    Lobster Pie

Beautiful interior and atmosphere. Service was quick and seamless. The server was knowledgeable on the menu and provided excellent recommendations for our dinner and desserts. Our server Luke recommended the Moules Bourguignon as a good option to share with the table. For dessert, we learned that the Chocolate Soufflé and the Crème Brûlée were some of the more popular desserts. Sure enough, those dishes ended up being our group's favorites of the night. Wish the Lobster Pie was more flavorful and had more lobster inside but we enjoyed the flakiness of the crust and it had a bit of a spice kick to it, just the right amount.

I came here for a work event and we ate on the first floor. We did the bread service which I highly recommend because it's unlimited bread and butter as they said the starter is 130 years old. It is probably the best bread I've had in my life. The BROCCOLINI, BUTTER, WHITE WINE, GRUYERE was sooooo good! I could eat bowls of that. For my main course, I got the WAGYU TOP SIRLOIN AU POIVRE with pommes frites. The meat was so tender and delicous. The ambiance was the beginning of the evening, so there was a light crowd.

Ate at the bar. The bartender's service was great. Enough attention for me to order. Enough space for me to relax. The noise level was a little loud, but I was on the bar side so that's not unusual.

We were celebrating my daughter's 18th bday this past Sunday and wanted to take her somewhere special. She loves French food. The bad: they were out of half of their appetizers and half of their entrees. They said they had a large party the day before. If I would have known this I would have gone somewhere else. Their menu is very limited so being out of that many items doesn't leave a ton of options. Since the items we wanted were those they were out of (most popular) it was very disappointing. My husband also ordered a beer and they were out of it. My daughter ordered a mocktail also out of it. I order the short rib and my one carrot (literally one carrot, see pic) was raw I told my waiter. The good- bouillabaisse was amazing, duck confit was cooked perfectly, tartare was good, their ice cream is outstanding. The server really tried to make up for all the food issues. Instead of having a memorable evening with amazing food it was just average.

We had an absolutely fabulous meal at Maison the other night. Thank goodness I'm not lactose intolerant because we had two cheesy appetizers that were to die for! We started with some delicious fries, a cheese soufflé and this fancy sounding cheese fondue type pot where it created this long string to be added to yummy toasts or the French fries. Next we had the short rib and steak frites entrees. The short rib fell apart with just a fork and was complimented with the smoothest potato puree I've ever had. Husband had the steak and it was cooked perfectly. We ended the meal with three deserts. The creme brûlée, the chocolate soufflé and my daughter had ice cream. I would highly recommend.

My husband and I had an incredible experience celebrating our anniversary here, from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. As soon as we entered, we were greeted with friendly, warm smiles by the hostesses at the host stand. They were professionally dressed, welcoming, and seated us right away. When they asked what brought us in and we mentioned our anniversary, they immediately made us feel special. Shortly after being seated, we were surprised with a signed anniversary card from the staff, such a thoughtful and personal touch that truly set the tone for the evening. The ambiance of this restaurant is so nice! We had made reservations for downstairs, which was moody, romantic and the perfect atmosphere to have a date night/anniversary dinner! Our waitress, Katie, was absolutely wonderful, kind, attentive, and very knowledgeable. I'm currently pregnant and unable to have alcohol, so I really appreciated that there were several mocktail options available. Katie recommended the Fizzy & Lifting mocktail. While I enjoyed it, it was very tart and lime forward. When I mentioned it was a bit too sour for my taste, Katie graciously brought me a Sprite to mix in, which I truly appreciated. Her service was attentive and genuinely caring. For appetizers, we ordered the scallops and the aligot. Both were outstanding! The scallops arrived with a beautiful presentation under a large shell and were perfectly seasoned, glazed with butter and lime. Honestly, they were the best scallops I've ever had. The aligot was served by Tyson, who brought great energy and friendliness to the table. He explained how to enjoy it spread over the baguette, and it was absolutely delicious, comforting, rich, and memorable. For our main courses, my husband ordered the Poulet Pommes Frites à la Moutarde. The chicken was cooked perfectly, and the mustard sauce was incredibly flavorful. I ordered the steak frites, which were also excellent and nicely seasoned steak, crispy fries, and a sauce that was full of depth and flavor. For dessert, we shared the banana caramel profiteroles, which we loved. The pastry puffs filled with frozen banana ice cream and drizzled with caramel glaze were the perfect ending to the meal. To top off an already phenomenal experience, my husband ordered a cappuccino to go. Katie wasn't initially sure if to-go cups were available, but instead of saying no, she went above and beyond to find one for us. That level of effort and care truly stood out. The only small disappointment was not receiving a small anniversary dessert or plate with "Happy Anniversary," as some restaurants do. However, this did not take away from the exceptional service and overall experience. We will absolutely be returning and recommending this restaurant to friends and family. Truly top notch service, incredible food, and hands down one of the best dining experiences in Minnesota.

Such a cute French restaurant. The host/owner spoke French which added to the experience! Did not order food. Went for a drink with a friend. Bartender was nice! Will be back to dine in. It is on the spendy side but very nice vibe! Menus: https://maisonmargauxmpls.com/ We both ordered a Moscow Mule with Tito's. We didn't love the mule. It didn't have much ginger flavor. We wouldn't order it again. Parking: paid metered parking, valet available Staff were nice!

This is a beautiful French brasserie in the heart of North Loop. If you are looking for a date night, family celebration or just an evening to remind you of being in France this is the spot. The ambience is perfect, the food is delicious and the service is Exactly what you would expect Overall, this place is very clean, poised and upscale. The service is professional and timely. There is not a parking lot, but there is a lot of metered street parking as most places have in the north Loop.

