Sadly this place is far better for in-restaurant dining. I ordered delivery tonight - combo beef/beef kabob and fries. The beef was sooooo dry and the fries were....chewy? Excellent food! Naan cooked just behind the counter as we ordered. Talk about fresh! We both ordered the chicken and lamb kabob with big, juicy, flavorful chunks of meat. It came with naan, a nice little salad and a sweet cinnamon rice with a few raisins. Appetizers sounded great but I'm glad that we skipped them because the Portia were really big. I ate the lamb kabob that cost $17 or so. They gave plenty to eat, and the food was delicious. As to the lamb meat it was okay, but I had leaner, juicier lamb meat from other kabob places. Some pieces of the meat was a bit fatty and chewy. read more

Finally tried this place. Pleasantly surprised! I might be coming here more often... the food is tasty! That bread that comes with the combo was so soft and delish!! I had the chicken with bones... I didn't mind bone-in since I feel like those meat tend to be more moist and juicy. Indeed it was! The spices were amazing! I even enjoyed the side salad that comes with it .. refreshing. It is not fast food and expect to wait for about 15 minutes for your meal. The bread is smoking hot and the food was warm. If your looking to go on a date wait until date # four or five :). Not a sit down atmosphere but has seats like any other carry-out spot. About 10 tables. I would go here again. U had a lamb and chicken tikka combo and substituted salad for potatoes. Yummers! update 10/10/11 I got Samosas, pumpkin, tandoori bread, and Lamb Curry with brown rice today. The pumpkin is amazing and most similar to sweet potatoes but sweeter and less wet. The samosas are good too and are basically pastry filled with potatoes like one would imagine. I would not get the Lamb curry again and instead would stick with Lamb kabob. If I want the veggie platter bc I like those sides but want to add a kabob I basically have to purchase two meals bc there's no Ala cart menu for the kabobs; that can get pricey. I love this place. I usually have the special which differs every day. The potions are good and the prices are decent. The chicken is always tender and juicy. The lamb is amazing. The eggplant and pumpkin are two of my favorite dishes. I eat here at least once every week with co-workers and the food is always hot and good. Before I say anything about the food that is served here, I would like to point out how respectful and polite the Teenager working the counter was. This young man has better customer service skillsets than many other bigger restaurants have! I would come back to this place solely based on how nice they are, add on the delicious food they serve and its a homerun! But seriously the food taste amazing and has that authentic middle eastern feel to it, I've spent my fair share of time overseas and was craving a good middle eastern meal. Yum! This place was great! The staff was super friendly and explained the items on the menu we were unsure about along with the specials. We ended up getting the lamb and beef kebabs which were cooked and seasoned well. I would definitely recommend them. What an awesome place run by super service oriented people who serve high quality food! I ordered on doordash, an item was left out (by restaurant or dasher unsure) but I called the restaurant and immediately they contacted doordash to get me a refund and apologized to me for the inconvenience and I didn't even have to say much beyond missing it. I could not be more pleased with how wonderfully responsive and courteous this young man was. Now on to the food, we ordered multiple sides like spinach and eggplant, samosas and the appetizer with the A that's like a dumpling of sort but very saucy and tender and delicious. Thank you Yelp for the advice to go to this place for lunch with my mom. It was a great little place with just a couple minor hiccups. We went on a Saturday afternoon, and even at that time every seat in the place was taken. Which is a great sign if you ask me! It is quick food too, so just waiting for our food allowed a seat to open up. The customer service is excellent. The gentleman behind the counter was super helpful and nice. When I ordered my food he said great choice (referring to the samosas) and even when getting to go boxes he was overly accommodating. Anyway, the food is hit or miss. The samosas were really good, tasted super fresh and homemade. The chicken kabob platter was also delicious, I highly recommend getting this and will be getting it next time! The beef kabob, however, was so so so dry, I was so disappointed, luckily my mom gave me some of her chicken, otherwise I would not have been very satisfied. Love that they give you a side salad, it was really good. The side of rice had raisins in it and was sweet, which was kind of weird to me, but might be the traditional way of doing it? I don't know, but it wasn't my fave. What WAS my fav was the naan, OMG it was delicious. You can see them making the fresh naan right behind the counter, it was soo good. We also got a side of hummus perfect for dipping the naan. The atmosphere was a little grungy. When I went to use the bathroom they had a mop and bucket sitting right in front of the toilet, the smell was overwhelming and was a huge turn off... I appreciate it being cleaned, but it was kind of gross to be sitting there though. It seems like it might be a storage issue as they had stacks of boxes and cases of water in the back hallway where there is another door to enter and exit the restaurant. Overall, it was good. This place is pretty basic but the food definitely isn't. Parking is technically behind the restaurant so the door you come in is the back. The menu is on the wall and you order up front. They either call out numbers or bring the food depending on how busy it is. We went for dinner on a Friday night, around 5:30 and it wasn't crowded but not deserted either. We ordered the aushuk, a dumpling filled with ground beef and covered with lentils and a delicious mint yogurt sauce. SUPER DELICIOUS and highly recommend! For the main meal I ordered the falafel platter and my husband ordered the lamb kabob. He really enjoyed his meal and I didn't get to try it so I'll have to take his word for it. The falafel platter had several falafels, rice, hummus, salad and came with naan and a green sauce. In order of my favorite to least, the green sauce, rice, naan, falafel, salad, hummus. I thought the hummus tasted too much like tahini but my husband loved it. I liked that the naan was fresh and very tasty. My daughter really liked the falafels but I thought they were just okay. I thought the rice was really good and really loved the green sauce. Prices were reasonable for portion size and the place was clean and service was prompt. They also had daily specials on the wall. Afghan food is hard to find and this is probably the best in the area. I got the vegetable platter with stewed eggplant, pumpkin with yoghurt, spinach, chickpeas, potatoes, fresh rice and fresh naan bread. My only complaints were the overuse of styrofoam cups and plates. Terrible for the environment. I'll definitely come back to try other things! read more

I have been to the Columbia location and a first for this one. I really like this better! We had the Chicken Curry and the Kofta kabobs. Came with different rice and I'm not a fan of the cinnamon spiced one. The other more traditional one was very moist and fresh. i had a lot of chicken in my plate !! Salad and rice with the yogurt sauce was included. Love the large bread which was very fresh & warm. I would like to return and try something different. The place is clean and they offer some additional condiments by the soda station. Can enter on either side of the restaurant. Prices are very reasonable. read more
