I heard about this place and decided to try it out. I ordered a dragon fruit acai bowl (I think that's what it was.) payed for it and took a seat. Seeing that there was 3 orders ahead of mine I expected it to take longer. After I seen the orders being handed to customers I noticed that a couple got their order before I got mine. In total that was about 20 mins. I continued to wait patiently and, I think it was the owner, a woman had asked if I ordered something. After telling her I did she got really upset at her workers and said "This gentleman has been waiting forever! Where is his order?" All of them jumped up scrambling to know what my order was and made it as fast as they could. After I finished I decided to get a drink, worker decided to give me 50% off on the drink because they forgot my order. Good: Food was good, presentation was great, Friendliness was also good, Ambience was relaxing. Things that people might not like: Prices. It can get pricey there. Also finding a parking spot. Now to all you Yelpers: keep in mind that this is a local business and it is using locally grown produce! You are supporting local businesses thrive and not the big corporations. You are paying for the local produce, the presentation of the food/drinks. You are paying for stuff that is LOCALLY grown, understand that farmers here in Hawai'i will not sell their products for cheap. If you do all the math this place is fairly priced. That is why I said "Things people might not like." I forgive them because it is better to do so than hold a grudge. Everyone makes mistakes. Support this local business, try their good food/drinks. I forgot to ask though that if their produce that they use is organic. (If it is then that's a plus!) read more

Can I just say that I am so happy to have found this little gem of a establishment. I heard about through social media and never seemed to get the opportunity to stop in. Well this morning, after a trip to the locavore store just around the corner the significant other and I both stopped in. First impression was great. I was able to spot it driving by without problems. The decor really hits home and the music definitely sets the mood. I love the colors but its important that things were simple and not to busy. I love that the menu isn't overwhelming. My favorite motto...KISS (Keep it simple stupid). I ordered the Gorilla Bowl and can I just say HOLY F&^(K. That thing was delicious. The boyfriend ordered the Pulled Pork sandwhich with sweet potato chips. It was just as good but I have to say the chips were my personal favorite. We also splurged on the cold pressed juices. MUST TRY THE Dragon's Blood. Needless to say I can't wait to come back and try some more items. I think I found my new favorite lunch spot. PS. I inquired about open employment positions to which I was disappointed to hear that these employees only get minimum wage. They require masks and hand sanitizer when entering but one of the workers isn't even wearing the mask properly. It is fairly unorganized causing long wait times. The food was good, but the inefficiency of the workers was disappointing. read more

Unicone for the win... I've been here 3 times and each time I only got the unicone but it tastes amazing. Pretty quick service, small but nice little place. This place is pretty good! The only thing that sucked was that the line was really long and the wait for my order was pretty long for just two soft serves. Unfortunately the ube soft serve was out of season (they should really make it a permanent flavor because it's so popular) however I ordered the dole whip soft serve for myself and my friend. Perfect stop for ice cream and iced coffees. Lots to choose from and a friendly staff. I wish I had realized they specialized in açaí bowls! I was already so full from lunch I didn't order one. Very busy place. Stopped in for a smoothie - first visit to the big island - and asked them for just a pineapple and mango smoothie. The server leaned over the counter and said, since you eliminated some ingredients we can't remake it for you. I told her I wouldn't ask you too - and it seemed like a simple request. I can't remember the name but we ordered a smoothie with mango, pineapple, passionfruit, ginger and turmeric. I was expecting the flavors of the fruit to mask the spices, but unfortunately the smoothie had a very strong aftertaste. It's probably just me but I was not a fan. Decided to get the mason jar sundae. It cost me 16 dollars for the smallest mason jar. I think the guy over charged me. It was supposed to be 12 I believe. The ice cream was alright. Tasted like meadow Goldie cream just with lots of whip cream and salt on it. Left there feeling like I wouldn't go back. Went back because the owner personally contacted us. The owner Loki said we will get a full refund and get something on the house. We ended up getting the lava flow. The lava flow is really good. Has its own twist compared to other lava flows. Taste really fresh. I like how the owner personally contacted us. And greeted is as we got into the store to apologize for the mistake. But I understand because it's a new restaurant. I saw this place listed before I arrived in Hilo but had to wait until my companion left because I am embarrassed to love dessert so much at my age. I'm basically a 6 year old when it comes to sweets. Unlike the six year old who came in with her mother who wanted her to get something with kale in it, my mother is long deceased so I'm an id gone wild like the people who probably own this. Now there are some drinks pretty drinks with kale and purple potato but I bet they have sugar in them. I got a cocoa macadamia coffee frappe because I was going to be driving. It was lovely and pleasant to sit there near the menu and enjoy the scene. This is going to be a bright spot in your day whether it's raining or not. Service was good, I got there soon after it opened and it was raining so no crowd, but more people came in as appropriate ice cream eating time approached.
