6.22.26 UPDATE We…read moreoriginally had a disappointing experience due to slow service, limited attention from staff, and the lack of air conditioning during our visit. However, the owner took the time to respond and explain that the entire shopping center wing was experiencing cooling issues and that the restaurant was dealing with significant staffing shortages at the time. While that doesn't completely change the experience we had, I appreciate that the owner acknowledged the challenges and responded professionally rather than dismissing the feedback. One observation I would offer is that, as a customer, it was difficult to tell who was serving tables. I noticed several employees in Pint & Cork shirts moving around the restaurant, but only saw a couple of servers actively covering the dining area. It's possible some staff were assigned to bartending or other responsibilities, but from the guest perspective it gave the impression that table service was understaffed while other employees appeared unavailable. I still think there is room for improvement in the flow and logistics on the floor, but I appreciate the owner's willingness to engage with feedback and explain the circumstances. That being said, I would be willing to give the restaurant another chance. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATED REVIEW AFTER OWNER'S RESPONSE: 6.21.26 I appreciate the response. It's telling that you addressed the air conditioning, disputed the gender of an employee, and questioned whether I was even there, yet didn't meaningfully respond to the concerns about service, timing, attentiveness, or food quality. If a customer leaves with a poor experience, the question isn't whether they perfectly recalled every detail. The question is why they left with that impression in the first place. I suspect future readers can draw their own conclusions from both the review and the response. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Probably the most disappointing dining experience of our Hawaii trip. We specifically asked to sit indoors because we wanted a break from the Maui heat after spending the day outside. Unfortunately, we quickly realized there was no air conditioning, making the indoor seating barely any cooler than outside. The restaurant also felt severely understaffed. It took around 10 minutes just to get a Diet Coke, and every time I asked for assistance, the woman working at the register seemed to defer the request rather than help or find someone who could. Meanwhile, some employees appeared more interested in chatting than helping customers, while only one or two staff members seemed to be working the floor. I understand restaurants get busy, especially in a tourist area, but the issue wasn't just the wait--it was the feeling that customer service wasn't a priority. As for the food, it was nothing special. I ordered a steak that had a nice smoky flavor, but it arrived well done and overcooked. The rest of the meal was average at best and definitely not memorable enough to make up for the service issues. Between the lack of air conditioning, slow service, inattentive staff, and mediocre food, this was one of the few places in Hawaii where I genuinely regretted spending my money. Considering the location at The Shops at Wailea and the prices being charged, I expected a much higher level of hospitality and execution. There are far too many great dining options in Wailea to come back here.

YELP can I give 10 stars to a place that deserves it??? I've been a few times so you all know my feelings of the sensational Smash Burger so just note" BUY IT " cause it's awesome. Well, it's a double patty dripping with love with jalapeno jam and layer of melted cheese with along with sliced onion & pickle. YES, the bar pretzel is an excellent table share and super tasty. Fried chicken is another order large enough for a sharing item. Make sure you wash it all down with a MAI TAI ( MY FAV ) or one of the many craft beers brewed on site. Defiantly an island vibe place with live local hula music blasting through speakers. Seats are in outdoor seating with roof over most of it. This is one of the more elevated dining experiences you will find on the island of Maui. Breathtaking views of the ocean sunsets are incredible. When dinner service begins. There is a native Hawaiian who blows a conch shell with a small ceremony to celebrate the evening and to pay homage to the true owners of this island the native Hawaiians. I started out with the Tchin Tchin cocktail, amazing delicate flavor, not too sweet. I then had to try their seared Ahi on the rock appetizer where they bring you a piping hot rock and fresh Aji you cook the Aji on the rock yourself and it comes with three different incredible dipping sauces. Then I had the lobster tempura dish for my main meal combined with grilled monchong. This is one of the best dishes I think I've ever had in my life. The fish was so light and buttery and juicy and flaky, and the lobster cooked to perfection, and I was very skeptical because were breading this lobster and tempura and there's such a risk of over cooking and that did not happen here I was super super pleased. I then went with the Pinoy honey toast for dessert with a side of Ube ice cream also incredible. The service here for me was second to none. It was delightful to spend my 50th birthday here and I owe much gratitude to Leeann and Randy for their service! Many mahalos! I will definitely be back.

