I love all the C&C spots but Stanley's may be my favorite for both brunch and dinner. The dog menu is top notch and genius as it keeps the pups occupied and happy. We celebrated my dogs bday with a frozen bone marrow (which he's still enjoying at home post dinner). They have a wide variety of burgers, sandwiches, and bowls. I always default to one of the bowls and got the yum yum bowl. We also had the salmon, turkey cranberry melt, and fajita bowl - everyone really enjoyed their meals. We were here for an early birthday dinner, perhaps that's why the parking lot was not full. It is definitely spacious inside and the part of the patio we were in was very sheltered; it didn't really feel like outdoors, especially with TVs all around and a small faux fireplace right by our table. Dogs are welcome out here and there was a large fluffy white dog at the next table, so well behaved I didn't notice at first. Everyone but me had an alcoholic beverage, so it seems the beer menu is as extensive and high quality as the regular menu. Our servers were prompt and well informed about the menu items. Portions were generous, I could not finish my fries though I would rate them top tier in the Twin Cities, My son's sweet potato fries were nice and crisp too. My fish was light and crispy, no grease clinging to my fingers, and the coleslaw was very fresh, with not too much dressing. Everyone was happy with their dinner choices. We went on a Sunday night and were able to get right in at the bar for 2 people. Parking can be tricky at this location, but they do have an overflow lot and street parking. Food 3/5: we got an old fashioned, a beer, cheese curds, Brussels sprouts, Thai chili chicken wrap and cheeseburger. The bacon in the old fashion was dry and more beef jerky like, the drink itself was good. The Brussels sprouts if you got a bit of everything was a great balance flavor, same with the cheese curds. The chicken wrap wasn't my cup of tea. The oil with the mayo mix clashed to me and my hand was soaked in the oil which made it not a fun experience. Service 3/5: it felt like we had to fight for the attention of our bartender. There was obvious gossip going on about other employees and it felt overall elementary to have to fight for our bartenders attention. Ambiance 3/5: overall this is a tight and loud space. The one thing that was frustrating is there were fruit flies in our face the entire time. It doesn't feel great to have to be swatting flies in the middle of winter to eat your food and brings other questions of sanitation. Overall we have liked this place over the years. This visit was maybe an anomaly, but between the gossip and fruit flies this visit left a lot to be desired. read more

Popped in for brunch and let me say, it nailed the spot in all the right ways. Think, solid neighborhood bar that you can roll into for brunch, lunch, or dinner and feel perfectly at home. Catch a game on TV? Neighborhood option. Service was great on this occasion, from the vibes, to the drinks, to the food, to the sever herself. Zero complaints. Had a maple old fashioned and espresso martini which were both mixed spot on. For food, I went with the sausage gravy and biscuits which came with a healthy amount of eggs. Everything was seasoned perfectly and for one person, questionably heathly on the portion. Exactly what you want at a neighborhood brunch on the weekends. Especially if you "turned up" the night prior. Only downside? Parking is rough. If you're in the neighborhood? Perfect. If not, the lot is tiny and it's off a busy street. They did add overflow across the street, which on my trip was also packed. If you find yourself in that scenario you should be able to snag street parking, though you'll need to walk a few blocks. I live in NE Minneapolis and had never heard of this place until a friend recommended it for brunch. I ordered the French toast and was a little disappointed because it was served as smaller pieces of toast rather than the more traditional, thick-cut French toast I was expecting. The cheese curds are definitely a must-have, though. The burgers are huge and flavorful, but they can be a little messy -- so come prepared! The service was great and very hospitable. I never had to look around or flag anyone down for help. I also loved the heated patio in the back, which offers plenty of space for guests. We have been here a couple times recently for their Easter and Mother's Day brunch buffet. We loved it! Amazing food on the buffet everything is warm and delicious. Returned after a not-so-great experience and happy to say this visit was a major improvement. We tried the brisket grilled cheese and the dry rub boneless wings. I'm not usually a brisket fan, but our neighbors insisted it was top-notch--turns out they were absolutely right. It was delicious. The wings were well-seasoned and paired perfectly with the mango habanero sauce. Don't worry if you're sensitive to heat--the sauce isn't spicy at all. It's more like a sweet, flavorful jam. All in all, a much more positive experience this time around, and I'm looking forward to coming back to try a burger. Our neighbor still raves about a blue burger they used to offer--sadly, it's no longer on the menu. Just putting it out there: maybe bring it back someday? Came here for the Rueben dumplings and the green beer. The food is always great at Stanley's. One thing that made me not rate higher was our waiter. We ordered a burger and then when our food came out we got a patty melt... we told our waiter it wasn't what we ordered and he then told us "no this is how it comes." Unfortunately he didn't give us a chance to change it until we got the check and we again told him that it wasn't what we ordered... he did apologize and comped the "burger" for us but all of that could have been avoided if he would have listened to us when the food first came out. The dumplings were delicious and usually the service is great here. We also love the patio and it does allow dogs on the patio which is awesome. I still will recommend Stanley's but this past experience was not the best. read more

