A great local spot for Thai food! Staff here is incredible kind, attentive, and welcoming to their guests. Service was quick and they have tons of wonderful dishes to choose from. I ordered the Thai Noodles, as was recommended to me by the waitress, and she did not lead me astray. You can choose from either egg or rice noodles, and it comes with your choice of meat (or tofu), piled high with veggies, and covered in their delicious green curry sauce. First time here. Ordered pad thai chicken, pad thai tofu, massaman curry, and red curry to go. The person at the counter was touching her nose in an unsanitary way. I hope she doesn't handle food. So this is maybe my 4th or 5th time trying this spot since I moved on this end of town, over the span of a few years. I was never wooed enough to write a review but after my last order , I have to say, it was review worthy. I am a huge fan of Thai food and have tried hundreds of spots across the United States and even in Thailand. So when I say I am a critic, I am a critic. Tonight we won't with the Pad Thai and Malai fried rice. By looks there was nothing special, but the flavor was really surprising tonight. The rice looked like it was going to be mushy, but it wasn't. I am glad I was able to experience what I had read in so many other reviews. The restaurant is located on a busy main street with some parking along the building on the side street. The interior decor has a nice personality. It's unfortunate that the dinner meal for the red curry not only costs more, but doesn't some with rice. I got the red curry with crispy chicken, it's a must to get a side of rice, to absorb the curry. The curry has a nice creamy taste and the crispy chicken is the perfect combo. Lots of great reviews here I see but I wasn't all that impressed. My husband and I ordered two different dishes but basically they were the same thing just different meat and different sauce. The presentation of the food was very nice. We were the only ones in there the whole time but they did have a big table for Grub Hub, etc so they might do big take out orders. Great reviews here but I wasn't that impressed but probably I ordered the wrong food. We ordered Thai satay beef, Thai wings, crab rangoon, hot and sour soup with chicken, and spicy lime pork. The satay beef was flavorful but the peanut sauce was too watery and the cucumber sauce was bland. The Thai wings seem over fried and still juicy but the sauce is too salty but my friend said too sweet. Nothing special for the crab rangoon but is my favorite. Hot and sour soup does not taste like tom yum soup in other Thai restaurants, considered bland. Probably tum tom talay is similar but the ingredients are a little different from tom yum. Last, the spicy pork lime salad is refreshing and spicy because of the raw garlic and chili. We probably will come back again to order the dishes that we usually ordered at other Thai restaurants. read more

After hearing so many good things about this place we decided to give this place a try. We ordered the Pad Thai with beef and Mansaman Curry with chicken and a side of white rice. We ordered for pick up and the lady was quick and friendly. We were estimated for 15 minutes. When we got there, there was parking on the right side of the restaurant. We were the only ones in the parking lot so we didn't have any problems with finding a parking spot. Mansaman Curry is literally my go to order at any Thai place. In my opinion, you can't really go wrong with Mansaman curry... Malai Tai Restaurant's Mansaman curry was good but super watery which isn't my favorite. Besides the curry being super run down with water, I have no other complaints. The Pad Thai with beef was delicious and flavorful- exactly what we wanted. Great Thai local spot in the South Shore Area. They have limited parking off to the side. Not too big of a restaurant but has the essentials just like the menu. Pretty decent Thai food in Randolph. The server is super friendly. There weren't any dine ins when we went on a Wednesday but plenty of people coming in and out for takeout. We ordered the Scallion Pancake, Pad Thai, Crispy Pad Thai and Pad Ki Mao(Drunken Noodles). The scallion pancake was tasty. It was nice and crispy. The Pad Thais we're both good-the crispy chicken was perfectly fried. Pad Ki Mao was a little spicy for me. Forgot to request less spicy/wasn't asked what spice level i wanted. I came here for dinner tonight with a couple of other people and we all enjoyed a delicious meal. For appetizers we got the Thai Rolls, Chicken Satay and an order of Crab Rangoon. All three of the appetizers were very delicious and fresh tasting. For the main meal we got the Thai Garden which consists of steamed chicken, steamed vegetables which included zucchini, summer squash, carrots, green beans, onions and broccoli. This dish also comes with a Thai peanut sauce which is very delicious. We also got an order of the Malai fried rice with shrimp. It had carrots, onions and peas included in it and was also very good as well. The portion sizes were great and were enough to feed the three of us. For dessert I got the Thai Custard and the other two who were with me ordered the Fried Ice Cream. I did notice on their menu that most of their items went up in price by a dollar or two but the food is very good here and it is worth every penny. The restaurant is always kept very clean and is always immaculate. The waitress here is very sweet and since I come here often she always knows exactly what I want (extra peanut sauce and such) so I rarely ever have to ask her for anything, she just brings it to me automatically. I have been coming here for over twenty years and have never been disappointed. I will continue to be a longtime customer. read more

