As a general contractor, I deal with many trades , and many companies. I recently took on a project where the homeowner had passed away and we are updating the entire house for sale which consisted of all new tile, electrical, plumbing, drywall, cabinets, countertops, painting of the inside outside and everything in between. Some of the windows in the house were installed by magic window. One of the casement windows had a broken handle assembly. This broken assembly is what makes the window open and without this assembly properly functioning you cannot open the window. I called Magic window and spoke with their customer service manager Katie Willenemse. I then spoke with Julie in their customer service department numerous times trying to arrange service. Each time being told that I would receive a phone call back with an update. This phone call never happened. I was told by Julie and Katie Willenemse that we would have to transfer the warranty for $125 to the new owner before they could service us. I tried explaining to them that there is no new owner and that the owner had passed away and that the attorney handling the probate still had control of the house under the original owners name. I once again tried to explain until the house was sold their would be no name to transfer the warranty to seeing that the house has not been sold yet. I had made arrangements with Katie Willenemse to have their service technician meet me at the house on a Saturday between 8 and 12. I waited at his house on a Saturday until 12:30 only to find out their service technician was not going to show up and didn't even bother to call. I was then informed by the technician that he would see if they could find a part for me and try and remedy this issue for me and would call me back. Of course no callback. I then spoke with their installer, Brian to try and get this simple handle assembly repaired and or replace and was even willing to pay the $75 service call fee even their $125 transfer fee (even though it should still be under warranty as the commercials say "they're windows are guaranteed for life") to no avail. After being told I would get many callbacks to update me on progress I realize that nobody over at Magic window was going to call me back and they obviously were not interested in customer service. Funny, I thought by warranting or guarantee your lifetime Windows was the motivating factor to purchase your lifetime guaranteed Windows. Even after my agreeing to pay a $75 service fee, and even though these windows were still under warranty I could not get service and was repeatedly told by Katie Willenemse that they would be doing me a favor by repairing these windows. Their general manager Alan Brook's refused to even come to the phone and try and service this lifetime guarantee on their magic windows...... I now have turned it over to the attorney handling the estate and hopefully they will do him a favor and services window. Do not use this company if you plan on having them service their windows after they install them. read more

We contracted with Majic to have new siding installed and up the insulation coverage around the house a couple of years ago. All of the old siding was removed down to the original home. They then added foam board to the walls but failed to seal the seams and gaps before applying the siding. A day or two later, the insulation guys show up to blow in a couple of feet of insulation into the attic space. The crew leader was so "under the weather" that he couldn't get out of the truck for two hours and the other guy had to do all of the work himself. They failed to add the air ducts from the soffit to an area above the insulation level designed for proper air circulation. It didn't take but a few days and my wife and I are complaining about cold zones in the front facing areas of the home we didn't have before. We called to complain and they came out to review the home. They claimed there was nothing wrong with their installation of the siding. When I mentioned they didn't seal the seams of the foam boards to prevent drafts, they claimed it was too costly. My on line search shows this is the industry standard to perform the sealing process. Who know what else they failed to do correctly when the new siding is covering all of the errors. The insulation crew was called back to add the missing ducts and again the crew leader couldn't get out of the truck again. We continued to complain but the manager at Majic used everything he could to blame the cold zones on somebody else. I had to ask him if he was the only company to hammer, cut and apply new material as well as adding more insulation to my home, who should I look to blame. He continued to claim they performed their job right even thought I pointed out the shortcuts in the process. The end result is a colder home after new siding and added insulation. The check is cashed and they accept no responsibility for the cold conditions we experience. BEWARE OF THE GYPSIES THAT GO DOOR TO DOOR AND ADVERTISE ABOUT THEIR GREAT WORK. Not only do I work here but all of us who do only install our products into our own homes because our competitors quality products are muchhhhh less than ours. Other customers tend to misunderstand the lengths we go through for them. Our business hours are particular and we have people who specialize in each department, so if you call my department(estimates and product information) to cancel a contract or speak about installation, oranything other than what I specialize in, I cannot give you any information. We are the only department who stays late as well and we often get calls late looking for other info. We also receive complaints on our policy of 15yrs that we need to have you AND your spouse (If married) and all home owners present for the estimate, this is because our products are custom and we have to by law explain them to all customers involved. The salesmen pay out of pocket for their gas to go to your home and measure allof your windows and travel all across Michigan so for their trouble we do require an hour total of your time so they can fit in a small presentation so you are also thoroughly informed. And weekends especially we call to make sure you are home because again, they pay for their gas to travel across the state and do not want to waste any time especially when many people forget or something comes up. You also have 3 days to cancel an appt after signing the contract and the person you speak to is in only mon-fri from 10-4., which I advise you to think about your doubts beford you sign the contract anyways. This is standard for anyone to do when being binded by law, to see if you can afford it or want them before so... I hope I cleared some thing up for the viewers :) read more