Came here on Saturday around 430pm or so for some drinks to start the evening downtown! Perfect starting location. Such a nicely situated bar, well staffed with everything you could possibly imagine. I felt like I was in Paris sitting in this bar. A nice dining space too with lil bistro seating throughout. Our bartender was helpful and quick with our drinks, zero issues. The prices weren't bad either. Did not get any food, only drinks, but would definitely like to go back for some food! Well situated downtown location wise as well.

I cleared out the space. It's my gift.

I enjoy Maison Margaux. It exudes elegance in a multifaceted space, catering to a crowd that can accept more than flannel and baseball caps. Maison Margaux allows me to feel like an adult, with professional service and a sultry design. Chris was our bartender/server at the downstairs bar on a lonely, Wednesday night preceding Labor Day weekend. He was warm, knowledgeable and saw himself as a professional, helping people have a wonderful experience at Maison Margaux. The problem with Maison Margaux is that the menu can disappoint. My vichyssoise was more of a potato purée accompanied by a pile of croutons, with none of the taste or consistency of a classic vichyssoise. However, my steak au poivre was delicious, the frites done perfectly. The Bouillabaisse was also very tasty, its rich broth complimenting the seafood. Maison Margaux lacks consistency, and that's why I can only award four stars. However, I will return, because I enjoy a modicum of sophistication in a world that shoves casual down my throat.

    Sourdough (130 year old starter!)
    Luke G.

Drinks were good, but overpriced. The Short Rib was perfect, but everything else on the plate was bland. The vegetables needed much more salt, especially because they are big pieces with little surface area. The burger was delicious, but the fries weren't crispy shortly after being served. The salad felt bare; there wasn't nearly enough dressing. Maybe 20% of the greens/vegetables had dressing. Overall, I wasn't that impressed. The vibe is modern and trendy... but it was also weird... when you come out of the bathroom there's a picture of a naked women's butt. It's a massive picture. On a brighter note, the staff was very friendly and engaging.

French toast now this is right here bussing 10/10

This place gets a 8/10 the reason why I give it an 8 is because of the potatoes lol. Anyways the entire experience from service to environment and food freaking amazing.

We booked all three rooms back in Fall of '23 and paid our deposit and were excited to get planning come May this year. We got to a month before the event and hadn't heard anything from the Event Coordinator regarding current menu, bar, timing, anything. Three weeks prior to the event we reached out and heard nothing for a week. Two weeks out we followed up and found out the Event Coordinator had changed from the one we booked with and the new one was out for an indeterminate period of time with a family emergency. We worked as best we could with the Event Captain but ended up with incorrect menus and pricing and were finally told the Event Coordinator would be back the Monday of our event week and it would be handled then. We got finalized menus and pricing 36 hours before our event. This was extremely stressful, however, we empathized with the Event Coordinator and were assured the event itself would be great. On the day, we arrived and the staff setting up was unsure how many chairs we wanted. They didn't know which equipment we had paid for to use that needed to be set up. They didn't know what the event was for. They were all very nice and let us know they had extremely limited information about our event which was very concerning for us. The Event Coordinator was present for about 5 mins to ask us about a backup wine if ours ran out and that was it (it did run out because there was only one bottle). There was no Event Captain, and the Coordinator was not on hand and (according to staff) unreachable during the event. We had agreed upon several things including a finite amount to pay for "open bar" and then switching to card after that point and we found out only AFTER we met our minimum that they were never told/weren't prepared to take cards. At that point, our options were no drinks (N/A or otherwise) for the last 3 hours or so of our event or we could just keep paying. So we ended up paying much more than was quoted/agreed upon due to lack of communication/oversight. We were told that guests could visit the attached Blue Stem bar, but it closed two hours before our event ended. We also had guests with dietary preferences/restrictions and had ordered vegan options and gluten free cake. We had asked if these could be explicitly labeled to avoid confusion and were told "yes" and on the day it did not happen so many of our guests were unaware there was anything they could eat at our reception. We were also told we could take our leftovers home and we only got cake when there was a lot of food left when they took it away. The sternos were out for some period of time and we couldn't find someone to help with that. The bar was left unattended. The bartenders were serving and refilling alcohol table to table (which we did not want or ask for), and did not pass appetizers as agreed upon. We reached out to the owner, twice, following our event to discuss our concerns to no avail. We LOVE French Meadow and are just heartbroken to have had this experience with them. Briana and the entire catering group were so helpful from Day 1. As most wedding couples do, we had a lot of questions about logistics and planning. They answered every one of our questions in a timely manner and were thorough in coordinating all of the details of our special day. The day of our wedding, everyone there was immensely helpful and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. We truly owe them the world for making our wedding day so special! The room is perfect. We added floral centerpieces, but the room itself was setup exactly how we wanted, the chairs outside were moved once for our ceremony and then again for our first dance. The lighting both inside and out was more than we could have imagined. We were able to play our own music (a friend just had to manage the playlist), which was super easy! The FOOD, OH MY GOSH THE FOOD! So superb, we got so many compliments from our friends and family about how wonderful the food was. We got to choose 4 food options for our guests and only heard wonderful things about each entree. The cake was also super wonderful and delicious. We would recommend the Nord Room to anyone looking for an intimate wedding location. It was such an easy day (seriously, nothing went wrong!) and we couldn't have asked for a better staff or location. We had a beautiful day and we owe much of that to the wonderful folks at French Meadow!
