Tesla's response? Blame the driving conditions, even though the tire itself had no damage and it was pretty clear the crack wasn't new. Then they quoted us over $600 for a replacement rim with mounting and balancing. Ouch. Thankfully, Salinas Tire pointed us to 1-800-EveryRim, and I'm glad they did. Ralph was outstanding. Friendly, professional, and genuinely interested in helping us find the right solution instead of the most expensive one. No pressure, no gimmicks--just honest customer service. We were in and out quickly with the exact rim we needed for $250. We took it back to Salinas Tire, had it mounted and balanced for another $40, and were back on the road for about $290 total--less than half of Tesla's quote! We really didn't want to spend a lot of money, and as the website will explain there are wheels grade A, B and C. We settled for a C to save money; it looked terrific by the way with maybe two little scratches. We got the wheel and paid and were in and out in 10 minutes. Called up Tony, he had his guys roll 75 miles to tow my truck back to his shop. Mind you, this was July 3rd and everyone is ready to get off work. Tony and his crew got on it immediately and confirmed the issue. Tony gave me a great price on the unexpected break down that was nobody's fault. He did warn me that it could be a little wait due to high volume of clients. I ended up going with a muffler delete and replaced my suspension with coil overs. Yen took care of the muffler delete and Lee and two other very helpful gentlemen took care of my coil overs. I have to say I am very satisfied with the quality of work for the value. They quoted me way under anyone else that I had called prior to going with them. I will recommend A-1 Muffler Express to all of my friends and family. They all make you feel that you're part of the family. They offered me coffee and cold water while I waited for my car to be done. One thing to remember, they are experts in mufflers, exhaust systems, and not any other type of work. But it never hurts to ask if they can do it for you!
