Pretty average for a place that is supposed to be Italian cuisine. Buratta didn't really feel like a buratta. And the pizza was less Italian and more American. Would not recommend.

This review is basically for the gnocchi, which came highly recommended by a friend. The gnocchi is immersed in a broth of Kennett Square mushrooms. There are also smaller pieces of possible gnocchi in the broth. The gnocchi are the buttery soft kind that literally melt in your mouth. It easily compares to the best gnocchi dishes I've had in downtown Philly. I thoroughly enjoyed this dish and would definitely come here again just for this dish. The pistachio cream cake was great, too. I actually ordered just the pistachio gelati but was given this instead. It was excellent.

What a delightful experience at Rosalie. It's such a cute little gem with beautiful decor inside a lovely hotel. It's a nice surprise in a small town I'd heard little of but went to for a client dinner. Our server, Yasir, was excellent. We had a party of 8 and he did such a good job basically herding cats through drinks, appetizers, and entrees. For the pastas, you can do half portions and most of us chose to get half portions of two different pastas (each person) and it was just so much to remember so he deserves a lot of praise on nailing everything. For apps, we got the watermelon salad, arancini, focaccia, and Brussels sprouts. Loved it all but especially the arancini. Sooo good. For my pasta I got the gnudi and the Casoncelli. I'm a sweet and savory kind of girl which both have since they casoncelli has the golden raisins and the gnudi has the cherries so I loved those. Also they have a great selection of mocktails - I loved mine. Would definitely return - it was a 30 min drive from Philly for the work dinner but so worth it. I want to come back and bring my bf!

Plans changed and we ended up here for dinner. I felt a bit underdressed in my sweats but that's my own fault. Our waiter was so attentive and made sure we knew what was in each item after we told him we were vegetarian. There's a whole separate menu for vegetarians! The portion sizes are a bit smaller but each of the items we got were absolutely amazing!!

Cute spot with really delicious food. I came here for brunch. Service was great. We sat on the patio which was very nice. I ordered the mushroom toast and loved it. The flavor was amazing, the bread was perfect. Arugula salad was a nice side. A potato some how made its way on my plate so I can confirm they're very good too. I would definitely come back again.

Ensconced in the Wayne Hotel, Rosalie is yet another entry in Marty Grim's ever burgeoning stable of Fearless Restaurants. A few of his other diverse establishments include such popular eateries as Autograph Brasserie (also located in Wayne), the floating Moshulu at Philly's waterfront, Tucker's Tavern on Long Beach Island, and five White Dog Café outposts. But Rosalie, if you'll pardon the pun, seems to be a restaurant of a different color, presenting itself as a purveyor of "Italian Soul Food." This, however, is something of a misnomer. First of all, on the basis of what I've managed to glean from both the restaurant's website and other sources, the phrase "Italian Soul Food" is little more than poetic license. In other words, it's a fancy way of describing Italian comfort food. The various forms of Pizza here - Margherita, Suppressata, Potato, Quattro Formaggi - though hardly exceptional, are quite good. On the other hand, there are other items of infinitely more interest. Several of the starters, for instance... Arancini, saffron risotto balls with meat ragu & smoked mozzarella; Crudo, bigeye tuna, chili-garlic, agrodolce (sweet/sour sauce) & avocado; Sicilian Meatball; and Lioni Burrata with tomato jam & grilled ciabatta. But salads also sounded quite interesting as well. So, my dining partner and I decided to share the Mercato, a tempting combo of baby lettuces, pickled peppers, cherry tomatoes, red onion, and marinated cucumber, all enhanced with the subtle nuances of a parmesan vinaigrette. A wise choice. With regard to entrées, my dining partner was quite pleased with her Gnocchi (pictured). These are small, soft dumplings traditionally made with potatoes, flour, and eggs. The dough is formed into small ropes, cut into pieces, and then boiled in salted water until the dumplings float to the surface. Gnocchi are frequently served with a variety of sauces, including tomato, butter & sage, or various creamy concoctions. They may also be pan fried in order to provide a crispy texture. In this case, they are companioned by Kennett Square mushrooms, fontina cheese, and a generous splash of 8-year balsamic. The result proved a delightfully delicious crowd-pleaser. On the other hand, my entrée of choice, Lasagna alla Norma, has its own rather unique story. A variation on the Pasta alla Norma theme, which was originally called Pasta con le Melanzane, the term literally means "pasta with eggplant." This dish is typical of Sicilian cuisine, particularly from Catania, the second largest municipality after Palermo. It is made of penne or other pasta (in this case, lasagna) with tomato sauce combined with slices of fried eggplant and served with ricotta salata cheese and fresh basil. The dish was named in honor of Vincenzo Bellini, a native of Catania and composer of the opera Norma. Interestingly enough, the first time we both ordered this dish, it was something of a disappointment, arriving at table barely lukewarm... And not even a return trip to the kitchen was able to adequately ameliorate the situation. During my most recent encounter, however, the temperature was spot on. Dessert-wise, my dining partner and I finally decided to share the Limoncello Cheesecake Torte, lemon curd, citrus cake, vanilla meringue kisses . I find limoncello - in whatever form - simply impossible to resist. And the cheesecake torte was certainly no exception. Outlandishly rich... refreshingly tangy... totally addictive. A high point of the evening. One final word... During our several recent visits, we have always found the service to be first-rate. Young, attentive, and pleasantly personable. And the homey, comfortable ambiance is quite a plus as well.

