I've been very curious to check out this café because I recently learned about the wonderful work…read morethey do in the community. The cafe sits on a busy corner on NE Glisan and is a newer structure with lots of windows. The person waiting on me benefited from their barista training program. They were friendly and served as a great ambassador for their overall mission. The prices were competitive and their baked goods were tasty. I didn't realize until I was leaving, but they also have breakfast items. That will be for next time! They have a clean and accessible restroom and parking was not a problem. It's also conveniently located on a bus line. I will definitely return and support their mission.

Their official grand opening is in early June, but the innovative space has opened its doors to local businesses for a soft launch in the North Montavilla neighborhood. I love the concept behind Stone Soup and I strongly believe in their mission of "building economic stability for people experiencing barriers to employment." They've been operating for several years in another location, and already have a strong track record of changing lives. This Montavilla location allows their trainees experience with public-facing food service in a cafe setting, serving a wide variety of breakfast and lunch options - in addition to coffee and tea. There was a limited menu available during the soft launch today, but I thoroughly enjoyed my slice of banana cake with cream cheese frosting, as well as a steaming cup of fresh coffee. The interior space offers bar and table seating, and visitors will find even more seating outside. The cafe is a cornerstone business on the first floor of the new Glisan Landing residential complex, and it marks the beginning of a new age of development in this part of Portland. Three cheers for making a positive impact in the community, thank you!

Our meals have been tasty, and the portion size options provide for every level of need. We have appreciated the staff's willingness to help introduce us to new menu items, with a special shout-out for the Kalua Pork, Teriaki Chicken, Pear Paradise, and the special Coconut Cake that was available during one of our visits. This is one of our favorite spots on a sunny day for great food and time on their outdoor patio. Thanks again to the Noho's Team!

I tried this place a couple years back and I did not care for it. A friend asked me about this…read moreplace. I didn't want to give him a bad impression from an interaction from years ago. So I decided to head back and try it again. This is purely the opinion of a local Hawaiian. The actual review: Overall the resturant had a good vibe. Staff was very welcoming. Our server was very helpful in making my decision of the menu. Korean Mix plate was recomended as it was a top seller. I overall enjoyed the meal the portions were huge! So defintely come hungry or prepared for left overs. I will say the Chicken wasn't my favorite. It was bad but didn't wow me. The Kalbi (short ribs) were really tasting and very tender. If you like Garlic the korean style food is for you. Pupu Platter: It's a sampler platter is a great way to try a couple things. The Mochicko Chicken was pretty good. Never had it in strips but overall tasted good. The Kalua Pig Egg Rolls were not my favorite. I foudn the Kalua pig very bland. Hamburger Steak: This was pretty good. The gravy was on point and who doesn't love grilled onions? The only thing I had about the burgers was they were a little tough and a little over cooked. made it a bit like bricks.