For the price, you also get a lot of food. I always say quality over quantity, but when you get both, it's pretty much heaven. So far I have tried their Pad Thai and Kua Gai. I've personally never been a big fan of Pad Thai (wide noodles) and ordered it on a whim. I don't know what, but their Pad Thai noodles were cooked to perfection. Perfectly chewy, but not slippery. They added a LOT of vegetables, which I think is also what made their Pad Thai stand out. I also tried the Kua Gai (thin noodles). It was equally tasty, but lacked variety in veggies. Also, if you use UberEats, try to catch them during one of the promotional periods. I've seen them offered at free/reduced delivery fees quite often. read more

There is a carpet all in the dining area and it makes the area look a bit dated. We came around 2:50, and there was only one server which was a bit odd since there seemed to be a lunch menu we could have took part in if she came back to us on time or if there was more than one person, but no biggie. I got pad Thai with Shrimp and chicken, with a touch of spice. It was so good! The pad Thai was a bit sticky, not what I'm used to, but I kid you not, it was top 5 best pad Thais I've ever had! Surrounded by shopping plazas in Randolph, you are not sure what to expect from Malai based on its exterior. From the outside, you might think this place has a bar and offers Keno. That is so the opposite! Once you walk in, it is so charming (as if you weren't in Randolph anymore.. hehehe). I am surprised this place isn't always busy. It's a great atmosphere for a date, girls get together, etc. We tested the place out first with takeout weeks before and decided it passed the test so we went for dinner over the weekend. The Tom Yum soup was good, not great. It had plenty of fresh mushrooms which my fiancé loves. My biggest issue is that I like my soup hot and it was lukewarm. I guess I could have sent it back to get heated but I just dealt. The thai iced teas were OK, I probably like them a little bit stronger and sweeter. The crab Rangoon appetizer had a very nice presentation and were tasty but I'd prefer a bit more filling like the Chinese takeout ones. We both got wide flat rice noodle dishes.. I think I actually liked my fiancé's better as I like more saucy noodles but both were good. We were both stuffed from the apps so after a few bites we got them wrapped up. They were just as good as leftovers (with these types of noodles, they key is to properly reheat by slow heating in the microwave or better yet, on the stove top covered on low and add a little bit of water). If you need a respite from the hustle and bustle of the area, stop by for a nice meal. This is a great option especially if you want a nice sit down place vs the many fast food/fast causal dining options. read more

As other reviewers have mentioned, the crab rangoon looks dainty and cute, but they're on the small side and the cream cheese filling is bland. Also, the Tom Yum soup had lots of mushroom but it lacked flavor. The fried rice was okay, but the pad thai was a bit too sweet. This was surprising because my Thai friend who recommended this place to me said that the pad thai here is cooked Thai-style: not so sweet. But this wasn't the case. This place was recommended to us so we came here last Saturday late morning/early afternoon for some food. I ordered the chicken pad thai and bae ordered the shrimp pad thai. It was okay, I definitely was not impressed. I felt like there was no dimension to the food it all seemed to be beige-ish color with a few sprigs of green. I mean it tasted okay, a little too sweet for me, so it wasn't awful but it honestly wasn't worth going back either. I was a little grumpy about it - my bf seemed to be okay with it he literally finished his food and picked at mine but he also just might have been very hungry. Anyway, I think its all relative. There isn't a lot of good food in this town and I'm apparently sometimes a "city snob" so for what Randolph has to offer this is a decent place. The restaurant was a little dated with wood panelling and its a little musty. Since I've moved to Randolph.. I've been wanting to try out this place. There aren't that many Thai restaurants in Randolph. The environment is nice...looks clean too. I came on Thursday with my husband for dinner. The restaurant was empty with just another couple finishing up their food. There were a few people that came in for pick up. The menu doesn't have much.. rice plates options doesn't appeal to me at all. I got the seafood noodle soup (forgot the name on the menu but there's really only one). It was MEH. I could have made that at home. Instant noodle actually tasted better than this. It was bland and not at all what I expected. I should have went for a rice plate which is a safer choice. My husband picked his safe plate, pad Thai. He liked it. It's not overly sweet like certain places. It doesn't come with peanuts (like the pictures posted) or a lime. Portion isn't bad. Thai iced tea was also good; not overly sweet. I would try this place again but I'll have to be picky with what I get next time. read more
