I will say their food regiment is top notch, I gained 20lbs from being allowed to eat all sorts of good food. My only gripe is that these guys embody the phrase "land of the free, home of the brave". Your free to go here, but good luck not being milked into a prolonged stay. COVID restrictions make family rescuing you very difficult. The human rights officer thankfully was my only saving grace and ironically was the only legally obligatory role at a mental institution (their words, not mine). The whole experience felt like it was crafted to feed into psychosis, at one point 2 "employees" walked together and one came toward the patient area after mentioning a drug's name (basically curated to make patients think they were in a controlled setting) -- the admission for her being 99% not ordinary compared to other patients. The other patients there for adults seemed rather nice despite varying levels of social disorders/disconnect. During my stay I literally felt that I was growing as a person despite the mentally taxing circumstances. The oddest thing was my mental circumstances being such that I could do things that under normal circumstances I physically would never be able to do. If you go in with psychosis, you will definitely go to the extreme of thinking that you are special and then be brought back to earth to behave like a normal person solely to be discharged. If you go in thinking that paranormal activity is a hoax, you will definitely leave believing that paranormal things have happened to you. Overall I actually wish I could go back to confirm things. Their staff (mental health technicians) are all very good in different ways, thus the good rating. Their drawback is the questionable methods used to keep people there for prolonged times (I was literally coerced into taking a new drug as a condition of discharge --the drug proceeded to make me unable to function normally and I had to emotionally breakdown into tears to make myself able to sit down and fill out discharge paperwork, the drug then proceeded to give me blurred vision when I failed to remember to go to the Pharmacy to get meds that would have fought the side effects... I was subsequently brought to another mental health establishment because I was too restless to sleep).

I am writing this to warn other parents, particularly those with children on the Autism Spectrum or…read morewith complex medical needs. I read the reviews for Westborough Behavioral Healthcare (WBHH) before my 9-year-old son was admitted, but I made the mistake of taking them with a grain of salt. Please do not ignore the warnings. My son was admitted to the Special Needs Unit (SNU), a program that claims to be specialized for neurodevelopmental disorders. Our experience was a clinical nightmare: Clinical Dishonesty & Lying: The attending psychiatrist explicitly lied to me, claiming he had consulted with my son's outside prescriber and that she agreed with a high-risk medication change. When I contacted her myself, I discovered she had NEVER agreed and actually had major clinical objections. Furthermore, I was given conflicting information by nursing staff who initially denied meds were given, only for the doctor to later admit the error in writing. Illegal Medication Administration: After I explicitly withdrew consent for a high-risk psychotropic medication (Geodon) based on the outpatient provider's actual advice, the hospital administered it anyway. The attending physician confirmed this error in writing. My son subsequently developed slurred speech and neurological distress. Severed Communication & Denied Access: The facility consistently failed to facilitate contact with my son. I was repeatedly denied 'Goodnight calls' with my 9-year-old, which is a fundamental right. Furthermore, promised callbacks from the clinical team during crises never happened, and the unit phone lines were frequently diverted to full, non-functional voicemail boxes, leaving me with no way to check on my son's safety after a medical error. Medical Neglect: My son has a documented neurogenic bladder protocol from Boston Children's Hospital. Despite having the records, staff repeatedly failed to implement his toileting plan, citing 'communication breakdowns between shifts.' Lack of Services: While the facility's website advertises speech therapy, the unit staff admitted they do not actually have it. For a child with an IEP and communication struggles, this is a critical failure of care. Deprivation of Safety Tools: They withheld my son's prescribed sensory tools (weighted vest/chewy tools) as 'punishment' for behaviors, which is a violation of trauma-informed care and ASD clinical standards. Unsafe Discharge Tactics: When the facility reached its 'clinical ceiling' and admitted they could not maintain safety without a 1:1 sitter, they attempted to force a discharge home while he was still medically unstable rather than facilitating a lateral transfer to a higher level of care. If your child has ASD, PTSD, or any medical complexity, this is not a safe environment. I have filed formal complaints with the MA Department of Mental Health (DMH) and the Department of Public Health (DPH). Parents: Advocate for a transfer to a tertiary medical-psychiatric unit (like Boston Children's or Bradley/Hasbro) instead of accepting a placement here. Do not let them make your child's safety their liability experiment.

