    2 Taco Plate

OMG. Why isn't there a line out the door?! I dropped in for a quick lunch and the food was soooo good! Got a 2 taco plate with asada and al pastor. My favorite food is Mexican food but so many restaurants oversalt the food. Here, the food is full of flavor without it tasting too salty. Especially loved the grilled green onion, it had a slight crunch on the outside. The homemade tortillas?? To die for. Pillowy and soft. I will drive the 20 minutes to come here next time I need tacos!

Been wanting to try this place since they opened little more than a year ago. Ngl, I avoided it because the vinyl sign out front was crooked for too long (iykyk). Tonight I stopped in on a whim. My order: Taco plate - chicken and asada with rice & beans Chicken sopes Bean & cheese burrito Chicken burrito Chips & salsa Total: $54 Goal: Two bites of everything. I'm a sopes freakazoid (been mad at Lola's since they removed them from their menu): Hands down the best I've ever had! It's one large serving and it is ridiculously good. Generous amount of cotija and perfect seasoning on chicken. A must try! Bean & cheese burrito - I am SO going to tell anyone that will listen about this simple but perfect burrito. Chicken burrito - very good. I took a bite but I was already full. Chips & Salsa? Did not survive the car ride home. They are seasoned and warm and fresh. The green salsa was my fave. The red was good but pretty hot. Spice lovers will appreciate. The reason I went: TACOS - Delish! Tasted like a friend's mom made them. The grilled scallion? Chef's kiss! Food is bomb. Ambiance great! Soccer game was on. Staff was warm and welcoming. Don't hesitate. Try this local spot.

Pretty tasty food here! I loved everything i got. Get the asada tacos on the home-made corn tortilla and add a grilled jalapeno and onions! Soo good and also the asada burrito was solid and flavorful! They have food options such as asada, chicken, asada, al pastor, or chorizo, Probably the best spot for good tacos. Get the red salsa and green salsas. Both tasted great! Service is fast and friendly. Lots of parking in the back area between this place and the dentist office. They have a nice patio outside. Hope this location can stick around because this spot always changes. Food rating Also taco in corn tortilla 8.8 Asada Burrito 8.5

This is a five-star review but I have to admit that I'm a little bit upset. I'm just upset that this place opened up in my neighborhood because the food is so good. I'm going to want to come here everyday I stopped in to try their carne asada fries and was literally blown away! It was delicious as a composed dish, but every element was good on its own. The meat was tender and flavorful. The fries were seasoned and cooked to perfection. Plenty of cheese. The crema and Chipotle cream sauce....were amazing! I topped it with their homemade salsa verde. The staff was very friendly and the service was quick. The place was very welcoming. I paid about $18 with tax and tip. The tape was optional but I support small businesses The portion was definitely shareable so it was worth it. I will definitely be back

One foot inside the door and we were warmly greeted. We were given time to check out the menu and we proceeded to order. I was sold at handmade tortillas! I loved everything about my taco plate including how fast the food was served to us. Everything was fresh. Everything was uniquely seasoned. We will be back with the rest of the family!

I was looking for a Mexican restaurant and I found this place and I saw the bad review. I really liked how they stood up for themselves and for their business so I decided to try them. THE FOOD WAS SO GOOD!!!! Please don't let the bad review discourage you from trying this place im so glad I didn't. Thank you for the good food and the friendly service!!! Things we got: 3 carne asada fries and el pastor tacos and everything was good the chipotle sauce is delicious definitely worth more than $1 that person's was refusing to pay.

I stumbled upon this place today totally by accident. I'm so glad I did. It's simple, the food is made with love. I got the two taco plate. Everything was perfect.

I've eaten here before and I loved it, but I got home to my house to eat my sopes and it was literally just Asada and bread lol

Took over the boba spot! Simple menu with still a lot to choose from. Friendly staff! Helpful & my order was correct! Made to order so a little of a wait... Inside/outside seating. Parking shared with residence & nearby offices. Will go back to try other food items. And it's so close to work!