I saw the Sunday Brunch deal on my Facebook with a Free Pool Pass for the month of June! We couldn't pass that up. Because we went on the very last Sunday in June, it was real busy with visitors staying at the hotel and locals alike taking advantage of this Summer deal so we expected it. We got maybe 2-3 plates each. My cousin took advantage of the proteins first. He went straight to get the Ko Rosemary Crusted Prime Rib with the Horseradish and Au Jus which was delicious and our top favorite. He wasn't a big fan of the Mochiko Chicken, he said it was a bit dry. I started off with the selection of appetizers like the Ulu & Potato Mac Salad, Lomi Lomi Salmon, Waipoli Baby Greens with Papaya Seed Dressing and Poi! I loved it all. I was pretty naive and put the scrambled eggs and Braised Short Ribs on my plate but didn't realize it was a Loco Moco station lol! That was a fail but the Braised Short Ribs was so tender and is a must if you go. Make sure you make yourself a Loco Moco lol! Other favorites was the Lavender Honey Crispy Shrimp (because there was so many people I got the bottom of the bowl but they refilled it right after), Pork Shumai with Mustard Sauce, and Longanisa (Filipino Sausage with Garlic and Vinegar) with Onions. My coworker told me his stomach got upset from the Ahi a few months ago so I kinda stayed away from the Seared Ahi station (and I love ahi) except for the Vegetable and California Rolls and the Shumai. I took one Kimchee Shrimp just to try but the shrimp didn't taste the best sadly. I was also looking forward to the Pancakes station since I read there's Banana Pancakes and Chantilly Sauce! I do love me some Chantilly but it was mini Regular Pancakes with Strawberry, Lilikoi (Passion Fruit) Butter, and Syrup. I was a bit disappointed but the desserts didn't disappoint and was a hit. Our favorites were the Guava Chiffon Cake which was light and creamy, Hokkaido Cheese Tart, Calamansi Tartelettes and also the Paniolo Banana Rum Cake. I love small desserts-less waste and definitely leaving you satisfied when done right! Overall it was delicious- some hits and a few misses but we both understood it was the last Brunch deal day and had a relaxing Pool day afterwards. We both work in Customer Service/Hospitality and we appreciated the Staff working hard and being so welcoming and friendly, full of aloha.

I don't know what I'll do if I lose Nick's Maui. But I dither, Nick's Fishmarket Maui is in an incredible location inside the Fairmont Kea Lani and it's setting alone would be enough to pull me back even if the food was just okay. Thankfully the food is MUCH better than "just okay", it is generally outstanding. I rotate starters and salads because there are so many great choices. The Caesar Salad is about as good as they get, but I really, really like the Maui Greek Salad. With at least four people we start with the Seafood Tower, but find it just too big for two of us. Other than that the Kalua Pig Pot Stickers, Charred Octopus, Crab Cakes and Blackened Ahi are the starters I rotate through. For my Main, I am less eclectic. I have a hard time getting away from the Diver Scallops and Scampi. I have tried other dishes, the Abalone, Kona Lobster and Ribeye (I know, I know, who orders steak in a seafood restaurant), but I keep coming back to. For Dessert, I am also in a rut, but I love desserts they set on fire and in this case it is Bananas Foster. I do sneak bites off my DW's Creme Brulee, as does off my BF. The service is terrific, attentive without being intrusive. I used to joke about the Chicago store that if you knocked a spoon off the table someone would catch it before it hit the floor. The Maui service isn't quite that attentive and I am not sure I would want it to be.
