    Honolulu Pizza (small)

Place has a local tavern feel to it. Came here unexpectedly after finding out the Caribbean place next door was closed. For a Friday evening we were lucky able to snag the last unreserved table. Overlooking the menu I really didn't have much of an interest in pub food and decided to go with a small Honolulu Pizza. The pesto sauce and majority of the toppings is what caught my interest so gave it a shot. My grandfather enjoyed his salad. He ordered the fish and chips and was disappointed that it was more of a seafood platter with french fries, onion rings, fried shrimp and two ball looking pieces of fish. I had some of his fries and they were good. I was disappointed that I didn't get a larger pizza. It was quite delicious and exceeded my expectations. The jerk peppers were phenomenal for never having them before. Crust was foldable and had a crisp bite to it too. Would order this again! Red Head was the live music performing tonight. They kicked off at 6:30, they also blew out my facing ear twice getting tuned up. They draw an older crowd which means to me quality music. Didn't get to listen to much but enjoyed what I heard. Would agree with another yelper that for a small space it was quite loud. If there was windows that opened up that would help, probably catch a few people outside and draw them in. Overall walking out of here with enjoyment. Would have liked to see the staff smile a bit more, maybe next time.

I ordered a basic fish and chips dinner. It arrived basically inedible. The fish was so overcooked, that the fish disintegrated inside the batter, and what was still there was hard. The fries were super soggy. The best part of the whole dinner was the soup. Such a waste of money on a simple to make meal.

    Spicy Buffalo Wings

Hubby and I came on a Wednesday or Thursday night when they had $.50 wings. We got 20 assorted flavors and then ordered a calzone to split. Idk if it was a bad night for them, but nothing was really good. There's a "CAROLINA REAPER" flavor for the wings.. I was expecting it to burn my face off considering it was in all upper case letters on the menu, but it was a huge let down. Not in the least bit spicy, their regular spicy buffalo is hotter. The Jamaican Jerk... lol tastes like they just fried the wings and tossed it in some kind of McCormick seasoning and called it jerk, it was also too salty. Our favorite part of the whole meal that night was the blue cheese and carrot sticks.. what does that tell you? Anyways, we were invited out last Friday night, and our friends picked Main Street Grille, honestly after the experience we had on $.50 wing day, we weren't too interested, but met up with them anyways. Idk if it was b/c of the company or the atmosphere or the great live band that was playing, but everything that night was killer! I ordered the Chicken Alfredo, it's lighter than I usually expect for Alfredo sauce, but still had good flavor and the grilled chicken was cooked perfectly. My meal also came with a choice of soup or salad, I picked the French onion soup and it's probably one of my favorite places to get it now lol. Hubby ordered spicy buffalo wings w/ blue cheese and a side of Baked Mac N Cheese. He also enjoyed everything. Their side of baked Mac n cheese is huge! I'm honestly baffled at the two different experiences, and they were only a week apart.. I'm sure we will be back, hopefully it's another great experience! I love the live music on Friday nights and the karaoke night on Saturday.

I think it is relatively new (change from another restaurant in the same location)? Plenty of parking, both in front & in the back of the building. There is an outside patio that will be nice to use when the weather is a little warmer. Inside, the space is good sized, with both booths & tables. Our server was very nice, friendly and welcoming. Food was very good. Stronger coffee (which I prefer). My husband & I both had omelettes. The omelettes are made with 3 eggs & come with toast & potatoes. We always ask to have the potatoes cooked a little crispier and they were good. Prices were good. I noticed that there are gluten free items on the menu too. We will be back.

Indoor (two sides, one w bar) and outdoor seating (in nice weather). So, I tried the cheeseburger with a side of fries. Advertised as 8 ozs. It was very good, not great. Definitely a patty, and also did not have that charbroiled taste. Bun was substantial, and held the cb well. Fries were very good. For me, the price point was slightly high, more in line with what a pub might charge. Lots of choices on the menu, and some interesting breakfast options. I also liked the happy hour listings. Service very good. So, overall, I am a fan. 4 stars

