This is a great laid back neighborhood bar. The prices are good. The tater tots were nice and crispy and their ranch is super good. All the pride flags also make it a very welcoming environment.

Service is ok. Mid afternoon not many here. Prices are not bad at all. The food is really good. This burger is huge and really tasty. Nice dive bar ambiance that I love.

    It's a sign!

This is a perfect dive bar. The food is delicious (highly recommend the BLT w turkey and the chicken fingers). The drinks are strong and reasonably priced. Always a good selection of beers available. A round of pudding shots is a must if anyone in your group is celebrating something... or you're just in the mood for dessert. The wall to wall carpet reminds you "you're in a dive bar" and keeps snobs at bay. Is it weird to say that the "regular culture" is better at the MCT? I swear this place attracts a high caliber of well behaved, experienced drinkers; people are friendly and unpretentious and, look, the drinks are strong, but still the patrons are rarely a hot mess and I've never witnessed any drama. The bartenders are chatty if you're looking for a chat, and it's pretty common to see strangers strike up a conversation over cigarettes out back. There's an LGBTQ flag flying and planned parenthood job ads hanging in the bathrooms. There are sports on TV if you're into that and video poker if you're into that, but as someone who's into neither I don't find that either dominates the scene. As a regular who comes in once or twice a week, most of the bartenders know my order by heart, and all of them are super friendly. The service is quick and reliable. Love to hang out in the back on a nice summer day, love to cozy up in the bar on a cold winter night. No judgment from the staff if my partner and I spend a couple hours nursing a couple of drinks. Sometimes the music is terrible, but I find that adds to the coziness -- feels like going to hang out at a friend's house and having to listen to whatever crap they like. No kids and no dogs allowed. Poker Wednesdays fills up the bar during the winter when the backyard isn't an option. MCT is a treasure. So grateful to have it in the neighborhood and hope it never changes.

It's out towards St Johns. It's summer, Saturday Night. A Blues Band is playing, Local dive bar. Nice patio out back. Local beer on tap. Doesn't get better. Worth checking out.

The clam chowder was amazing. Not too thick and there were lots of clam. It also was not too heavy and salty. The portion was very reasonable, too. I loved it! I asked them to have the seafood grilled and they did a good job. It had oysters, cod, shrimp and scallops. Everything was nice and the shrimp and scallop combo had a nice and bold flavor. I wish I had some rice or pasta to soak up the rest of the sauce. It was delicious. I stole a few waffle fries from my dad and they were fried nicely! I enjoyed it! If I ever come over here, I'll def. drop by. Keep in mind: they only during lunch time on FRIDAYS. Otherwise, they open during dinner time-only.

There is quite a bit of room on the outside patio, community tables though so keep that in mind. Service was good, the bartender was the server for the patio on the day we visited. We didn't see her a ton, but that was fine with us - when we did she was friendly and helpful. We got their veggie burger with fries, and the black bean quesadilla. The veggie burger was excellent (it's a Field Roast patty), the fries were ahhh-mazing and tasty. The quesadilla had SO much cheese it had all glopped together on the plate, and I had to eat it with a knife a fork. Now if you've read any of my reviews, there is no such things as too much cheese (normally). This. had. too. much. cheese. I could not separate the slices of the quesadilla, at all. It was like a multilayer pizza. The only problem, aside from my waistline, is that with THAT much cheese all I tasted was cheese. Couldn't taste the beans, tortilla, pico - just cheese. So I drowned it in cholula just to get something out of it. Perhaps it was an off day - and again, I wouldn't normally ding something with too much cheese - but geeeez.

As Google+ will attest, with their over 100 5.0 star reviews, this is really good fish and chips! The cod is amazingly fresh and has that almost nutty flavor that fresh off the boat and line caught fish can have. The batter is crisp and not oily at all, which is an accomplishment in and of itself, as many of our most popular f&c carts might deliver wonderful fish in a crispy crust, but absolutely LOADED with oily oily OIL after being twice-fried. The tots, which used to be at the olympics-level of interest here in PDX, are really great too! I was in Portland for 36hrs and wanted some fried seafood and chowder as you should when you're in the PNW! Came across this place and decide to check it out. They're located in an enclosed lot with a variety of food trucks and they are the only fried fish place that I saw. Upon arrival, there was no line, but waited about 7-mins before the guy working came to take our order. We decided to get a "fish & shrimp basket" and although they don't actually offer it, I was told it was ok and we would have shrimp. I paid and was handed a remote that buzzes when the food is done. After about 40-45 minutes, I walked up to the truck to see what the hold up was and was told, "almost done!" I nodded and smiled and sat back down. After another 15-mins, I went back up to check again, and same thing. Finally after over an hour, our food was ready! Got back to my table and noticed I had no shrimp! So, I had to go back up to let him know and had to wait another 15-mins and he only gave me (5) shrimp! So, long wait time & wrong order, with no remorse! I know something was wrong when the burger place next to them were putting out 10-15 orders for everyone one order our fish place was putting out. In the case of the food...?! The food is delicious - a 5/5 for sure, but this rating is for the overall experience. I would have prefer to be told that the wait would be X number of minute and I then could have decided to order it go elsewhere. The fish was very good, but those shrimps are a must have! We spent a total of $34 and that was with the tip. I would say a little bit over what I think I should have paid, especially for the hassle. I will give them another chance and hopefully I can change this rating!

Intentionally set earlier in the day understanding the significance of the day. (Been together over 20 years.) When we arrived my husband kindly requested a window table with view of the water. The woman taking the reservation info advised that she would try, but "so busy" etc. We were sat at a half circular booth that was facing water but set back from water. I just want to note there were 7 tables open at window seating. 3 of which were 2 tops. We did have 3, so essentially for us, 4 EMPTY tables could have accommodated our request. 2 remained empty the entirety of our meal. So I just can't understand why this request wouldn't be granted. Waitress we were assigned was amazing. On top of things, refills etc. We got the wing appetizer, cheese curds, and the wedge salad as appetizers. They were all good. The wings I would get with no sauce. The sauce on them was very ketchup reminiscent. For the entrees we both did the steak frites. Fries were amazing. The steak was sooooo tough. Medium rare didn't save them. Our child got the half pizza and demolished. For dessert we got the cookie with ice cream and the valentines special cheesecake. Both were delicious. Overall 3.5. Could use some help at front. If you don't realize you have that many free tables and could easily accommodate a paying customer the table they prefer, it just simply doesn't make sense. At the end, I did ask manager why we wouldn't be able to sit where we requested and there really was just no good reason. It was just a shrug like it was a busy day. Like I guess maybe saving for make believe guests?? LOL unreal. It's not often I would question things. But this was just absurd. Again, I need to say, our waitress was amazing. Food was fine. Just a very weird experience as far as seating. Like who are you saving those seats for?? Anywho. Enjoy!
