My family and I wanted to go watch Avatar on the Monday after Christmas. I went online to buy tickets to be told there was a "seat reservation error". We figured there was a problem with the website so we headed down there as it appeared they had plenty of empty seats. Once we got there, we were told that due to an employee shortage they would not be showing that movie time. It would have been nice to have that shown on the website instead of having it appear like there was just a website problem. Do better Majestic. read more

This place has amazing potential, if they can hire the right staff and the right leaders to create a magical experience. As it is now, there is not much magical about this theater at all; you might as well go to Harkins. A few things that surprised me and disappointed me. The wait staff was quiet and couldn't be bothered to even respond to please and thank you's from my 4 year old son. Our check was closed out 30 mins into the movie after we continued to put up our piece of paper asking for another drink. The staff continued to complain to other guests about call outs and how short staffed they were; if that's the case and you are going to give sub par service, just close the doors. I paid $70 for 2 tickets, some popcorn, an appetizer and a drink. This place won't last before it is closed or bought out again by another company. read more

We had a burger had to be one of the worst burgers our service suggested mushroom burger with bacon and barbecue sauce which it didn't come out with it so he had to go get it but they came was barely cooked and dripping with grease hardly any flavor besides grease.The movie theater was so insanely cold most are a little chilly but this was ridiculously cold . We used to go to the Alamo in Chandler which was really nice when it first opened and went down hill. we thought we would try again since they re-branded and there was a new one out here. People were nice, not sure if we will come back. Only 3 people in the theater we said it was cold when we walked into out theater the server said yeah it's cold. Nice theatre. Food is expensive but good. I loved coming here but tonight my bill had an added charge called "p206". When I asked the manager he told me it was a tax. It is not. It comes from prop 206 the enables restaurants to charge an added percentage that they keep to pay for the increase minimum wage of its employees. Be aware of this on your bill. Not the best experience if you actually want to watch the movie. The waitress came up to get my slip of paper request during the movie, then proceeded to tell me how to make the same request using my phone instead. I don't understand how they think it's ok to interrupt the movie? Isn't that why people are there, to watch a movie? They actually encourage people to use their phone during the movie, which I find annoying as an avid movie watcher. And then because it is dark, it's hard to scan the QR code for the menu. The waitress recommended me to turn on the flashlight of one phone and use another phone to scan it. Seriously? How is this system not annoying to everyone? I will not be back for a movie I really want to see. But maybe for a disruptive experience, like drinks with friends or for a kids movie, where the plot isn't important. This place only gets 1-star because I can't give a zero. Coming from CA were they have Cinepolis, we told this theatre was similar. NOT EVEN CLOSE. From the service to the food to the un-movable tables and broken recliners, this place is a dump. To start the soda was flat. Then they brought a cheese pizza when we ordered pepperoni. My wife was told she could get the quesadilla with the chili and sauce on the side. They brought her a cheese only quesadilla. After putting up the card and waiting several minutes while staff walked passed us, finally had to flag down a robot. After several more minutes, the waiter finally came, so I could tell him the problems. Another 10 minutes passed before he served me a burnt pizza and told me the quesadilla comes with everything or nothing and he wasn't aware of that. Any respectable establishment would have removed the items from the bill. They of course didn't. Run to Harkins or AMC! Do not waste your time at this place read more

Went to the Gilbert Majestic on February 2nd and very much enjoyed the movie. However, the wine served in such a small glass at $11 seems like a cheat. It probably had about 4 ounces of wine in it. Then, when we received our credit card bill, I noticed a mysterious billing with a code of P206 for $3.76. What was this for? I asked the bartender and she said it was their charge for us using a credit card. This is bogus and will probably keep us from using a credit card there if we ever go back. And the wine glasses used are a rip-off. Very disappointed with this situation! read more

Terrible experience! Decided to try the Majestic 8 Theater by taking my family to see the new Top Gun movie. While waiting for the movie to start the food runner dumped a full glass of root beer ALL OVER my son. He was soaked from his shirt to his shoes. My son had to run home, shower and change and hurry back, and missed the first 15-20 minutes of the movie. No one even came and apologized to him at any point, and when we got the final bill, they didn't even comp the root beer. Aside from that stressful disaster, the overall experience was also lackluster. We got there 30 minutes early hoping to get all of the food taken care of before the movie started, but we didn't even get the rest of our food until almost an hour into the movie. My "Bottomless soda" remained bottomed out, waiting for a refill until the last 15 minutes of the movie. And the servers going around the theater and talking to people throughout was distracting. I honestly can't recommend this experience to anyone. Sorry Majestic, but I will never be back. read more

