The couple of times I have been here, the food was really good, with plenty of options, whether you are craving for meat, which I have you recommend, or other menu items like pasta. The service was pretty good, I had no issues over raw, the restaurant is very big, so seating is never going to be an issue. I absolutely love the Argentina pride that this restaurant displayed during the World Cup. Vibes inside the restaurant is always high.

Are you searching for almost authentic comida de Portenos. A non-stop flight to Buenas Aires (about 12 hours) and you could be digging into your perfect Parrillada at Estilo Campo. Definitely worth the hassle. Or you could endure a 2 hour slog up the 5 Fwy (which makes the 12 hour flight sound good) and enjoy excellent Argentine cuisine here. Then when you get there, parking is not just a challenge, it's a mystery. Street parking only so prepare to be creative and lucky. The vintage building is attractive. Pitted carved concrete and Malibu tiles. Step inside and be greeted by a genuine warm smile and and someone that is happy to see you, and if your luck is holding the Host will invite you to a take a short shuffle to a huge booth where you can make a comfy nest. The Decor is a charcoal gray box with a dining room filled with 2 and 4 tops, a communal table or two, a private dining room and a curbside patio if you insist. Malbec is a perfect place to celebrate a Quinceanera, a non-Kosher Bar Mitzvah, a Golden Shower Retirement, a Gender Reveal, a Gender Conceal or that your substandard Insurance Co. will actually pay for your GPL-1 meds which you might need after over eating great food here. The patio outside is good if the tango loop inside is too loud, but then you're just trading that for unmuffled mufflers and exhaust fumes. At 5:00 PM it's just you and the Chorizo Sampler which is worth it's weight in Statins. The place reinvents itself by 8:00 PM when the chatter ratchets up and the dining room becomes a B. A. Social Club. The din of diners bounces around the room like a soccer ball at a Fifa Match. (Argentina is the reigning champion). The Staff: Rosa is delightful. A girl that never says no and someone who knows how to pull up the reins and spur the pony (read take charge and enhance your experience). The Bar: This long counter anchors the room and delivers what ever your poison might be. The Food: Malbec boasts a huge menu and all of it is good to great. Within minutes of settling in a Runner runs up to your table and sets down a basket of warm Bread with a cup of Chimichurri Sauce to dunk dip, drag and/on dredge your Bread in. The Malbec Salad was large enough to feed everyone in the Recoleta at sundown. Fresh Romaine, Radicchio, Goat Cheese crumbles, a hand carved Avocado fan (I'm a big fan of that), quartered Cucumber Coins, Frisee Lettuce, a sizable slice of toasted Bread, the large mound is mixed with a Caesar-ish Dressing and the whole pile is fresh, refreshing, tasty and a great dish to begin your dinner with. The menu is ambitious to say the least. Heroic lists of Appetizers, Pastas, Pizza, Mains, Seafood, Steaks, Sides, Sauces and Desserts. The Kitchen is fearless because they know they can crank out everything on the menu properly. And you know, they can. I opted for Pollo Las Hierbas (Herb Roasted Chicken), spatchcocked (back cone removed and the whole half Chicken squashed flat for quick and easy grilling). Did I mention that the portions are substantial? They are. The Chicken begins it's journey soaking in Lemon and Herbs. For an additional $2 you can bury the whole bird with Diabla Sauce. (read Spicy Chili Gravy). This Sauce would be delicious over julienned Gym Socks or Dust Bunnies. The welcome heat is delicious even if you're timid with spice. The Chicken arrives tender but with crisp edges, juicy and tasting like Chicken could and should taste. While the Chicken was definitely marinated it's hard to determine if it was brined first. No matter as it was spot on great. The Chicken Chef was not chicken and got it right. The Sauteed Spinach retained it's Spinach integrity and was fished out of the water while still slightly toothy. Excellent. The Kitchen elevated Spinach beyond Pop-Eye's power surge urge. This was beyond just a Side Dish. Vegans, have at it. The Roasted Potatoes were also good enough to enjoy as a Main. Really crunchy nuggets with creamy centers. This place not only offers fine comida de la gente, the restaurant is efficient but doesn't rush. Want to enjoy sobremesa? (relaxing time after dinner to discuss politics, religion, sex and gossip about the people you've just dined with). Sobremesa (literally means around the table) is a charming and civilized concept. Spanish culture doesn't like to hurry. So share the sad, glad, mad personal issues that go best after Dessert. Malbec, prings back sweet memories of a morning Cortado and a Media Luna at Oriente Coffee Bar. Malbe, I'll be back.

