    Philadelphia Cheesesteak Adventure
    James P.

In the spirit of the Super Bowl, they were who I thought they were. Very good ingredients, very well made, maybe a touch small and maybe a few cents more than I would have liked. It was a slow Saturday afternoon, I saw one of their specialty sandwiches was 'The South Philly.' I asked if they could make my cheesesteak a 'The South Philly' and they said yes. So my Cheesesteak came with roasted peppers, fresh spinach and mozzarella. The food looked good, so I got a cookie. I'm glad I got the cookie. Very good overall experience.

Main Line Pizza is so far my favorite pizza in the Wayne area for a basic pie. I have tried 4 other places before Main Line looking for a good plain cheese pizza, and their combo has been the best for take out. There are other pizza places in the area that have more "fancy" type pizzas that I enjoy as well, but sometimes I really just want a basic cheese pizza. Compared to other plain cheese pizzas in the area, Mainline has had the best: -tasting crust -tasting sauce -tasting cheese combination It also reheats extremely well the next day which is a must for me. Also, they have been the only place that believes a large pizza is 18 inches and not 16 inches so that is a huge bonus. Only downside I had with their pizza was the bottom crust. In my opinion it was undercooked and not crunchy enough. That is why I enjoyed it more the next day when I made it crispier on the skillet. Could have been the lemon pizza of the night and not typical for them. And I'm definitely going to give them another try.

    Delicious!!

The best pizza straight cheese in Wayne. The only 18 inch that we could find. As a note, I love pepperoni and my partner wants to try the pizza the first time as cheese only, so we get half and half. All of the pizzas in Wayne do a 40% 60% instead of a true 50/50 cheese pepperoni rationing. I get that it saves money and because every single pizza place does it, there's no foul here. We had various problems with other pizzas in town that we didn't have with Main Line. Other pizzas places in town either had tasteless cheese, not adequate sauce, bad crust, etc. Main Line half cheese half pepperoni was excellent! The cheese is really delicious, the sauce was great and the crust was good. Even reheated the pizza made me want to get another pie! I really liked it. It's the kind of pizza that reminds you how much you love pizza! For a no frills take out pizza I'd only recommend Main Line Pizza.

    Vegetable Delight Pizza

Very disappointed with the state of our pizzas upon arrival. Both pizzas have clearly been sliding around on their way over. We called immediately to explain what we had experienced and the response was "what do you want to do about it", "the vegetable pizza is a heavy pizza" We wanted a refund since we are from out of town and quite frankly did not care to get the pizzas remade. The end result was a credit. At the end of the conversation the woman stated is there anything else I can do? I advised they talk to the delivery driver and suggest not to allow the pizzas to slide around. The response I got was "yea they were hot". Aren't they all supposed to be? Looking forward to a call from a manger or owner (which she said would since none were available on this Sunday evening. *updated: the manager or owner did call me back and was very apologetic and allowed a refund since we are from out of town

My burnt zero carb pizza. Read my review for details. Normally this is my favorite too :(
    Siobhán C.

I have ordered many times from Main Line. They have the best pizza. This includes their zero carb crust. I reviewed back when they first started offering it last fall and loved it! I ordered one for lunch today and was so disappointed! It was not only burnt, but COLD! It wasn't even warm! The cheese had solidified, the toppings were cold and it arrived 15 minutes late! The kicker was, when I called to let them know, the man I spoke with told me I was wrong. I was very calm and polite until he insisted that it couldn't possibly be cold and told me I was exaggerating. This was the worst customer service I have ever received from Main Line Pizza. I hope they teach that man how to speak to customers before I order again!

Catering - 1/2 Pan - Mini Penne with "Pesto".