Today, we went to see Air, fantastic movie, but what made the whole experience awesome was Samantha (Sammy) she was FANTASTIC! Thoughtful, quick with drinks, checked often if we needed anything, sweet, knew the menu, terrific upswell as well. We were talking as a family as we left, and said," next time, let's call ahead and see if she will be working our theatre"... yep, she was THAT great!!! Not impressed! They don't allow you to bring water in not even children. They said they bring water for the 4 kids I brought with me & having to ask several times for water they brought it when there was about 20 min left in the movie. Overpriced movie experience in my opinion. read more

Unfortunately the theater was freezing I'm not talking alittle cold it was freezing when I asked the employees they just said that theater is always really cold like there is nothing they can do it about it, we tried it again another time and same thing to the point where we are shivering. I'm giving a generous amount of stars in the hope they make some changes to this place. We used to not go to any other theatre but after our last two experiences we decided it no longer deserves our loyalty. We bring loads of friends and rave about it and then the experience is embarrassing. 1. Service is worse than bad. While the servers are kind and I think do they best they can, my partner never got his pizza (after bringing it up twice) and by the third time he thought to bring it up - the movie was almost over and he didn't want to sit in an empty theatre eating pizza. 2. Our friends had to frantically wave down a server as well to let them know they never got their food. Which made me feel awful as I highly recommended the place. 3. They were out of approximately 4 different things we ordered and bc my partner never got his pizza, and the other item he wanted was unavailable, he had to get dinner after. 5. Three out of the 6 people we brought had their checks incorrectly so there was that whole fiasco. 6.They now do ads, and cheesy videos regarding cell phone usage that treat the audience like children. They used to have funny and strange videos to get you hyped about the movie you were about to see, and we would come early just for that. Extremely sad at what this place has become. We went to see the lost city tonight, great movie! Our service on the other hand was not good. We put up a card beginning of the previews and no one came to get it until 15 mins later. They bring us drinks, they weren't ours, 20 mins later we get our drinks. We also order a pretzel they brought that too us but also someone else's burger we told them that wasn't ours. After an hour into the movie I put another card up for another drink, I got a chicken Cesar salad it was small enough to be a side salad. The card was still sitting there after I finished my food and she brought the checks so I never got a 2nd drink. The card was up there for 45 mins to an hour.... For a 2 hour plus movie I got one drink.... This place was amazing when it was Alamo, we are very disappointed because we went to Alamo maybe once a month and now we won't be going back because this is the 2nd time with slow service both times with not that many people in the theater. read more

We went on Wednesday the 27th, the least busy day of the week in my experience. The customer service was almost non-existent, and what service there was was delivered with an awful attitude. Our server, Teziya, never even came to our seats. My husband and I missed important parts of the movie because we had to seek her out three separate times to get popcorn and drink refills. We found her chatting with three coworkers at the end of the hall while our drinks had been sitting at the bar for over 15 minutes. It's such a shame that this theater has gone so downhill since they switched from being Alamo Drafthouse. I'll just stick with AMC where I can get my refreshments myself. read more

Ok, we loved the Alamo but felt the food quality had gone downhill. In comes Majestic to save it! They still have all the charms of the previous establishment, but the food is way better. We've been twice now and loved the Diablo burger. The new popcorn seasonings are bomb too. Give them a try if you want a great movie experience with yummy food and a nice beer and cocktail selection. First off they don't give the option of senior pricing online and they charge a $3 processing fee. Ridiculous. Then on their website they have a Senior Saver program from Sept. 1-Oct.31. The server didn't know anything about it and had me look it up (instead of doing it herself). She went and got the manager. Manager said it was from last year (though the verbiage does not state a year, just 9/1-10/31) and it wasn't in effect. I have been coming here for a couple years and would consider myself a regular customer. But things have gone down hill. Vegan cauliflower wings are inedible since they use stock pieces of cauliflower; it's like they don't taste test their foods monthly or have any quality control. Service is very spotty; if you want to order food, don't bother ordering midway through the movie or it'll never come but it'll show up on the ticket and you have to spend 10 min waiting for them to fix it at the register. They tend to get things wrong on the written note order system they force you to use too. The place seems very stretched thin with staffing, which probably contributes to these problems. None of these issues were a thing until the Alamo was bought out by Majestic. They cut corners for cost and it shows in almost every way (food, service, price hikes, tap beers, their logo and ads for christs sake...). Their chairs are nice so I'll be back to inevitably be disappointed again :) read more