I came to Melbec with my husband for a date night and it reminded me why we love this place so much. Parking can be a bit tricky since it's on the corner and it is on an one way street, but once you're inside, it's totally worth it. This place is super cozy and romantic. We started with their empanadas (a must), then he had the homemade spinach stuffed ravioli and I got the short rib pasta. Everything was so delicious. We paired it with some wine and just had the best time. Great prices, friendly service, and such a lovely atmosphere. This is definitely one of our favorite date night spots. Come check it out, you will love it too

A group of us descended upon Malbec to celebrate a special event and we all had a great time. One of us selected a Prosecco to start and a Malbec to accompany the main course. My gnocchi (spelled "Ñoquis" in Spanish) were rich and delicious, served with roasted bone marrow. We also split an order of empanadas and a beet/arugula salad, which were fantastic. In addition, we sampled several desserts which were all very enjoyable. Free street parking on Sundays; otherwise, metered parking and maybe a parking structure nearby. Service was attentive and friendly, especially for a large group.

A bit underwhelmed with the flavors. Our favorites were the choclos asados (grilled corn) and ñoqui con estofado (gnocchi with short rib) but even then, it wasn't something we'd come back for. The ribeye and NY steak were undercooked for medium rare and it was sadly bland, even with the trio of chimichurri. Only street parking. Both walking in and making reservations was very easy to get a table. The service was great! I wish we liked the food more but maybe it wasn't for our palette.

This restaurant is classy-ish The food is really good and I do recommend this for Argentinian food. However, the staff and service is mid.

Went here for a birthday dinner and had a great time! The service was top notch and the food was great. My first time in an Argentinian restaurant and we'll make sure to come back. We ordered the empanadas, la entraña, and the chicken Milanese. Everything was delicious. Especially the entraña. Highly recommend

I love this restaurant. The appetizers I love: the empanadas are so special - especially the corn & queso fresco. The provoleta is so mouth-watering I could live on that. The only salad I've ever had here - because it's so delicious - is the remolachas y peras. Beets and pears, blue cheese... I want to order it right now! The steaks I've had: Ojo De Bife Al Chimichurri is so flavorful. It is usually my favorite but not always. bife de chorizo, lomo à la parrilla, and ojo de bife - they are all so perfectly what they are it's impossible to play favorites for too long. I haven't had too many sides, because appetizers, but I can tell you that the crema de choclo (creamed corn, butternut squash & queso fresco) is absolutely dreamy. I would usually never order something aside from meat at an Argentinean restaurant, but when I saw arroz con mariscos I went for it, and I'm so glad I did. I can't talk about the desserts. I can only recommend saving room for at least one.

I made a reservation here for a birthday dinner and it was great! we did get there 20 min after our time and the host seemed a little upset but the waitress made up for it! She was great. I did apologize for the delay. Our friend was stuck in traffic on the freeway. That's besides the point. The steak here was pretty good! I do like my seasonings a little on the extra side so I felt like it lacked flavor but the steak was still juicy and delicious. I got Brussels sprouts and a side salad to share with a friend and it was the best option we took because that big steak had me stuffed! The ambience is nice here. Not to outgoing with the decor but still a nice place for dinner :)

Simply an amazing experience. We came in right at opening with a 12 PM reservation (not really needed since it was empty) and were able to choose a seat we liked. The standout here was absolutely the service, attentive, funny, and genuinely welcoming. They really made us feel taken care of. The restaurant itself is beautiful and would make a great date spot. For food, I went with the Lunch DineLA Special ($45 per person) and it was 100% worth it. Here are my thoughts: Camarones Con Prosciutto - Loved this. A nice salad topped with bacon-wrapped shrimp. The shrimp were plump, juicy, and delicious. (5/5) Albondigas - These little meatballs were excellent. Small bites but packed with flavor, and the polenta underneath was a great pairing. The sauce tied everything together nicely. (4.5/5) Milanese Americana - Such a unique dish. Think of a pounded steak, breaded and deep-fried. Surprisingly tasty and very satisfying. (4/5) Lenguado A La Siciliana - A simply prepared grilled white fish with clean, delicious flavors. Nothing flashy, but very well executed. (4.5/5) Pastelito De Membrillo - What a dessert. Fresh gelato paired with fried dough (almost like a fried apple pie). Absolutely amazing. (5/5) Crepe De Manzana - Another winner. You really can't go wrong here, especially with the pistachio gelato. So good. (5/5) Overall, this spot is definitely worth checking out, especially if you can take advantage of something like DineLA. Yes, it's on the pricier side, but the food and service justify it, and you'll have a great time. Parking: Street parking or nearby structures. I got lucky and found a spot right in front on the street.

