Really enjoyed all the oyster selections they had and their one crudo with strawberries was impeccable. They had a really great drink menu and mocktail menu, we were so impressed. We sat outdoors on a hot day but it wasn't too bad. Service was nice but we never really saw the guy, only when he came to mark the table. We asked the busser for another bottle water and he forgot even tho there were 2 tables outside. For 2 people, we spent close to $420 with tip, you would think they would've been more on top of the table, especially bc they could've gotten another round of drinks from us had the server checked in on us more. We went around 4pm, so we're not sure if it's bc it was mid day or if they were switching over to dinner shift and that's why we didn't see our server. Been here a total of three times over several years (just on splurge days) and each time I love the food. Getting in is always hard whether it be due to over crowding or nasty humans and their horrid views. However this time around we did not feel nor see anything of the sort. Perhaps they have learned or maybe they just need anyone's money now. Came in with a weeks long craving of oysters hoping to satiate my mind and body. Started with a tasty, not so little, cocktail (Chiapas Sling which seems to be my go to drink here). With my taste buds doing happy flips I couldn't wait to stuff myself silly with oysters galore. After my 24th oyster and one mammoth sized clam (that thing needed to stay put in the ocean0_o) I had to call it quits. I was thrilled to dine at Maison Premiere again for date night with my boo. We started off by creating our own lip color and then headed for an early dinner. I loved the oysters and cocktails, but the warm food was pretty bland. I had beef cheeks with rutabaga puree and glazed carrots that were, unfortunately, not glazed at all. He ordered a lobster roll, which was mediocre, and we also tried the clam toast, but I had to send it back--it was dry and nothing like I expected. I'm not a fan of fennel, but it just lacked flavor overall. Our waiter, Gray, was fantastic, and Carling took over when Gray went on break. We sat in the garden, and even Tom and Jerry showed up for dinner! I'd recommend the cold plates, drinks, and bread, but skip the entrees. The beef cheeks were cooked perfectly but just didn't have any flavor. I've had much better lobster rolls elsewhere. I'll definitely return, just not for dinner. read more

Highly recommend and definitely make a reservation beforehand! Walk up wait times were around 2 hours on a Saturday night. The hostess, Sarah, was beyond incredible in helping to accommodate our group and she made our night! The ambiance in the back patio especially on a warm night is incredible. We did family style for several dishes on the menu and loved each one - our waiter helped to group them into courses for a good flow and table space. This might be my new favorite place in the neighborhood. Everything is impeccable - from the food, to the ambiance, to the drinks. This place does not miss. It's a really cozy & intimate spot - you should definitely try to get seated in the garden area if you can - it gives secret garden vibes in the middle of Williamsburg. They have a great rotating selection of oysters & other raw bar options & the staff is all very helpful & knowledgeable. The decor felt like it brought you back in time and it was so serene and peaceful. I love it! The food and service was okay, the politeness seemed too forced and they had trouble with my rose and the Bloody Mary should be re-branded as a Mini Mary. We came around 1030, and it was still very crowded for a Saturday with no reservation, so we got very lucky because people were getting turned away. The kitchen was closed, but we didn't care. we really came for the oysters, and they DID NOT DISAPPOINT AT ALL. Even the shrimp cocktail was fresh and sweet (4 pcs 3.75). We ordered a dozen and about 4 different choices, but these were FRESH BABY!!!!! I ordered the draft BIPA "BANG," & this was good if love, well crafted beer from Brooklyn. Then I ordered the Maison Pina Colada, and this was soooooo freaking good HANDS DOWN! The Cinnamon and the fresh mint with shaved lemon on top. This was definitely the showstopper. It was an awful experience. The food and drinks were good, but the hostess was horrible. We made a reservation ahead of time and reserved seats at the Oyster bar. We arrived on time, but the hostess gave us two seats at the regular bar instead of the Oyster bar which we had reserved!!!!! She was not nice at all. We wanted to order the La Maison platter, a large tower of food, which was difficult to eat at the packed front bar where people were elbow to elbow. The Oyster bar has similar counter space but is not as cramped, providing more room to eat. It was awful that she made us sit at the bar where people mostly sit for drinks, despite our reservation. Additionally, during the two hours we were there, two seats in the couch area nearby the bar remained empty. She could have easily seated us there since no one was sitting there (see photo). It wasn't like the seats were reserved. We felt discriminated against, and this will be the first and last time we visited this restaurant. We do not recommend this place! read more

Maison Premiere offers a variety of fresh and high quality oysters, delicious raw and cooked seafood appetizers, and a wonderful cocktail, wine, and spirits menu. Amazing seafood supplemented with great service and a beautiful outdoor garden terrace means a guaranteed good time. Unfortunately for me and my best friend, the weather wasn't the greatest and we opted for indoor seating. We didn't let that stop us from having a good time and the waitress made sure of it. We ordered the Maison Absinthe Colada and the MP Pimm's #40. For food we ordered a variety of east and west coast oysters, raw yellowtail, raw scallops, steamed manila clams, and a lobster roll. The oysters are super fresh and vary in taste from briny and salty to sweet and meaty. Quick tip if you don't know a lot of oyster varieties, the best ones are generally more expensive and this applies to Maison too (minus the kumamoto oysters which I find are sweeter at Asian establishments). Additional highlights include the raw scallops and the steamed manila clams. The scallops are sweet and are complimented by a creamy white sauce that is not overpowering. The salmon roe is a great touch. The steamed manila clams are deliciously savory and have the perfect flavorful seafood taste without it being too fishy. My bestie and I were practically drinking the clam broth. The yellowtail and the lobster roll did not disappoint either. Both were tasty but I've been spoiled by yellowtail at high-end Japanese establishments and fresh lobster in Boston. Take my "this is decently good lobster and yellowtail" with a grain of salt. The cocktails worked well with the seafood. I enjoyed the creamy and sweet absinthe colada which had just the right amount of absinthe. The absinthe lended a floral quality to what would have been a normal piña colada. The MP Pimm's 40 was refreshing but in an earthy way. Imagine a refreshing herbal tea elevated by pineapple and pear notes. Both cocktails hit the spot. With amazing seafood, seamless service, and good vibes, it is worth the trek to Williamsburg and a dent in your wallet. read more

