For the most part we were satisfied with our visit, but it most certainly did not live up to the hype. When we arrived for my daughter's birthday party we were told by an employee at the front desk to have a seat and wait for our party host but after waiting 20 minutes we decided to revisit the front counter. And sure enough our hostess had not even been made aware we had arrived. With that said, the birthday hostess did a pretty good job, she kept us on track for the rest of the event. However I will say that we ordered extra pizzas and drinks, the pizzas were pretty good but our drinks were served to us with one or two pieces of ice per cup which was kind of ridiculous. even with the poor service upon arriving I probably would have still rated main event with a four-star rating but The poor reception and lack of ice in our drinks plus the fact that they ran out of ice cream for the big super fun Sunday "which is one of the main reasons my daughter picked main event for her birthday party" Makes me feel that they are lucky that I'm giving them three stars. I got to say a place that host birthday parties probably should be well stocked with ice cream, I honestly think the waiter just didn't want to deal with it As he looked very tired and not too excited to be there not to mention it took way to long from the time we got seated to the time the waiter visited our table. If you're thinking about having your birthday party at Main Event I have to say that it is decently priced compared to other birthday party event venues. In other words you get a pretty good bang for your buck just be prepared to be disappointed by the Somewhat disappointing service. Just in case you're wondering, After Buying three extra pizzas, a around of soda for all of the adults, An extra $10 game card for all of the kids, tipping our Hostess and paying for a party for 10 kids we paid about $400 total. The birthday party event itself included a party space for 1 hour, a $10 game card for each of the kids, two large pizzas for the kids to share unlimited drinks for all the kids and I believe 500 Winners choice points for the birthday girl and a round of laser tag. *Poor *Decent *Good *Great *Best *JLFoodie Certified Food. Roll, loaded mashed potatoes, corn, stuffing, green beans almondine, turkey/gravy, pork tenderloin, salmon w/cream sauce and apple streussel

I went to a catered event and was so surprised at how delicious the food was. The salmon, the potatoes and the fruit Crumble were the standouts. Even the buttered rolls were nice and the turkey was moist and flavorful, along with the pork tenderloin. The food received a 5. We played bowling but the balls are in bad shape and felt icky. Also, the puck of the air hockey kept getting stuck in the center. This was frustrating as we had a disabled person in our party who had to continually raise himself up from his wheelchair or I had to try and squeeze between ours and the other air hockey table in use. This took the fun out of the game having to continuously pause during the game. Otherwise it might have earned a higher score.

Went there great place to bowl they actually allow you to bowl by the minute, so if you only have a quick 30 minutes, you can bowl a very reasonable price? The staff were super nice super clean places as well. Great place. Take the Family and have a party.

I had to order at the Bar even though I was sitting at a table in the family kitchen area. I ordered the chopped Caesar salad with grilled chicken.. my chopped lettuce was brown and wilted , tomatoes were soggy and tasted spoiled. I had no croutons, and the salad dressing was thick and sour. :( on a good note, the plate was cold and not warm right out of the dishwasher. Not ever ordering food here again.

What a fantastic venue for the Granddaughter's Birthday! I hadn't been to one of these in over 12 years and WOW! Our party of 8 had a fantastic time! This location is really easy to find, to get in and get out of! Plenty of parking even with a classic muscle car show taking place in an adjoining parking lot! Building is well maintained and very clean! The staff at the main counter were exceptionally friendly and helpful! They guided us so we didn't over buy and helped us plan our time! This made our celebration significantly more enjoyable! A real win for them in the long term as we'll be back a few more times! We started at the bowling alley. Shoes were in great shape and plenty of balls options with proper hole sizes! The ability of these lanes to have pop up bumpers is nice for the youngsters! The score keeping and graphics kept the youngsters smiling! The food service to the lanes was fast, quick and attentive! Very helpful! As the arms grew tired we moved over to the arcade! A huge variety of options and the pass made it fast and fun! No need for a pocket full of change! All had a great time and the birthday girl really enjoyed the time! Prices were exceptionally reasonable for the entertainment and options.

If it was in Bar Harbor it would be a maine event.