Second time coming here and I can't believe I didn't review them the first time. The fact I came back for a second round for a second special occasion tells you enough. The staff are so nice and welcoming and really do a great job of explaining the menu items and options. It's nice restaurant that gives you the vibes of a place that should be in Downtown Pasadena but It's tucked away on Green Street, east of Downtown Pasadena. The food has been amazing both times. The arroz de mariscos is tasty and go the second time we are shared the tabla! All 3 meats were cooked exactly as ordered a flavorful. the bone marrow was sooo good too. Though Gaucho Grill down the street does Argentinian as well, I love coming here because of the neighborhood vibe and I honestly think the quality of the meat and sides is top notch!

I was pleasantly surprised that this place was open during Christmas (as many restaurants close on Christmas Day). I was able to make a reservation through OpenTable, which was very simple and user-friendly. Because I had the reservation, we were seated right away (so highly recommend making reservations ahead of time). The ambiance is very romantic and cozy, and they ornamented the place very well with lots of Christmas decorations. For starters, I ordered the Pulpo Al Aji Amarillo (grilled Mediterranean octopus), which was grilled to perfection! For the main, I ordered the Arroz Con Mariscos For One (seafood paella) and the Tabla Mixta. For the Tabla Mixta, you're able to choose two cuts (or more), so I opted for the Entraña (USDA skirt steak) and the Ojo De Bife (Argentinean Rib Eye). I absolutely enjoyed the Rib Eye with my sides of mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus. To end the night, I ordered crepes that came with a Nutella spread, strawberries, bananas, and a side of vanilla ice cream. The service was immaculate and staff was attentive, and ensuring that each dish was served in a timely fashion. It is quite pricey, but I would definitely come back here again for the Argentinean Rib Eye!

I love bringing friends and family here! We came to celebrate company, and we couldn't be happier with the experience. The restaurant is warm and inviting and the tables are not crowded. Our server was very helpful, and the Wagyu tomahawk fed 3 of us very well (the bone is about a pound). I also had pasta and they took the chilis out for me. The decaf cappuccino was PERFECT I'm not going to take stars off for it, but I'm 100% sure there used to be YUCCA fries and Maduros used to be on the menu. Theres no need for mashed potatoes, French fries and Yukon gold roasted potatoes to *all* be sides. Delete one or two and bring them back pleaaaaseee!

The menu prices suggest that it's quite a nice upscale restaurant which it is, but the interior was nothing special, quite casual. The entire restaurant is on the second floor so as soon as you open the door you're going upstairs. They have an open bar and plenty of indoor and outdoor/patio seating. Patio area has cute lighting and every table is freshly set with clean linen and table setting. The three of us ordered a bottle of wine to share and were able to try a couple samples before making our decision. Great recommendations on the wine - which I appreciate. We then ordered an appetizer to share which was very tasty. And our entrees were great too. I ordered the vodka pasta dish and I ate every single bite, it was delicious! My friends also commented on how delicious their entrees were. Our server was kind and great overall. I couldn't help but notice though that a couple other parties (who were a couple parties of two, and seated after us) were served before us, and left before us. Obviously I know our food coming out later than usual had nothing to do with our server, but what I did notice was how our server never checked on us after our meals were served. Our server walked past our table several times (checking on multiple tables next to us and even re-setting tables next to us) and didn't even make eye contact to check on any non verbal cues. I finally had to call the server by name (after about 30 minutes had passed since all our meals were done) before getting a dessert menu and then again for the check. Again, overall our server was good, but I'm not sure where the disconnect happened after our meals came. I'd still come back and would definitely recommend this spot to anyone.