With its insurance based, ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis), and Board Certified Behavior Analyst guided programming, the rapid progress it's clients make, is nothing short of miraculous. I should know, my own child is a client there. In the six months that my son has been a client of ABC, I have seen an incredible change in his behavior, his speech, and his social skills. I feel like his 1:1 or behavioral technician, was handpicked or selected especially for him. She's friendly, patient, and knows my son better than anyone else. The same goes for the other technicians at ABC. They are kind, friendly, and well-trained. But the best part of all, is their Saturday social groups. Their age appropriate 8:30-4:30 programming, covers everything from morning meeting, arts n' crafts, outings, play based therapies, and social skills training. My son loves going to ABC every Saturday to "see friends" and to have an exciting and fun filled day. Thank you George Torbay (owner). Thank you for changing our lives. We couldn't have done it without you and your incredible staff. - Jill Ricardo (parent)

But Vendetti charged for a cancellation, even after I emailed the doctor indicating my son had to be taken to an ER for mental health issues, and for my younger son, they have charged for afterhours appointment, which they never mentioned that they will charge extra. I came to Vendetti in April, 2024, having followed my therapist from another practice. The hourly rate was $150. On January 2, 2025, the rate increased to $195. I was provided no notice and no explanation. With the next and subsequent visits, 3 additional fees were added ($70, $55, $95) with no notice and no explanation. In the span of 3 weeks, the session fee plus the addition of these other unknown fees resulted in a total of $415, which is an increase of $265, or 64%. I have been trying since February (when I became aware of the increase) to get an explanation. I spoke and left 3 messages with the billing clerk, for the Director of Billing to call back, as she was not available. The Director did not return those calls. After my therapist's intervention with her boss and the owner of the practice, the Director finally called back on June 13 (5 months later). I unfortunately was not in a position to speak at that time. Since then, I have repeatedly called the Director (2 times a week from June 24 to August 15, totaling 17 calls) and left many messages for a return call, which I never got (see update below). If not for my therapist, I would leave and seek counseling elsewhere. Vendetti management and the owner (who is well aware of the situation and has made no effort to contact me herself) have made quite clear how disinterested they are in their patients. Do yourself a favor. Get your mental health care elsewhere. Don't burden yourself with having to deal with other issues like billing and being ignored on top of everything else you're dealing with. It is evident the people at the top could not care less. And one other question I would offer is why these people are unwilling to supply an explanation for the hefty increase in fees and lack of notification. Update: On Friday, September 19, I received a call from someone in the billing department. She said the owner of Vendetti asked her to call me (why didn't the owner call me herself??) to tell me the Director of Billing would be calling on Monday, September 22. She did call but I missed it. I called her on Tuesday, September 23 and spoke with the same person who had called me on Friday. She said the Director was on another call but would call me back asap. Needless to say, the Director did not call back.

BEWARE DONT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL…read more So what does this hospital do I'll tell you cause I was there! When I first arrived at this hospital I was introduced to Dr.D I don't know his name cause it's to hard to pronounce. I went in and he did his evaluation on me then after that he asked me some question and I answered it and he just assumed I was lying he gave me a look with hi eyes wide open and said are you lying to me? I then said no why would I? Then I was put into a room with 2 other people another guy and girl, the girl went up right away and then I went into another room and did intake then sent back to the same room, the guy was then taking upstairs and I was in the room by myself I was questioned about some things and asked again are you lying? I then proceeded to start crying because first I was scared, nervous. I then was taken upstairs I was approached or spoken to not face to face but by intercom, wtf ! So then they the dr and nurse started questioning everything and I mean everything and then proceeded to be asked are you LYING? Wtf, for the duration of the time I was tormented being told I don't know how to shower, I don't know how to wipe my ass don't know how to brush my teeth but not face to face over the camera that was in not only the room but also in the bathroom but, it's probably taken out by now. Then every night I was then tormented by these people coming in the hall asking if there is some and so a patient here? Every night I went through this as well as when I got my night meds something was not right cause i never had any type of nightmares but I was there and started having nightmares. Then not only were they asking if I was there but they went by my maiden name as well as my first married name. I was being scared every day every night I was told to do things and I'm asking why am I doing this but they kept returning "WE ARE TRYING TO HELP YOU" by scaring me by telling me idont know how to wipe my ass don't know how to do anything. Then I had diarhea I was then told are you kidding me she did this in my bathroom, then also every night I mean every night this bitch would scream "I WANT HER OUT OF MY HOSPITAL" he the dr says i cant do that not only was my life at that time was a living hell when I was a patient, I will never never forget my stay there so if I were you looking into a hospital for yourself or a loved don't go to this hospital!!!!
