The ambiance, drinks, and service were all great! There is an entrance to Lola Coffee from Roosevelt and another from the back near parking spaces. There is a restroom near the back entrance, and the start to the line to place an order is right near the front entrance. I saw in one of the comfy chairs while I waited for my former student to arrive. At that point, we moved to a regular table and then went and ordered drinks. She ordered a coffee, and I ordered a lemonade. We both enjoyed our drinks which were ready very quickly. There were smaller and larger tables, and there were also countertops along with business cards and marketing items at the back of the room on a thin table. Lola Coffee began with humble beginnings going back to 1992 with a cart, then Lux Coffee, and eventually Lola Coffee downtown. Now, there is even a second Lola Coffee location in Arcadia near 40th Street and Indian School. Today, they serve coffee, pastries, and breakfast. The Downtown Phoenix location hours are weekdays from 6:30 AM to 7 PM and weekends from 7 AM to 7 PM. I also ordered their mini blue corn donuts with berry glaze (6 for $4) because they're very good. And I got one of their cute stickers ($3). Service was friendly and welcoming. The affogato was pay as you can donation which is a nice touch. The espresso was strong but mixed with the ice cream was a good balance. I love that they use real cups and plates here, very eco friendly. There's also a water dispenser with reusable cups at the counter. The bathroom was cute with a cabinet plastered with cool stickers. This indigenous and queer women-owned business prioritizes community, well-being and anti-colonialism. They have done fundraisers for Palestine and for mutual aid and care about each other.