I had a really nice time here this evening. The hostess was a total sweetheart and was able to seat me immediately at the oyster bar. Service was attentive and my water was refreshed throughout. I ordered a gin martini and some oysters. My martini was well made and they served it with olives as requested. It definitely wasn't as dry as I was hoping but I'm not sure if it was their fault or if I just didn't love the gin (I'm typically a Tanqueray person and I ordered with Haymon's London Dry since they didn't have Tanqueray) The oysters were delicious and shucked well. They had a great selection of both east and west coast oysters. The matunucks were great and I treated myself to a Kumamoto which was impeccable of course. Their cocktail sauce and mignonette weren't anything to write home about but were nice complements. Oysters were roughly $2-4.50 a piece. Food menu is very limited other than the oysters, there are some crudo options but it's definitely an oyster/shellfish heavy menu. I know many locals were originally lamenting the loss of this institution, but so relieved that now it's back stronger than ever post-COVID! Came back recently, and it's as great as I remembered it. The vibe here is second to none - it's the closest to getting an old New Orleans feel without buying a plane ticket (for disclosure, New Orleans is my favorite city in the US!). There's just an overall classiness and sexiness to it that is unique. Cocktails here are great, and the bartenders are knowledgable. Amazing and varied oyster list that comes from all over North America. My favorite seats are at the bar counters (either the normal bar in the front, or around the oyster bar in the back). Only bummer is that the famous happy hour of old is no more. Totally understandable though, as I'm sure the business has to make up for lost revenue. This place is known for the best absinthe drinks in NYC! For a lady who doesn't like the strong taste of alcohol, they truly know how to design their drinks to taste good. I originally ordered a virgin pina colada (which by itself was luxuriously DIVINE), but found myself drawn to my friend's absinthe drink. As for food, we ordered 1) seaweed butter and bread, 2) lobster roll, 3) braised beef cheek, and 4) a dozen fresh oysters. Honestly I highly suggest them all, I also might've come very hungry so everything tasted extra amazing. No doubt, everything tasted delicious but in terms of variety I would suggest to get a full meal elsewhere and come here for the star choices from my visit- bread & butter and oysters! Tip: sit by the bar and ask the amazing bartenders for knowledge behind absinthe and the creation of the drink. Just a sneak peak, the reason the absinthe drink looks cloudy and like milk is supposedly because of the water slowly dripping on the sugar cube. I thought ordering chef's choice would be cheaper and we trusted their selection, but we only liked 2 types of oyster from the selection (Malpeque and hood canal). warm olives was good and bread and seaweed butter was very unique. drinks - 4/5, cocktails were good, but some cocktails (carondelet and the lambeth walk fizz) were lacking sweetness. my favorite was maison sherry cobbler. service - 4/5, our waiter was friendly and attentive. ambience - 5/5, I can see why people are obsessed with MP. I really respect the craftsmanship and the hard work these particular bartenders gave! Everytime I come here I'm always amazed by the professionalism. This time not so much. I was told I'd have to wait 15-20 mins for a gin fiz, which I know normally do take longer than other cocktails. Nobody checked back with me because after 20 mins I was just going to switch to a martini. The bartender made my gin fix but I was very messy and I wasn't offered napkins or anything. Pretty restaurant, food was good. If the treatment by waitstaff had been better it would have been a solid four stars. However, our server switched partway through and the new server, before my husband's entree had come and before I had the opportunity to order another dozen oysters, told us that we should "put our dessert order in now so they can get us on our way." On our way? We had been there less than 40 minutes. We had not asked to be sped along - no theater tickets or anything so it wasn't our timing that she was worried about. Now, if she had said we have an amazing soufflé but it takes 45 minutes so we recommend ordering it now? Fine. But that is not what happened. It was clear that they wanted to turn over our table. We had been there for literally 35-40 minutes. I addressed it with her, she got upset and we said it was what it was but we were ready to go. we finished and went to leave. We saw her go speak to a few people for several minutes and then the original server (again with no explanation) came back. We tipped 20% anyway - because we are NOT rude people and we do respect folks who work in restaurants and left. Only AFTER we paid and as we were literally out the door did a gentleman (possibly a manager? He never identified himself) came up to us and basically told us that she didn't mean it the way it sounded and they didn't want us to leave upset. For us? If he had sincerely wanted to address it he would not have waited until we had basically left the restaurant. He also would have introduced himself properly and acted as if he at least understood why that felt as if we were being hustled out. We absolutely would have ordered more food - and yes dessert when we were ready, along with a couple more drinks. He acted like it was our issue and our problem (which I guess it was right?) and that it was normal to have a server request our dessert order before the entree even came. He told us each table had two hours - yet we were hustled out of there having sat there less than an hour. Very disappointing experience.
