Homeland creamery ice cream!

Service 10/10. Space and seating 10/10. Food 1000/10. We stopped in a couple of minutes before closing after eating at Odeh's across the street and were happy that we made it in time! The display cases are completely full with tons of different options to enjoy. I ended up with the Oreo cheesecake and it was delicious! I want to go back soon to try more! Also, if you bring in an Odeh's receipt from the same day you get 10% off! What a fun surprise!

What a little gem of a bakery! I've been following Mama Bears Sweet Shop for a while seeing all of the delicious treats they post on a daily basis, so while in High Point I made it a point to stop by. The inside is super cute with multiple photo ops around the shop. They also have a very large assortment of treats. The lady at the front was super friendly and helpful while picking out what I wanted. My husband loves baklava so I got him an assortment and I am obsessed with Biscoff so I chose the Biscoff cinnamon roll and tiramisu. The cinnamon roll had to be at least 5 lbs and was delicious. The tiramisu was unique in that it wasn't made with coffee so it tasted more like a Biscoff pudding cake of sorts - still delicious. This is definitely a spot I'll be stopping by in the future when I'm in town!

This Sweet Shop is like one of those cozy family friendly places you go to get to know the ladies who bake and serve an assortment of baked goods. There's also ice cream and gelato. I'm always in it for the coffee so I tried the Gingerbread Latte which was good! They use almond instead of oatmilk, still very tasty. The chocolate chip cookie was still warm when I got it! Cute space with lots of room for a big group. The food is great, but the service is what I liked the best.

The most cutest new bakery and coffee shop around town. They decorated for christmas. They sell a variety of baked goods; including cakes, scones, cinnamon rolls, baklava, cookies, cake balls, tiramisu, key lime pie ,guava and cheesecake puff pastries. In addition to that they sell icecream and gelato!!!. Staff was of great service and desserts is yummy. The peaunut butter and white chocolate cookie is loaded with white chocolate. Every bite theres a chip :p Definitely be back to try more of the desserts.

Dubai cake

While its prices have gone up, Odeh's Mediterranean Kitchen remains the gold standard for Mediterranean/Middle Eastern food in High Point. With this bakery spinoff, the Odeh family looks to continue to raise the bar. First impressions have been very encouraging. Housed in the former Mandalay Asian Fusion space, Mama Bear's is bright, clean, and spacious with plenty of seating. The selection is commendably varied: rolls, croissants, cakes, cookies, gelato, ice cream, and more. Whatever your sweet tooth yearns for, they have you covered. Coffee and espresso drinks are available as well. For my first visit, I went with a slice of Dubai chocolate cake and a white chocolate peanut butter cookie. The cake was rich and chocolatey with a nice crunch, but at $7/slice, I'll probably go with a less extravagant flavor next time. The cookie ($3.50) was a standout: moist and chewy without falling apart. White chocolate and peanut butter proved to be an underrated combination. If you're a fan of Odeh's, enjoy a good pastry, or both, then Mama Bear's is a no-brainer. Be forewarned that if you follow their social media, you may have a tough time staying away.

Mama Bear's is my new favorite bakery. I drop in at least once a week for some sweet treats. It is so cute and dainty and the staff is always so nice and accommodating. My favorites are the strawberry crunch banana pudding and assortment of the cookies but unlike to switch it up sometimes too. So much to try. If you haven't already, you should really stop by.

Y'all! Please allow me to use that word and be country for just a few moments. The reason why, is that I grew up in the country a county over and told the ladies at Mama Bears today that my aunt when I was a child, would take all of the blackberries that we would go out and pick, and she would turn them into jams, preserves, and the best blackberry cobbler you would ever eat. So when I saw that they had blackberry cobbler, I had to try and I asked them if they could put as much crust in there as possible. They did not disappoint! It was just sweet enough, not overly sweet and so good with the vanilla ice cream after I heated up the cobbler for about 30 seconds. I mentioned before that they have so much to choose from and this one was a winner in my opinion. Please make sure to check them out because they have so many great things to offer. My only regret was that I immediately started digging in and forgot to take a picture! I did share with my coworker and she said it was so yummy as well. Thank you for bringing back a wonderful childhood memory with such a great dessert. Country girl out.

Stopped in for a quick snack a few weeks ago. Parking was easy and it's a larger space than I had anticipated. I ordered the Oreo cinnamon roll which was delicious. I also ordered a latte and sadly just didn't prefer the type of coffee or how they made it. It's a solid spot for a sweet treat!

The shop is very spacious! They sale a assortment of baked item, coffees, hot coffee, ice cream etc etc. it's really hard to select just one item. The ladies behind the counter make suggestions and serve with a smile. I had a delicious brownie and coffee with a few things added that tasted awesome. I will definitely be back. O

discovered Renaissance Patisserie through the Charlotte in Bloom event a few weeks ago and finally…read moremade my way in to experience it for myself. They had offered samples of their lemon tart at the event, which stayed on my mind--so I came back and ordered the Lorraine-style quiche. It was rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced by a fresh side salad. I paired it with a café au lait, which was equally well done. The ambiance is effortlessly chic--very much reminiscent of a European café--and it was lively during lunch. It's the kind of place where you can sit, linger, and people-watch... and SouthPark definitely showed up in style. At one point, several guests seated near us were speaking French, which added to the authenticity and overall experience. Service was warm and efficient, even with the crowd. The bakery itself is on the smaller side--you order inside and then head outside to sit and eat. I went on a Sunday, so it was very busy with a long line, but it moved quickly. When seating fills up, the neighboring restaurant allows use of their patio, which is a thoughtful touch. My friend enjoyed her quiche as well, and we both agreed it's a spot worth returning to--whether for a casual lunch, coffee, or a pastry break. I also order a few macarons to go and my family enjoyed them.