The service was good and the ambiance was pretty cool out on the patio.. BUT we came here tonight because it was advertised as a place that played the Loons games. We were very disappointed as we had traveled a long way just to find out that it was being played on one TV and there was no sound. Those of us that were there for the game had to clump together awkwardly to see the game and one table even had to move in order to see it at all. Back in Minneapolis, I am visiting family for the state fair. I am super excited about that, but in the meantime, in between times, a brother still has to eat! My brother recommended a local place he visits often, so we took a trip. Stanley's was a very big bar/restaurant. According to my brother, they went through some reconstruction to upgrade their patio, which looks amazing. They have a huge indoor area that has plenty of seats and plenty of televisions to watch the games. The allure, however, is definitely their patio. The patio has intimate lighting. There are televisions out there too for your viewing pleasure. They also have the digital fireplaces along the walls. The ambiance was superb. I keep telling myself I will make sure to remember the names of the waitstaff, but for each review, I keep forgetting to write it down. I like the idea of giving them the flowers they deserve when they do well and giving them constructive feedback when service is not what I expect. Anyway, our server was great. He was very patient with us, helping me specifically choose a great option from the menu. Even though I made a huge mistake ordering my meal and forgetting to tell him to omit the bacon. He did not make it a big deal, immediately took it back to the kitchen and made me a fresh one. I really do appreciate that. Now, for the food, I had the sweet and spicy chicken wrap (no bacon, of course), and it was delectable. The most satisfying thing about the meal, in my opinion, was the portion. The wrap came with french fries, and before that, the table shared some nachos, which was a great portion as well. I was so full I was able to save half my wrap for a midnight snack. Stanley's was a great restaurant, I highly recommend it and if anyone goes absolutely sit on the patio, I forgot to mention it is retractable as well so it does not matter what the season is sitting out there is always an option. read more

My friend and I decided on Stanley's for Sunday lunch after the other places we planned to go were closed. My friend is a fan of Stanley's but this was my first time. Since it was Sunday, we were limited to their brunch menu, which was fine by me but my friend was unable to order the salad she likes. We ordered cheese curds and truffle fries to start, both were delicious! And then after a while we decided to share an order of wings with the dry rub and then a sauce on the side. I loved the dry rub on the wings. We sat on the patio which was fantastic as we were able to enjoy the outdoors and all the puppies. I had a wonderful meal here! Service was really great. Very friendly and attentive and when our waiter got bogged down the bartender came to check on us to make sure we had everything we needed! We started with drinks--I got the Blackberry Mule, which was AMAZING. I could've had like ten of them. SO delicious. I also got the Craft & Crew Minnesota 75, which was good, but more bitter than my first drink, so I didn't like it as much. For an app we got the jalapeño poppers, which were really good, although I did wish they had more of a spicy kick to them. For my meal I got the Bleu Fig Burger and added on jalapeño bacon. The burger was good (adding the bacon was a delicious choice), but it had too much arugula and too many crispy onions on it, which made it really hard (and messy!) to eat, even when I cut it in half. We went to Stanley's for lunch and sat on the patio on Sunday. They need to hire more servers or find one that is more efficient. It took our server over 25 minutes to greet us. after receiving the drinks and appetizer it took another 45 minutes for her to come back to take our order. the food was delicious but we didn't need to be there for such an extended time. there were 5 tables around us all sat afterwards that basically had their bills before we got our food. To wrap up the extremely slow experience, our server took our cards then proceeded to hold on to them for over ten minutes before returning them. Stanley's is an iconic and cozy spot in the NE neighborhood. I love coming here to grab classic pub fare and a cold beer. This most recent time my husband and I shared the cheese curds (served with a side of chili jam-a unique sweet and spicy twist on the classic ranch), dry rub wings, and the vegan hot chic sandwich. All of these were delicious and satisfied our end of a long week fried food craving! :) The service here is great-super friendly and despite them being busy in the evenings we have never had to wait long to be seated or for our food to arrive which is always appreciated. They have a small parking lot by the restaurant that can fill up fast on Friday/weekend nights but plenty of street parking is available so no worries. They also allow dogs on the (all season) patio so expect to hear some occasional barking if you choose to sit there. read more

I know places have to put different foods into rotation, but I really wish they would bring back the mushrooms. Those were so amazing and so damn good. Have been there a few times in the past few weeks and the food is just superb! Ordered the cobb salad which was one of the best I have ever had. Huge chunks of perfectly grilled chicken, avocado, eggs and bacon. It was amazingly good. Also have tried the loaded Yuca fries- yum, the cubano- was okay, but my cobb salad was amazing! Mushrooms would have been even better. I love that have food for the pups. Have ordered the pup loaf a few times and the pups both just devour it. Great place. Great food.
