The women operated (perhaps owned as well) location are all beautiful, kind, and offer a generous portion of food with top-notch service. Come hungry and leave happy! I am the man who is walking to New Jersey and stopped by the Kingsland, GA location, the one who was telling you about Officer Petelant (Peddle-an-'Ant') the scum bag who attacked me, gave me wrong directions, and unlawfully seized my driver's license and now has me walking off-course to Savannah to attempt to retrieve the license. Also the territory of Searg'ant' (Maxine?) Gibson who had me arrested, had all of my food and most of my personal care items, including the second sandwich you kindly donated to me in my time of need. These two Coffiers (I wouldn't call them officers) harassed me and lead me to get charged with loitering and prowling after walking across a parking lot and stopping to smoke a cigarette, no more than 3-5mins on property. I was sex trafficed that night, taken to the jail in Woodbine, which was my Grandmother's former address coincidentally, where I was sexually assaulted by police and potentially inmates as I slept. I woke with aches and pains as well as a scab on my knee I hadn't had previously. The police REFUSED to allow me to report the sexual assault and dumped me like a sack of potatoes on the outskirts of Brunswick, GA, rather than downtown where the Salvation Army fed me and provided me with a razor. Once downtown in Brunswick I attempted to call the emergency help line and report the police in Woodbine to the police at the Tax Collector's office in Brunswick, where I was threatened to be arrest for "obstruction of justice" by an Officer Taylor, a big heavy-set, blue-eyed bully, more interested in treating me like the perp, not the victim. I was trespassed from the downtown event and told someone in Georgia had a restraining order on me by the Sheriff of Brunswick. Very strange, I don't know anyone in Brunswick, GA. Perhaps he was lying! I am documenting this for future reference. Let this reflect poorly on the police in Kingsland, Woodbine, and Brunswick, but reflect beautifully on Malson's BBQ. read more

Place is legit! Would have never known about if not for a neighbor just randomly mentioning it. We opted for Malson's instead of buc ee's brisket sandwich (hey, never been there either!!). 3 pulled pork sandwiches with the sweet damn...oh mighty, good stuff. One pickier daughter got a smoked hotdog with slaw and cheese....let's say they ruined regular hot dogs for us. Potato salad was great, not overly mayo'd. Ok, then..so good...why not 5 stars? No Collard greens. No mac n cheese. Dang. Would have made it perfect. So, will probably stop in again on the return trip back to Fl. Good stuff! read more

I know I am betraying my adopted state of NC by loving a mustard-based BBQ, but since we accidentally discovered this place (intending to visit Wendy's) it is a must-have whenever we visit Florida to see family. I've yet to have anything there I didn't like, but the pulled pork is some of the best I've ever had, and the wings are also fantastic. I literally bring a cooler every road trip so I can take some home on the way back. Also, don't sleep on their cupcakes, they're delicious as well. read more

Food is good and very affordable prices. would have liked to see a little bit more sauce. Would get the pulled pork and extra sauce on the side next time. Great little hole in wall right of 95. Don't have to go far off exit to enjoy large portions of excellent BBQ. Got the two meat combo and I think it could have fed three people! The quarter chicken was a large leg and thigh with just the right amount of smoke and the pulled pork was very juicy. Coleslaw was ....coleslaw if you will but I would choose it again. If you are doing a road trip and leaving Florida and driving on 95, this is definitely a must for one of your break stops! One of my good friends raved about it and how we needed to stop there during our road trip. This stop is budget friendly and absolutely worth it! They have the menu written by hand on a chalk board. We order a 1 combo plate which is 1 meat and 2 sides and a 1 combo plate with 2 meats and 2 sides (see pictures for exact order). All combo orders bring rice at the bottom of the meat protein. The ribs have such an amazing smokey flavor that is not overwhelming at all, it actually compliments the flavor of the meat and sauce used. The baked beans are out of this world, I cannot even describe the flavor, I have never tried baked beans as good as these. The potato salad and coleslaw were super creamy and balanced out the strong (but amazing) flavor of the BBQ sauce. I absolutely recommend this place for anyone that is driving in and out of Florida/Georgia using 95. read more

Stopped in for a quick meal and enjoyed it. The jumbo pulled pork sandwich was a good deal for $5.99 and kept me full all night after an early dinner. The pork was nice and tender and the yellow bbq sauce tasted good. Appreciated the no-nonsense service - just order, get the food after a few minutes and start to grub. Don't have to deal with waiters or delays. Couldn't tell ya if the bbq is good because it comes covered in sauce. I did try to get some bites without the sauce and did not taste any particular flavor except for hint of smoke, so probably not the best flavored meat - hence the sauce. The buns were cold and the meat not super hot, but on the plus side there were no dry pieces and no hard or burnt ones, so did not have any stomach issues afterward. Few tips: 1) be careful with the picnic tables as there was bird poop and sauce on them at random. 2) the sandwich comes supper messy and will cover your hands in BBQ sauce - just head over to the Wendy's to wash your hands afterward. 3) be careful the wind doesn't blow your napkins and plate away. read more