There are a variety of games- PacMan, a foosball like hockey game, racing games, pinball, frogger, shooting games, old classics like Fix-it-Felix, DDR, shooting hoops, skee ball and more! It's relatively clean and employees come help is something is glitchy or a ball is stuck in the basketball game, for example. They play music at an appropriate volume (this place is way less deafening than cidercade, and less crowded too!). I've never had food/ alcohol here so can't speak to that. It's definitely a great place to go, especially with a buddy, to get competitive and just unwind a little! My only complaint- the arrows in DDR are not very sensitive and tend to stick a little on their machines. It's very hard to adjust the initial difficulty level because the DOWN arrow on both sides of their machine is so not-receptive to touch you have to jump on it with intense force to move it from basic to more difficult. I'm actually pretty good at DDR and kept getting BOOS from arrows I was hitting. So just don't come here specifically for a DDR marathon and you won't be disappointed. I took my grandson to NickelRama a little over a week ago, while he was visiting from Ohio…read more Having never been, I had no expectations other than to think we were going to an "arcade." I had looked up NickelRama online just to verify that fact, and in so doing I read that all the arcade games were, go figure, a "nickel!" Anyhoo, what I did not realize was that NickelRama are a chain of "play for tickets" arcades, where one may then redeem the tickets for "prizes," akin to that which one might imagine winning at a carnival "Guess Your Age/Weight Booth," where number of prizes range from a stick of chewing gum or pencil topper on the low end to perhaps something electronic on the far upper end, depending on the number of tickets being redeemed. My grandson was fully aware of what we were getting into, as I quickly learned. After we made entry and each received our initial $10.00 purchase of 200 nickels, presented to us loose, in plastic cups, he immediately began searching the arcade for what he determined to be the game that would result in us accumulating the most tickets. This was not his first rodeo and he certainly knew the "name of the game" was quantity over quality, as far as ticket acquisition goes. The idea that we might challenge one another in some friendly video game mano a mano competition was quickly replaced by us challenging an electronically crafted gizmo to give up the most tickets possible, for later turn-in and prize procurement! As such was inevitable, he found THE game and thus, the challenge was on. It took us each about 45 minutes to burn through our 200 nickels. Well, I actually left the particular game and sought some variety of play, after about 160 or so nickels. That was short lived however, as I quickly realized my grandson's assessment was correct and the game to which he remained attached was the one that was most generous in spitting out tickets. Hence, I returned to sit beside him at the adjacent game and fed the remainder of my nickels into the machine. When our nickel cups were empty, I urged my grandson to walk about and seek out other possible games, but he quietly reminded me none were as generous as the one we'd just left. Still, I was seeking variety so, I enticed him with an additional cup of 100 nickels. He retrieved the cups and we began playing a game somewhat similar to THE game, but as he pointed out it just wasn't as lucrative. So, we went back to the machines we first sat at and fed. After a short period, we both were done and ready to feed our tickets into the Ticket Counters for tabulation. The ticket counters, booth count AND slice the tickets in half so they may not be reused/recounted. As our tickets were counted, he was declared the winner, by his count exceeding mine, by about 800 tickets! In total, we had a combined give or take 5300 tickets, with which he could now utilize to "shop" for prizes. With an "All-in" investment of just at $40, including the $5 entry fee for each of us to the NickelRama, he was able to get a tiny rubber eraser, a pair of large foam dice, and a plastic foam ball pop gun. In the end, I considered it money well spent, since the goal of the trip was to spend some quality time out with my grandson. He had fun and I had fun! He was shown that he was valued by my following his lead in our quest. And, he outperformed me in the acquisition of tickets! If you're looking to spend some time with your little ones and you want them to feel good about themselves, a NickelRama can fill that need! If you go, just keep in mind, that the quality is not in the prizes but in the time spent together! Live well. Be well. Cheers!

I would love to give this place 5 stars. However, we paid for one hour. First issue was the names. They got one of the names wrong. They put Paul instead of Ethan. So no big deal. We waited around for a time while they fixed that. Then we started our adventure. We had fun BUT then as we solved the adventure, the VERY END was about to happen. We just did our very last objective aaaaaaand the screens went black. The girl said our time ran out. We looked at the clock for our escape room and it said 49 minutes. Which means they started the clock on our time 11 minutes before we started the game! Which caused us to miss the big ending! What a let down. And that also means they were running the clock the entire time we were just waiting while they tried to fix the name mistake that they made. By the way, they also spelled my name as Jejfff instead of Jeff but we let that one ago. I didn't feel like paying another 11 minutes just for them to fix that name too. I mentioned to the girl at the end that we didn't get to see the ending. We still should have 11 more minutes! But she just looked at me blankly and said "oh sorry". Sooooo. I wanted to like it. But I feel we were sort of jipped out of the escape room ending. UPDATE: We returned and the situation was resolved! We did a different escape room this time ("Alice" at the owners suggestion), and the experience was very cool. Our time was not cutoff, and we finished the room within the hour. Everyone was friendly and polite. We will be back for sure. Thanks for the resolution! The ooooonly complaint is that I would prefer the goggles to be more thoroughly cleaned between patrons using them. A few of us had that issue, blurry dirty goggles. But that's a minor complaint. Great job!
