We personally discovered this place about 6 months after moving into the area and have gone at least two weekends a month since. A nice place with room to move around, well-decorated, and warm. Staff has always been excellent, kind, and attentive. They squeeze fresh orange juice, a must. Food is fantastic. I have tried many of the items offered but my favorite is the Mexican skillet or Migas. Green chili is very tasty and can be spicy. If you have checked this spot out, put it on your list. Went in because of the picture of French toast in the listed pics but didn't even get French toast lol. Instead I got a BLT with avocado & Mac n cheese. I was very happy with it, it had plenty of bacon and avocado and the amount throughout my sandwich was consistent and didn't fall apart. The Mac n cheese wasn't great but it wasn't bad either, I ate most of it. My husband got a breakfast burrito and enjoyed that. My wife and I were in Brighton for only a couple days doing some work. We had a couple hours one morning with a later start so started looking at places for breakfast. We are huge breakfast fans and have so few options were we are from. This cafe did such a nice breakfast and it was very reasonably priced. The portions were very generous and the food itself was great. A simple, basic breakfast, but I ended up working most the day welding off that one meal without being hungry. My wife really liked the fresh squeezed orange juice and I enjoyed their coffee. The waitresses were all so cute and bubbly, very attentive, and hard working. We would definitely come here again! After finally being dismissed from jury duty (hooray!) I found myself hungry and in unfamiliar territory. After a bit of hunting I found Main Street Cafe and figured why not! PROs: ++ Portions are large! Which was a relief given my grumbling belly. ++ Prices are super reasonable! My breakfast burrito was a mere $6.49! Wow! ++ My burrito was full of eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage, cheese, and smothered in homemade green chile. Mmm... CONs: -- It was FREEZING in there! When all your diners' are wearing coats - there might be a problem. -- My server seemed a little overworked. During my visit there were 3 small groups (no more than 2 people per group) yet she wasn't very attentive to any of the tables. -- While the green chile was tasty - it wasn't anything to write home about. Real winner here were the pancakes! Best pancakes I've had in awhile and relatively inexpensive. So those would've gotten four stars. Breakfast burrito was pretty average. Good but nothing to write home about. It probably could've used more green chile to liven it up- they don't put on much. The French toast was good but the compotes aren't worth the extra. Its just some blueberries in a bland syrup. Fried jalapeños packed a punch!! We've been in Brighton for over 2 years now and this place has always drawn our attention due to the almost constant crowd standing outside on the weekend waiting for a table Soon this lazy day of heading to the mountains to check out the fall colors,I decided to take the family and check out what was the reason for the wait. We got there just before 9, and even then the restaurant was packed and we had about a 15 minute wait for a party of 3. So there are several tables but I dont know how much luck you'll have if you have a party of more than 4 ppl. This is a cafe that has limited hours and closes at 2. The menu offered a wide variety to choose from and when our selections arrived we were pleased at the presentation and portion size of our meals. I opted for the chicken fried steak breakfast which came with your choice of potatoes(hashbrowns or homestyle) and choice of pancakes or toast. You can also substitute or upgrade to a cinnamon roll for .99. My Wife had the huevos rancheros which she enjoyed all but the rice. My Son had the smothered breakfast burrito which you do get your choice of meats and was huge which he could not finish due to its giant size. So it comes down to this the country fried steak was ok but not the best I really did enjoy the pancakes maybe some of the best I've ever had id I was to be perfectly honest. We got out of there with drinks for just over $30 which these days you spend that at a fast food drive thru, and we really enjoyed our meals and the quaint furnishings of a small town restaurant and yes I would recommend it but if you dont want to wait make sure your there early!!! read more

Wow. First things first, this place is going to make you full when you leave. The portions are massive, but the taste does not suffer for the size. Each thing we had at the table was fantastic. The hot chocolate was fantastic, even in the middle of July. The breakfast burritos and skillets are absolutely fantastic and tasty. They are so so big! The chorizo is tasty and we had it in both. Ok...waited long enough, the cinnamon rolls here will make you happy for the rest of the day. They are so soft and tasty. It's been a long time since I genuinely gave a bad review. Like a "don't eat here" review. Don't eat here. The food was really awful. I got eggs Benedict, it was absolutely smothered in a gross hollandaise that was terrible. I could not eat the potatoes as they tasted like the oil hadn't been changed in a while. We waited almost an hour for our food (53 minutes to be exact). Hostess was rude, walked us to our table, put down menus and never said a word. I watched and she did that with everyone. Didn't acknowledge anyone leaving or even look up. She would stand at the host station and yell out names and when the people weren't directly in front of her (some people were waiting outside) she would just scream louder instead of poking her head outside. After waiting 40 min for our food I asked our waitress to check on it and she just said they were busy. I get that. It's a Sunday morning at a brunch place. But that's when you'd expect to be busy and should staff appropriately. Then to get terrible food. I was so starving that I ate some but only about 20% of my plate. Bacon is like a buffet's bacon with no flavor and super greasy. My daughter had crepes and they were not good either. The coffee was good though. We won't be returning here. read more

They have Farmer Brothers coffee here that is amazing with a little French vanilla it's extra smooth and perfectly hot! Weekends they almost constantly have a wait and sometimes you might be standing outside!!! BRING APPROPRIATE OUTDOOR CLOTHING JUST IN CASE! The inside is quaint with booths on the outside walls and tables running down the middle. At the back left a small bar and check stand to pay your bill. They have pictures on the wall of local farming operations and you really get the hometown feel. The bathrooms are in the back, decent In size, well lit and clean. Now for the part you've been waiting for the FOOD!! GET IN MA BELLY!!! -moving on- The menu is 4 pages of home town American comfort food, some blended Mexican dishes, and everything from massive home made cinnamon rolls that fly out of the kitchen wafting there delicious smelling steam in all directions as the fast moving and very skilled wait staff delivers them to eager tables (recanting this memory prompted a trip back for fresh roll ) We like the massive pancakes! They are a good balance of fluffy and yet solid enough they don't fall apart. The skillets are a great place for a newbie to start if you want to get a taste of they food and have plenty to take home! My favorite is the steak and eggs breakfast! The steak is thin but I'm a sucker for a perfectly cooked steak and when I said as rare as possible these guys knew just what to do! Oh man it's so good. I especially enjoyed the tacos served on big flour tortillas with super-crispy fish cut into bite sized pieces, shredded cabbage, and yummy fresh pico de gallo. Prompt service.
