It is not large, but perfect for a sandwich and a beer on a day in Placerville. Access off of Hwy-50 is simple and parking is plentiful. But enough of that. The star of this place are the sandwiches. I was here with my family and we all ordered something different. Even my vegetarian daughter was pleasantly surprised by the Caprise sandwich. Hubby and I were looking for a great lunch spot and spotted this small local business on Main Street. To drink we both ordered a Barsotti Freshly Pressed Apple Cider. I'm in love with this delicious premium cider and there's a reason why it's so addicting! It's made local in Northern CA with 3 different apple varieties of 100% juice and no added sugars or preservatives! For lunch we split the Big Bird, Grilled Massive Double Meat. The Boar's Head chicken is nice and tender and not to mention flavorful! The sourdough roll as well, with a nice avocado, cheese-pull worthy havarti and nice spice to the chipotle as well! For our side we both ordered the Bacon Mac N Cheese. Ok now this is delicious! A nice and creamy mac n cheese, with crispy flavorful Boar's Head bacon! I would highly recommend this large shareable side! I would highly recommend this 5 star worthy sandwich shop, we sat outside on a nice day and there was plenty of seating available! It was my first time visiting Placerville and on our last day, someone in our friend group decided to stop here for a quick bite to eat before hitting the road back to San Diego. Upon entering the establishment, we were greeted with a small, cozy little room offering a unique and wide selection of sandwiches and salads, with even a pizza option being included. As we took our time gazing at the menu, it was brought to our attention that the shop was having complications with their internet (I believe this was affecting a surrounding area and not the store specifically) and that they would only be accepting cash orders for the time being. With only a few of us actually having cash, me and 1 other person decided we would just grab something quick on the way back home. As we sat with our friends in the front patio (very spacious!) waiting for their food, a kind lady came out and offered me and my friend 2 orders of Mac n Cheese on the house!! She claimed that "Everyone's gotta eat" and happily provided for us! While we weren't at all upset about not being able to order, this completely shifted the energy in our group and left us all with a smile on our face! All the food came promptly was delicious! 0 complaints from any of us. If I ever find myself passing through Placerville again, I will definitely be stopping here again (with cash!) One of the best sandwiches I have had in Old Hangtown (Placerville)! I had the Angry Irishman. It was delicious. It's a grilled sandwich with Corned Beef, Pastrami, Cream Cheese, Havarti, Caramelized Onions, Jalapeños, and Hot Pepper Spread all on beautifully grilled Sourdough. Service was friendly. I had a 1 hour lunch, after waiting 50 minutes, i went inside and said " I have to go back to work" one of the 4 people looked up and brought me and my co worker our, already made, wrapped sandwiches. The lady said... we are down a person and sorry. What I wanted was a BLT with turkey and avacado in a wrap. The lady told me to make it easy for myself and the staff and order this special sandwich. I said ok... What i got was a hot, flat burrito with bacon, turkey and hot avacado. It was gross, I do not like hot avacado. I wanted a BLT with turkey and avacado, it should have been cold. I couldn't bring it back because I was late to return to work for my lunch break. I'm disappointed. This might be a good after work or weekend spot. Not a spot where you have a time limit. Can't say much about the food but when we came in the lady was sitting down behind the counter and impatiently said that they have a 25-30 minute wait at around 10:30 on a weekday, and the restaurant wasn't busy either. Sandwiches didn't look great and inside/kitchen was pretty grody. read more

According to the El Dorado County website they are following the State of California guidelines for mandating facemasks for all indoor settings. https://www.edcgov.us/Government/hhsa/Pages/EDCCOVID-19-About.aspx The employees who work in the back making your sandwiches are NOT wearing face masks. The lady in the front taking orders with her mask pulled down cradling her chin (see photo I took below). I had no idea. I placed my order online for pick up since I was in the area. I was shocked when I went in to pick up my order. All 3 employees making sandwiches without masks and the lady made our smoothies with mask pulled down. All essential businesses especially food establishments should be wearing masks. Food was no go. On my way out of town to go camping for the weekend, I stopped at Main Street Melters in old downtown Placerville for a quick lunch. The place was surprisingly packed but our sandwiches came out fast. They offer both indoor and patio seating, and despite being a hot day, the shade on the patio felt nice. They have a nice variety of sandwiches to pick from - grilled, build your own, the classics, etc. I was craving something different so I opted for the Little Philly - a Philly cheesesteak sandwich but simply a smaller portion than their "massive melts". The bread had the perfect firmness to hold up to all that meat and all that filling. The meat was tender and juicy - not fatty or chewy (which is always my biggest fear when ordering a Philly cheesesteak). The whole sandwich was pressed together, giving it a toasty crunch and I really enjoyed it. A decent sandwich shop if you find yourself in the Placerville area. Located on Main and Clay directly across from the Ivy House parking lot. They have a gorgeous front deck with shade that covers most of the seating which is largely bar tops. You order at the counter and take a number for food delivery. They had about a dozen beers on tap from a good variety of brewers to wet your whistle and a tasty variety of sandwiches to fill you up. I ordered the Angry Irishman and it was very tasty! I think it had a tad too much cream cheese and a little more butter on the toasted bread would have made it exceptional.
