Came here for a showing of The Room, which was fun. I like the offerings here, the popcorn is good, but most other things on the menu are hit and miss (pass on the potato skins). The real problem here is the atmosphere. The Tempe location is chill and friendly, this place feels very strict and severe. You're treated like you're invading their private space. If you go in with the expectation that they don't want you to be there, it's not so bad, but if you can get the same movie at the Tempe location do that instead. read more

This place is normally where we go for movies. I do have a small gripe though. Back in August I took my kids to see 1990s Keanu Reeves in the classic crime thriller, Point Break. It's one of my favorite movies and I was super excited to see it on big screen again as well as share it with my teenage children. Often when I've seen these retro screenings they have directors or producers from the film introduce the film in lieu of previews. So... when it started off with a few dudes talking about the film I wasn't even phased. Then the dudes introduced the film and it started....only these idiots never stopped talking. They just kept talking and talking... kinda like the old Mystery Science Theatre, only NOT FUNNY. The damn movie wasn't even full screen and we were forced to look at these morons stupid faces while they told shitty jokes to a live audience. On one occasion they made a dumb joke about Kurt Cobain's death and our view on the screen left Point Break entirely and we were treated to the facial reactions of the "comedian's" live audience. Shortly after this shit show started, we decided to bail but we had already ordered dinner and we're gonna be charged for that regardless so we gobbled down our food and bolted. It was so bad I didn't even consider demanding my money back for the tickets. The whole experience felt to me like I imagine it would feel to be headed to a date with Scarlett Johansson only to find out when you arrived that you were actually meeting with Scarlett Johnson, the star of "My 600lb life". Majestic Management... if you're gonna show nonsense like this, please do a more clear job of explaining the deal on the website. Maybe a disclaimer in BOLD letters like "PLEASE DO NOT BUY TICKETS TO THIS SHOW UNLESS YOUR IN THE MOOD TO SLIT YOUR WRIST WHILE THREE IDIOTS MAKE JOKES DURING THIS CLASSIC ACTION FILM". Class Action, hmmm, that should be the kind of lawsuit that gets filed against the producers of this trash. Maybe I can get a few dollars like I did after the Blockbuster Video "late fees" suit. Food and service was fine but the overall experience this time was subpar. If you screen Silence of the Lamb in the future, no jokes please, Buffalo Bill was more entertaining than the RiffTrax Live clowns. UPDATE: I just learned that the RiffTrax people are the very same people from Mystery Science Theatre fame. It's a shame that apparently you get less funny as time goes on. The new QR system is absolutely trash!! This was one of our favorite places to go see movies, but after this last time, we will not be going back. The enjoyment of going to the movies, looking at the menu, writing down your order and paying at the end was the best part of the experience. Now you have to fumble around to scan a QR code in the dark and sit on your phone awkwardly scrolling through the menu. They also add a 20% charge for tip, even though we never spoke or interacted with anyone. We spent part of the movie putting in credit card information. I cannot imagine going to a popular movie in a packed theater and having everyone be on their phones. Sure, having people speak to the waiter throughout the movie could be annoying, but not as annoying as having a row of people in front of you looking at cheese fires on their phones for 90% of the movie. This is the worst change imaginable and you honestly will not be seeing our business again. This is after coming here every other week for a new movie. read more

We went to the Majestic Gilbert to watch Barbie. I thought dinner and the movies woo-hoo!! Reclining seats, air-condition, people waiting on me. First off the seats are really narrow. There is a table in between two seats it is a little too high if you are short. The table has a light to read the menu. Unfortunately, the light is not really bright enough to read by. The food was decent. Unfortunately, I didn't pay close attention to the prices. I did not expect a $123 (tax and P206??? included) bill. Twelve dollars for a milkshake!!! That was maybe 12 ounces. Granted they were tasty but TWELVE DOLLARS. Popcorn $12. ICEE $7.50. The appetizers were approximately the same prices as the entrees. My advice: Read the menu when you are in the lobby not when you are in your seats with your kids. If you have a back issue bring a pillow. Getting in and out of the seats are difficult. To the Majestic: Eating is difficult when sitting down. The table is too far away to eat off. The hamburger should have been cut in half or at least had a wrapper of some sort. Horrible experience. Trying to scan QR codes in the dark just to see the menu on your phone is really annoying and unnecessary. The prices for food are insane. Nearly 50 bucks for a sandwich and a drink. I went to see a 11:25 show and decided at around 11:15-11:20 I wanted my money back because of their crazy prices for food and their wonky menu system, then I'm told by a manager that they have an one hour rule where they don't give refunds. Like WTF? I could see being denied for a refund if I was asking for a refund once the movie started but this was before the movie even started. I believe they don't give refunds as a poor attempt on their part to make you try to stay. Their tactic didn't work with me. I left. 26 bucks is literally nothing to me. This place really sucks. No wonder why me and my wife were the only ones in the theatre. I wouldn't be surprised if this place ran out of business soon. People, go to Harkins/AMC and have dinner or lunch before or after a movie to get a much better experience. read more