I am surprised to see negative comments here at all, but at least it is with the sales technique, not the product. I didn't come here to leave a review but this came up when I was looking up the phone number. My windows were installed in 2000 and I love them. I have two smaller windows which are normal size for most homes, the rest are overly large. The two smaller ones fold down for cleaning. The pieces that are in the frame that allow it to tilt wear out after a dozen years (weather) so I need to have them replaced. The one time I called years ago was because I found one window pane in a seldom used room broken one day. Majic came right out and replaced it at no cost. At the same time we did the window replacement, we had them do a tub surround. Couldn't be more pleased. It's still like new, even the caulk is still snow white. The windows and tub are so easy to maintain. Both the tub surround and whole house window replacement projects were cleaned up after so well, you wouldn't know anyone had been there. (Except for beautiful much needed updates!) I got a call a couple of months ago from Majic from a gentleman who introduced himself as new to the company and is supposed to be turning things around there. I hope people do not get discouraged by the bad reviews I see here from fours years ago, but give Majic an opportunity to quote your updating project. read more

If I could give a negative review I would. Long story short, salesman/con artist, came to my mom's house (who is in her late 70s) and sells her new windows. This is in 09/2018, states they can be in the house by 10/2018. Never outlines the storage fee once the windows are produced. She calls every few weeks to the company, no replies to her messages. Fast forward, 2019, January. She's complaining to the rep, and the company itself that the windows weren't delivered as promised and she's reversing the charge on her credit card. Her credit card complies, as the windows have not been installed, or ordered yet. She's leaving town for a month, starting 2nd week of February. Suddenly, Majic can install them the day after she leaves and it's HER fault they won't be able to fulfill their shoddy ass timing system. So she'll now be charged storage fees until the company can bring the windows out. Since the agreement was legally binding, May 17, 2019 they are finally installed. June 13, 2019 they send a threatening letter to her house demanding installation, money, and claiming that my mother has been refusing their phone calls. If that little story doesn't correctly outline their customer service or techniques on how they sell their product, I'm not sure what will. Also, when I contacted the lawyer's office, they "weren't sure" why the letter was sent out. Wonderful. read more

Once again today 6/5/2019 Katy from. Majic Window on Beck road called me, told they had the new bubblers in for the walk jet tub my 96yr old mother in law for her 7000.00 broken tub. Apparently she had no idea their installer replaced to days ago with defected one or wrong one who knows? I do know a couple she was supposed to call back within the hour , and never did wasted my time. She was in formed we tried the tub that night smelled something burning and this new bubbler went out. This company shouldn't exist , they take your money run hide and their warranty and it's department a joke. I've read many terrible reviews on these people. After having my time wasted again, I spent a productive day talking to fellow UAW members from different plants at the big 3, they've kindly decided to put a communication out asking it's members and family's not to use Majic Window, espically their elderly family members. Recently moved to the area with a career change and bought a house that needed a bit of work. After getting the roof and floors straightened away, my wife and I got on the windows. I always thought windows were windows and that you bought wood windows (and painted them) or you bought white vinyl/plastic windows and painted them, but my wife was told by our new neighbors that Majic Windows had fiberglass windows that could come in almost any color we needed without having to paint them. She was sold on that alone, and so was I after I got the quote and compared the numbers. I only dealt with windows being installed once before, while back home in Indiana, but the experience with Majic WIndows was pleasantly better than what I experienced back then. Majic did not leave us a huge mess to clean up and handled their job with total professionalism. We only had 5 windows replaced, but plan on calling Majic back to complete the rest next year. I am completely satisfied with Majic Window products, labor, service, and warranty. Today, their team did an outstanding job of installing 4 bedroom and one full bathroom window in second story colonial. Their workers were very professional in showing courtesy, patience, answering any questions I asked, and doing thorough, neat cleanup outside and inside, while working diligently on the job for over three hours. In the past, Majic also installed all new first floor windows in the living room, dining room, and kitchen with the same quality workmanship and professional care. They also replaced my roof several years ago, exercising the same attention to detailed, thorough workmanship, using excellent products, and conscientious service while completing the job. I received three quotes to replace 4 large windows with single casement windows. Magic Windows was the highest. The reason I went with them was the hid a screen, steel insides & 40 year warranty. The install went well, they spent more time than they estimated due to the age of the house. 2 Windows were over 100 years old. They did a great job and the finishing work was amazing. Very professional. As for the windows, it was better than I expected. 1 window just has the bud screen. 2 windows has the bug and sun shade. 1 window had all three-bug/shade/black out. Looking back I would have done all three shades for all four windows. Highly recommend them. (ps: So sorry to her person who had an afternoon appointment. My house should have been only 1/2 a days work. It was my fault, not Magic Windows. They stayed and finished the work until 6pm in the rain). read more

