I have been wanting to try Malone's for a very long time. When my friend and I decided to get together for dinner, we decided on Malone's. We got there around 5:30pm on a Friday and the place was already packed. They don't take reservations so first come first serve. We waited about 40 minutes before we got seated which wasn't bad considering how busy it was. It was really loud in there, not the greatest place to take kids. Service was really good. Our server was amazing, wish I could remember her name. My friend ordered the Jambalaya and it was a little too spicy for her so she was just picking on it. Our server noticed it and asked her to pick something else out of the menu so she can eat. She didn't get charged for the first entree either. To me the menu seemed underwhelming. Nothing screamed" try me". My friend ordered the Chicken Terriyaki sandwich the second time and I ended up getting the firecracker chicken wrap. My friend seemed to like her sandwich. My wrap was good but nothing to rave about. With the name firecracker Chicken you would think it would be somewhat spicy. Not even a little spicy. We were a party of three who dines in. My son's burger was made to order and it was very good, exactly as ordered, flavorful beef, melted cheese and if course, bacon. My wife had the special pastrami sandwich with fries which was also very good. The waffle fries on plates were crispy, not soggy and were served hot. Excellent. I ordered the Southwest Salad which was AMAZING. The chicken was properly grilled and oh so moist! It sat on a bed of slaw which was not overdone but with a hint of sweetness that married with the brown rice and guacamole and black beans very well. The avocado dressing was perfect. Went to Malone's for the Packers/Cowboys game. Plenty of TVs and a fun atmosphere. Enjoyed the Firecracker Shrimp and Cheese Curds. Jamie took great care of us. I am still thinking about the goat cheese and fig burger I had a couple weeks ago at Malones. It was probably the best burger I have ever had. Their other food like their wraps, sandwiches, and salads looked amazing too. Their entrees were large and the complimentary popcorn was buttery. But seriously, you have to give the goat cheese burger a try. You'll thank me later. The best time of day to go is right when they open at 11 if you're wanting to go for lunch. This place seemed promising, but quickly turned out to be bad. My husband's order came out the complete wrong order. But eventually came back and admitted that it was her fault and not something in the kitchen. Which we did appreciate. And since it was her fault, she said her manager would come out and speak with us. But never did, which was very disappointing. Malone's is probably Maple Grove's best bar. At least in my humble opinion. It is always busy which I typically take as a sign of good quality food, decently priced drinks, and lots of return business. It is a great place to host a happy hour or catch a game. Nice little patio too. My sister and I used to be addicted to Red Lobster's Fire Cracker Shrimp, but they changed the menu and no longer serve it is an appetizer. Thank goodness Malone's does. My sister and I will typically split it as an appetizer and then she may order more for her meal... I get really adventurous and order the firecracker shrimp tacos. They are SO GOOD! I've never tried the fire cracker wings - but I'm bound to do so soon enough. The menu isn't overwhelming, but every time I've been here my party enjoyed whatever was ordered. As a Maple Grove resident I have been to Malone's many times. The food is excellent and the happy hour specials are great. Being Maple Grove this place is kind of a bro bar and a touch pretentious but I have always had prompt and friendly service without any issues. Malone's features a massive rectangular bar with seating all the way around. Even with the massive bar the place is always so packed it can be difficult to find a seat. The bar area also features a dozen or so big screen TVs and one jumbo TV at the end of the bar are making this a prime spot for sporting events. Behind the bar are 2 draft systems with plenty of domestic, local and national craft beers. I have had everything on the menu from appetizers on the happy hour menu to salads to sandwiches and wraps to burgers. Never have I had a bad meal here and would say you are safe with whatever you order on the menu. It's big enough that there is something for everyone but not so big that they can't do all of it well. Myself personally I go for the firecracker shrimp which are jumbo in size and fried perfectly and then tossed in a nice spicy buffalo sauce I also love the burgers which I made to preference and when you ask for pink there is pink! Gotta love that. I would give Malone's 5 stars if it wasn't so hard to get a spot at the bar and always so crazy packed and loud in there. We stopped into Malone's out of desperation for a quick snack. With 3 young kids in tow, we wanted fast and easy service. We were thrilled to get right in and be served immediately! Our server brought crayons and the most amazing kids menu out. Yes, there was the classic coloring spot and tic tac toe...but flip the page and BOOM! A seek and find that my 4 and 7 year olds were excited to work on. We ordered the fries and the nachos and couldn't have been more pleased. The fries were hot, crispy, not greasy at all, and came topped with delicious seasoning. The seasoned sour cream was also a nice addition that we all enjoyed. On to the nachos...these are the ones you can actually eat on a first date. Our children could eat them without making a mess of everything. AMAZING! Each chip is topped with just enough meat, cheese, and seasoning to make it delicious yet manageable. There were fresh jalapeños and a light salsa as well as tomatoes and lettuce, but none of that was truly necessary to enjoy these nachos. They were a hit with all us, including my 14 month old. I was hungry and wanted to try a different place to eat so my date mentioned Malones and I was excited to see if I would like this place. It was busy, we lucked up and found a parking spot close to the door. We went inside and were greeted by the hostess and we were told we would have to wait 30 to 35 mins. So we waited what seemed like an eternity and then we were sat. Our server I do not remember her name but she was a real sweetheart. She said my date and I looked good together and we seemed to have been together for a long time based on how comfortable we were with one another. Anywho I ordered fish tacos and my date ordered firecracker shrimp tacos. The tacos I ordered were a little too spicy for my liking, however, it worked out because I had a bowl of chicken wild rice soup and my date couldn't finish her food so she gave me one of her shrimp tacos and those were delicious. We did pickup, so I can't speak to the dining in experience. I will say, when we picked up our food on a weekend evening, it was super loud. Enough so that we probably wouldn't consider dining in anytime soon as we have 2 young kids. Had a bar like atmosphere, would be fun with an all adult part or older kids! We ordered a burger, the fire shrimp appetizer and the Buffalo chicken wrap. Service was quick, we didn't have to wait long for our food and they were nice about grabbing it (not always a given now). The portions were very large!! We both felt it was an expensive meal, but once we opened everything we both agreed that while it it pricey, they portions definitely fit the value. The Buffalo chicken wrap was great, spicy, crunchy, comfort food at its finest, and as I was about 33 weeks pregnant, I savored it! My husband said the burger was good, he felt it was a good value and no complaints. We both liked the shrimp, I personally didn't love them though. We've been spoiled in the past with spicy shrimp appetizers at Redstone/ Crave, and I felt both of those beat this one out. It tasted fine, but was a little pricey and not as crispy as I would've liked. Overall, we'd eat here again for takeout!
