Florida roll no salmon extra crab
    Melinda H.

This was the worst sushi restaurant I have ever been too. First off the minute you walk through the door it smells like sewage. I should've left then. Okay then we order 1 roll it was called the Florida roll. We substituted the salmon for extra crab. We split the roll and I think we ate 2 pieces out of the whole roll. It tastes like mayo. It was not good at all. We also ordered eel sauce which was not that. It was thick like paste and brown. Then we ordered the spicy mayo and it tasted like straight mayo. Anyway 10/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Maki Boy is everything you want in a simple Asian meal. The portions are huge, the food is excellent, and the entire place smells awesome! The fried rice dishes might need a pinch of salt or msg, but the textures, flavors, and oils are wonderful. The spicy pork might be the best thing on the menu. Tofu costs $3 extra as of November 2023, but there are vegetarian dishes even without tofu. Service is pretty lacking but that's their business model. You have to order at the front, then find a table in a very small area, and a cook will bring out your food. Nobody will ever check how you're doing minus water refills. That aside, it's an excellent place and I'd eat here any time!

What a beautiful surprise! At first glance, I didn't think our experience was going to be fantastic, but what an incredible evening. The ambiance. The service. The food. All of it was amazing! The ordering process was great, but would've love to see a menu sooner rather than at the counter. Seating is first come first served, but service was fast and helped turned tables. Food was fresh, tasty and honestly a hidden delight! We will be back!

The service was nice and they have unlimited side broccoli and cucumber, which the broccoli tasted pretty good with a hint of peanut butter. I don't think their chicken bowl worth a try at all. However, their price is extremely good for the quality of their sushi. The sushi was tasty and filling.

OMG!!! You must go!! So so good. People are very nice. Very small and intimate. Usually a pretty good crowd too. I had California roll and shrimp tempura roll and Bolgogi. Amazing

Oh Maki Boy how you've fallen. The past 2 times I've ordered, you have not met your previous delicious standard. The gyoza was flat, soggy, and lukewarm. I wasn't impressed with the quality of fish used on the rainbow roll. I order the same thing pretty much every time, and the issues are the same. It makes me sad.

We LOVE sushi and Makiboy has some amazing rolls!! We loved the Shimp Fire roll and the monster roll. Also had the spicy pork bulgogi and spicy chicken ramen which were fantastic. Also super quick service!

Went to Maki Boy the other day! We got kimchi fried rice and an eel dish. I really enjoyed the eel dish. The flavor was very good. The kimchi fried rice was good but I thought it would be better topped with sriracha. (Sriracha costs extra) I will definitely go again and try some other dishes!

The best sushi in town, no question! The staff is typically nice unless you go too close to closing and then they can get a little rude, understandably I guess. The music in the restaurant itself is WAY too loud so my husband and I usually just order to go!

Sushi was great! I got the rainbow roll and it was huge! Great deal, and great service to go.

I have been here twice now and have ordered the short ribs both times. They are delicious. They tasted exactly the same as the first time I I ordered them. The beef fried rice was so good. When I walked in, the place was empty. I stood at the "Please wait to be seated" sign for way longer than necessary--especially since there were no other customers. I finally peeked in and saw two employees busy counting receipts and money at the register. (Bad Impression #1). After being seated, I was actually enjoying the music until I felt something sticky on my forearm. It was a stray bean sprout left on the table (Bad Impression #2). To make matters worse, the tables are incredibly low. Even at my height, I had to hunch over the entire time. I eventually gave up on table manners and just held the rice bowl up to my face to eat comfortably. Regarding the food: it was a bit salty. The kimchi fried rice was average, but the kimchi stew really missed the mark. That was the moment I realized this is a fusion spot, not authentic Korean. It wasn't horrible, but it's definitely different from the real thing. BUT, can we talk about the massive portions? (Good Impression #1). Everything is clearly meant to be shared. The service was actually good. They have a buzzer on the table for service, which I loved. It saves you from having to track down a waiter. (Good Impression #2). The ambiance is loud, poppy, and "hip." You better like K-pop if you're coming here. It's not a first-date spot because it's hard to hear each other, but it's a solid place to hang out with friends who like the genre. Will I come back? Not actively. But if someone else suggests it, I won't fight them on it.

You place your order on a electronic tablet. We ordered the Sizzling Lau Sausage, Crispy Zaap Wings, Pad Kee Mao and the Mango Sticky Rice. We ordered all of our items to go. All of our items were out of this world fantastic but I have to give a big ole shout out for that MANGO STICKY RICE! This was first time to have it and my husband and I both enjoyed. You can tell this is very popular for lunch for folks who work in the area. I can understand why. All of the food is so fresh and piping hot. Oh and the chalkboard art is MAGNIFICENT!!!! I love it so much that i took more pictures of that than our food! I did, however, get a pic of the mango sticky rice because I had to try it immediately when we got back. WOWOWOWOWOWWWW! We stopped by on a Sunday on July 5. It was packed even at 2:30 pm but that is a good thing because food was moving. I was pleasantly surprised that it was a better looking on the inside than it was on the outside. It had a cafeteria feel and several customers have complained about the worn seats and tables. It was fine by us since we knew this was not fine dining, They had plenty of hot items and the temperatures were pretty hot for the hot item preventing germ spread. I did not dare to try the cold items such as the sushi, sashimi, and raw oysters. Other customers have fared fine. The food was tasty but it also a place of gluttony. The one off putting thing was that when I went to bathroom, someone had thrown up in the sink. I pushed on because this was not the restaurant's fault. Some folks complain that they charge for toddlers. I did not mind because their prices were so low, I was wondering how they were making a profit. I returned to the bathroom later, and this time, someone had thrown up on the floor. The staff was cleaning all of this mess rather quickly. This is place of gluttony as customers stuffed their faces. Chances are that they had been in the sun and drank a little too much alcohol before they came. It was interesting experience since most of the customers seemed to be Mexican and African Immigrants. I liked the vibe of the place even though I was a little cautious at first. Go check it out of you have an open mind and aren't grossed out easily. I am not sure if I will return, but I am glad I at least tried this place out.