Marshall and his crew showed up at 10 am and worked diligently and steadily till 3 pm. taking out the old window and installing the new Fiberglas windows and doorwalls (2 doorwalls and 11 windows). They cleaned up everything and hauled out any refuse and the old windows. The whole crew was very polite and were careful going in and out of the house. We will see tonight how sound proof they will be with the expressway near by. We will also find out about efficiency for summer cooling and winter heating over the next several months. Marshall went through each window and doorwall for operation modes and also informed me about the ticket to send into the gas company for a small rebate. While we know we could have beat the price of our roof installation, it was the demeanor and disposition of George and the very quick relational capacity that we were able to build caused us to go with MAJIC. I'm a single Mom and was looking for a reputable company to install blown-in insulation in my home. I searched high and low, got a few quotes and am so happy I went with Majic. So I was looking for replacement windows and clicked on Majic Windows first and filled out the Free Estimate on the side just for fun because its not like companies ever get back to you, and wouldn't you know it, they did! The next day! . I talked with Kenny and he helped me find the perfect window that would help with energy efficiency and looked great with my house. To be honest the whole experience was so wonderful i want to replace all of my windows in the spring! They have proven themselves unreliable, incompetent, unprofessional in every aspect you can imagine. My dad got windows installed through Majic window. He really liked the professionalism of Mike P. that offered him to get a free estimate. My father and I were both present for the estimate (he had a stroke so I help him often). We really appreciate the representative that gave the estimate as he went slow and made sure my father understood everything. He was very patient. The installers were great and helped move anything to prep for the install. We like that Majic does a follow up with Janice. We would recommend. My parents are a little technologically challenged so they asked me to write a review for them because my family is very pleased with our new Majic windows. It seems like some people on here have had some less than stellar experiences with sales reps. Maybe those reps are no longer with the company? Everyone we met was extremely helpful and friendly. We didn't feel any pressure at all in the sales process. The price was right, the installation went smoothly and the new windows are awesome! We are now on our third window failure since installation in January. Each window suddenly dumps water inside the house into our maple floors, and water and wood floors do not go well together. Because the leaking windows are on three different sides of our home, obviously the windows were not correctly installed in some way. We have been waiting for repairs for more than 90 days. A lifetime guarantee has zero value if it is not honored. I fear we have wasted the $31,000 we spent on defective windows. read more

Have replaced all our home's windows in 5 stages. Unfortunately, went cheap on the 1st stage, using a competitor, but Majic the rest of the way. So, obviously, we've gone back 3 times. The fiberglass have held up well - much, MUCH better than the vinyls we got as our first replacements and the home's original wood. Styles were done to match the rest of the house, and easy to order/reorder to match the other stages. Augustine has given us the most recent quote and contract - excellent to work with and has handled all our questions/needs. read more

TERRIBLE! Do not do business with Majic Windows . The foundation of this corporation is to scam as many suckers as possible. Most of the Door-to-Door salesmen are scammers with felonies on their record ( how else do they smooth talk so well, because they were in prison ). Their Office Staff; is rude & unprofessional; I.E. Monica the financial consultant; was very rude. Bryan was dropping F bombs threatening me to come up to the office in Wixom.
