I ordered the ingredients were all wrong and it tasted awful. Finally, I came back for my tab and the bartender was sitting on the other side having a full conversation joking and laughing with another employee. She spotted me and kept on with her talk with one of the servers. When that was finished she headed over to me and stopped to help someone who had just walked up to the bar before helping me, who had been standing there waiting on her. read more

Went here on saturday to do some karaoke. I haven't tried any of their other services. The place was pretty packed. The karaoke room is awesome. It is a huge room could fit probably 15 people. The karaoke room is $8 for every half hour, then you have to pay $1 per song. You can probably do 5 songs in a half hour. The karaoke machine is very high tech. It is all touch screen and easy to use. They give you two microphones for the room. The only complaint I have about this place is the song list needs to be updated. Although it's nicely renovated, the service is crumby. It took the waiters 30 minutes to acknowledge our table AFTER we flagged down waiters and servers every 10 minutes. It's a pretty cool place to just relax and hang out with friends when you don't have anything to do. I personally like hanging out at the pool hall. They usually play the kind of music that I listen to as well. Haven't really tried their bowling allies yet, but from what it looks, you can have a lot fun bowling here also. As for the arcade area, I have to admit, they have some weird games there... Not a lot in that area really have me interested. Overall, great place for family and friends! I would like to give a HUGE thank you to the staff! Today was our 6 yr olds birthday. Originally we had a party planned at another venue. When we arrived at the place to find the entire building was without power due to the storm I had a very upset child and 20 guest standing around trying to figure out what to do next. I called Main Event to see if they had power. I explained my situation to the lady on the phone and asked if they could accommodate us in any way. She was very gracious by letting our party come and set up in their dining area. We ordered food and drinks, and the kids played games. Afterwards we had cake and gifts. This is a great place for family or a group of friends. They have so much to do here. They have tons of pool tables, bowling, DDR, drum machines, a million crane machines including the GIANT CRANE which cost $2. ski ball, hoops, laser tag, deal or no deal, and many more fun arcade type games that give you points that you can use to buy prizes from their vast collection. They have a bar too for the adults and a great little "restaurant" with everything from big burgers meals to fried pickles to some tex mex fare. We just wanted a snack, so we shared some glorious fried pickle spears which were served with ranch dressing. They were crispy and still crunchy. The batter even had dill weed in it. Yummers! Upon the cashiers reccomendation, we also ordered the breadsticks. You can get these with either spicy cheese sauce, garlic butter or marinara. The breadsticks were devine! I never thought I'd really say that about a snack stand's breadsticks, but these were golden brown and crunchy on the outside and soft and very warm on the inside. The lights on the games are mesmerizing and will make you feel like a kid again. But then again the whole place kind of has that quality to it. When you first walk in you notice the colorful balls and squish toys in the crane machines then the nice lit up lanes with thier pink, green and blue bowling balls. It's a fun place to go and unwind and forget about adult responsibilities for a couple of hours The games only take game cards. They have machines that you put money into and you push how many cards you want from the amount of money you put in. If you have 4 kids and you put in $20 you can give each kid their own card with 5 each. The cards are reloadable and you can register them too. You slide your cards through a credit card like swipper on each of the machines. The machine will deduct the amount from your card and also put any points you win onto your card. They also have a machine where you can check your cards balance and how many points you have. The only real complaint my stepson had about this place is that one of the machines he really enjoys wasn't functioning properly. Tuesdays are half price days. It's been awhile since the Last time I was here. It's now really nice and neat and more organized. The only reason I gave it 3 stars is because of the price for using the arcade, it has gotten a lot more expensive and not really kid friendly. May have to wait up to about thirty minutes for a lane. Large selection of current video games. Karaoke room looks fun for small parties. The laser tag is decent. And they have bocce ball which I've never played before tonight. The rules and scoring were a little complicated but we still had a good time. And the alcoholic drinks were reasonable. Paid $5.95 for an amaretto sour and 4$ for a tall Dos Equis. The service was just a little slow. Thought the people checking you in at the front could have been a little more efficient. Well I must say I truly love how this place is laid out! However I'm not sure if they train their staff to greet people or if this is just the new generation of kids coming up. Short and to the point and I had to guide a few of them on how to ask a question or ever just simply greet people. It's most certainly a place for the kiddos to run around and play some games, bowl or do laser tag! Food, drinks and fun with your friends and family! They have an area in the middle of the place where are the kids can have they birthday parties. It's decorated really nice. Full bar for the grown kids and lots of TV for the grown-ups that need to get a way a just relax. The set-up is nice I must say. Only giving a 3 because the food tasted like it was frozen and just warmed up in the microwave, couldn't really find our server, and took a while for drinks to come out. Was not that busy, so I'm not sure what was going on! But over all so thankful they took our family photo at the end. **Make sure to make a reservation if you are having a party or going on the weekend, it will be a wait and they keep everyone on a timed scheduled. 5 STAR for family fun and birthday time - 3 start because of the food & service.