Sadly my first impression could be my last. We went to see a movie tonight. We showed up 30 minutes prior to movie which they suggested. The theater was dirty from the previous showing. So we didn't get into the theater until 15 minutes before showtime. We were delayed on ordering our food. The drinks we had while waiting for them to clean sucked. We waited a long time to get refills. The bill comes and it's mostly wrong. They attempted to over charge by $25. It's $3 Wednesday and they were charging full price and duplicated charges. They had to correct the bill 3 times! Looks like Fat Cats might be the best option for dinning movie experience. Let's see what Majestic says. read more

I rated this as a 2 because it is a good theater but the food is very underwhelming and expensive. I expected expensive because it's in a theater, but I would rather eat a $2 cheeseburger from McDonald's than the $19 "Diablo" burger/fries at this theater. The burger was no bigger than the McDonald's cheeseburger and it was rather burnt tasting- and for a burger that advertised "ghost pepper jack cheese and cayenne aoli... Haven't been to this theatre since it became Majestic. It has fallen off in quality. The seats were fine and the place is clean, that's the good part. I was very disappointed in the food service. For some reason everything my girlfriend and I ordered came out at a different time. She received her iced tea, then about7 minutes later, I received my soda. I inquired and the young lady said something about everything that goes in goes in on separate tickets? Why? I'm paying it all with one card. The. My pizza came out. It was like warm but burned. Crust was very hard. I ate it before my girlfriends burger came out almost 20 minutes later. Needs to flow better than that. read more

This used to be Alamo Drafthouse. For whatever reason they moved on from the Alamo name and the Alamo quality went right with it. The food is very mediocre now (ie, Pizzas are now made with pre made crust that looks and tastes like Boboli). The beer selection went down the tubes. Lots of bud light, Miller light type of junk rather than the great craft brews that Alamo had. And, the attention to detail is missing. The staff no longer try to be invisible. They just walk around and talk at normal volume during the moving (one even opened the exit door letting sunlight in during the movie). Lousy experience! read more

The new ordering system is horrendous. The appeal of going to a Majestic was that it was like Alamo Drafthouse and phones and talking were strictly forbidden. It's no different than any other theater now, phones out while we fumble through the confusing menu. And no easy way to signal when someone is just playing on their phone, like several people were at the Dawn of the Dead screening last night. No easy way to alert staff to talkers either. We had the couple next to us just chatting away, like they were at any other chain, the whole movie. There's no reason not to just go to Harkins, even with the cool curated cinema, if it It's just going to be people talking and playing on their phones. It's sad, because the people who still went to Majestic even during a pandemic were the ones who appreciated the system that was in place and stayed loyal to a theater that was supposed to get the love we have for theater. Now it's just any other chain and not worth going out of the way for. He food's still good, expensive, but I'll give you the benefit of "iNfLaTiOn" and not that some shareholder needed a new boat. read more

Decided to take the grandkids to see a movie. Attempted to purchase seats online, but kept getting a seat confirmation error, so drove to the theater to buy tickets. Was told they are no longer selling tickets because of a server shortage. Talked to the manager (Nicole) and said we came a distance and would only order at the walk up counter. Got the same " We are not selling any more tickets because of a server shortage", We're really sorry" No give, no consideration to buy tickets to watch the movie. Just robotic and condescending.........We're sorry" Put a notice on the website so we don't travel a distance. Make an attempt at sincerity. No managerial skills, just looking for a way to reduce her workload. Poor attitude with zero attempt at customer service. read more

Fun, Amazing , Well Done!!!! We were there to watch the Steel magnolias and have a southern high tea. We were greeted at the door by a Southern Belle who gave us a hanky as we would probably cry since the movie was so touching. We were welcomed with info about the making of the movie and the screenplay writer who wrote the true story of his sister who main character was based upon. We regularly come to this theater as the seats, food and service are usually great. However, we have noticed that it has steadily declined. I think today may be our last visit. The menu is greatly reduced and the prices are much higher. The quality of the food was mediocore. Also, they charge an extra P206 tax placing their responsibility of paying their employees minimum wage in the patron's lap. Understand inflation, staffing etc. but reducing services and charging an excessive amount for them is not the way to bring back business. read more