I came later after my friend got the table but we were seated outside in the nice little patio seating area. The servers were quick to greet me when I came in and took my drink order. I tried the frozen Negroni and opted for that. We were served bread to dip with vinegar and oil while we looked through the menu to see what we wanted. The server suggested different dishes: raviolis, cacio e pepe, a dish with the name jerry in the title (I don't quite remember the full name!) and so on. I ordered the cacio e pepe and added mushrooms and chicken to my order. As an appetizer, I ordered a half cesar salad which was pretty decent. I was not a fan of the hard crouton though! The cacio e pepe was pretty dry and the chicken was even drier. Adding mushrooms was a nice touch but sadly the dish could not be saved by how dried it was. Overall, it was okay but I would skip on adding chicken. My friends seemed pretty disappointed with their dishes. I think maybe 2/6 thought their dishes were okay while the rest did not enjoy what they ordered. For dessert, I was surprised with a slice of coconut cake since it was a friend and mines birthday. The cake was good and full of coconut flavored goodnessss. The tiramisu I ordered (before I knew of the coconut cake!) was also a very nice sweet treat. Overall, the vibes are nice, the service was super kind and the drinks were good. Dessert was fine but I'm not sure I would return for dessert. The inside is nice and spacious and the place had a nice, relaxing vibe to help everyone unwind for dinner. Parking is a big plus for Pasadena! There is a large parking lot that is shared with surrounding businesses and it's free parking.

SERVICE: 10/10 A+ Excellent Service! Everyone was very friendly. Emily was our service for the first half followed by Danny and her team. Everyone was very PATIENT!!! That's so rare!!! Very professional. There was no signs of moodiness or exhaustion. Bravo to the hardworking staff!!! SEABASS: 10/10 Star of the show! The fish was cooked perfectly. It was soft on the inside and a pinch of joyful crunch on the outside. However, I did not like the mash potatoes because it had a very weird taste... PRIME RIB DIP: 8/10 Not bad. It reminded us of the HAT's pastrami sandwich... FILET MIGNON: 9/10 looks delicious! My party finished his plate... CLAM CHOWDER: 10/10 My mother in law said it was very good! ARTICHOKES: 7/10 Very dry. We had to replace it with another appetizer... SPINACH DIP: 9/10 Delicious!!! The dip's flavor and texture really stood out... AMBIANCE: 10/10 Nice and a bit dimmed ambiance. We sat at a circular table for a part of 6 on the first floor. It felt really nice and intimate and you can watch the game on the TV screen as well... They were warm (not hot) and it was difficult to get any meat off of them. I rarely ask for something to be sent back but especially for the price point here, these were not OK. We let them know that they were undercooked. The chokes were gone for a while and when they came back they were slightly better so we just made due and realized that they just weren't very good artichokes. Also, though the heart was good, the flavor of the leaves was not great and the dipping sauce was nothing special. They were covered with diced onions for some reason. When it's $21 for three halves, it was very disappointing.

Then saw a unique appetizer salad item on menu "Involtini" $16. It was a great appetizer consisting of arugula, and goat cheese wrapped in prosciutto, with an impressive large thin sliced piece of Parmesan on top drizzled with a balsamic reduction. Very unique and good, I look forward to replicating at home with a little more balsamic. I ordered the Settebello $21 pizza as a main entree of which I thought was advertised with pancetta, mushrooms and Italian sausage. Pizza came out hot and fresh, but with prosciutto instead of the perceived menu listed pancetta. Pizza sauce was good, the sausage and mushrooms were great. Crust was a little doughy, not crispy but charcoal charred in places. Not phenomenal but not bad, middle of the road overall. Service started off great but fell flat to the floor. Drinks and food came out on time indicating bar staff and kitchen staff were on point. Waiting staff could up their game. No check up or check in. No offers for drink refills or another round. I had to ask for refills on water. Final bill $56.35 for one drink, appetizer and pizza for a solo dinner. Three (3) stars at best! Room for improvements.

They gave me a mega pint for my gin tonic, which I am far from complaining. The staff is super kind, super attentive to make sure our beverages and table was clear. We ordered: Anticuchos - Heart Skewers with a side of roasted potatoes, peruvian corn and rocoto sauce. I am an organ meat fan so this hit the spot. Add a dash of the rocoto sauce as it brings the flavor to a new level Bistec Con Tllarin Verde: The rib eye steak was perfectly cooked medium rare, seasoned simply. They do provide sauces on the side to enjoy of course. It comes with a savory Creamy pesto Linguine to pair with the protein. To share with a group of 5, additionally a dish called Chancho Al Palo : Rotisserie Style Pork, with their crispy skin, sweet plantains and white rice. Comes with a lovely Salsa Criolla. I was able to enjoy two of my favorite Peruvian dishes, and they were absolutely delicious and full of authentic flavor. The only thing that could have made it even better would have been if they offered traditional picarones for dessert!