I love this place. Early showings in the morning are always nice. The price for an early showing is always cheaper than most other theaters if you go later on. The food is amazing, the popcorn in the silver bowl is always my favorite. Oh and the loaded fries is amazing!!! The staff is always friendly and helpful. This theater used to be my go to over Harkins. Not anymore. When I first started going, they didn't require checking tickets, then a couple months after that they started handpicking random people to ticket check while letting countless other people walk by. You also were allowed to bring an outside water bottle and now you can't , so you have to run back out to your car to put it back and are forced to drink their gross tasting water. The food also used to be good but I cannot believe how much I paid for flavorless popcorn, a grilled cheese where there was hardly any cheese and the bread tasting like it was toasted in a toaster. The churro pretzel was a regular pretzel with minimal cinnamon and sugar on it. It tasted like a regular pretzel. Cold chocolate and caramel dipping sauce too. They also tried a new thing where they took away the free popcorn and drink refills and reinstated it when they realized people didn't like that. Way to save a buck majestic. Taking away your only competitive edge over other theaters. Either put policies in place and uphold them or stop changing things. read more

We took our daughter to see Moana 2. The first preview shown was a R rated (violence and sexual themes) anime trailer. Come on Majestic. We came to see Moana to show our daughter her first movie in theaters not to expose her to severely adult themes. Service and everything was great as always. Show different previews for kids movies. We LOVE Majestic!!! The food is pretty good and the service is fast! They have the best deal for popcorn it's unlimited and comes in huge bowls!! The prices for kids drinks are very reasonable and the chairs are very large and comfy and they recline! No other theater will suffice! read more

I'll start with the pros, the ambience, setting and feel of the lobby/bar and the theater as a whole is fantastic. The employees at the front were welcoming and directed us to the proper theater. I am not sure if the theater was understaffed, or what was going on, but to service and take orders for the entire theater there was only one server for a full theater, so the process of taking everyone's order went well into the first quarter of the film. We ordered a couple cocktails, a grilled cheese, and a Mushroom patty melt type sandwich with a loaded fry starter. The cocktails and fries came out expeditiously and were fantastic, some of the best loaded fries I have ever had. The grilled cheese came out and was incredible, however, the Mushroom patty melt never arrived, later upon receiving my bill I noticed I was still charged for a sandwich that was never delivered. I went to notify the staff of the issue and was met with an annoyed "ok" and the sandwich was removed from the bill, no explanation or communication as to why what happened, had happened, which I found a little odd. I'm sure there was a logical explanation or a simple miscommunication as to why the order was messed up. As we left after the film I saw several other couples with similar order issues who were much more frustrated than I was and were not afraid to dish out disrespect to the front of house staff over a similar issue (seriously people have some humanity and respect customer service employees). Overall it wasn't a terrible experience and I am looking forward to changing this review to a 5 star after a better night at the cinema. read more

We haven't been to a Majestic in several years (since previous ownership) and was excited to see One Love in the theatre. When we arrived there wasn't anyone to guide us on what to do or where to go so we figured out which theatre we were in and went and stood in line until they opened the doors. The theatre was clean and we had the perfect spots in the middle of the room. We started to look through the menu and noted the video that stated servers would come through when the lights went down. That didn't happen. I was actually worried that no one would come and I opted to not eat because I was waiting to get there. Eventually someone did come and we were able to place our order which came out cold and the desert never came. I think we only saw the server one more time throughout the entirety of the movie. There was a couple who talked through the entire movie and off note high pitch hummed through the whole thing. I probably should have said something but kept telling myself they were trying to enjoy themselves too (this is obviously not the fault of Majestic). I would try this location again just for the convenience of having an actual menu and servers but I do miss when it was previously owned. The food and service was better and the movie parties were awesome! read more

