WOW! These were my first words when taking my first bite here!! Before walking in you see a huge cow outside (fake). This is a restaurant and also a mini butcher shop. We accidentally went in through the butcher shop side but it still had an entry to get into the restaurant where our party was seated. The restaurant is beautiful and they were able to accommodate our huge party of about 30. We were there celebrating a friends 30th bday. The service: was on point! They had multiple workers helping us and making sure everything was right. The only thing is they left the empty bread bowls on the table and once people were done eating their apps they kinda still kept it on there for a while. I'm sure they just assumed people were still picking at it, I just felt bad for the vegan at the table that had to stare at the blood sausage for a lot longer than needed haha! The food: was absolutely amazing! From the apps to our entree it all tasted amazing! I tried some steak from my friend and husband and both tasted great. I ordered the spinach and ricotta cheese ravioli with link sauce. Def a must try. The red wine was great too! Overall we had a great time. Tried this place the other night for the first time. We absolutely loved it! The ambiance is great, the servers were really nice, and the food was excellent. We tried. Couple of the fancy drinks, the passion statement and the pink dream- both were excellent. We shared a few plates ( Malbec platter, grilled provoleta, side of asparagus and chinchulines). Everything was great! I don't eat chinchulines but my partner said it was the best he's had. He even ordered an extra order to take home. Had dinner here on a Friday night. Very warm welcome from staff. Server was very friendly. Wasn't too busy at 6pm. The cocktails all sounded amazing so tried the Lychee Martini and the Cucumber Basil Martini. While both tasty, they are extremely sweet with too much simple syrup used for my personal liking. The presentation of the smoked table side hot chili margarita has a fun presentation and is very tasty if you enjoy mezcal and spice! The lobster ravioli was delicious, as well as the steak salad. The salmon was a little dry (ordered medium). The grilled shrimp add on didn't have much flavor and wasn't really "grilled". Not much for side options when you have a picky teenager. I love love love that this is a family owned and operated restaurant. The owner is on site and you can tell how proud he is of his food and heritage. We like to try new places at the bar. This way we can try a few items over a few cocktails and can cut it short if things aren't working out versus sitting through a long drawn out dinner. We showed up at about 5:30 on a weeknight and the restaurant and bar were both empty. They did have some drink specials (discounted like happy hour I think) but no food specials. We ordered a few appetizers: ham and corn empanadas, chicken empanadas and pinwheel sausage. All were delicious but the ham and corn empanadas were the best. They serve a house made chimichurri with bread that is OUTRAGEOUS. A few people appeared in the restaurant during our stay. The portions of food look very generous. We will be back for dinner and try their amazing looking steak. Ps - they have a store attached where you can buy hand cut steaks to take home and grill, chimichurri, Argentine specialties and sweets. Throughout the night he made us laugh, gave us honest recommendations, encouraged us to finish and enjoy our food to the fullest, told us stories, and added to the general ambiance. Let me start by saying if I did not like the total experience I would not write a review. Restaurants are having a hard enough time surviving. Fortunately, I liked everything about my experience. First I read Yelp and the owner responded in a polite manner to all reviews. So I decided to try carryout. I am not yet ready for an in house or outside experience. The person who answered the phone was polite and allowed me to order from the regular or carry out menu. I ordered appetizers. You can see from my photo of the food I ordered was a lot. It was ready when I arrived and was packed well with utensils and a napkin. I taste tested them all and they were very good. In these times what else can you want when you wish to take a break from cooking. I was not put off by the few negative reviews. One genius wanted the food to be salted. I gather his arm that would reach the shaker was in a sling. Another though the Steak was too rare. Did he every think of asking for them to give it more fire. The last I will comment on said he did not like the well done steak he ordered. Serves him right ...who eats a well done steak. As an aside, a few weeks ago I ordered a similar food order and paid twice as much for half the food and after tasting I threw it out. the person who thought the were overpriced must eat at McDonalds. South Florida is no stranger to Argentinian food, but it has not really gotten the attention it deserves, particularly as a fine-dining experience in Broward County. La Rural, which recently opened in Parkland and is a branch of the Weston original, is hoping to change that. Not only is Argentina a huge cattle producer, but it is one of the world's largest wine-producing regions, along with neighboring Chile. La Rural has a substantial wine and cocktail program, with many vintages available featuring South America's finest wineries to choose from. La Rural is a very attractive but spartan-looking restaurant which directs focus on its wine and has many bottles stored on the main dining room wall. The kitchen is open so that the wonderful odors of the steaks hitting the grill create that legit gaucho atmosphere everyone is coming for. Several of us were more inclined to go the cocktail route rather than the vino that