Went here for to celebrate Valentine's Day with a special dinner. Immediately noticed that the place is busy, which is generally a good sign. The ambiance is clean and intimate with small LED votives and flowers on the tables. There is also a bar if you want to sit there. The food was excellent. The verde salad had a great taste. I wish some of the greenery was cut up, as some of the pieces were rather large. The service was great but felt a little rushed due to the how many people were there. The focaccia bread and spaghetti al limone that I ordered were the highlights of the meal. Enjoyed the affogato for dessert, which I'd never had before. Solid four out five stars.

Went here for lunch and although it was empty- still a very nice experience! Our server who was also the bartender was very friendly and provided amazing drink and food recommendations! I got the sopresseta pizza which was delicious! Also got a strawberry aperol spritz cocktail (which isn't on the menu) and it was so refreshing! My mom got the radiatori pasta (half version) which she said was delicious and plenty big! My boyfriend got the margarita pizza which he loved. Also, we got the focccia appetizer which was great! I loved all the imagery and ambiance was well :) Will definitely be back in the summer to sit on the patio!

If you live on Philadelphia's mainline, you've likely driven past Rosalie, located in the historic Wayne Hotel on Lancaster Avenue. Lovely ambience, an interesting menu -- not as extensive as other restaurants -- and solicitous staff. We deviated from our usual salad-then-entree dinner. My husband, who had his heart set on lamb shank, ordered the only legitimate main course amongst the three of us. My daughter and I were on the same page about trying a little of this/a little of that. That's how I'd do it again at Rosalie. Two dishes I loved: arancini, made with saffron rice, meat ragu and smoked mozzarella, is as good as NYC's Norma restaurant, my idea of the gold standard for Italian rice balls. I'm generally not much of a pizza person, but looking at Yelp photos, we ordered the Salsiccia pizza (lamb sausage, marinated squash, meyer lemon and sesame.) Somewhat puffy -- not a usual description for pizza -- and very good. Gnodi looks great, however S and I found the ricotta dumplings too doughy. We liked the accoutrements: caramelized onion, fig and hazelnut, which I used as a dip for my pizza crust. One order of the tricolore salad was ample for the three of us. I would have preferred a little less endive and more baby gem lettuce but with the buttermilk vinaigrette, candied walnuts and blue cheese, the salad was pretty darn good. If you're a lamb shank kind of person -- that wouldn't be me -- Rosalies does it right. Tender and flavorful with Greek yogurt, squash, lamb agrodolce and mint. (I had to look up "agrodolce" too! It's a sweet and sour condiment.) We ordered what they call a quartino of wine, a fancy way to say "carafe." Their bases are covered with a selection each of white, rose and red. The artisan cellar super Tuscan isn't exactly "super" but it was okay. And dessert: we shared a chocolate budino trifle (somewhat like a thick pudding) and limoncello cheesecake. The bar was hopping Friday evening. (Remember, the restaurant is attached to the hotel.) Reservations are warranted if you're there to eat, and like many restaurants, there's a 3% upcharge if you pay with a card.

I find myself dining at Rosalie's quite often because it's consistently fantastic! Recently, I had the pleasure of going with a larger group, and we decided to order a variety of entrées to share. Let me tell you, the mushroom gnocchi was such a hit that we ordered it twice! The Casoncelli also received rave reviews from everyone--it's definitely a crowd pleaser. Casoncelli veal, golden raisin, amaretti, parmesan The handmade pasta is absolutely divine and clearly prepared with passion. Rosalie's menu is wonderfully eclectic, featuring a delightful mix of rustic dishes alongside sophisticated entrées like perfectly prepared, Bronzino and juicy steaks. I also love their sharshuka served at lunchtime. The food is excellent, and the atmosphere is charming and warm, making it the perfect spot for any occasion. I highly recommend giving Rosalie's a try; you won't be disappointed! Trust me, once you experience it, you'll find yourself wanting to return over and over--just like I do!