Dear Reader, I ordered a catering lunch for our executive team, and there were lots of leftovers. The chicken didn't look fully cooked, the salad dressings looked gross (odd in color/consistency - and no one touched them), and the "Housemade Pesto Sauce" was not pesto. Attached is a picture. It looks like they dumped dried basil into some oil, which didn't even taste like olive oil. Now, I make pesto sauce at home from scratch and I've lived in Italy - I KNOW what pesto looks and tastes like. Basil is an incredibly pungent herb with a strong scent & flavor. Their "Pesto" was not made with fresh basil, as the flavor was simply not there. The cheap jarred pesto that I mistakenly bought once in the italian aisle at the grocery store was better than their dish... yeah. Anyway, I let it go, said nothing and decided to order elsewhere next time. Then, I get a phone call from someone asking me what I thought of the order. I proceeded to tell him these things, and then he started arguing with me, saying that people "rave" about their pesto, and that they don't add nuts for allergy purposes, and then he had the audacity to say that he should have called me to see if I wanted the parmesan. Are you serious?!?! If I didn't want Parmesan and Pine Nuts, then I wouldn't have ordered Pesto. They called ME. And then argued with me, which was very rude. They have no idea what pesto is, and I don't have time for the false advertising, excessive phone calls regarding popular established recipes, or their questionable chicken. The whole experience was absolutely ridiculous. Please don't call me again. I don't want freebies, discounts, or food from your establishment ever again. To Potential Customers: the Pizza might be good - but I didn't order that, and have never tried it. Don't order the catering unless you try the food first; that way there aren't any unwanted surprises. Yours Respectfully, Mrs. OrdersALot PS: The owner, Rob, was very kind and stopped by my office to personally apologize and shook my hand. That took a lot of courage after my honest review and I do believe in second chances... perhaps a pizza order in the future. What they lack in pesto, they more than make up for in timeliness, kindness, ravioli and, from what I hear, pizza. Thank you for the effort, Main Line; it was seen and appreciated ! Best, KC

After a couple 'okay' experiences, I recently went back to Triple Crown with my wife for a Saturday…read moreevening dinner and was genuinely impressed by the improvement in service--attention, speed, and energy. From the moment we walked in, the hostess greeted us with a smile, another welcomed us in by holding the door, and a third (a waiter) said good evening and welcome! These may seem like insignificant gestures but when going out to eat, no matter the restaurant (chick fil a knows haha), the treatment of patrons is important. Especially with the costs of dining out. Our waiter, Aladdin, was exceptional in every sense--energetic, kind, light hearted, and treated my wife and I with the upmost care. This should be the norm everywhere but sadly it is not. Dead Fearless management, take care of Aladdin--he is a national (Triple Crown) treasure! Food was delicious--highly recommend the Delmonico and potato puree! Can't go wrong with the apps and salads of course. We'll be back!

It was brutally loud as well; couldn't hear anything people were saying at the table. First, the total bill was about $500, and no one even ordered cocktails. That's a lot of money for what you get. I ordered the salmon, and it was microscopic, barely warm, and nothing special. It was literally a tiny piece of fish with almost nothing else on the plate. It looked more like a prison meal than something from an expensive restaurant. I've had salmon at many other restaurants where it arrived hot, was a generous portion, and was actually enjoyable. This was a real disappointment. The service was just okay. The staff clearing the plates seemed to have no idea what they were doing and actually asked us to pass our plates to them. Patrons shouldn't have to help clear the table, especially at a restaurant charging these prices. The servers constantly came by asking how everything was, but I wasn't interested in spending my wife's birthday complaining or sending food back. I shouldn't have to say, "My salmon isn't hot--please take it back." We also asked for a doggy bag, and they left items out of it. We reminded them three separate times, but they didn't seem to be listening. Someone else at the table complained that the Caesar salad tasted off. I could go on, but that's enough. Overall, the experience was disappointing, especially given the prices. I would not go back. Last thing. They have bread on the menu for $12. it is nothing more than about five tiny croissant rolls - nothing special. They don't offer free bread. Talk about taking advantage of patrons.