evening -- so I had a Spicy Parkland Margarita which featured some very piquant jalapenos and Milagro tequila. It's more Mexican than Argentinian but it served its role for opening up the palate nicely. My wife had a Lychee and Rose Martini which definitely fit the bill for a very girly drink at a very macho place, it was sweet but not unappetizingly so. The Argentine Mule had fresh crushed strawberries in it which added that extra something. They are using premium liquors and fresh ingredients, so I applaud the effort to make fine craft cocktails at this establishment. If you don't know where to start and are super hungry -- especially if you are dining with another couple, I'd begin with the Tablita La Rural which is a hot appetizer platter that showcases some of the greatest (and some of the meatiest) hits of the cuisine. It features the Grilled Proveleta which is a type of mild white cheese, similar to a mozzarella or provolone, that has been cooked on a grill stuffed into red bell pepper seasoned with oregano. It's excellent but that's the only vegetarian thing you are going to find on that platter, which includes three types of grilled sausage, including a pin wheel type, a German-style pork sausage, a Blood Sausage (which is cut with oats that gives it sort of a Kishke or Haggis-type consistency), sweetbreads (don't ask, just eat it) and Chitterlings (same). All of these meaty, offal-y things go great with the fresh baked, crusty pillow-shaped rolls that come to the table along with chimichurri sauce and butter. The main event, of course, is the grilled entrees. We ordered Skirt, Ribeye, and Lamb Chops. Unlike an American-style steakhouse we did not notice any aging of the beef, it seems to be a cultural preference for Argentinian restaurants to very simply season and to not put the steaks through an aging process. That being said of the cuts we had, we preferred the Skirt as it has the beefier flavor, and that Argentinian taste we were looking for whereas the Ribeye just tasted like, well a steak. The lamb chops (a special) were deemed excellent, and we appreciated the fact all the meat we ordered came out rare to medium rare the way we wanted it. The portions of everything we ordered were quite generous. If you're not careful they will end up rolling you out of here. There's excellent value at this place, for sure. We also ordered a Milanese al Caballo, which is a traditional Italian-influenced breaded pounded and fried top sirloin, with fried eggs on top and served with freshly sautéed vegetables (very much appreciated for those of us going low-carb) and a fresh salad with a grated white queso seco cheese. This was actually my favorite of everything we ordered, but the ladies thought it was a bit heavy. What do they know? This is cowboy food. I would definitely opt for the fresh veg because the alternative is white rice, French Fries or sweet potato fries which appear commercially sourced. We were more impressed with the plain mashed potatoes, which are hand smashed and simply salted with a little butter in it. If you still have room left in your stomach, and there's a bunch of you, I would suggest the Dessert Assortment, which includes a crêpe filled with caramel, a very eggy Argentinian-style flan, a special layered peach and caramel sponge cake (Balcarce), and Vanilla Ice Cream (which we think might be Blue Bunny). Overall we really like the restaurant and felt the service was highly attentive and personalized. Stick with the traditional Argentinian dishes and beef cuts that this place does very well and you'll have a great time. read more

Malbec used to be our favorite restaurant. They used to have the best skirt steak, sides and service. Everything was delicious. This time we went there and we were not only ignored but the food was not close to what was expected in an expensive steak restaurant. The skirt steak we ordered, which used to be the absolute best in the world, was tough. And it was an extremely small piece. For $45 you would expect a piece that was absolutely delicious and more than you could eat. This is not what we are used to at Malbec. When we walked in and sat at the bar, someone in the kitchen waved at us to acknowledge they saw us but then we still had to wait 10 minutes for somebody to show up to serve us at the bar. The asparagus used to be so big and juicy and this time it was very thin. And they could have given us more skimpy asparagus to make up for it. But no, they did not. Furthermore, the Uber eats people were walking in and out and asking us where they could go pick up their food orders. We are customers, why would they ask us. Because there was nobody else there. Seriously, there were about seven Uber eats people standing in the waiting area and it was very uncomfortable. All in all we really did not enjoy ourselves. For $145 we should have been delighted. So sad when you see a restaurant go downhill like this. And when we complained to the bartender about our experience, he pretty much just shrugged his shoulders and didn't say anything to appease us. Just had a delicious dinner with my husband at Malbec Grill. Wilmer, our server, was amazing and very responsive. He recommended an excellent (lower cost) wine when the one we wanted wasn't available and he gave us extra chimichurri sauce to take home with our doggie bag. We had empanadas and fried calamari for apps. Excellent! Main course was the Parrilla II. Steaks cooked to perfection, corn on the cob sweet and delicious. I tried the blood sausage. I didn't like it but my husband enjoyed it after getting over the odd texture. Good Yelp advice to order vegetables as a side. We got the garden salad. This is the first restaurant my husband and I visited since the pandemic started and it surpassed all expectations. The food was delicious.
