Dropped in for breakfast a few weeks back and had the smothered breakfast burrito.... You probably won't need to eat lunch after this hefty meal. My father chatted about the rave reviews he's heard from locals about this restaurant. It looked promising. The decor is cute and folksy. The country music plays at an appropriate volume. There's quite a few people. The server is friendly though doesn't bring me a highchair (something I'm not used to requesting as most servers automatically say they'll bring it for me. Though it's not her fault that I didn't ask and grabbed it myself). The first two items my elderly, vegetarian parents inquired about are checked in the back and discovered has meat in it (green chili and the beans. Though the server emphatically claimed the beans did not have meat before checking). My waffle came out fine though it's difficult to make a bad waffle. The veggie skillet my dad ordered came out fine. The French toast my mom had to order, because those two inquired items had meat, were extremely burnt on the underside. Obviously plated with the burnt side hidden. It absolutely tasted burnt but mom didn't send it back because she too polite. The same reason she didn't return her watered down, disgusting coffee. Finally, the scrambled egg I ordered for my infant came out undercooked (undercooked eggs being a salmonella risk for children under 5). I only had the waffle and I tried small bites from my niece and nephew's dishes. My waffle was pretty good. Standard waffle fare. Nothing extra exciting but good. My niece had biscuits and gravy with country potatoes. She enjoyed them. I found heavy flour taste but couldn't tell if it was the gravy or biscuits. But she ate them all. Potatoes were good but she was super full. I tried the green chili only on my nephews plate. It was very flavorful. He ate almost everything and there was a lot of food there. My other nephew completely devoured his bfast burrito saying it was delicious. If we're ever in town again we will definitely stop by. read more

That food is excellent but the hosting is just unprofessional. You cant go to the restroom cause apparently when you come back to your table they had already cleaned it and had people sitting there. I took my daughter (2yr old) to the restroom not even 2 mins later came back they had cleaned our table with our breakfast and drinks still there. I ordered the sausage & mushroom omelette with cottage cheese & paid the extra $.99 to upgrade to a cinnamon roll....yum! Of course it was way too much food so I took most of the cinnamon roll to go along with 1/2 of my omelette. BF got steak & eggs with country potatoes, sunny side up eggs(his fav) and a rib eye steak. I cannot think of a single negative about this place. Every time we come here we have great food at a great price. The service is always attentive and welcoming. This is the type of place that makes you feel like you are appreciated as a customer. The portions are huge for the prices that they charge. The food is fresh and is always good. Parking is plentiful whether on the street in front or in their giant lot directly to the side of the building. The only one complaint that I might be able to think of is that they are only open until 2 PM, although it is a breakfast/brunch/lunch place. Lol. This is a mediocre diner at best. The high Yelp rating doesn't make sense. I had a chicken mushroom sandwich. The chicken was over cooked and rubbery. The scrabbled eggs look like they come out of a box. There was nothing good out of all the meals we ordered. There is really no reason to go here unless your car breaks down in Brighton and no one else is open. read more

I had Milwaukee omelet which sounded tasty with ham,bacon and sausage and three cheeses...I LOVE cheese! Substituted cottage cheese for the potatoes... waitress asked "how's your food?" I told her the cottage cheese was very warm and the omelet was almost void of cheese, I showed her the inside of the omelet and all she said was, "there's cheese in there " she didn't offer to improve the dish, she just left quickly. I am completely ok with that perspective and I agree with the need to not discount for the time being, but it was an offer that was sent to us by them, on our phones and it said it expires on July 23. We ordered breakfast yesterday and I found two pieces of metal in my Farmer Skillet meal. The metal looked like thick pieces of a steel kitchen scrubber. I called the manager who was very nice. I was told the next time I come in they would make me anything in the menu. I decided to try the exact same meal again. This time all is good.