Went here for lunch after 2pm. Small Mexican joint in the corner of Long Beach Blvd. I believe the soft opening just ended. There was a small sign right in front outside stating tacos come on in. There was no restaurant signage in front. So I assumed this place just fairly opened. Went inside, only a few tables inside. Very small and tight. At the front counter and ordered 3 tacos (Al pastor and Carne Asada) and a Torta meat sandwhich with a can of soda. All came within 10 minutes. Presentation was nice and the flavor was good. No complaints. Now comes the Good and the Bad. Good: Food was fresh and tastes Great! Ambiance is chill so far. Bad: Small portion for the prices you are paying. Example Taco and torta sandwhich we ordered. When ordering, they already had a tip menu and a tip jar, a sense of obligation to tip. Place is small. Parking may be hard to find, pending what hours you go. Traffic is noisy due to LB Blvd. People can see you eat when the stop at a red light.. This place has alot of potential to be successful. Advise, this establishment needs to be more engaged with their customers. Be friendly and have some customer service etiquette, since you are trying to increase sales. This place is like ordering food at your multiple taco corner stands but have a roof over your head. Love the name! Catchy! I assume it is someone's Grandma = family member. Overall, I'll be back again to try something else.

Great food & friendly service! Luis & Karen do an amazing job serving up delish & authentic tacos, burritos, and my favorite the Carne Asada Fries! They opened here in March 2025, and business has been booming for lunch & dinner. When you're in the Long Beach area, come check them out! They have ample parking in the back.

They have tripe that is crispy with corn nut texture. Cabeza (face meat) has a stewed texture. Unlike most places in LB, there is two hours free parking conveniently located across the street at the Harvey Milk Community Lot. We ordered caramelos with the poblanos inside, as well as their horchata. Tortillas are some of the best I've had. Super soft and flavorful from the grill. The fillings and salsa were good too, but it was really wet, and the bean ratio especially compared to the meat, was a little off. Always am going to want more meat. Horchata was unique since it was coconut based. Overall solid spot with patient staff. Tacos La Rueda is still better, but will be back when in Long Beach.

