The only awkward distraction during the ceremony was somebody taking shooting practice out in the distance which echoed in the air. The facility is a beautiful old three-story building. There's a little waterfall running along side it, and some cute Pennsylvania charm. The ground level has a beer wall which includes multiple taps and you sign out a little fob that allows you to keep track of what you ordered. Upstairs in the main level is perfect for small weddings probably no more than 75 people. We had a lot of room in the middle so we could dance. There's a mezzanine above it with more seating areas. I believe they are open regularly for the beer wall, and in fact there were some locals there. But the rest of the place was not like a typical restaurant. It must just be private events. For accessibility, was a golf cart used to take some folks from the grass up to the top floor through the parking lot. because I was at a wedding, the food was through a private caterer. But they had their own beer and a couple wines on the wall downstairs that are there all the time and that was pretty popular. The staff was very nice.

Joyce Dugan from the Saturday Club was nice and easy to work with. Since they didn't have a Friday event, they gave us keys on Friday and allowed us to do set up Friday evening and Saturday morning. They did provide the tables and chairs and set them up on Friday for us which was awesome. The employee Chris was there in the office during the wedding if we needed anything. The place is really cute and was the perfect size for our wedding. We had just the perfect amount of room for the number of table and chairs we used and enough room on the dance floor. There is a little area/ private room near the bathrooms that serves as the bridal suite and also a great place to nurse my son and for other nursing moms. The price was great and I love what the money goes towards. I would absolutely recommend this for a wedding of 50-90 guests or for other events. This would also be a great spot for bridal and baby showers. And they worked so well with our caterer. We put the photo booth in the front vestibule area. With all our vendors booked, finding another venue with the date available was almost impossible. So LUCKY we found Anthony Wayne House and Jeffrey Miller Catering! Absolutely no regrets throwing away that 1st deposit because our experience at Anthony Wayne House was fantastic! They worked with us in every way possible to make the day special. The location is gorgeous. Our coordinator Heather was always responsive and patient with our million questions. The Penrose Suite was perfect for our makeup & hair stylists to prepare our girls for the wedding. The Airstream Trailer was a really fun spot for the guys to hang & do a little putting on the green before the wedding, and the venue pictures don't do it justice. The weather drizzled off & on all day, but at the last minute it cleared and the staff rushed to prep the pergola area so we could have the beautiful outdoor ceremony we had envisioned. Due to the unpredictable weather, cocktail hour was set up inside. Because the weather cleared, the staff was very flexible and set up tables outside - so cocktail hour was held both inside & out. And the food! It was awesome. Everyone raved about it and the beautiful location. Even the wedding cake was absolutely delicious! Changing our venue to Anthony Wayne was the best decision we made. The outdoor wedding space was surrounded by woods and had a pergola in the front. The area was surrounded by historic buildings. There was enough room for an outdoor cocktail hour, with some high-top tables and a few normal tables as well. The reception space was an all-weather tent of sorts, with fans, stringed lights, and solid structure that has plastic walls that could be connected in the case of a storm. There was also a fire pit area, which was really nice. The couple chose to make this a smoking/cigar celebratory area, which worked really well. The cocktail hour was very good. Drinks were tasty and strong, and the hors d'oeuvres (many hot butlered plus a meat, cheese, bread, and vegetable table) were varied and delicious. The main course and desserts were very good as well- not standard bland wedding fare. Your place card corresponded to the dinner choice, so at the bottom of my place card was an outline of a carrot to denote that I had ordered the vegetarian entree option. This was an interesting idea (so that the waiters wouldn't have to double-check and take order), but the waiters did seem to have a hard time serving and looking to see what each person ordered and distributing appropriately. Overall, this venue was beautiful. It is for someone who wants to have an outdoors-y wedding and reception and caters to a very specific clientele as such, but everything was great.

Random first thought on entering the parking lot: I've never been to a place like this where the…read moreeducation center is the same size as the actual arboretum. Jokes aside, while that hyperbole is of course not true, thematically it is. As another Yelper pointed out, this is not Tyler or Morris by a long shot. This is basically a small down and back loop with a few short side trails that crisscross the main path, Jenkins Road. The below is a good map that shows that every trail they have here is 1/4 mile or less (sometimes much less) and that the main path is paved blacktop. www.jenkinsarboretum.org/visit/map/ During our 75ish minutes here, we didn't see anyone (I didn't expect to considering it was a Friday afternoon in winter still with snow on the ground) and the parking lot was nearly empty.