Disappointing. Please disregard the name... it's anything but! Tonight was a disaster from the start. Food took forever & didn't come out together. Then out pizza was so badly burned it was black. Reluctantly, we sent it back. They promised a new one. It never came. When our bill came-- we & our friends all got the same bill-- all charged on OUR card. We turned our card... wanted help & refills. No one came. So embarrassed we talked our friends into trying this place with us. The bill was fixed. We demanded the pizza be removed. They gave us vouchers to come back- we won't be using them. In fact a year ago we used a $10 voucher- the amount was never removed. We won't be back! Worst experience, terrible service. We had a great experience today. Their reclining chairs are Sooo comfortable. Our server was quick and efficient. The food was great too. I absolutely love the vegan cauliflower wings. Went to see The Lost City tonight and service was much better when they were Alamo. Our server was really nice but she greeted us, and checked on us once during the preshow and then never again. We ordered chicken strips which usually come with gravy and we told the server we wanted a side of ranch in addition to the gravy. We put up an order card to ask for the side of gravy and no one came. Also our itemized receipt was not our receipt? Put up a card to ask about that also but it never got picked up! We ended up just doing the math and thinking that our total was probably pretty close to what they ran on our card and said whatever. Hope they get better. Just moved to Gilbert and this might be my new favorite theater. Came here for the first time and kind of had an idea of it was from reading yelp reviews before we went. I liked the cheap ticket prices for the matinee showtimes. I loved the decor of the place and the old movie posters in the hallways. Im a big aviation guy so i loved the F-14 with Maverick and Goose hanging over the bar. Once we got to our seats the staff came and took our orders. The popcorn was good and i ordered a patty melt which i liked and it also cane with fries which was a plus. Overall very good experience. The only downside was the table was stationery and it has alot of room but you cant really use it to eat off of it without having to sit up in your seat. read more

This recently changed from the Alamo and we were excited to try it out. Due to COVID, not many movies have been released that we have wanted to see, so we never had the chance to try out the Alamo before Majestic 8 took over. Expectations were a bit high as we have been to a similar theater once that had table service and food, which was just alright but lacked more food choices. This seemed more appealing because of their larger food menu and reclining seats. So we decided to not go out to dinner beforehand and instead reserve our dinner for the movie (which was a huge mistake). The movie theater experience was bad, maybe it was just the night we went, but they had the AC blasting to what felt like 65 degrees. There was only 4 other people in the entire theater. It was freezing and made the movie unenjoyable. The food was absolutely terrible. We ordered a bacon burger, and some fajita style chicken sandwich. The burger was awful and disgusting. School lunches back in the day were better than this burger. This was just inedible and the same with the chicken sandwich, it was as if they used that refrigerated Tyson grilled chicken, heated it up in the microwave one too many times, slapped some cheap Kraft cheese slice on top with onions and peppers and put it onto some cheap hoagie roll. Took one bite of both and had to spit it out. The movie was really long and the server never returned after dropping the food off until the end of the movie to give us the check. I'm not sure about some of their other food, but for the quality of what we ordered, it was really bad especially for the price. While, I think they have a really cool concept of dinner and a movie, it is just executed very poorly with their food quality and service. I would say if you are going to go here, just go for the movie experience (bring a blanket just in case the AC is blasting). read more

My fiancé and I have been here a few times and always enjoy having dinner and watching a show. We always have great time with great service. The reason we will keep coming back is bc of the great customer service. My fiancé wanted to see Barbie and the in the middle of the movie the screen went black and there was an error with the movie. Ultimately we weren't able to watch the movie at the scheduled time. However the managers took care of their customers. They Comped our whole meal and everyone else in the theatre as well also offered us free movie tickets to come back or see another movie the same night! Great place highly recommend! read more

The service was amazing. The seats were comfy. It was fun being able to order dinner and watch a movie at the same time. We went a bit overboard on ordering food so got a bit pricey. Next time we will get a couple things to share. Hubby tried multiple flavors of the Italian sodas. Loved them. The wouldn't recommend the chicken tenders. Got a gift card for Christmas decided to have a date night on the cheap. Been trying to buy tickets for John wick 4, for 3 days online gift card system not working. Called and was told that they could do it when we got here they would reserve the seats. Show up only to be told that it's still not working and I would have to pay for tickets that should already be covered .... But it should work for the food. Ended up having to come out of pocket and told by the manager .... Sorry nothing we can do (maybe comp my tickets for the inconvenience! Wont be coming back to this location.