Review for Renaissance Patisserie…read more After relocating to Charlotte from San Francisco, one of the first things I searched for was a proper kouign-amann (pronounced queen-ah-mahn). It's a staple where I'm from, and when I discovered that Renaissance Patisserie carried it, I made the drive immediately. I'm happy to say--this place is the real deal. The kouign-amann here reminded me of the ones back in San Francisco. It wasn't quite as buttery or rich as some of the West Coast versions, but it was absolutely enjoyable--and most importantly, I finished every bite. That alone says a lot. Location & setting: Renaissance is tucked into the upscale specialty shops of SouthPark, in a lovely, polished shopping center surrounded by quality retailers like Williams Sonoma and several restaurants. Parking is plentiful and convenient, and once you step out of your car, you're welcomed into a charming outdoor courtyard that feels relaxed and refined. You'll immediately notice the bright yellow awning--it's cheerful and inviting--and inside, the bakery is just as charming. The black-and-white tile floors, small bistro tables, and beautifully arranged pastry case create a classic European feel. It's not a huge space--maybe six or seven tables--but it feels cozy, elegant, and thoughtfully designed. What makes it special: * A stunning pastry case filled with beautifully crafted desserts and laminated pastries * Skilled bakers and decorators--you can tell there's real craftsmanship behind the products * Friendly, efficient service * Apple Pay accepted (always appreciated) * Self-service water and condiments station * Clean, comfortable environment * A lovely outdoor patio that's perfect when the weather cooperates I do wish they occasionally experimented with more creative variations of the kouign-amann--perhaps seasonal fruit or specialty flavors--but even in its classic form, it's consistently a hit. I've brought these pastries to friends and gatherings, and they're always well received. What I appreciate most is that Renaissance delivers on quality and consistency. It may be a newer trend here in Charlotte, but these pastries have been a long-standing favorite in cities like San Francisco, and it's wonderful to see that level of craftsmanship available locally. Bottom line: Beautiful pastries, fair prices, great service, and a polished, welcoming atmosphere. This has become my go-to bakery in Charlotte, and if you appreciate well-made French pastries, you will not be disappointed.

They have a few coolers with many flavors of ice cream available. The workers were happy to offer us samples and in the end I got 2 scoops, one of some sort of Cookie Monster blue cookies and creamish style ice cream and I believe brownie batter. Both flavors were delicious and they hit the spot for a sweet treat craving. The shop is small with only one or two tables inside, but a small patio outside to sit and enjoy your treat. Pricing seems to be on par with other local ice cream shops, and service was helpful and friendly. I'd recommend this spot to others.

There is nothing like a creamy and cold ice cream on a hot and sunny Summer day. And while visiting…read moreHigh Point, North Carolina, I inquired among the locals for a nice place to have some good ice cream. They suggested Miso's Ice Cream and off I went to try it out. It is located in a small strip mall off North Main Street with plenty of parking. The front of the Ice Cream Shop is decorated very lively and you can see how much they appreciate their High Point University customers from a large welcome sign they have up letting them know this. The first thing that got my attention when I went in, besides how clean and organized the place was, was the great variety of offerings they had. I've been in order Ice Cream Parlors that serve Hershey's Ice Cream before and was aware of the many flavors they have to offer, but here besides the 64 flavors, they seem to have a variety of ways to have your ice cream, as well as other items such as smoothies and frozen lemonade, just to name a few. And to motivate you to explore the different ways of having your ice cream, they have pictures on the wall showing them. Even though the place was small with very few tables and chairs, it was already decorated for the Fall with colored leaves all over and small pumpkins on the table, creating a festive ambiance in which to enjoy some good ice cream. A young lady greated me with a smile and gave me a warm welcome. Since I was in the area to attend a Dinner Party that evening, I didn't want to get anything large; just a medium size cup of a nice flavor ice cream. The employee was so nice and helpful that when I asked her about a flavor besides explaining it she offered to give me a try on a tiny spoon. I tried the flavor Road Runner Raspberry and I instantly loved it. I invite you to view my photographs accompanying this review to read about what this flavor contained and see for yourselves how good it looked for a picture is worth a thousand words. I enjoyed having this wonderful flavor ice cream and the High Point University sign in the entrance made me remember my college years in Boston and Cambridge, Massachusetts, and how much I enjoyed going out with my friends for some ice-cream. I highly recommend this Ice Cream Shop and thank the owners of this family-owned business for providing this sweet spot where members of the community can come to spend some quality time with family and friends while they savor some good ice-cream.
