Cute retro American diner in Sumner! I got the Tillamook burger no combo along with a cookies and cream milkshake. The burger itself doesn't look the most appetizing but it was good overall! The milkshake was also delicious! Burger was $8 and shake was $5. I don't think I would get the burger by itself again but maybe as a combo meal because the quality for the price doesn't seem match but the shake I would get again! One quote that came to my head after I tried the food was 'looks can be deceiving'. On the outside it looked great, good vibes and clean. The menu was visible and outdoor seating also clean. When we walked up to the window, the staff was kind and ordering was easy. As we waited for our food, my bf (who manages a kitchen), noticed the kitchen staff was messy. Cook was eating fries with his hands that had no gloves on, eat from the container that was also used to served to the customers whilst he was cooking. The kitchen looked a little dirty as well. The food was amazing. I got the main street deluxe although the fries are a bit small. I should've gotten the curly fries, but my partner had it and they were both really good. I really wanna try the onion rings cause they looked so good. Went there on a Wednesday night, and we had some of the burgers, chili cheese, fries, and some shakes. The burgers were good, but I don't like how the buns are cold. But the burgers for some reason have changed. If I was rating them based on other fast food burgers in the area, I'd give them a B, but compared to how they use to be until about a year ago, they have dropped in quality. The old burgers used to be an A+ with well browned maillard and flavorful season. My first disappointed experience was about 10 months ago and I decided to chock it up to a one off issue. But I have tried several times over that span of time and am so disappointed to learn that they must have just changed the way they cook them. It's like they don't mash em down and give them enough time to get some decent sear. Like they are still okay, but would he do much better if they cooked for another minute on each side or if the grill was just hotter. This has really bummed me out as I used to specifically make trips to come here but I'm at the point where I just might not for a while. All in all, I think Dairy Freeze has good still, but I'm saddened to hear this specific aspect has slipped. Otherwise this would be an easy 4-5 star pick for me. It was so overdone I sent it back and then the second time it was so greasy I couldn't even pick it up let alone eat it. Ordered curly fries, which were undercooked almost raw and very, very greasy. I went to this place specifically for the huckleberry shakes! They were delicious but they are made with soft serve ice cream and huckleberry syrup. I was expecting it to be with huckleberry ice cream. Still highly recommend. They actually have a big variety shake flavors. Service was good, we didn't have to wait too long. We took our grandsons here for dinner and dessert. Hamburgers for us and kids meals for them. All the food was delicious with more than enough fries. We followed this with four "small" ice creams. My first thought when I saw the very generous servings was "OMG! Don't tell your parents!" We all managed to eat every last bite and the flavors were delicious. We ate in a comfy old fashioned booth. We've been to this place on Sunday a couple times. It's pretty good. Typical diner food. We got 3 kids meals and 2 adult burger combos with milkshakes. Total was about $55. Which is not bad. We ordered: Kids Cheese burgers: there was an enthusiastic grunting sound when I asked how they were. I think.thats good Kids grilled cheese: also a non commital "good" The kids ate their food without excessive complaining. I think the most popular thing for them was the classic car container that the kids meal came in. They all insisted in taking them home with them. Apple Pie Milkshake--smooth with grammar cracker crumbs in it. Very thick, quite good though. Chocolate Malt: also very thick and smooth, the malt flavor was readily apparent, but I think it was vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup instead of chocolate ice cream...which seems a little strange to me. Still drank it. Note: the milkshakes are not thick enough to dip your fries in, but is difficult to drink with a straw. Spicy jalapeño burger: not spicy...not really even sure if it had jalapeños in it. Wasn't bad for a "diner" burger. Black bean burger: patty was spiced well, but there was SOOOO much mayonnaise on it. I scraped off one bun and then found another glib on the underside. No one needs to eat that much mayonnaise on anything. Other notes: there were an EXCESSIVE number of flies in the dining room and I needed to ask for a washing for our table. I went here for the first time for a milkshake and it was the worst milkshake I've ever had ... sorry excuse for a milkshake!

The service people were very nice and friendly however the amount of time it took to prepare the food was a little long. When I got the bag is seemed half full and I didn't see everything I ordered. When I asked if everything was in the bag they handed it back to someone in the kitchen and they yelled that everything was there just that the burgers were on the bottom. When I got home, the onion rings were missing. When I called to inform them I didn't get the entire order, no one answered the phone the several times I called. The "special" burger wasn't any bigger than a McDonald's cheeseburger. Nothing "special" at all! And the price was $30 for 2 small burgers and fries. It's a great place for shakes or ice cream, but burgers and fries are not the best. Hopefully this small town burger place can improve their food products a bit to keep in business. read more

I ordered, food was brought to me. Ordered the Main Street deluxe combo. Had a little too much Mayo, meat patty was very very burnt, no fry sauce given like usual. So I used ketchup, the bottle lid came off and into my food a huge clump into my fries. Tried to get help with this but the person at the counter disappeared into the back, cook was busy cooking. Stood at counter for awhile, gave up tossed my food and left. Went to outside counter and counter person appeared told them what happened they shrugged it off said it happens all the time!
