If your a Mini owner and live in the Oxnard/Ventura area, then you know it's really nice to have these guys around. You'd be suprised how many places don't work on Mini's or have a hard time getting parts for this make. But anything you need, Main Street Mini can do it and in no time. Located in the buisness district of Ventura. It's located in the rear of a buisness center lot but you will see their large sign up front so just keep an eye out for that. Really nice guys who work in here, every time I have been helped here they are incredibly kind and knowledge. I've brought my Mini for a variety of services now. From oil changes, brake service, to repairs. Every single time they delivered and did such a great job. I really do trust them every time I leave my Mini with them. Prices are competitive compared to most places, but to be honest the job will get done right and it's around the ball park of most places and I'm all good with that. These guys are experts in Mini's, why wouldn't you want the expert taking care of you. One thing that I like is you that they now have the option where once they notify you that your mini is ready, you get the option by text to pay. The option to pay online/Apple Pay was so awesome. These guys are top shelf, and love Minis! I've had my 2003 base model serviced there and everything was done perfectly. Recently I blew head gasket and the crappy midland 5 speed was going at the same time. I needed to keep the price down if I wanted to keep this beauty on the road, and Main Street doesn't install any used parts, but they referred me to Mini World down in Sun Valley for a used 6-speed Getrag tranny and a used motor. Took my 2016 Mini here to get engine service light removed so that I could get it smog tested. They said it was a Mini warranty issue and that Mini would do it for free. I took to Mini (Bob Smith) and they did not have the part and didn't know when they could get it (from BMW in Germany). My Mini registration was close to being due and didn't want to go through process and expense of getting DMV Smog referee to give an extension. I went back to Main Street Minis and mentioned about the part not being available. Chuck was able to track down a new Mini part that was fairly local. He gave me the info and I took to Mini and after a little effort, they received authorization to purchase this part and do the repair. So many thanks to Chuck. I had to bring my wife's 2013 Mini in for the first serious service at Main Street Minis. We have been going there for years now and this is the first time we needed more than an oil change or brakes done. That little half engine icon came on and panic hit. I called Charles and he got me in the same day. He diagnosed it, quoted me, did the service and got me out the same day. I was very impressed with the overall experience there. I was told by two different mechanics that I needed a new transmission. Turned out I did not need one, just a new engine valve. Chuck at Main Street Minis is amazing. He is beyond knowledgable, thoughtful, and kind. I took my 2012 Mini in for an oil leak, and unfortunately it needed a new oil filter housing. Chuck talked me through the entire process, expertly guiding me to the repairs that they could make at a low cost while working on the leak. As a physician, I want to understand the why in addition to the what. Chuck texted me photos of the repair and gave me periodic updates on progress with personalized service that is better than any I have ever received from any other mechanic. After the work was done, he showed me the old parts to better explain what he did. And he had cleaned everything under the hood so it looked better than it had in years. And he threw in some small parts and labor at no cost that would have cost me hundreds at the Mini dealer. I definitely will be taking my Mini back to Main Street Minis from here on out. Highly Recommend this shop, Chuck was very accommodating. I brought my wife's car in for an oil change and inspection as I bought it recently, used. Chuck was clearly very knowledgeable and even sent me pictures of problems that he found. Final price was exactly what I was quoted, no surprises. When you first walk in, you're amazed at how clean and friendly the place is. Then you think they're kidding when they offer you a drink... there are bottles of whiskey beer, champagne all for you... At first you might think it's because you're going to need a stiff drink when they tell you the price, but I found the exact opposite. My "Bull Shlt Meter" NEVER went off as Chuck the owner came off as Honest, NON-manipulative, had good ideas thinking about what I wanted (specific parts, extra photos of other things he important details he sees regarding the repair), good priced cost of repairs and receptive to my general requests (always saying "YES"), and he knew I was a little picky on what I wanted leading up to my Mercedes CLS55 front brake replacement. I requested specific OEM part numbers that he use and he simply said, yes, no increase or change in Quote! I love that way of doing business. Background: I called many shops getting quotes & a FEEL for the Owner's honesty to do the right thing... including Silver Star Mercedes in Westlake, 3-4 different Private shops from Ventura to the San Fernando Valley. They were either 1) Stupid Expensive or 2) I felt manipulated by another Shop Owner, or 3) Brake Masters Simi seemed to NOT want my business by NOT returning my calls 2X - 3X, blowing me off while maintaining an underlying ANGRY attitude every time on the phone as I had basic questions (ALWAYS the case with that company), 4) another 2 Shops in SFV either mis-quoted because they either didn't care or that's normal attention to detail for them how they'll do business and when I focused them on the necessary work the kept labor cost the same !! (should have been half the cost). Got tired of Loser Shops. Main Street Minis identified the root cause of the Brake Pads uneven & early wearing out of one side - a Pad pressure plate got somehow misaligned. He SMS'd me photos before the brake job of this defect and after his repositioning in proper position. Thanks Chuck. read more

I have a 2009 Mini Cooper s.. Came in today to get a free break inspection and my breaks flushed.. Chuck is the gentlemen that was helping me on Facebook and in person.. Customer service is great!! As soon as I pulled in chuck waved me in to help me right away.. I had other questions about the mini and answered them all even though it wasn't about the service he was going to do.. Super helpful! Had my mini serviced at main street mini, the timing belt broke and we asked for a tune-up recipe that clearly shows a spark plug change at 75.00. After about 6 months the car started to shutter and the check engine light came on. I bought an OBD tool and I got P0420 bank 1 code and misfire codes. I replaced the catalytic converter in under 7 hrs (saved myself 2500.00 and didn't have to remove the front end) and both o2 sensors with no luck. I then checked the spark plugs and I found 3 were WAY over-gapped .042 to 0.45. Mini cooper spark plugs must be .032 and an over gap is INTENSIONAL as you have to use a tool to open the factory pre-gaped plug. This caused extensive damage to the car. After new plugs and injection coils, the car runs SMOOTH!! I will never bring my Minin to this garage again after finding this very obvious saboteur. Whether it be on purpose or pure incompetence there is NO excuse for this NONE!!! I feel he took advantage of my wife as it is her car, typical but they didn't count on me being a mechanic too, I was out of town when the belt broke and this was AFTER they had it for a noise in the area of the TIMING BELT and all they found was a coolant leak issue. Each time they had the car it came back more broken than when we took it in and issues didn't show up till a few months later. The excuse for the missed timing belt issue was they only go by what the computer says......LAZY. Cannot smog the car because of the misfire codes caused by poorly gapped plugs. Beware, get a second opinion if you can. read more

I called my local dealer and did not get a set price or a straight answer. The vague answer seemed extremely high for a new battery. After calling Main Street Minis, Charles was very knowledgeable and helpful. He gave me an exact price that was reasonable. He knew exactly what he was talking about and he was not evasive or vague. I maid an appointment for the next day to have my battery replaced and what the dealer made seem complicated he was able to fix in less than an hour.