Rosalie in Wayne is always poppin on a weekend and for good reason! Make sure to make a reservation. The food is quite delicious and flavorful, however it is definitely a bit heavy for my taste since I do not enjoy super heavy creamy food (that is just personal preference). The prosciutto was excellent and buttery and they bring it from Italy. The pasta dishes were great! I love that you can do half sizes. The gnocchi is probably the best I've had in Philly. However I did prefer the meat pasta dish we ordered. The pork was good however I was a bit thrown off by the sweetness and it was a bit too rich for me. Again -- this is just personal preference but I can see how some people would love it . The only issue we had is that we ordered the salad with dressing on the side but they still dressed it. Not a super big deal -- it was pretty busy so they must've forgotten!

We've been here a couple of times since my first review and it's still as good as the first time. Both appetizers, the Tuna Crudo and the Prosciutto with fried dough were delicious. We don't eat as much as before so it's great that you can get 1/2 portions of their pasta entrees. The Radiatori pasta (Short rib, pork shoulder, fennel sausage, San Marzano tomatoes) and the Kennett Square Mushroom Gnocchi were very very good. We were full so opted for a Cappuccino for dessert. Very nice atmosphere, with 3 rooms to choose from, along with a friendly and informed staff. They have a full bar with a wine by the glass option. Bottles seem to me to be priced on the high side. Be sure to check this place out and make sure you make a reservation. By 6:15 or so, on a Thursday night, the main dining room was just about full.

It was pathetic. When we flagged down a waiter we asked for some more blue cheese and apples. Waiter didn't even acknowledge our request and returned with a single side cup half filled with blue cheese. Non apples. I was pissed but I got the look from the wife to let it go. She ordered a loaded baked potato which came out dry which had a dab of sour cream an essence of butter, a pinch of cheese, bacon and 3 scallions on it. She asked for more Sour Cream and butter and they brought out another dab of sour cream and side order of melted butter. Not one inquiry as to how the food was. But they were quick to bring check. Miso Soup - You haven't had miso soup until you had this freshmaker version that perfectly serves two. Hands down the best version I've ever had! Nigiri - All the nigiri, all of it is good! Spicy Cucumbers - the perfect chilled vegetable to share with the table with a bit of spice and flavor that rivals my belove Han Dynasty and Dan Dan versions! Birria Bao Buns - Somehow the best queso free birria I've had might not come with a taco?! My favorite seat is the window booth that overlooks all of downtown Ardmore. We decided to try Salt & Stone recently since it was a new spot and this place did not disappoint. Upon entering the establishment, we were greeted by none other than the owners. Zara & Dimitri (not great with names but I think that's what they said) were very welcoming and patient as I inquired about all the work they've done with the interior. It looks a lot nicer inside than the previous restaurant. Now the important part. The food. Absolutely incredible. I am still disappointed I didn't try this place earlier. We started with the goat cheese lollipops (amazing), Mezze, and calimari (high quality). After the first bite, I knew we were in for a great dinner. For the main course, I ordered the Rigatoni & my wife ordered the pork chop. Both were top notch. I love a good old fashioned and I enjoy other people's takes on this. Theirs was something different with a pistachio rim. It did not disappoint. These folks know what they're doing and I'm still thinking about that meal over a week later.

Amazing food and great ambiance!…read more Don't let a few overly harsh reviews deter you from trying Cornerstone. This Main Line gem is privately owned and consistently delivers on what I'd describe as a curated, tasteful menu of appetizers and entrées. It's the kind of place that feels intentional -- elevated without being overdone. Stop in on a Saturday afternoon for a quiet, cozy lunch at the bar -- the pulled pork, burger, and salads are always a great choice. Or, for a Friday date night, grab a seat at the chef's counter for a more interactive and lively experience. The pork chop and steak frites are standouts. One tip: make reservations in advance. And to those calling out the wait staff -- I understand the sentiment. When you're investing in a night out, you expect warmth, attentiveness, and genuine hospitality. Great service matters, and it's something many places are still finding their way back to. That said, Cornerstone remains a spot worth experiencing for the food, the atmosphere, and the overall charm.