And the ambiance is really nice -- fancy farm to table with plush seating and pillows. If you're going to get an appetizer, I would highly recommend getting the snack board to share (unfortunately this was eaten before I got to take photos). It includes delicious biscuits paired with the most perfect sausage gravy, thick cut bacon, fruit, croissant, warm donut holes, deviled eggs, and dips/jams. THEY ARE INCREDIBLE. The gravy is jaw-dropping and perfect with the texture of the biscuit -- trust me, you have to try it!!! The donut holes are fluffy and soft fritters. I also really loved the deviled eggs' flavor. For my entree, I got the breakfast pot pie (in the photo) which had the same incredible gravy and biscuit crust as the appetizer, topped with a crispy fried egg. My sister had the Challah French Toast (peach compote) which was also incredible -- perfect without being too sweet. Both were huge portions. Service was also excellent -- our waitress very kindly brought out our toddler nieces' kids' meals first along with our appetizers. She even brought out a little sorbet on the house for my sister's birthday (which also was very very good!)

There was…read morea lot of snark and attitude detected, and we were a big party, which means she's automaticaly raking in 20% on a substantial bill. And we all got alcoholic drinks, and many with desserts. The Smoked Old Fahioned was very not good. It smelled nice, but tasted like cherry cough syrup. It was like smoked cherry cordial with a splash of well-shelf bourbon. It's probably not literally well-shelf... just an emphasis on how unpalatable this was and therefore expensive for what it is. I didnt pay $15+ for some cherry cordial. Waitress vocalized distaste when we wanted to spit checks - which we told her before placing orders. Then she gave sh** about seating arrangements; since we wanted to split checks she ordered us to sit by how checks are being split. That's a new one... She said she would have to write separate checks... an obvuous approach... I endorse that plan smh. Wouldn't that be easier when it comes to "splitting checks" when all is said and done? To treat us as separate tables but still tack on 20% per check? As we are wrapping up dinner and everyone else was looking over dessert, I told her she could bring mine now since I have a 45 min drive back to CC and I have perishables. People are now eating their dessert and she's still fussing aroundat her kiosk. I eventually approach her and asked for mine again. She got super frustrated and unprofessional, and said us wanting to split bills is (exact words) "tumultuous." Does she even know what that word means? "I thought you wrote separate checks?" But she's trying to figure out how to split like $8 rolls among like 12 people. She was like, "Then who is paying for the rolls?" That is her job to find out. I am a guest, not the host of the party. I only know three other people there. She walks to the table and says (again..exact words), "Who's paying for the rolls?" As if we are planning on dining and dashing with basic dinner rolls. Why? Because we are a table of minorities? Had we been a table of all white, would she have asked HOW we would like to have it split? I was in the dine-in food service industry for several years. I had thought splitting checks was a very common practice, and I absolutely did NOT ask patrons to sit in specific order. White Dog in UC didn't do that either (or anywhere else). Perhaps White Castle is more within her playing field. Some courses in sensitivity training may aid in her professional development. And they wanted to charge like $4 per person since someone baked cupcakes.... reminder that most people also ordered dessert on top of all this. They can go pound the sand.

The experience was a little bizarre. Their website says "Rosalie doesn't allow reservations for 1,…read moreplease just walk in". I walked in, as directed, just for a very flustered man at the front of the house to fumble with his system for a good 10 mins. Telling me there was a table, then taking it back and saying there were no tables for the night, then saying nevermind and making me a reservation for two (which I would have done if not discouraged by the website) for half an hour later. At this point I already had a very bad taste in my mouth from the level of chaos. I waited outside for my table. When I got to my table I will say my server was very nice until a strange comment came up at dessert. Once I ordered my dessert, he left and came back with two spoons, saying "I brought two spoons for us." It almost seemed implied he'd join me. I dine a lot alone, voluntarily. Most of the time it's after work and I really don't want, let alone need, company. His comment gave me anxiety as I wondered how I would politely tell this man I wanted to dine alone. When he brought the dessert he did not join me but made sure to say "I'll be back for a few bites." Maybe it was a joke but to me it was very odd and made me pretty uncomfortable. I gave three stars just for the Cacio e Pepe. It was very good. I did (without giving tmi) have a very sick stomach after the meal and the morning after so I wouldn't return just incase that was the cause. Like a said... a weird experience.