On my drive home from Hartford,CT to Dallas, I stopped by for a hotel stay in Kingsland,GA and was hungry for dinner. I did a quick search and found this BBQ shack! Some local guy standing outside with me waiting for his food sworn it's the best BBQ in Georgia. I'm from Texas and have eaten plenty of BBQ. Their BBQ is actually really delicious, full of flavors! Real Southern barbeque cooked fresh. This is NOT a dine-inside restaurant. There is almost no parking and seating is outdoor and minimal at best. What this is, is the best barbeque in the area! This is located off the southwest corner of I-95 and SR-40. It is off the service road in a very small wooden building to the east of the Chevron gas station and food mart. It has 4 small parking spaces directly in front of it. There are several bench-like tables under some cover on the grass strip right next to the parking spots. You order, pay, and receive your food at the small window on the left as you face the building. The menu is on the front of the structure and lists various sides, dishes, meals, and sandwiches on a chalkboard. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich. It came out very quickly and was delicious. The staff was friendly and efficient in taking the order, ringing it up, and serving it when completed. The sauce was a very light spice barbeque sauce that went well with the pulled pork. Another great point about this place is the prices. The sandwich was $5.50. I have come here many times and have always enjoyed it. I highly recommend it for any fellow travelers in the area in the mood for a great barbeque meal. read more

It is up to you to get the meat off the bone and make it a sandwich, but you don't, not after sucking any bit of sauce. Like Doritos, you just don't stop. And the bread has the use of snow shovels in a heatwave. Until the meat storm ends and all you have is a pool of sauce that you want to just chug, but that would be gauche. Enter the bread. It is just a BBQ shack with a lot of great flavors. They've got a limited menu but as Socrates said "If it ain't broke, don't need a fixin'" And this definitely isn't broke far from it. Originally my wife grabbed a couple of sandwiches and we had them for lunch. I actually went to see for my self and as a life long Southerner and BBQ consumer I really liked this place it checked all the boxes for a really good BBQ joint. 1) near or next door to a gas station 2) close to a highway 3) Big ole smoker going 24/7 4) Not a lot of fluff 5) Great food at a reasonable price 6) Friendly people inside and out I went there around noon and there isn't a ton of parking not their fault and parked got to the window knocked placed my order the lady was as nice as she could be. The sandwiches were packed and I mean packed with BBQ pork and beef we got 2 sandwiches. Everything from the sandwiches to the sides was $18.70 and nowadays you spend that on a fast food joint and Lord only knows what you're getting and even of you're getting what you ordered. read more

The chicken skin is so tough and rubbery It's hard to chew through and the one time I ordered brisket it was actually very stringy pot roast. 3 Stars for what is surely the best choice for rest stop food! This is a tiny spot that includes a small shack where you order your food and about 5 picnic tables (some with coverings). I got the Pulled Pork Platter which comes with rice and two sides- I went with the baked beans and coleslaw ($8.50). I asked for it with sweet BBQ sauce since it usually comes with their regular medium hot sauce. The flavors were rich and deep, with lots of smokiness and tangy sweetness. I particularly enjoyed the baked beans, whose flavor made clear that it was homemade. The one thing I wasn't too fond of was the rice. It's served directly under the pork and was very mushy and overcooked. I think it'd hold up better on its own or undercooked a bit if it's going to sit under the moist meat. Otherwise, just eliminate the rice altogether. It muddies up what is an otherwise simple, solid dish. My husband got the Loaded pork potato ($6.50). Again, bold flavors on the meat, but it was less than appetizing to see it sitting in a pool of orange, separated oil. Oh well, BBQ is oily, so that wasn't a big deal, but unfortunately the potato was not cooked enough or smashed at all so my potato-loving fella ended up eating the toppings and leaving an almost untouched spud behind. Overall, this was much better than any of the fast food options surrounding it. It may not be the BEST bbq, but it does the trick! read more

I was driving on my way from Jacksonville to Savannah for a day trip and forgot to get gas so I pulled off in Kingsland to get gas. While getting gas, my dad was in the back and saw this BBQ shack. We decided to go over and see what they had. The lady at the counter was very sweet and offered the four of us a free sample of their pulled pork. We tried it and were all taken aback by how flavorful and moist the pork was. It had a nice bark as well. We got the small pulled pork sandwich which was a great size. They BBQ sauce was good but I ordered mine without sauce since I was driving. It was still a bit big so I ended up needing a fork anyhow. I also got the cherry lemonade which was awesome. It was very refreshing and definitely tasted homemade. If you ever find yourself driving through Kingsland, give this BBQ a try as you will not regret it. read more