I stopped by on a Friday afternoon and waited about 20 minutes for a table. The wait was well worth it because each dish offered an explosion of flavors. My favorite dish was the birria, with the salmon ceviche as a close second. The mole was great too, but I'd say the other two dishes were more memorable and something I'd return for. I can't recommend the birria enough, as the flavors were reminiscent of what I've had in Mexico, very authentic. The space is small and can feel a bit tight, but sometimes the best food comes from these types of "hole in the wall" places. Ultimately, I'd say give Lola's a try! The soup here lacks the tastebud awakening zip that Don Chato's has. The ono fish taco experience was my fault... I hate fried fish taco, so I had lofty expectations, but due to the fact that I do not prefer corn tortillas, guacamole or raw onions, led to much disappointment since It has all three. Totally my fault. The butternut enchilada was lacking in the expected savoriness... this is being polite. The potato taquito was okay... but I am not a taquito person, so if you are I would seriously encourage you to try it. The star of the table was the Mexican corn. It may not compete with Cornman in Lincoln Heights, but it was decent. I scraped off the onions and toppings on the ono tacos, put the fish on the flour tortillas that another person didn't want, and topped the fish with refried beans, street corn and a but if the chicken tortilla soup broth to make due. When you are driving more than 30 minutes for this experience, I think you would agree that it was less that a proper way to celebrate a birthday. Oh and if there isn't any street parking. It'll cost you about 9 bucks in the lot. I didn't use the restroom, so I cant review its cleanliness. Our waitress was flawless taking orders and delivering food The restaurant itself has a great layout and an outdoor courtyard complete with propane heaters and umbrellas - I loved that... but my favorite part was out front, no not the seating area in the former parking spaces, nope... it was the collapsed woman on the sidewalk, walking her dog with snot running out of her nose because she was huffing some aerosol can of whatever. The chips/ salsa starter was addictive. Huge basket of fresh warm chips, and a salsa like no other! Chunks of veggies and just the right spice. It was hard to get those chunks on the chips but it was delicious. My carne asada was tasty, a large portion with grilled scallion and rice. I wish some of the "bean soup" had been pureed to be a bit thicker but the broth was good, with a variety of beans. Hubby's dish had an interesting flavor, very spicy. Of course it was rain delayed so more time to enjoy food and drinks. Also it was happy hour and taco Tuesday all at the same time. As the game was happening, one of the tequila sponsors was there offering deals. Shot and a jersey. Tony took care of us that night and he was amazing. Made sure that we got everything we needed. Very sweet as well. Happy hour menu offered a good amount of items for a great deal. As well as draft beer and cocktails. Regular menu is great as well which we've had before. Food, an order of the tostada both with shrimp and aguachili. Served with two small tostada and handful of crevice on top. Both were quite tasty and very well flavored in the juice. Also two of the street tacos with birria. They were quite small but did have a major punch of flavor to it. And well priced at 2.50 a piece. Of course the crinkle cut loaded fries with added carne asada. Seemed like it was a popular item as every table had it. It was good but a little skimpy with the topping. Lastly the chicken wings, lemon pepper flavor. Six piece tossed in the sauce. It was good but way too salty for my liking. We still enjoyed everything we had. As we got the shot with the jersey earlier, the person who was affiliated with the sponsor brand was walking around with more shot. I must say, it does hit the spot big time...lol... We were actually presently surprised with the taste of the food, thinking it might be more Americanized but they actually had very authentic and tasty totopos (tortilla chips). The tomato salsa that came with the chips was also very refreshing. We asked for hot sauce too and the house habanero salsa really packed a punch! We ordered carne asada nachos, pork belly chilaquiles (from the brunch menu), a breakfast burrito, poke, and steamed clams. The steamed clams came in a rich tomato broth and the breakfast burrito was massive. The poke was just okay and the chilaquiles a bit too soggy for me, and the carne asada nachos a bit dry. Nonetheless, presentation and portion sizes were respectable. The last comment is that food here is quite pricey but that reflects the likely high rent of a restaurant in 2nd and PCH. Great location, shoreline village. View of the boats, relaxing and on a Sunday, it's hard to beat…read morethe atmosphere. So I ordered a Bloody Mary and their Version is extremely sweet. So I had to return it . I the ordered a Coronita Margarita and that is/was tasty. They do have many different offerings of tequilas. And honestly fairly priced. I started with the Fondido de queso basically a Chorizo fondue. It was very good, only the chips were stale. Not all the chips so just so you know, I ordered the chicken mole enchiladas. The service has been very accommodating. The flavor from the mole was perfect, smooth rich a touch of heat and chocolate. Very flavorful and with the sides of black beans and rice, a tasty pairing. There is side of sweet corn , completing the plate. Great dish. I arrived at 1130 which apparently was the best time. By noon the place was packed and jumping. TVs for the games and plenty of room, so not so crowded despite the amount of people. Great place for a date , or family/friends gathering.

What an awful Tourist Trap. This is a place that once you come one, you will never return - and…read more the level of service and quality of food reflects that management knowledge. First interaction: They advertise a Happy Hour on M-F from 5-6 PM We had this interaction with a server in the bar. "Can we get an order in before Happy Hour is up?" Server "Of course. (Looking at phone the time on their phone). What would you like?" We order. Drinks are brought over along with the check for full price drinks. Me "Can you please fix this check? It's not 6 yet and you are still on Happy Hour, that's why we rushed over." Server "Oh yeah, today we don't have Happy Hour so there is no discount." Me "What so you mean, we ordered these drinks on Happy Hour and now you are telling us there is no Happy Hour as advertised." Server: "Well, we don't do Happy Hour when there is an event in the area, so they are full price." Second interaction (after waiting 45 minutes for a table in the restaurant). We ordered the "made to order table side guac" for 15.50 for an appetizer. About 10 minutes later, a guac is delivered to the table that was either run through a blender or was taken from a tub with a spoonful of pico mixed in. So much for the advertised table side experience or fresh avocado. The guac we buy at Trader Joe's and from Costco are way better. Third Interaction when ordering an entree. I order enchiladas and they have red or green sauce. I ask, Can I get both red sauce on one and green sauce on the other? Response, "well there's an extra charge for that". Besides being lied to about "Happy Hour" and about the "Table-side" Guac and them being told a basic request is going to cost extra, it's is c extremely clear that this place has no respect for their customers and no expectation that anyone will return. I know the 6 local people in our group will never return.