"It's the time of the season When love runs high…read moreIt's the time of the season for loving" (The Zombies) The Three Season's Cafe is located within the Topstone Golf Course. They have a clubhouse dining room with a bar and a full "Pub Style" menu of chili, soup, salads, a slew of comfort food appetizers (tots, pretzels, wings, nachos), burgers, dogs, sandwiches, wraps, and seafood. They have a banquet room downstairs for golf tournaments or private parties. You'll see their big building from the golf course's main parking lot. You walk to the main entry staircase facing the lot, but don't enter through that door facing you. Instead, walk around the porch to the left, turn the corner, and you'll see the restaurant entrance straight ahead. We've enjoyed a lot of take-out from Three Season's - salmon teriyaki, chicken parmigiana, chicken Milanese, penne in vodka sauce, penne marinara, garlic cheese tortellini, and a hamburger and hot dog. The salmon was outstanding, and so were the chicken dishes. And I really liked their marinara sauce with the parmigiana and the penne. Our wait person was wonderful and very attentive at the beginning. I ordered a corned beef (Reuben) sandwich and fries, both delicious. My husband had the McWrap, a burger with all the fixings inside a soft flour tortilla wrap, plus tater tots. He said that the sandwich was great, the tater tots were just the slightest bit overcooked, but they still tasted good. We had finished our meals and drinks, but we had to wait for what seemed forever to get our bill to pay. My husband had to go inside the cafe to find our wait person. She said she'd be right out with our bill, but we kept waiting (yet again) more than 10 more minutes. The restaurant and bar (inside) was not very busy, nor was it busy on the patio. Our server appeared to also be the bartender. Perhaps, she was also the chef? Maybe those were the reasons for the delay in getting our bill? Seriously, I realize things happen. We liked the food a lot, so we'll be back!

Where do I start?! One thing I love about J Rego's is the quality of their menu; meals are always unique and truly make J Rego's stand FAR apart from other food spots in this part of CT. Yes, they offer the very best of your favorite restaurant classics, but they also add high-end, high-quality options that you cannot find anywhere else in the area. They do weekly specials (check their Instagram or call!) that always blow my mind. I literally stalk their social media each week waiting for their new options! Having J Rego's so close to home is a hazard for my self control!! And the Espresso Martinis?! Don't get me started! Delicious, high-class, and absolutely addicting. One VERY notable details about J Rego's: -- They have a FANTASTIC outdoor dining area. We enjoy it frequently in the summer, and they also set up a tent & space heaters for the colder months. Check their IG for live music on the weekends! Today, I sent my parents to J Rego's for a lunch date. They were BLOWN AWAY! It was definitely a home run recommendation. J Rego's -- thank you for being here and doing what you do! You make our community a better place & we love you for it.

Tried again, great service but okay food…read more Decided to try them again. They had a brunch menu so I was intrigued to try some French toast. Was very quiet when I went there. Was seated at the bar, where the bartender was prepping for the days service. Asked for his recommendation and he said the burger was really good. Asked for a brunch menu and was told the brunch menu was their lunch menu. Later in the meal, the waitress informed the bartender that the brunch menu was delayed again because the person who developed it was out. So I was too early to get actual brunch. I got an orange juice and a burger with sautéed onions, mushrooms, and pepper jack cheese. Food came out in a reasonable timeframe. Took pics and dug in. As a burger, it was okay but wasn't executed correctly. The burger was a chunky grind of beef chuck, which was unseasoned. The bun was toasted but was just starting to go stale. So the edges were spongy and a tougher chew. The fries were lackluster. Standard bagged fries, limp and not very crispy. Their orange juice is also weirdly out of a can. The price of the burger with add ons and an orange juice was 24 dollars . I'm fine with this price so long as the quality can justify it. But it's missing the execution to justify the price. Everything needs to be dressed or seasoned even if it's just lightly. A tiny bit of salt to a tomato can make the difference between a watery slippery mess to a fruity, savory compliment to the meaty burger. I would also be remiss to ask if they could vary the grind of their meat to a mix of chuck, short rib, and brisket? Or add flavorings to their meat mix to help get more than just straight up ground beef. The bartender was very good about checking in and helping where he could. He saved the experience, but there was little he could do to fix the meal. It's probably a great place to drink, and if you're drunk you won't care about the food as much. So I'll say it's a great bar but not so great food. Go to drink, not to eat

Apparently iced tea is a no no to order in the fall or winter in small town Connecticut. I chose their 14oz prime ribeye for what seemed to be a good price of only $40. It comes with the mixed veggies (Broccoli. Carrots. Squash) and potato of the day (homemade mashed potatoes). The steak was a bit chewy and did not seem to be a typical prime cut of beef I am used to getting back in Texas. Maybe prime beef in Connecticut isn't as good quality, who knows. The homemade bread that comes out before the dinner is good but hard. It's also very garlicky. Service was a bit awkward. Our waitress came by halfway through and said she was checking to make sure we were well taken care of...but my tea was almost empty and she just walked off and didn't say she'd refill it. I eventually had to flag her down a few mins later to ask for a refill. At fancy restaurants, they just fill it without you asking. She also messed up my colleagues meal. He asked for no squash and the chef seemed to put extra squash on his plate. She should have remembered that he didn't want squash. Overall, it was a decent experience, but I just expected more from a fancy restaurant. You pay a little more for better food and better service, but we didn't get that here.