Chef/proprietor Carlo deMarco, a Villanova native, is still turning out top-notch contemporary American fare with international flair in a lively yet decidedly sophisticated setting. And, although Mr. deMarco's seasonally changing menu continues to offer his patrons exciting new possibilities, there are still a number of old favorites that I remember from my first go round. The inordinately tender yet crispy Salt Pepper Calamari with beguiling pumpkinseed aioli, for example, still makes a fabulous starter, as does the Butter Lettuce Salad garnished with Danish blue cheese, candid walnuts, shaved apple, and finished with an outstanding Champagne vinaigrette. Entrée-wise, as I mentioned in my initial review, pork still plays a major role. The Java Pork Tenderloin (pictured) with smashed yams, mango salsa, black bean sauce, and maple jus remains a house favorite, with the Grilled Pork Chop accompanied by down-home andouille-spiked mac & cheese finishing a close second. Our most recent visit, however, was somewhat different in scope, as my dining partner and I decided to take advantage of Main Line Today Restaurant Week. Which meant that though our menu choices were limited to three apps, three entrées, and two desserts, the price - $39.95 per person (plus beverages, tax & gratuity) for a three-course dinner - and the overall quality of the cuisine were more than sufficient compensation. To start things off, I chose the Spicy Asian Brussels Sprouts (pictured) embellished with peanuts, shishito peppers (shishito peppers are small mild peppers from Japan with an average of one out of ten being on the hot side), and sweet chili sauce. Brussels sprouts are just one of those vegetables... you either love them or hate them, there seems to be no middle ground. I am most definitely of the former persuasion. And, to the kitchen's credit, the sprouts were perfectly prepared... Not too crunchy; not too mushy. Just right. My only quibble is that the word "spicy" is really something of a misnomer, as there was infinitely more sweetness than spice at work here - indeed, describing the dish as "cloying," at least from my palate's perspective, would not be considered hyperbole. My dining partner's Butternut Squash Bisque (pictured), on the other hand, was spot-on perfect, a simply superb rendering of this traditional favorite. The squash is beautifully seasoned with ginger and touch of curry, then combined with sautéed onion and submerged in copious amounts of apple cider. Once puréed, hot cream is added, followed by a bit of sour cream, cinnamon, and brown sugar. The flavor is rich, complex, and incredibly addictive. Definitely distinctive and not to be missed. Entrée possibilities included the above-noted Java Pork Tenderloin, Chef's Choice Chicken Entrée, and the Simply Grilled Salmon (pictured). On any other occasion, I have no doubt, one or both of us would have gone right for the pork... But on this particular evening, for some reason, we were both in the mood for salmon, which turned out to be an absolutely fabulous choice. The fish was a beautifully prepared - just as our server suggested and we specified - medium rare. But not only was it simply grilled, but also simply presented with a house salad of mixed greens, goat cheese, toasted sesame seeds, cucumber, tomato, bell pepper, crispy wontons, and utterly seductive orange-ginger vinaigrette. And that lovely orange-ginger concoction proved to be not only a marvelous dressing for the salad but also a wonderful complement to the salmon, transforming a relatively straightforward dish into something sublime. Dessert choices were especially limited and pretty basic - either Warm Bread Pudding (pictured) or Flourless Chocolate Cake. I freely admit to being something of a chocoholic, but flourless chocolate cake - at least for my palate - is just too much of a good thing. Just too much of too much. I opted instead for the bread pudding... as did my dining partner, who is not a particular fan of chocolate. ... And, once again, this proved to be a most fortuitous choice, as the bread pudding succeeded in surpassing all expectations. Rich, creamy, and calorically out-of-sight, it added a decidedly decadent note to a perfectly delightful evening at table... And, as I mentioned above, the price was right.

I enjoyed the drinks, but couldn't really figure how they were paired with the meal. It felt more like the drinks and foods were just picked because they were on the menus, not that they meant to go together. Having said that, I did enjoy the drinks and I LOVED the food. The tasting menu portion sizes are about half the normal size, and I really wanted a full serving of the flower dumplings - perfect bites. I would have appreciated bread on the side of several of the dishes since there was so much sauce left. The wagyu beef was exceptional - by itself, with the puree, with the mustard, any combination. The hamachi was solid too. I don't eat sea bass often and the fish texture was not great, but... the fish with the sea foam was delicious, fish with the sweet sauce was delicious, fish with the mango salad was delicious... the plate overall was just great. I wanted more. Service was still slow, but it felt measured once our first drink and amuse bouche arrived.
